Murder in the Dunes

Rate this book
Newlyweds Brogan Cole and Lucien Sutter are busy settling in to their new home. They're getting each room squared away, hanging their favorite pieces of artwork, designing and creating unique furniture pieces, putting their personal touches on the place. They're even planting a garden. Life is good. But when Lucien saves a young girl from drowning and they discover a dead body in the dunes, life starts to take a sinister turn.

When murder comes knocking, they soon go down a path that will take them into the twisted underbelly of Tinseltown, revealing the darker side to one of Hollywood's most legendary directors. Is he linked to a mysterious decades-old disappearance? Did an equally famous producer help him cover up the crime?

For Brogan and Lucien, unraveling this case means revisiting some hard truths. Will they unlock the secrets before anyone else dies? And will they be able to save the only witness to the crime?

Vickie's novels have consistently appeared on Amazon’s Top 100 lists in Contemporary Romance, Romantic Suspense and mystery / thriller. She writes what she loves to read -- heartwarming romance laced with suspense, heart-pounding thrillers, and riveting mysteries. Vickie loves to write about compelling and down-to-earth characters in settings that stay with her readers long after they've finished her books.

She's the author of twenty novels and numerous short stories with no plans to slow down. She's looking at a busy 2017, adding a new book, Beneath Winter Sand, to her Pelican Pointe Series and releasing a fifth Skye Cree book, Truth in the Bones. Plus, she has plans to begin a brand new series, in a brand new setting. Stay tuned for updates by subscribing to her mailing list.

Vickie writes full-time. But when she does take a break from banging out the next novel, she loves to get outside. Even though hanging out at the beach is at the top of her list, there's nothing quite like a long, soul-searching walk through the woods, daylight preferred, of course.

Spin off of the Pelican Pointe series. Loved that series and I am happy to see that this series and the cute lead couple promises to be another entertaining series. And Scott is still on the scene! Win - win.

I have read all of McKeehan's books. I have enjoyed every one and this is no exception. Though this book could easily be part of the Pelican Pointe series, it seems that this spin-off is going to take the stories on the road in the future. Where ever they go, I'm sure it will be a great read. I look forward to learning more about the new character, Austin, who was introduced in this book, as well as the growth of the main characters, Brogan and Lucien. Perhaps a baby is in their future, we'll see where the author takes them.

One murder, two murders, three little murders!

Brogan and Lucian have been hired by two brothers to find out if a woman is missing or has been murdered. Before they can get caught up in the case one of the brothers is murdered. Then they get another cold case to find out who murdered a woman years ago.

Great Hew Mystery Series

I love this new series. Set in Pelican Pointe, this story centers around Lucien and Brogan, newlyweds also establishing their private investigation business. The book is fast-paced, with various twists and turns. It was a definite page turner, hard to put down. Now I anxiously await the next book!

Good mystery

I don’t usually read mysteries any more but I couldn’t resist this one because it was set in Pelican Pointe and I really loved those books. I like the writer’s style and story lines. They are always good reads and you don’t want to put them down.

Another great book by Vickie McKeehan. I loved the characters. Lucien and Brogan are great together with their sleuthing abilities. It seems the way this book ended that there may be more books in the future with these two ( fingers crossed). From romance to murder her storytelling is amazing.

Lovely

I love how this town of Pelican Point gives those that need a second chance, just that. How this small little town has grown since I first started reading this series! And I cant wait to see what comes next and who falls in love to join this fast growing community!

This is a spin off from the Pelican Cove series. This one is about Lucian and Brogan. They are Settling down in their new house and marriage.

They save a young girl from drowning and find a dead body on the beach outside their yard.
They work toward finding answers. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next. ,

Entitled Couple's PI Firm! 3***** Spoiler Alert

Recently married entitled couple Brogan and Lucien claimed, throughout the novel, for their desire to be alone, but between Maeve, newly acquired vet student-Austin, Jack, Graheme, Chloe, and ghostly Scott, I was left guessing that they feared being alone with each other. Their privilege was splashed across the pages and made very little sense after closing two old cold cases and a recent homicide within a week. Totally unrealistic!! ... The novel does provide a basis for the super rich to show the world their empathic, altruistic, heart. Characters and plot was too contrived, read at ones own risk.
