In 1988 I was 8 years old and my Mom and Stepdad were rooting for Mike Dukakis for President. I even went to the voting booth with my Stepdad which helped propel me to a bachelor's degree in Political Science over 15 years later! I picked up this book to find out more about the man that my parents were rooting for that day. The book was written before the '88 election so it is very neutral and objective; it tells about his life, family, his work as a Massachusetts legislator, and then as Governor of Massachusetts I enjoyed reading about this man who climbed the political ladder and his reasons for doing so.
