I mistakenly thought this was a werewolf book so was surprised to find it a shifter book of several genres. The main shifters here are sirens. The main character, Ollie, finds her mate and that’s not good news. See, her mate is a wolf and laws make it illegal and basically impossible to be mated to another type of shifter…. rejection is a must.
Easier said than done though. Marcus, her mate, will be his pack’s alpha and must be mated at that time…. even if it’s a ‘chosen’. That’s the problem. Neither Marcus or Ollie want to reject the other but there seems no way to circumvent that. UNLESS …. could there be a way around the law?
👁^👁 OBSERVATIONS:
➦ This was a quick read whose main characters are high school age, thus there is some immaturity.
➦ I prefer more ‘plot’ and less unnecessary talk.
➦ This is not erotica like iBooks states. There is one steamy scene which I skipped over. I almost didn’t read this when I saw the erotica label on iBooks. Thus wanted to point out what I read did have one steamy scene but that was all.
➦ There is a followup book. I’m assuming that is where the wars and challenges will take place. We are told about a prophecy to be fulfilled concerning mates.

I randomly picked this book and started reading it, and OMG what a page turner! pretty much finished it in one sitting.
This is the first book I've read by this author and what a wonderful writer she is. The book has hooked me since the first chapter. It's an amazing story about a forbidden love between two shifters, so it's a very slow burn, with a lot of action, wonderful characters and an unbelievably great storyline.
I highly recommend this book to all those curious readers who enjoy a solid storyline and a wonderful fantasy world. I can't wait to start the second part!!!

Romeo & Juliet of the Shifting World
What a great story about Shifters who are mated and can’t be together due to the Law. I love Olivia and Marcus and I must say for a little while I was even rooting for Damon. But I’m so glad that he ended being like another brother to her. Samantha and Tyson are perfect for each other. I really liked Tyson at first, but then he got too sneaky.
Honestly, the characters are great and I really loved living this with them.
I wanted more. So I can’t wait to see what happens. I really hope Marcus doesn’t claim Samantha as his Luna. Fingers crossed.

Fate can be a cruel companion
Having a book with more than one shifter is fantastic; having a book with Dragons is excellent. The author does a brilliant job crafting a story that pulls you in quickly. You rapidly find yourself rooting for the young couple whose love is forbidden. Prepare to lose some sleep as you are whisked into Olivia’s amazing world, where she has to decide if she will follow the rules or follow her heart.

A great, fast paced paranormal romance full of unrequited love, forbidden love and “love” triangles. Full of drama, emotion, magic, shifters and romance. Olivia and Marcus's story is one of forbidden love, shifters are not ment to mix with other kinds but when date intertwine is there a loop hole for these two to be together? So, this is the first of a duet in a new series. The two books are about Marcus, a wolf shifter and Olivia, a siren shifter. In this world, there are different types of shifters, and the first shift occurs when they at age 18, and at that time the shifters can scent and recognize their mate. However, there was a war between the shifters and the elders decreed that it was illegal to mate outside your species. If anyone found a mate outside, they had to verbally repudiate them. Olivia is about to turn 18 and going to high school and Marcus ends up going to her high school (because his had a fire). They come face to face soon after Olivia turns 18 and find out they are each other’s mates. Now what do they do?
I enjoyed the authors writing. I like how she describes things, builds a plot, and introduces us to the struggle that the two main characters have. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the book. Nearly all the book was about the day-day push and pull between Marcus and Olivia, and all the situations and people getting in the way. After about 2/3 of the book being about that I really got sick of it. I recognize that the author was building some angst and background, but the book just moved so slowly. This feeling was compounded by reading the second book where I felt too many things were rushed. The pacing of the books was just too off. Having said that she did manage to keep my attention for most of the book and the characters were interesting. She also gives multiple points of view and its nice to see the POV from the people who are the “barriers.”

What a great story about Shifters who turn out to be Mates, but can't be together because of a law that doesn't allow shifters of different types to be together. I love Olivia ( Ollie ) and Marcus and I have to say I was even for Damon for a while but was glad their feelings for each other were more like brother and sister. Samantha and Tyson are a perfect match. Both sneaky and underhanded. They deserve each other.
But still honestly the characters are great and I loved experiencing this with them.
So I wanted to read more, but it ended. So I can't wait to see what happens. I really hope Marcus doesn't claim Samantha as his Luna.
Read it and make up your own mind about it. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Loved it!
I loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. I read it in a day! I need to know more!!! I was really pulled into the story. I haven’t read a lot in this genre and I was amazed at how much I liked this one!! Great story!! I have to go see if there’s another book to this!!!

Olivia needed time to be stronger for herself before she could be strong for Marcus. They both needed to grow spear first. The action adventure in this book made me read it in one night. EXCELLENT job.

This is the 1st book in the “Moon Series”. This is a fast paced easy quick read, page turner, action packed, forbidden love, drama, magic and romance. Olivia is 17 years old and Marcus is 18 years old and they are shifters. Marcus and Olivia are forbidden to be mated because they are from two different species. So what happens when the moon gifts shifters their fated mates and they can’t accept said fated mate. Olivia is the Siren’s daughter and Marcus is to become the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack.

Amanda Steel has done a great job with Volume 2 of The Moons Gift. Featuring Olivia and Marcus a couple of years after Volume 1, the suspense is intense on whether or not they will deny their fated mating or break the "rules" laid forth by the shifter council. How does the dragon shifter Damien play into their relationship? Will Tyson and Samantha get their wish to break up Olivia and Marcus? Read this book to find out! You will not be sorry!
