Sometimes it takes getting lost to truly find one’s way home.
What happens when a blazing hot Brayden hero matches wits with a strong-willed Farthingale heroine and the mysterious Book of Love?
Camellia Farthingale, the youngest of the Devonshire Farthingale sisters, wants nothing to do with London and the Marriage Mart. However, she has agreed to go along with her sisters, Juniper and Willow, preferring to face the ordeal of a society debut with them rather than alone. But now her sisters have found love, and Cammy is on her own after all. She cannot go to London and runs away, for she harbors a secret she dares not tell anyone, not even Lorcan Brayden, the man charged with bringing her home. She has taken the Book of Love with her as she fled, but while reading it in quiet moments, she realizes that sometimes it takes running away to find the courage to face one’s fears. And that in pledging her heart to Lorcan she has found the strength to stand on her own.
Lorcan Brayden has been charged with finding Cammy and delivering her safely to London. He is determined to fulfill his mission since he is one of the Crown’s best agents and this is what he is trained to do. But he soon realizes there is more to Cammy’s fears than making her society debut. There is a killer waiting for her in London and she is the only one who can identify him. Lorcan has fallen in love with Cammy and will never let anyone hurt her. But even with all his training and prowess, can he protect the woman he loves? Especially as Cammy gains the courage to stand on her own?
Not every journey is measured in miles. Join Lorcan and Cammy as they take their Journey of Love.
Meara Platt is happily married to her Russell Crowe look-alike husband, and they have two terrific children. She lives in one of the many great towns on Long Island, New York, and loves it, except for the traffic. She has traveled extensively, occasionally lectures and finds time to write. Her favorite place in all the world is England’s Lake District, which may not come as a surprise since many of her stories are set in that idyllic landscape, including her Romance Writers of America Golden Heart award winning story.
Lorcan and Cammy, so beautiful together, they have an innate chemistry that is so sweet and passionate. A wonderfully written and very entertaining book from Meara.
I loved this book, it’s no Surprise, if you’ve read my other reviews on this series, to guess that it’s one of my favourites. The Brayden’s and the Farthingales together as a couple one again, pure pleasure.
I’m not into spoilers so I won’t ruin it, but don’t miss this one. I have to admit to being on the edge of my seat as to waiting for the next Brayden book.
Come on Meara, write quickly.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
An entertaining and fast-paced novel, I enjoyed this book, the characters, and the rescue of Cammy Farthingale. Driven by fear, Cammy makes her escape planning on returning home, rather than going to London with her sisters. London holds hidden dangers and Cammy knows her life would be forfeit if recognized. Lorcan has been entranced by Cammy from the moment he set his eyes upon her, but with his work for the Crown, he cannot afford to reveal his interest. However, when it is discovered that she is missing, Lorcan loses no time tracing her. Thus begins a journey that leads to love. I enjoyed the unfolding of this romance, the way in which Lorcan gently drew Cammy out and earned her trust, and the slow smolder that ignited and became a full-fledged romance. Although part of a series, this novel is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

A very well written past paced book with lovely characters. I loved both Lorcan & Cammy, the chemistry was wonderful but it was the way that Lorcan drew Cammy out & allied her fears & gained her trust that had me sighing. I devoured this book in two sittings as I found it very hard to put down. The book of Love worked its magic again My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
The Journey continues for the Book of Love! Now in the hands of Camellia Farthingale, she is determined not to go to London and decides to make a run for it.
Lorcan Brayden (sigh, yes how can you not love that name and his grunts!), agent for the crown, is determined to find her. Although he has diligently fought his feelings for Cammy, he will not be able to hold them back any longer!
Intrigue, suspense, danger with humor thrown in, and these two slowly build to acknowledge their feelings! An exciting, character driven story that will only leave you wanting more! Meara continues to be amazing (as if there is ever a doubt!)
Another couple smitten by The Book of Love! Cam is afraid to go to London for a season, so she runs away. Lor is sent to track her down. Already attracted to each other, they realize after spending several days alone together they must marry. Lor helps Cam to put her fears to rest. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Dragonblade Publishing for my honest review.
Brilliant! I really love this series. The Journey of Love is a very enjoyable and entertaining story. I loved it. I do love reading this author. Can't wait to read the next, if there is one? I will definitely be going to read the whole series again next year. 5☆
The Journey of Love by Meara was a love story almost from the beginning but only Lorcan knew it. Cammie did not. Cammie did not want to go to London for her season. She was frightened and she had good reason to be. She had not shared her reason with anyone but her sister, who kind of found out and had to be told. So, she took off for home on a mail coach. Sadly it was the wrong mail coach and by the time Lor caught up it was miles in the wrong direction. He had known she would be ruined and they would be forced to marry before he set out to retrieve her. He had no problem with that, he just needed to convince her. It was a lengthly journey to get her home and he took full advantage of it to woo her.
This was a highly entertaining piece of fluff, just like the others in the series. We all need a break now and the, don't we? The Farthingale women and Brayden men are notorious for falling for one another. Braydens are handsome and fearless and loyal. Cammie was a little different in her phobia about London. Lor lived and worked there. But as he got to know her, he found out why she was frightened and in typical Brayden fashion, he set out to solve the problem. He is the ideal man and why we read these books. He loves blindly and protects that which he loves. What a romantic story! Loved it!
I was invited to read a free e-ARC of The Journey of Love by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. #netgalley #dragonblade #thejourneyoflove #mearaplatt
I've read all the books in this series and this was a hit for me. All the stories center on the Book of Love. Seems when you read it with someone, it weaves it's magic and you end up marrying. I must state, that a few of the stories were repetitious in the series. The couples read/discussed the book and after awhile even I could recite it - lol.
This was a hit because it didn't center so much on the book. Yes, it is touched on but only a little. This has more suspense and intrigue in it. There is violence, but the one against the h is off page.
The H is a spy as are his brother's. He has fought his attraction to the h for sometime and finally is thrown in her way and their journey to HEA was fulfilling and certainly not smooth! The H is smart and loyal and when the men in his family fall - they fall hard. The h was a likable character but sometimes over thought things too much. She did find her voice and realized the H was the man for her.
There is foreplay outside of marriage and lovemaking within. Heat level on both 4 out of 5. I felt a connection to this couple, so it was filled with passion and love.
This story ends about 95% on my e-reader and rest is a hint at the next book of the series, which I will be reading.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, suspenseful, twists, romance, HEA and some steam. (ljb)
Lorcan aka Lor has been tasked with going after Cammy when she ran off rather than face a London ballroom! In truth Lor was floored by her beauty and could only grunt in response! This handsome, ruthless recently knighted agent for the crown is a Brayden and a man of action! Cammy has secrets she has not shared with her family and the scars to prove it! Cammy slowly starts to trust and confide in Lorcan. Bad weather and bad guys and not to mention Cammy on the wrong coach in the wrong direction!?? These all add up to a much longer story than previous stories. These two fall for each other fairly quickly but the number of bad guys and the level of trust involved makes this a journey of trust to love! Since a man now has the book well I'm sure it will be interesting to say the least!!! Well done! Can’t wait to read Donal’s story!
Another Brayden hunk bites the dust & another Farthingale lady hands the Book of Love off to the next recipient of love. I loved Lorcan & Cammy together - I knew from reading the previous books that Lor & his grunting answers & Cammy complaining about how handsome he was but only could grunt when he spoke to her, that they would be a fun adventure full of "grunting & giggles". He was a perfect hero & gentleman in every way & she is so naïve, unsure of herself & has something in her past that she needs to realize was not her doing.
I have loved every one of the books in this series & the author always writes characters that you fall in love with - by the end of every book, I want to be best friends with the heroine & jump into a relationship with the hero. I highly recommend this book & the entire series & you too will fall in love with the families!
I love this series and Cammy and Lorcan were so adorable. When Cammy runs away from the inn where she was staying with her aunt and sister, Lorcan goes after her knowing full well if she was compromised, he would marry her. Of course, she was ruined when they were caught in a storm and had to shelter together at the inn. Lorcan checks in claiming Cammy is already his wife. With each lie they had to tell, Cammy becomes more and more uncomfortable and feels she's trapping Lorcan in marriage. It was up to Lorcan to convince her that his feelings were real, but Cammy is keeping a secret from him. There was also a mystery running through the book as to why Cammy was so opposed to going to London. That added another layer of intrigue for the book. As with all the other books in the series, Cammy and Lorcan do finally get their HEA. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
The Book of Love moves to the next Farthingdale lady and a Brayden man. Many men notice Cammy, who is very beautiful and could marry a man with a title. However, Cammy wants nothing to do with the London marriage mart. Lor goes after Cammy and they find themselves in situations where Lor needs to protect her reputation. Cammy is kind, but has a great fear that stems from the past and it holds her back from a relationship with Lor. Lor was worked for the crown for years, is good at what he does, and no interest in marriage until he met Cammy. Both Cammy and Lor experienced the senses that the Book of Love discusses from the moment they met. But Cammy's past and Lor's occupation cause tension between them. Will Cammy overcome her fears to love the man who sets her heart on fire? I received this novel from net galley and the publisher. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is such an entertaining series, and I think this one might be my favorite, for now. Cammy is so afraid to go to London, she runs away. It’s up to Lorcan Brayden to bring her back. It would have been easy if she hadn’t taken a coach going the opposite direction from Barnstaple, her intended destination. Cammy and Lor’s story is loaded with humor and romance and a good dose of intrigue and danger. There is a hint of attraction from the beginning, but the romance builds slowly. Lor is strong, protective, and considerate. Cammy is sweet and chatty. This truly is a journey of love. They do get to London where there is an exciting ending. Next with the book? Donal Brayden. I look forward to his story.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
Camellia Farthingale doesn't want to go to London now that her sisters are married and no longer need a season. Cammy tries to run back home, but is captured by her fate, Lorcan Brayden. As one of the Crown's best agents, Lor is sent to protect her, but spies and the weather interrupt their travel. A compromised couple pretending to be married makes for a fast path home to get her father's approval. Cammy's fear of London is valid when she discloses her secret. Lor realizes he is after a murderer. A slower pace than the previous books in the series, but still includes a lot of humorous discussion over The Book Of Love. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Another cute entry in this series. Because of how much these characters feature in the previous 2 books, it would be really hard reading this without the two before it. Even having read the prior two, their feelings felt a bit rushed for me between like and love. But I do love Lorcan so much! I wasn't sure I'd keep reading after this book because I've only read the 3 focusing on this set of Farthingales, but the ending of this one definitely hooked me enough to read at least one more. 3.5 stars.
Attacked by a man she didn't know who put a scar on her back with a whip, she only told one sister and no one else. Now its her turn to go to London and her first season; except she's scared and runs off. Lorcan Braydon goes after her . enter "The Book" and the games begin. Once again Ms Platt works her magic pen to write a story full of laughter, love, and a villain or two with very real threats now "The Book" is being handed to Lorcan's brother Donal and I can't wait for his story!!!
Another wonderful addition to the series. I liked Cam my and Lorcan from her sister's stories, but I absolutely love them now. The book was entertaining. The characters were so very well-written. This story was great at not only showing strengths, but showing heroines/ heroes have weaknesses as well. Another great book by Meara! I look forward to more books in this series.
To get the most out of this romance readers should first read Books 10 and 11. Cammy is on the run, whilst she had reluctantly agreed to travel to London for the Season with her sisters, now they have married she cannot face the Marriage Mart on her own. Lorcan Brayden, already having feelings for her, goes after her at the behest of her sister and, of course, she is compromised by being alone with him!
Camry has run away because she has a secret she cannot tell anyone and does not want to got to London. Lotcan goes after her because he is in love with her. Her catch’s her and tells her her wants to marry her. It then begins more fun getting to her partents for him to ask for his permission to marry her. They move to London meet All the cousins and then are drawn into another story
Each one of these series has a different arc but a similar heart. They are about what makes a relationship work. This book was about the fears Cammy had and how with Lorcans help she was able to overcome them. It was about her inner strength but also about a world that was very unfair to women. Lorca was truly unusual for his generation of men but that’s what made these heroes so special in these stories.
Do not miss any of "The Book of Love " series. If you don't find the Characters endearing I will be surprised. The Brayden brothers, the Farthingales, mixed with Maclareens keep you smiling or on the edge of your seat. Like potato chips you can't read just one. Am waiting for the next.
Lorcan voluntarily goes after Cammy hoping to win her heart. As they continue their journey they must look as if they are wed. Meara Platt once again writes a marvelous story tieing on book to another and all family members are included. I enjoyed that Lorcan supported and complimented Cammy in every way. Even when she didn't know what she wanted.
Each time I read the newest addition to this series I have a new favorite. Each story is based around the book of love but they all have their individual feeling, connection. I always love to get to visit the characters from the previous books. I can’t wait for Lucy’s story. Her whole world is fixing to change.
No matter which Meara Platt book I read, it is unique and interesting, full of understanding love and that special kind of silent romance that very few experience. Thr Journey of Love is no exception... a fantastically superb journey of two people learning their feelings for each other along the way.
As soon as I read that the next book was Cammy and Lorcan’s story I got very excited since I noticed the chemistry already in the last book. This was so cute and the relationship seemed very realistic and well written. I’m glad that it was not a third act breakup but that the plot got more dramatic during the end. Can’t wait for the next book
This was a less engaging book than most of these, but it’s still readable. It’s still not that bad and it’s sweet. Something to read when you’re avoiding the world outside and it’s grammatically correct and romantic. I will admit to considering dropping it halfway through.
Great story, wonderful characters Great story line, this is Cammy and Lor,s story, great adventures for these two, lots of danger, and plenty of romance , Leads these two a marry chase. Thank you ♥️
