Starting January 1, I read a bit of this everyday for about a week. 8 days into the year, I think I'm gonna give up, as it sadly isn't for me.
Back when I was in organized religion, one of the few daily rituals I loved was the daily devotion. I loved sitting down and reading something over my morning coffee, and then taking a few minutes and savor over what I just read. Now that I'm no longer in a religion, I'm still really itching to do something similar. I kept seeing a whole host of these kinds of books on Kindle Unlimited, so I was really excited to pick one and try having a routine like this again.
Sadly, a week is all I'll read this book for. I found the daily texts to be really surface-level. There's no thought put into any of these, it's just 365 days of "Live laugh love" and "Love laugh live" and there's absolutely nothing that means to stick with you emotionally or even intellectually.
I'm still super into the idea of a secular daily reading, and I have something else I wanna try in mind, but if anyone has any suggestions, I'm more than open to it! For now, I don't feel too bad skipping out on this series.
