My reading this year has been focused on studying billionaires. So when someone offered me this book, I immediately said yes.
If I’m being honest, its 427 pages felt a little daunting at first. I actually put it off for a while just because it looked like a very heavy read.
Wow, was I wrong!! Glenn Stearns tells his story so fluidly, with so much passion, and he makes it very relatable. Learning what he did to go from his modest beginning to becoming one of the world’s elite billionaires is so inspiring.
I’ve read a lot of books about millionaires and billionaires. And the difference between millionaires and billionaires is their level of passion. Not saying that millionaires don’t have passion, but there is a noticeable difference and how billionaires turn their passion into discipline and ultimately change the world.
I would highly recommend this book to anybody looking for inspiration. Just wow!
2.5 stars. I learned a new phrase in order to describe this book. Virtue signalling. Stearns has an inspiring journey where he endured many challenges beyond what most people will ever face and emerged successful in the business world. However, he writes in a way that proclaims how great he is and how hard his life was. Also not sure where the title came from… he certainly shows a lot of grit but I wouldn’t say he has an abnormally large amount of integrity. Overall would not recommend.
