Lieutenant Devlin is falling for the wrong curvy girl… the one he’s investigating.

Devlin:
I’m finishing up some reports when the unexpected happens.
Someone backs into my parked patrol car.
When the woman behind the wheel steps out…
I realize that I’m standing face-to-face with a curvy criminal.
It just so happens that she’s also the woman of my dreams.
I shouldn’t ask her to grab a cup of coffee…
And I shouldn’t have her over for her dinner…
And we shouldn’t be doing it up against the front door…
But it all blows up when Eliana finds out I’m investigating her.
How am I going to make things right?
She’s the woman of my dreams, and I’ve got to fix this.

Lieutenant Devlin is book two in the Protect & Serve: Cops Love Curves series that features alpha male police officers going above and beyond the law for curvy citizen vixens. These sinfully sweet treats can be read in any order.

Cute with steam

This is cute story about a very bad day and fate. It ends more as a HFN than a HEA. Nothing bad, but there’s no epilogue and that would have tied it up well. It’s still a great story with steam and I recommend.

I realize this is a short story, but it should contain a complete story. Eliana is fired from her job and being charged with embezzlement based on only the fact her computer, accessible by anyone, was used. That's it. There is no ending to the mystery of who did it or if the charges were dropped. Outside of the sexy scenes, the instalove romance was corny and juvenile.

Good but too many loose ends for me

Lieutenant Devlin is the second book in the Protect & Serve: Cops Love Curves series and is the story of Eliana Kessler and Devlin Ford. Eliana is a good southern girl who moved from Kentucky to Somerset, Florida a couple of years ago. She first worked as a waitress at IHOP but has been working as the receptionist at Rathbone & Harrison Financial Firm. One Monday morning she arrives at work only to be called into the bosses office and be accused of embezzlement and then she is fired. Eliana is definitely not an embezzler but it was her computer that the transactions totaling $200K were traced to. It does not matter that she never set her password so that anyone could do the dirty deed. After a good cry in her car she is ready to leave only to end up putting it in reverse by mistake and backing into another car. As it turns out it was a police car and so she meets Lieutenant Ford. Devlin was called to the offices of Rathbone & Harrison because of a reported embezzlement. So having his car backed into by the woman who is being accused of the crime is not quite what he expected. Plus being attracted to her and then crossing the line and asking her if he can go with her to get the coffee she was about to get.....so not what he was expecting. It seems that Devlin was just waiting for the right woman to back into his patrol car.

This is a fast-paced and smex filled story. I have to be honest and say that the story-line jumped around a bit and definitely did not go with what would happen in the real world. But I did enjoy the fun and frivolousness of the book. My real issue is the ending as if I was Eliana and Devlin was the man who I had fallen for and he for me then I would have expected a lot more from him to help me out if I was set-up, and he believed me. But that is just me so ......

Instant Attraction . . .

This day is not going at all well for Eliana. She was just fired from her job due to being accused of embezzling. Then she backs up her car into a police vehicle! The angry cop, Lieutenant Devlin, is the one assigned to investigate her embezzling case, but the moment he sees her, he knows she is meant for him. He asks her to go for coffee. How will she react when she finds out he is investigating her? Will he get himself taken off the case so he can find out who framed her? Do the two of them have a future together if he can clear her name?

Another short and steamy hit from Kelsie. Devlin is a keeper with his personality and heat. He meets Eliana when she accidentally reverses into his car. Knowing she’s had the worse day ever, he makes it his mission to improve her day but asking her out for coffee and then a dinner date. The heat between Devlin and Eliana is super hot! Check it out!

3 1/2 ⭐ This is well written and I like the characters but it feels like a couple of scenes instead of a complete short story. I would really like to know more about the crime and who is involved. I hope the author expands this story because Eliana and Devlin are hot together. Other stories I have read felt more complete even though they are also shorts.

Almost ~

This book was ok, and it had the potential to be much better. There was some good parts and other parts that I have questions about. First of all, his job is to protect and serve, not service. His job he claims to love, with his actions, could get him fired. They jumped into the sex way to fast, hence the service comment. The story would have been better with the actual embezzler being caught. It left a lot to be desired, but it wasn’t all bad.

Great quick read only downfall to this story is that it just left you hanging about Eliana being accused of embezzlement. I would've like to see who actually did it. Maybe it's in another book who knows

Lieutenant Devlin

Great quick read, about timing and fate. She is having the worst day of her life but that is all about to change. Looking forward to reading the others in this series.

short

This was short and I’m a little annoyed at the end. There’s unresolved story plot. I’m not sure if there’s a part 2 or if it gets addressed in the next book of the series.
However this is a bit annoying but other than that I liked it.

fun read

This was a fun little read. Glad I read it. The only reason I didn’t give it more stars is because Eliana came across a bit simple-minded at times and there was no resolution to her work dilemma. I wanna know who did it!!!!! Gaaaahhhh

Like going to the fair, only to realize it left town

I got whiplash from hitting the end of the book out of nowhere. If you're not going to tie it all up, can we get an epilogue? Writing was good though.

Decent book

This short story has a young Lady getting fired. She gets hump in her car by a police officer. Things get interesting from there!

good book, but you never know what happens with her job. Kind of cheesy and unrealistic but all of these short stories are.
