A dragon shifter series set in the same world as the bestselling Bride Hunt books
Riley and her best friend Ashlyn decide to go out for a night on the town. Slightly buzzed and grinning from ear to ear, they leave the club to wait for their ride home. From there, it’s all a big blur. One thing Riley knows for sure is that it definitely goes pear-shaped and fast.
One minute they’re on the sidewalk joking around, and the next…they’re in the air. As in grabbed from above by God knows what. The creatures are huge, silent, and fast. Oh, and they can fly. Fly!
Riley screams, but the g-forces have her passing out in seconds. What the hell? They wake up in a cave with monsters, walking deeper and deeper to God knows where. By some miracle, she escapes, but these things still have Ashlyn. They still have her best friend! If only she knew who or what they were.
Talk about going from the frying pan into the fire. She’s hiking back to civilization when a huge dragon swoops down. Yes, a dragon. It changes into a human. As it turns out, dragon shifters are real. Is this one of those creatures who abducted them in the first place? Is he here to take her back? The big, naked guy keeps insisting he’s trying to help her. Riley is not convinced. Not even close!

I really liked Fog in the last book so I was looking forward to this read. Charlene is always an auto buy.
I still HATE Thunder! He was a dick in his book. He was a dick in the last book and he's a dick in this book. I now hate Storm too. I liked his book but he was a dick in this one too. Why didn't they tell Fog about cameras and guards watching caves? They led both mc's to believe they were allowing women to be kidnapped and forced to live in the pitch black underground and they didn't care because the kidnappers are dragons and they didn't want to get involved- forcing Fog to take action into his own hands. Then they punished him and sent Riley home. Pissed me off! In the end, they only did the right thing because Thunder's mate threatened him with an ultimatum. Horrible king and prince!
I LOVED Riley! She was strong and stuck to her morals. I especially liked it when she went off on the king. She didn't take his shit. However, her body/relationship insecurities broke my heart and irritated me at the same time. Fog was so patient, lovable, and sweet with her. I liked he agreed the king was wrong and didn't blindly obey him.
This was a wonderful read. Good amount of exciting action. Good pace. Romance and sex was HOT! Lovable, yet flawed, mc's that overcome their faults. Loved it.
I wonder if we will get a book for Melina's story. She is an awesome secondary character.
I HATE having to wait for Avalanche's book..

Now this is what I am talking about. Dragon Hunter brings a scared human- Riley- to the dragon world who is in desperate need of help. When she is found running scared from monsters in drops a dragon named Fog to help her.
Riley is a strong character that takes her friend getting kidnapped in strides. She fights with the King and Prince to go get her, she argues with Fog to put up a rescue even though he isn't supposed to. And she finds the love of her life all in one fell swoop.
Fog believes he is in love with someone else when he saves Riley from the scary people. But over time he learns that he didn't find love with that other women. The love he finds with Riley is nothing compared to what he found now.
Dragon Hunter is the second sexy book in the Air Dragon series. The story revolves around shifters who meet the one and their lives are changed forever. But there are dramas along the way. That's when the fun begins.
While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters are fun and loving and dictated by their rules, but what they discover more than they ever imagined.
Dragon Hunter is the next story in the Air Dragons series and features Fog, our resident Hunter. One day while out hunting, he sees something pink shimmering below and goes to investigate where he discovers a woman by the name of Riley. She’s frantically trying to get help to rescue her best friend, Ashlyn, after they were abducted. Fog is determined to help rescue the friend but also to protect Riley…that is until the Royals start making things difficult😳
A great story that is fast paced but also reveals a little more about the cave dwellers…we also get to catch up with what’s happening with Ice and Azure and I’m super excited to find out more about Avalanche next😍 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️
Sure, these are fast, light romantic reads, but Hartnady’s Bride Hunt series was among my first paranormal romance books so I have such a fondness for this universe of characters.
We met Fog in the first book of this series, Dragon Heat.. He was enamored with Azure, but he seemed to be a good sport when she chose Ice. We find out in this book that it bothered, and hurt, him more than he let on. He stumbles across a human, Riley, while hunting and learns that they were abducted by some cave dwelling dragons. Riley was able to escape, but her friend, Ashlyn didn’t. Now they just have to figure out how to save her friend without getting tangled up with each other.
I loved Riley as a main character. She did get stupid for a bit, but then come to her senses. There’s so many humorous conversations between her and Fog, and I LOVE a book that can mix humor with romance.
Fog is cocky, like most of the dragons in Hartnady’s stories, but he does have a sweetness and caring that comes through. My only question is did you really think no one was going to find out about your secret mission? Seriously? But as with all Hartnady’s stories all is well in the end and we have a satisfying HEA. Azure, Ice and Melina make appearances in this book, as do The water dragon royals; Thunder and Storm. They are bigger assholes in this book than I remember from their own stories. Egotistical? Oh yeah, but not outright jerks.
If you haven’t read Hartnady’s Bride Hunt series yet, I highly recommend it. They are very lighthearted, romantic reads. If dark romance is your thing, these aren’t the books for you.
I’m sorry, that was seriously boring! Well written though.
Riley and Ashley are best friends. One night after they have been partying, they are taken by cave dwelling dragons.Who need them to have mate with and have children. Riley manages to escape and Fog finds her and takes her back to their lair. While there, they plot to rescue Ashley, and have to pretend to be dating. As the kings have forbidden any rescue attempt. Fog thinks he’s in love with Azure and that he’s only attracted to Riley. Of course they start having feelings for each other. Though they both deny them.
So why was it boring? As the book cover sounded brilliant! For 50% of the book, NOTHING HAPPENS!! They talk a lot, they think a lot in their heads, and that’s it!! It’s so boring!! Riley has got serious issues, and I didn’t like her. She has rules about men and relationships. She doesn’t date really handsome charming men??? She won’t do or receive oral sex and it has to be in the dark!! 😱😱😱 It’s ridiculous. Kudos to Fog for still wanting her after all those stupid rules!
Could have/ should have been brilliant. Really not!!

the writing of these books is not the greatest. the dialogue is unnatural and chunky. overall plots are okay, the world seems developed, the characters need more layers in order to care about them.
if it weren't for audio version, I wouldn't bother finishing. But since I can have it on doing other work, it's worth trudging through,

Will she spend her life hiding behind her fears …
The last book left me wondering about Riley as it ended with her being spotted and rescued. While I liked Riley’s spunk and blathering self, I did not love her until she was able to sort herself out. This all by the book lady was quite a coward the whole story, not this, not that, preferring to live into a cage of her own making instead of truly really experiencing life. A nunnery should have been her home, no risk there. Her long list was such insanely crazy, I wondered how she did not even meet a dangerous guy as she barred from her existence all the kind and sweet ones. Fog is such a guy, sweet, understanding and caring. He tiptoes around her, agreeing to her every whim even when it leads him into fight, insults and danger. And despite his repeated talk of no involvement, it is clear he was falling fast and hard. But the considerate man
This book has not the action nor tension of the first one, it is more a lock-up/stranded-into-the-wild romance. With two strangers learning about the other. 4 stars

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
A simply wonderful second book in the Air Dragons Series of Books This story had a surprising start with two women on the town after visiting a club they had been making their way hoe when suddenly Riley and Ashlyn had been snatched from the pavement, taken high into the sky in a clawed foot was all they remembered till they woke up the following day in a dark cave. Riley could not understand where she was or how she had got there and as I do not want to spoil the story for other readers, I will say that they are in a cave with males, naked males they have never seen before who are speaking a language they do not understand and obviously holding them as captives, but why and what for? When Fog and the other Air Dragons had been hunting that day, he had not expected to come across a human female running through their lands, she is obviously traumatised and in shock and seeing several dragons and then as they change into naked men was absolutely shocking. The need to get help to recover Ashlyn from the captors that have taken them is difficult and it seems that the Air King Thunder and Prince Storm do not seem overly anxious to help, in fact fog gets the feeling when they are speaking with Riley that they know far more than they are saying about these Cave Dragons”. I assure you that when you begin reading this wonderful book you will be blown away by the relationship that has grown between Fog and Riley as they try to find help for Ashlyn. It was also lovely to touch base again with some old characters from previous stories and reading about the Air Dragons was as always exciting. I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Another good story this one is about Fog and Riley. Fog is out hunting with the team when he spots something that just shouldn’t be there something pink. So going to take a closer look he finds a human female. They are in the meddle of no where how did she get out here. So he lands and shifts to his human form but she terrified and takes off but trips he’s talking to her to get her to calm down but she just isn’t going for it because the creature that kidnapped her and her friend where sort of like him but not. The creatures that took them lived in the caves underground and didn’t like the light. That’s how she got away the light from her flashlight. But now she is going to have to trust Fog to get her friend back but first Fog and her will have to pretend to be attracted to each other for her to stay at the lair. So enjoy another good story and see if by pretending something more happens!!
I had a hard time getting into this book. I wasn't hooked on the story immediately. My problem was Riley. I didn't like her and that didn't change during the entire book. This is really saying something because I've only not liked one other female main character by Hartnady before (that b×××h Alex from the water dragons series). Fog on the other hand was just delicious. He hit all my yes points. Which is funny because I wasn't crazy about him in the first book of the series. This book showed that he actually wasn't a meathead and had some depth. Anyways, fans of Hartnady will enjoy another dragon story and newbies should just read everything in her catalog to catch up. Seriously. READ. ALL. HER. BOOKS. I look forward to the next book. Avalanche has totally piqued my interest.
Wow! This book was good! Couldn’t put it down good, I am loving where this storyline is going and I cannot wait to see how it will go for Avalanche!
Character breakdown;
Riley: I like that Riley had her issues with self esteem and her reasons, but good lord her and that damn list, could you not ma’am? Lol. I love her fierce loyalty to her friend and her brazen ways when it needed to be used.
Fog: determined, funny and just as stubborn. I liked how Fog was willingly to risk a lot to do the right thing, and most importantly that he got his happy ending.
Favorite quote; “We can do more than try, Fog. I told you yesterday that I’m in love with you. Totally in love. We will make it work.”
I absolutely cannot wait to read the next, got my full and undivided attention! 10/10 recommend!
I liked Fog from book one even if he did come across as a bit immature in book 1.
And Riley is more a victim of circumstance than Azure was, but this book still felt klunky to me.
There's a lot of /talk/ about urgency to attempt a rescue of Ashlyn, but not much actual urgency to rescue her.
And then there's the Riley/Fog dynamic. It just didn't do much for me. They both claim not to want to get into a relationship and that they feel nothing but some chemistry for each other, but they fall for each other anyway. It just didn't feel real, it felt like it was needed for the readers.
Also, I think we were at 60+% before they did the deed, so I'm wondering how much chemistry did they really have? Is not even like they were messing around before that. It like the higher-ups demand this of us, so let's get it on.

Dragon Hunter
My poor Fog finally found true love! He was nicely arrogant with a good heart. He got jokes & I loved how he stood his ground and kept his promise. Riley (love the name) was so relatable, and I will say it again- I LOVE Melina! I don’t know how she can keep a business going though 😂 That woman gives so much shit away it’s crazy😂
Can we get Avalanche’s story already? I am in such a mood for the big grumpy badass!
Read: 05/10/2021 1st rating: 3 stars Genre/tropes: Paranormal/shifter/dragons Cover: 3.5 stars (if the girl had straight hair it would be perfect) POV’s: Dual -3rd person (Riley & Fog) Will I recommend: Yes
Loved it, I love Fog he's an amazing guy..stubborn but loyal as hell. And Riley is a sassy kind of gal who was a bit unorthodox, but you can't blame her after what her dad did to their family. But Fog was dead set on not finding a mate but found one anyway and now he's head over heels in love . Riley and him is a good match and her mom will most likely love living with her in her new home, with good friends, and a new beginning...now I am so curious to find out about Avalanche, my thing is why he did what he did..I kind of wander about him..is he one of them..hey I know you all might be thinking the same thing, why would he do that to his Friend.. Anyway can't way to read his story...big fan as always Charlene
Fog and Melina really make this book. They are not the couple but are good characters. Fog is on a hunt with the team and he find a human female running. Fog tries to talk to Riley and help her. She is rattled and wanting help. Finally Riley accepts help from Fog. If you read the first book, then you know that there is a fifth clan of Dragons. They are not as well socialized and the Dragon Kings are trying to figure out how to handle this news. Fog is a good and cocky male but he is right for shy Riley. This is another slow burn, however, the main two characters are more mature than Ice and Azure and less painful in their journey to accept being mates. Read On!
Another great book by Charlene Hartnady! And another great book in this series. I'm so glad Fog got his book. He is so sweet and let's his heart lead him. Riley has been thru a bad experience that leaves her very wary of men, especially good looking men like Fog. Riley along with her bff get abducted but Riley gets away. She is a very good person and refuses to leave dragon land until she gets her friend rescued. Fog is going to help her. In spite of them both insisting that they are not in a relationship, they cant resist each other. I couldnt put this book down and cant wait for the next one in the series!!
I love Charlene's books. I received a free copy to review and wow. I am not disappointed. This episode of hotness...no...no "hotness" doesn't begin to portray the raw sex appeal of Fog. Ugh I love him. He's sweet and spicy. Poor thing had his heart broken and then along comes Riley. Riley is a gal that can be your best friend and partner in crime. She cares avidly for her friends and is willing to fight tooth and nail for them. This work or sexy art had my stomach in butterflies and my toes curling. You must explore the pages and follow the epic juicy story of Fog and Riley.
Another great story by Charlene Hartnady. Fog and Riley's relationship develops out of necessity! Riley is determined to save her friend and Fog is determined to help her! But there are things in Riley's past that make her not want to open her heart.
I really like that Charlene finally address's an issue that I have had with the Kings of the different tribes. I think that she works it in well to the storyline but it doesn't take away from Riley and Fog's relationship. They scenes are hot and the story pulls you in right off the bat. I can't wait for the next installment!
Dragon Hunter: Air Dragons Series: Book 2 By Charlene Hartnady Kindle unlimited purchase Riley and Ash were have a great night until they were plucked from the sky. Riley escaped running into the arms of Fog. I recommend reading this series in order as the story continues just the couples change. I thought that book 1 was great well that was until I read this book. Dragon Heat Dragon Hunter Dragon Avalanche Dragon Overlord release date Feb 26, 2022
DNF…struggled with story, it’s like author is taking a general outline, and plugging different names in, and changing up story a bit. FMC in this story is unlikeable to me…but then I was a big Fan of Azure (previous book on series)and this MMC is heart broken over Azure and Ice mating????? What!!!!! Fog had years to woo Azure, and in his book he’s heartbroken….I am not getting it. Think author is putting in drama to be drama..so I stopped reading it.
I really am enjoying this new series & this second book is all I’d hoped with Fog & Riley. From the very start when Riley & her friend Ashlyn were kidnapped after a great night out. To when Riley meets Fog & realises that dragons are real. She needs their help to get Ashlyn back but Thunder & Storm are not as surprised about the cave dragons or very willing to help. Good storyline & I'm looking forward to the next one in this series
This is an amazing read!! Riley's adventure in dragon territory is totally unplanned after being abducted. She meets Fog and it only gets better from there. I highly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down. A must read you will not be disappointed. Charlene has a way with words, a wonderful author! Well written and great storyline. All around great series!
Dragon Hunter, book 2 in Charlene Hartnady's Air Dragon series. This book will have you laughing and snickering out loud. Fog and Riley are wonderful together. I can't wait to see what happens next with Ashlyn and what becomes of Avalanche. I love this series and the entire set of series that came before. This world that Charlene Hartnady has created will draw you in and have you reading every book she has available.
Ahh My Little Fog reeling from his unrequited love. Fog finds himself stuck in a lot of madness when he catches that flash of pink that is Riley in his land. This book gave a great POV of Riley discovering dragons and all that comes with it. Fog was strong dominate male, then hear him complaining his throat hurt from all the growling and snarling. Fog and Riley worked well as a couple and enjoyed the subplot of the 5th tribe.
This book has a little of everything. A little spice, a dash of comedy, a hint of mystery, and a touch of reality. As an older woman who grew up with a boatload of insecurities of which I spent most of my life learning to overcome, the main character was very relatable, and the main love interest made me wish that there were real men out there just like him!
Charlene has done it again! I absolutely love these dragons! Fog was just the sweetest! Riley had issues but she finally came around. So many secrets! This was such an awesome read with fantastic characters! I can’t wait to see what happens with Avalanche and Ashlyn! Highly recommend this series! Received arc and am voluntarily leaving an honest review
Another amazing story from Charlene Hartnady! I love these dragons!! Fog was a perfect hero for me, i do so love a dirty talker.
I am now eagerly awaiting the next story, desperate to see what happens with Avalanche! Another soft spot for me is the gruff and grunting hero, swoooon!
