The book starts with a general intro of literal building blocks to strive for when aiming for good, healthy eating and living. There's also a useful list of ingredients and their specific benefits, as well as store cupboard staples. The recipes themselves are a decent selection of healthy looking recipes, (lovely photography of both the food and of course, Joe Wick's very photogenic family!) including a fair balance of both veg and meat ones. The ingredients all look to be ones available in your average supermarket and there are some tips for variants and substitutes where appropriate. The recipes cover all times of day and occasion, from breakfasts and snacks through to tray-bakes, hearty crowd-pleasers and desserts. They also include a range of cuisine.

I've tried a few already and I'd rate the book a solid 3.8 - it would have been higher but I would have liked to have seen an overall prep/cook time with the ingredients so I know how long something will take before I start - this was missing and timings scattered within the recipe steps. Also, I had to increase the amounts - when it says 'serves 4', I'm not sure those amounts cater for the appetites of the 2 adults and 2 growing teenagers in our household. However, the recipes I've used so far (mainly big supper stuff) have all gone down very well, with the kids even eating meals with mushrooms in :) so we'll definitely be trying more! Particularly with increases in food costs, we're looking to cook better and this should certainly help.

I'm not going to give this recipe book a star rating because I feel like I need to try the majority of recipes to do that, but what I will say is that this collection of recipes definitely delivers on its promises. In my mind, this has become the 'clean eating' cookbook, of the cookbook collection. It definitely succeeds in being healthy and a nice boost to feeling like I'm looking after myself after eating a meal from in this book!

In NZ at the moment we are finding inflation costs are causing the price of food to sky rocket, especially in the fresh food sections. As a result, some of these recipes had ingredients which were a bit too pricey for us, however, they were relatively easy to replace with stuff already in the pantry.

Thank you to Harper Collins for sending me this novel to review. I promise that the gifting of this book has not, in any way, stopped me from sharing my true thoughts about the text.

Happy to see that handsome men get equal opportunity in floods of photos in their cookbooks, but it’s annoying. Why has this become a trend, especially with female cookbook authors who also happen to be attractive? Handsome as the author is, I’m here for the recipes, of which I’ve tried a few & will save a few for later.

An excellent cookbook. I highly recommend this. It was so good I've bought 5 other Joe Wicks cookbooks.

We loved using this when weaning. Our favourites were:
- black bean beef, basil and peanut stir fry
- roasted Brussels sprout carbonara
- swedish meatballs with celeriac & potato mash

Super fussy recipes that don’t take time, budget, or consistent food access into consideration. I hate cookbooks that gatekeep healthy cooking and only include recipes that can be made by people with lots of time, money, and access to high end grocery stores and farmers markets.

In addition to the above, not an original idea was to be found. It felt like re-treads of recipes seen elsewhere.
