Missing lithium bottles, a tall and dreamy science teacher, a possibly promiscuous Phineas. Just another day in my new small town life.
My return to Perry, Kansas hasn’t been met with a missing woman like last time, but rather a found one. She doesn’t know who or where she is, but I go straight from that mystery to a request to look into a husband’s possible indiscretion.
At least I get to discuss these cases with Dean, but he is a bit preoccupied with lithium bottles missing from his chemistry lab.
I moved back home to help out at my family’s archery shop. The fact that my Uncle is angry and resentful toward me is making this difficult. I love being in the shop and getting to practice more. This is put to good use when my trusty bow saves a stranger in the alley behind the shop.
Between my impromptu investigations, the shop, a stranger with a secret and missing explosive chemicals this small town is anything but slow paced.
Book 1 in the series, but if you join her newsletter you can get the prequel to the series and I highly recommend joining.
This is a small town cozy set in Perry Kansas. I feel like it could be any one of Kansas’ small towns though. Diners, ice cream shops, friends from high school who never moved away, and families who have planted their roots and have a long history in the area are what you will find in this book. But don’t fret - you will have a fair amount of mysteries to solve too!
I found this to be a pretty quick read that will keep you entertained till the very last word.
A fun read about Grace and Dean's adventures when they move back to Perry, it's not only fun it's well-written too with characters who are well-drawn and easy to relate to. An interesting mystery with a touch of humour that involves her family and her bearded dragon! Perry seems like an interesting place to visit.
Amber Ward writes a a good cozey mystery with colorful characters and multiple mystery in one cozey. If you enjoy an eradice mystery that bounces from one delema from another and then back again this the cozey. Acquire " A Missing Element " today for an entertaining read. Kat
An interesting set of mysteries - three in the same story - which kept me reading when I should have been doing other things! I have not read any of the other stories in this series, but I will follow them up.
I finished day before yesterday, and I barely recall it. The archery shop - a different venue for a cozy - and the relationship with Dean seemed promising. The heinous crime perpetuated by the grandfather is given short shrift and almost too much forgiveness.
Still, there is no real thread throughout, and the "why" is less-than-believable.
