She has her hands full as a single parent, and while she’s not looking for a serious relationship, she sure wouldn’t mind getting laid. So she creates the “Howl List”. Every full moon, she will indulge in a different sexual fantasy. Right at the top? Sex without strings.

Fate leads her to the Blue Moon bar. After all, what better place to howl? And when she meets Jake, the sexy bartender, and engages in some red-hot sex with a stranger, her resolution seems to be off to a great start.

WOW!!!! What an amazingly fun and happy book. This is the second book in the Second Chances series and I thought it was just as good as the first one. I truly love the concept of this series. 5 girlfriends trying to make their lives better each in their own way....but built into to each is a very sweet and steamy love story. This book is no different. We are sent into the life and story if Josie in this book. Josie is a single mother trying to move on from her divorce and cheating ex. So she creates a Howl List....which is sexual fantasies that she wants to carry out. This is where Jake is introduced into the story....he is her first situation in the list (sex with a stranger). From there Jake figures out a way to get to experience all of her listed items. Jake was an AMAZING character....I absolutely feel in love with him. He almost seem to good to be true. I really liked watching their relationship grow over the many months and experiences that created together.

I would definitively recommend this book to anyone who is a fan if book 1 (Fix You). I will state that even though this is the second book it runs concurrently with the time frame of book 1. So you do get see a lot of the other female characters in this book we don't get to see what is happening with Rob and Zoey after their book. I will also say that Fix You SHOULD be read before this one because this book does contain spoilers for book 1.

Sweet n hot romance between a single divorced mom and a ONS that turns into something long term. H was hot and amazing, (too understanding to be true sometimes IMO). I could have done without the drama from h's cheating ex. Tommy, the h's 6 yr old son was adorable:) Safe romance.

I really enjoyed Jake and Josie's story. Jake was hard not to love and Josie was the type of person who you want to find their happily ever after.

There aren't nearly as many single mom romances as their are single dad ones, so I enjoyed seeing how that was dealt with in the story. Josie's ex is a thorn in her side and has an ego to boot. He created a good deal of drama in the story, but I was pleased with how the author dealt with the situations that arose.

As is implied in the blurb, there is quite a bit of sex in this book, but it in no way takes away from the story. I plan to add more of this author's books to my TBR list.

2.5 stars...I think 3 stars is too generous to reflect how I feel about this book.
Very straight forward story line. Everything the MC wants she gets in the form of a kind, gentle, but self assured, self sufficient hunk. This story pretty much just shows you how MC makes a list of activities she would like to perform each full moon and the guy who is willing to perform them.

Dare You is a fantastic contemporary romance by Mari Carr. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Carr has once again provided readers with an engaging story filled with lovable and fun characters. For the past two years Josie's life has been the same every day, with an occasional girls' night. She's written a list and has a different howl for each month's full moon. Jake meets Josie on her first night to howl when she picks his bar to meet someone. Jake and Josie's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle and a pain in the butt ex-husband. I loved every page of this book and look forward to my next book by Mari Carr. Dare You is book 2 of the Second Chances Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I happen to love Mari Carr and her works. I was pleased to have read the second book, Full Moon, in her new series Second Chances. The whole premise of this series is a group of 6 women making changes in their life and starting the New Year with a set goal in mind. This is the story of Josie in her quest for howling. Howling you say? She wants to come up with a list of things she wants to try in bed when she is still young enough and limber enough to strike the poses. So every full moon she wants to take an item on her list and see if she can do it. You go girl! I like a girl who is going to go after what she wants. Josie has been divorced for two years now with a 6 year old son and had a husband who wasn’t faithful in their marriage. A past like that could leave a woman scarred and unwilling to trust, but Josie wanted to get herself out there and try again.

First on her list is sex with a stranger. She heads to a bar called Blue Moon, (how appropriate for her Howl List), orders a drink and strikes up a conversation with a very attractive man. After a couple of drinks she thinks she might get lucky when it all falls apart due to the bartender’s explanation that this man is married and prowling without a ring. But all is not lost when the bartender himself and Josie hit it off. Thinking that it was going to be hard to find a man to fit the bill for her sex with a stranger, Josie and Jake have great chemistry together and definitely tear up the sheets. She has plenty of warm memories in the weeks to come in between full moons. Before you know it she’s back at the bar with her friend Shelly to have a go at her second item on her list, sex in public, when she sees Jake again and he’s more than willing to be her partner again. What ends up happening is that Jake ‘coerces’ her into being part of all her future full moons and that is alright with Josie.

I would have to say that this is one of the easiest books to read because there wasn’t much angst or drama but a whole lotta sex and loving. Jake turns out to be the easiest hero to love because he was just so perfect in the story. He’s gentle, patient and does not push Josie’s boundaries before she is ready. Josie’s Howl List is a good one and I looked forward to reading how she was going to go about it with Jake. And boy were those full moons HOT! What’s on her list is nothing too kinky but definitely not vanilla. It is definitely something to look at if you yourself were thinking of shaking up your own sex life.
Having a 6 year old son who comes first and foremost in a single mother’s life is a part of this story as well as the ex-husband Tony. This story had to include them because this was Josie and her life. There is nothing glamorous about it, but she is doing the best she can for her and her son. There is a bit of drama when Tony’s life crumbles apart, but Josie and Jake handle it, and action speaks louder than words. The final confrontation scene between Josie and Tony was important for both of them because maybe they can both move on with their lives.

I liked that the other women were included in this story. We see them celebrating Kristen’s birthday and Laura advises Josie on second guessing herself. Shelly accompanies Josie to the bar and meets someone, whom I’m curious whether he’ll be her love interest. Can’t wait to see what is in store for each of them because they’ve become close friends to one another, and not just neighbors living in connected townhomes on the same street.

I had been looking forward to reading Josie’s story with her Howl List of exploring her sexual boundaries and it did not disappoint. Mari Carr has some great series out there and this one is no doubt in my mind going to be a great one as well. Full Moon has all the right elements of a contemporary erotica story with a daring heroine who’s willing to push her sexual boundaries with just the right man. For me this was a quick and easy read and leaving me wanting more at the end.

Josie Jacobson is ready to break out of her mundane life and have a few adventures. The divorced, single mother has realized that her life is nothing but boring responsibility and routines. She’s been busy raising her son and getting over the end of her marriage to her high school sweetheart. New Year’s is a time for resolutions and with the help of her best girlfriends she’s come up with a “Howl List’, every full moon she’s going to broaden her sexual horizons and mark a fantasy off her list. First up: Sex with a Stranger.

January’s full moon leads her to the appropriately named Blue Moon bar and one sexy, tattooed bartender named Jake. Jake is up for a no names, no strings good time and takes Josie home. Josie and Jake set the page on fire from their very first encounter. She’s been celibate for two years and her only other partner was her ex-husband so she doesn’t know what to expect, but Jake gives her everything she knew she was missing. When they part at the end of the night, it’s with no exchanging of phone numbers or expectations that they will ever see each other again. But Josie can’t seem to get her first full moon off her mind which leads her right back to Blue Moon in February. Next on the list: Sex in Public.

Jake’s been thinking about Josie for the last month and can’t believe it when she finally walks back through the doors of his bar. He’s not going to let a chance like this pass him by. He wants to be the only man that she sees on her full moon nights and he’s willing to play dirty to get them. This couple sets out on a sexual exploration, but along the way they find a compatibility and easiness around each other that is charming.

I liked Josie and Jake as a couple. She’s tough, sensible, but also has some issues with trust and letting someone new into the protective shell she’s created around her son after the divorce. I could completely understand her need to protect him and liked the fact that she was a little wary of bringing a new man around. Jake and Josie have a lot of sex… lots and lots, in many varied ways. They blaze through Josie’s list and each month gets hotter than the last. So much sex that it could have taken over the storyline and overshadowed the romance, but that never happened. Each love scene is a nice mixture of sweet and sexy, emotion and playfulness. Jake is just what this single mother needs, he’s understanding to her needs, both sexual and emotional, he’s steady, understanding and open. In a contemporary romance world of asshole alpha heroes, Jake is alpha, but he’s nice.

Full Moon is the second book in the Second Chances series, but can be read as a standalone. Josie’s girlfriends are there for support and while Ms. Carr gives hints that their stories are playing out alongside Josie’s, they stay nicely in the background. I expected this to be a sexy read, and was a little surprised at how lovely this couple’s romance turned out. Now I’m curious to learn more about the other ladies of this close-knit group and discover if their New Year’s resolutions play out as well as Josie’s. Final Grade: B-

Favorite Quote:

“What’s the next fantasy?” He’d continue to press for the answer until she told him.

“Bondage.”

He blew out a long, impressed whistle. “Oh, hell yeah. That one is definitely mine.”

She laughed. “You know, this isn’t like calling dibs or shotgun. Just because you say it’s yours doesn’t mean I’m going to give it to you.”

I am more than I little disappointed from the book. After fix you I expected to be in tears again but that didn't happen. It wasn't the kind of book I would read again, but I would suggest to a friend to try it. It was a pleasant way to spend my afternoon. It's not a bore but it's not as exicting as fix you. This reminded me of Carr's writing and it was easier to belive it was her book and not someone's else.

Half the book is about the Full Moon fanatsies and the other half about her life outside of them. There is only 1 POV (Josie's). I most definitely read the next book ASAP though. Just because I didn't like this much it doesn't mean that I will stop thinking that the series is worth reading.

The end felt a little rushed. I don't know what I wanted for the end but it wasn't what I got. No heartbreak, no heartache which seems that I think that now is a part of every novel I read.

Plese not that the book works fine as a stand alone and maybe it didn't work for me because I was expecting something similar to Fix you.

That was a lot of fun!! I loved Josie almost as much as I loved Jake! Josie's New Year's resolution was a new sexual adventure on every full moon. On her first full moon she meets Jake, he quickly determines he wants all her full moons. And soon he wants it all. He was patient and understanding and all around perfect! As Josie was a divorced single mom, he needed to be. I loved how she put her son first, so important for me. This didn't feel like a novella, Mari Carr can fit an awful lot into a few pages and do it well. I am sooo looking forward to the next book in this series!

Short, sweet and sexy

3.5 stars
Josue is ready for some fun. She’s 2 years post divorce, raising a young son and wanting to remember what it felt like to be desired. So, she’s created a Howl List which includes some fun and kinky activities that she wants to try each month. She just didn’t expect that it would be the same guy each month but Jake is very convincing.
Jake owns the Blue Moon bar and is intrigued by Josie almost immediately. When she shares the idea behind the Howl List he’s all in. He didn’t expect to feel this attraction, though and now he wants to be here go-to for each sexy activity.
How these 2 navigate the fun of the list, jealous ex-husbands and wary kids makes for a good read. Add in some serious sexy sexiness and this book packs a punch in a short package!

Four and a half stars.

Dare You, the second in Mari Carr's Second Chances series, features Josie, a divorced mom of a six-year-old, and Jake, a single bar owner whom Josie chances to meet. Josie's made a New Year's resolution of sorts, of the sexually adventurous kind. It will be Jake (and Josie's) great pleasure to help her fulfill her desires.

Dare You is fun, sexy, and also emotionally true. Josie and Jake navigate the treacherous waters of meeting a new someone, dealing with an ex, and juggling one's own changing feelings as a relationship progresses. Ms Carr's writing is easy and enjoyable to read, and the pages flew by in a flash.

Very much looking forward to reading the rest of this series and seeing how each of the five friends lives up to her year!

Although this book was short, there was a lot packed into it and I really enjoyed it. Josie is a single mom who makes a New Year's resolution list of things she wants to do over the next year - she calls it her Howl List, as she'll do one thing each month on the full moon. The first thing on the list - have sex with a stranger. She goes to a bar and ends up with the sexy bartender, Jake. Jake convinces Josie to use him for fulfilling her list wishes. I really liked Jake, although I wish there had been more info on him (but, short book, lack of many details.) The book runs concurrently with the other books in the series where a group of friends each gets their own stories. I'm looking forward to reading about the other girls in the group!

It's been two miserable years since Josie's husband divorced her and her life went up in flames. Thanks to her best friends they kept her grounded with her son. To shake things up Josie has come up with a howl list that she would go through to fulfill what's missing in her life. On her very first howl item she meets a man that she thinks will do only to find out he is married which takes her back to the reason she is divorce. When Jake ask to help out with the item, their journey begins and when he ends up doing most of the items on the list, their bond solidifies but as they get closer, her ex wants back into the picture. Will his reappearance bring their relationship to a stop? This draws you in and have you cheering Josie on to get some happiness that she deserves!

Sweet & sexy

Single mom, frustrated after being left by her husband and the only man she has ever had sex with, tries to expand her sexual horizons by making a list of fantasies, with a New Years' resolution to fulfill the 12 of them in the coming year. Her 1st month is "sex with a stranger," and she hits the jackpot when she ends up hooking up with fun & sexy bar owner Jake. He fulfills the 1st fantasy with aplomb, and volunteers to help with the rest of the list. Josie is hesitant to let her guard down and get attached. There are some hot scenes, and Jake is a sweet, supportive, and understanding guy, hoping for more with Josie.

New love unexpectedly

Josie was a divorced single mom, that was finally ready to move on. It has been years and she was ready to explore her wild side. She thinks Jake just might be the bad boy for her. Jake, however isn't a bad boy at all. He is down to make her fantasies come true, but he wants more. Jake was so patient, sweet, and understanding with Josie and I loved that for her. They took their time and eased into a relationship. I wanted to know more about Jake, who he was, what allowed him to be so patient. Overall it was a solid read.

I loved how he was with Josie and with her ex as well. This is an amazing group of friends who are slowly finding their forevers regardless if it’s easy or not. This series is not to be missed. Mari Carr writes phenomenally addicting stories that make you crave more. Dare You (Second Chances, book 2) is what every woman wishes for; a man who supports her and the choices she makes without dominating or challenging those decisions. These six friends show how strong women take hold of their lives and begin again - on their terms. Can't wait to see what Just You (Second Chances, book 3) has in store.

Full moons are the best ❤️🌕💙

Josie and Jake are such a cute couple. I really like how Josie put herself out there. After a young marriage that falls apart because her husband is a cheating cheater who cheats, Josie puts herself out there in a way I found bold and admirable.

I loved Jake’s character. There wasn’t a moment I didn’t like him. He’s the perfect second chance at love. Their story was great and her Howl list was hot 🔥🔥

One night to fate making it forever

I loved K
Jake and Josie! Jake was s patient waiting for Josie to come to her senses. He had to rely on fate, because they didn’t exchange any name or numbers. Josie was a strong female character. After her past, being cautious was important. She never planned to find someone, she just wanted to enjoy life a little more. And she certainly found what she got, was way better than her Full Moon List!

What An Unique Take On Second Chances

I thoroughly enjoyed the ease of this romance between Josie and Jack. Yes, at times Jack was some amazing guru, but it was so necessary for this romance to work. He was a man who knew who he was and what he wanted. His positive outlook helped Josie find the strength to move forward.
This was a new to me author and now I must read her backlist.

I never make New Years resolutions. I never intend to keep them. Apparently I need a Howl list! That would be a sex list of things to try on every full moon. The very HOT good nummy sex! This story has amazingly hot scenes, funny moments, caring and loving times. Highly recommended. I'm loving this series!

When your stuck in a rut sometimes a girl just needs to jump off the deep end and howl.

This is an amazing story about what can happen when you open yourself to new experience, even if it takes you awhile to realise how open you need to be. Life's full of second chances and sometimes you have to go out and get it before life works out.

Sexy mama

This book is about a single, divorced mom who goes that her "second chance" will be about fun, no strings attached sex in ways that she's never experienced. The misnomer in the title is the "bad boy" description, because Make is not and sexy, but is also a very kind and caring person. Good addition to the series.

A sexy short read with all the feels...

I love the premise of these women supporting each other as they move on from unsatisfactory lives. Josie and Jake have a sort of attraction at first sight thing going on then find out how compatible they are (I would say in bed, but they don’t use a bed that much). Yeah, it’s a sexy story. And a low angst romantic read.
