I love to read books of different genres and travelogues never cease to impress me! This book however offers much more than a regular travelogue!🤩

Geotravel by @stevevasiliou will take you on an exciting trip to Portugal, Edinburgh, Dublin, Spain, Germany, the USA, and many more places.✈🧳
The book begins with some awesome travel tips by the author, which highlight the importance of traveling and how it can be budget-friendly. These tips aren't just specific to one particular location and can help a lot during the initial planning stages of any local or international travel.

After the awesome tips, the author has mentioned stories of his travel around the globe and it is through these stories that he takes us too on a trip with him. The stories have been divided into the four elements of nature, i.e Air, Fire, Earth, and Water.

As per the blurb " Happy moments are in this book. Scary, sad, and laugh-out-loud moments are also here. Everyone will find something of interest." And I completely agree with it! I found the stories to be amusing, absorbing, and fascinating! I cannot wait for the author to explore Asia and read about his travel experiences from there too.

If you enjoy traveling or reading travelogues, then you'll definitely enjoy reading this one! And if you don't really enjoy traveling then also give this book a chance as you might want to travel a lot more after reading it! And traveling through books without actually moving is always fun😁!🧳

I don't normally read non fiction but as it was about travel tips and stories, I jumped at the chance to read it. I am an avid traveller myself with a long list of places I want to see, so this was perfect.

The premise of this book is to offer you tips on how to make the most of your adventures, don't just jump in a taxi, speak to a local and use a map. Which is something I try to do, you end up seeing so much more.

It also provides some very important information on our geo footprint and some very real issues that we should not be ignorant to. We can be avid travellers and limit the carbon footprint.

I really enjoyed the personal touch from the stories from the authors travels.

A great read for lovers of travel.

This book is a lovely little mix of travel tips and travelogue. Easy to follow and delightfully written, the first portion of the novel is dedicated to Geotravel tips and tricks. How to travel on a budget, and how to make the most of your trip.

The author then takes you on a journey through Portugal, Edinburgh , Dublin, Rome, Crete, various US states and so many more places while referring back to those tips.

Full of life experiences, lessons learned, and beautiful photos, this novel is just a fun, light read for anyone who loves to travel - physically or imaginatively.

Thank you to the author for the copy in exchange for an honest review.

GEOTRAVEL: Tips and Stories
by Steve Vasiliou
I don’t get to travel as much as I want to but I do enjoy reading travelogues and this one was certainly entertaining.

The beginning section is travel tips for various locations with helpful advice about planning, budgeting and eating taken from the author’s own experiences while traveling the world. The other sections are divided between the elements describing places with those temperatures. Air - Portugal, Scotland, Ireland and Belgium; Fire - Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Malta, Greece and Monaco; Earth - USA, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Austria; Water - Canada, England, Norway and Denmark.

The author details adventures he has had while on his travels and includes a large variety of photos from all over the world. . The stories are sure to make you want to get out and explore and encourage you to ask questions, make friends on your trips, get out of your comfort zone and learn new things.

Thank you to the author for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is an interesting travelogue with the first part dedicated to general thoughts on geotravel. Unfortunately, the author doesn't actually define geotravel nor distinguish which of the travels described in the "stories" section of the book actually count as geotravel. I found it a little difficult to distinguish what makes "geotravel" particular when compared to tourism in general. My understanding of geotravel is that it focuses on the landscape, on the experience of travelling through different places and what the geography means for places and stories. That is not at all what this book is about.

It is a whimsical exploration of the author's experiences travelling in different places. As a travelogue, it is a pretty good book and relatively enjoyable, but for me it was a bit of a disappointment as there is very little focus on the landscapes and geography of the places mentioned. I also found there is very little in the way of "off the beaten track". For example, in the section on Bavaria and travelling the Alps in that region, the author dedicated a chapter to Neuschwanstein castle, but nothing to the much more impressive historical building and museum that is Hohen Schwangau, which was the actual family summer seat in that region. Neuschwanstein was never even lived in, while the other castle right next door is the true gem. Considering the author mentioned in the beginning of the book that geotravel is less about going to major tourist sites and more about finding the hidden gems off the beaten track, that seemed a little contradictory for me.

Nevertheless, the places described and adventures shared are fun and mostly interesting. Some of the anecdotes were funny and others were intriguing. The travelogue section of the book is interspersed with photos that are grouped by section before the relevant stories are presented, so it did feel a little disjointed getting to see places before having them described in the book.

On the whole, I think this could be a fun read for people looking to visit the places the author mentions as there are some relevant tips on how to get the right kind of information about focusing on the experience rather than a massive itinerary one wants to force through. And it's a nice relaxed read.

If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would go?✈️
If there were no restrictions and life challenges, Alyssa and I would be in Haiti!
GEOTRAVEL: Tips and Stories by Steve Vasiliou is the perfect book for me as I always have wanderlust in my heart.
Geotravel has great some great tips! I have gotten lost in Japan and did see wonderful places, but I will never travel with only a backpack, even when I go to a remote village in Africa or Haiti, I still take a full suitcase! (Usually stuffed with goodies to pass out)
I love how this book is broken up into categories while talking about all of the places he’s visited! I completely agree with this author, if you have a long layover, go explore! I am already inspired to travel more!
Thank you @geotravelstories for this gifted copy! I recommend this to anyone that loves to travel or would like to travel more! You can find this on our Amazon Storefront, link in bio!🧜🏼‍♀️🌺

🗺 This is a fantastic book written by an 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱-𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 filmmaker, artist and photographer for sharing travel experiences from around the globe which beautifully from the very beginning lines to the end reminds us all of those fascinating moments we had in travels also we learn about many unexplored destinations yet would love to discover full of funny tips and stories with lots of historical information.

✈️A very interesting point I loved mostly is the genius way the author decided to categorize his wonderful geotravels based on the ancient Greek concept into The Four Elements of life: Air, Fire, Earth and Water.

💡 Steve Vasiliou's book is an easy read and a significant source of inspiration to us for more exploration of Mother Nature and I'm so excited to recommend it to every traveler and nature lover, hope you enjoy reading it as well.

During a time when we are mostly stuck at home without the freedom to travel, such books are truly a blessing in disguise. Not only do the travel tips make us look forward to our next trip, but the travel stories lend us the luxury of imagining not being at home for a while.

How not to be a typical tourist and instead make adventurous memories is a great way to visit a new place. Most of Europe and Canada has been described in this book with chapters divided in an interesting 'Elements of the Earth' way.

"A travel experience is very different when you speak even a few words of your destination’s language."

Apart from fun anecdotes, there are tons of practical tips to unpack and put to use. Thank you @stevevasiliou for reaching out. This was truly fun.

Geotravel Tips and Stories by Steve Vasiliou is a travelogue with a wholly original twist: the countries that are visited are categorized by element: Air (e.g. Scotland), Fire (e.g. Italy), Earth (e.g. Austria) and Water (e.g. Sweden). It combines a strong cultural focus with a poetic and philosophical approach. Looking for all the dos and don'ts of traveling or hoping to take an trip around the world without having to leave your living room just yet? Then definitely check out this book!
