Reunions are like trip wires—everything looks innocent enough until they catch you off guard and throw something unexpected at you.
If having Chloe’s ten-year reunion at her old high school building that’s now an event center / hotel isn’t strange enough, seeing her recently-single high school crush, Josh, certainly is. Chloe is as sure she’s over Josh as she’s sure he never even knew she existed.
And Chloe is never (okay, she’s usually) wrong.
Come visit this reunion where the romance is full of humor, heart, chemistry, and laughs, and Josh and Chloe will get a first chance at finding love their second time around.
This book was originally published as part of the Love, Laughter, and Happily Ever After anthology.
Meg Easton is the USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romances and romantic comedies with fun, memorable, swoon-worthy characters, and settings you’ll want to pack up and move to. She lives at the foot of a mountain with her name on it (or at least one letter of her name) in Utah. She loves gardening, bike riding, baking, swimming before the sun rises, and spending time with her husband and three kids.
Chloe and Josh attended high school together and have not seen each other for 10 years. They have been in other romantic relationships in the interim, but both are currently single. Unbeknownst to either of them, each had a crush on the other in high school. When they run into each other at their 10-year class reunion, sparks fly.
For fans of contemporary romance that contains no sensuality beyond a few chaste kisses, this pleasant, low-angst novella offers an enjoyable diversion.
Chloe has always felt invisible will this be her time to shine?
Chloe Carson felt invisible in high school. She had a crush on Josh all through high school despite him rarely even speaking to her. She's now an in-home care nurse and his grandmother, Beverly, is one of her patients. She was hoping Josh would attend their 10 year high school reunion but Beverly said he's not. Beverly is gifting Chloe and her friend, Jia, with a hotel room so they won't miss out on any of the fun.
Josh and his collage roommate and friend, Connor, have started 3 businesses together. The first crashed and burned because they had a terrific idea but didn't know how to manage it. After much research, they launched their second company and sold it for a large profit after 2 years. Now they run a highly successful consulting company.
Josh hadn't planned on attending the reunion. He thought by now he'd be married with kids. He dreads writing the necessary bio for the reunion. Unknown to him, until the day the reunion is starting, Connor wrote the bio, reserved a hotel room and sent a check for the reunion fees.
Chloe and Josh seem to be developing a romantic connection. Then his high school sweetheart and later his fiancée shows up at Prom II. She tells Josh that she needs him now and he leaves Chloe standing on the dance floor and rushes off with Tara...
This is a cute and funny story. Beverly's parrot, Marty McFeatherbeak, is a most entertaining character. He seems have a grudge against Chloe. He's responsible for glitter bombing her just before the reunion. Glitter that she just can't completely get scrubbed off. Glitter that glows under the lights of the dance floor.

Looking for Love (Sort of) by Meg Easton is a second chance romance. High School Reunions are either exciting or dreaded. Chloe is reluctantly going to her ten year reunion, which is going to be strange. The old high school has been turned into a hotel and event center. Imagine sleeping in a room that used to be an old classroom. What she wasn’t expecting was her high crush to walk through the door. Chloe is certain he didn’t even know she existed so it shouldn’t matter if he was there or not. Josh Trevorrow was very aware of Chloe in high school and even harbored his own crush. Will he use the opportunity to get to know Chloe now? Or will old high school haunts keep them apart? As someone who does not attend school reunions, I always find reunion stories interesting as if to live vicariously through the characters. This novella is short, sweet and oh so fun! Chloe and Josh were great characters. They hit it off so well at the reunion that I could totally see them as a couple in high school. If only they spoke up! And what is a high school reunion without a bit of drama and little misunderstanding? But it all works out as the final romance scene of the book was so fun and left me grinning from ear to ear. It was so sweet! If you are looking for a fast paced, short read for an afternoon of romance and laughs, I highly recommend Looking for Love (Sort Of).
Looking for Love (Sort Of) is available in paperback
Their Chance to Get it Right - Josh had been crushing on Chloe since high school, but had never had the confidence to do anything about it and having his grandma continuously talk about her, made him apprehensive about going to his high school reunion. Chloe’s crush on Josh hadn’t faded in all their years apart, so she hoped that he would be interested in her when they met at the reunion. Meeting and spending time with each other was going well, until Josh’s ex-girlfriend arrived and caused a misunderstanding, which caused Chloe to retreat.
However, Josh decided to publicly declare his feelings for Chloe, so he could convince her to give them a chance at embarking on a relationship. This was much more than a romantic story, as it had the feel good factor of the storyline and the wonderful characters that made it a worthwhile reading experience. Meg Easton is a new author to me and I can definitely say I enjoyed reading this book.

A fantastic second-chance romance. Chloe had a crush on Josh in high school. Now, it's time for their ten-year high school reunion where she bumps into him outside the event. The two are placed in circumstances where they have to work together. Fortunately, the two develop a mutual, two-way communication. There's still the sudden shoe drop, but, as expected, the situation gets resolved. The end is truly heartwarming.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Funny. Great world building. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.
This was a delightful story! A ten-year reunion brings two individuals together and oh the sparks fly! In this story, the author shares the pains of teenage hurts and self-esteem. She also shares the struggles of family expectations. But also the realization and confidence that comes with growing up and becoming adults who care for others. Meg Easton is a new-to-me author and I think I just might pick up more books of hers. This story was sweet and full of wonderful moments between the main characters. The story flowed smoothly and was well written. I recommend you pick this up for a fun, tender, delightful book to read!
Funny, sweet book! Chloe had a crush on Josh in high school. He always dated Tara. Their families were best friends and just expected them to get married one day. Josh liked Chloe in high school, but could never stand up to his parents. They are now at their 10 year reunion. Their high school has been turned into an event center. The classrooms are now hotel rooms. The gym, etc are now meeting rooms. Get-to-know you games at the start of the reunion are so fun! Josh and Chloe are in the registration line together and start to talk. Chloe is having to remind herself why she had to list the 10 reasons she no longer had a crush on Josh.
Cute story. There were some slow parts. It didn’t strike me much as funny as more adorable. I love the premise of them being at their old high school for a reunion. That was cool. And I liked what Josh did for Chloe at the end. I almost put the book down with the bird in the beginning. Cause I really don’t like birds. And they kept referring to the bird throughout the whole book. That was a huge turn off. But I think some people are bird people, so they wouldn’t mind. But once I got past the bird first chapter, it was good.
'Looking for Love (sort of)' was funny! Moreover, the delightful plot was filled with a parrot's antics, a grandmother's matching making, humor, and love. Chloe and Josh, the protagonists, were soul mates and oozed chemistry. They tried very hard to achieve their HEA, and I kept rooting for them. Suddenly, the plot went sideways, but it quickly recovered. I loved the descriptions the author used, such as "She couldn't have taken her eyes off of him even if the school was attacked by a flame-throwing T. rex." Very entertaining! I loved the amusing narrative.
She really wants to go to yoga - - -BUT Her neighbour needs her help with her pet parrot. She is going to a high school reunion the next day . . .and she meets with the guy she used date. And they connect — until his old girlfriend needs him! And away he goes!!! THIS is a really good book that I totally enjoyed. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
This was a 4.5 star read. I love Meg Easton so I was very excited to read this one. I was disappointed how short it was but it got a lot into a small book. I did like the characters and did like the story and plot. I loved the humor. Meg is great at that. I love her writing and how she brings the reader in and the conversations are so good I feel like a fly on the wall. If you need a short read and love Meg Easton then this is a must for you.
Tried reading this to check out the author's style. The story badly needed editing: mixed up names, missing words, awkward phrasing. The plot was pedestrian and didn't make much sense, it was clear that the author was following a formula, dragging the characters along while they were kicking and screaming in protest. Secondary characters were just cardboard cutouts. Disappointing.
Josh and Chloe had had crushes on each other back in high school, but he'd had a serious girlfriend. Why stay with one girl while crushing on another? Chalk it up to being young and dumb. But this reunion gives them a chance to discover that their mutual crushes can be more than just a crush. Very sweet. :)
I love that this book is not only sex free but also straight. Easton makes the author feel relaxed and wants to read more.
I love that the story takes place at a high school reunion (I never attended any of mine). The idea of turning an old school into a hotel. Great idea. Two people who crushed hard on each other over the past years now untied. Great story.
A sweet short read about two people who reconnect at a high school reunion. They both liked each other in high school but didn't act on it. Josh because of family pressures and Chloe because she was too shy. This author always has a lot of humor in her stories and this one is no exception! Not really a lot of time for character development but it was a quick read and fun!
I’ve read another book by Meg Easton and liked it, so I was excited about the premise of this one; it sounded fun. However, I found the characters kind of childish. I think a lot of the plot would have worked better if the characters were still in high school instead of at their 10-year reunion.
So… it’s just a clean high school reunion romance novel. And the storyline goes just about as you’d expect. No real surprises here and not much humor. If this “review” was a swimming pool, the water would only be about knee deep…
High school 10th reunion was a long time ago for me, but I probably wasn't the target reader intended for this book anyway... But it was a sweet story and an impressively detailed planned reunion. Chloe and Josh didn't waste any time getting together, but when you know, you know!
Probably because they are at their high school reunion, it felt written for a younger audience. Cute though. And I'm grateful there wasn't really a "mean girl".
I enjoyed this wonderful highschool reunion story. There is definitely humor and romance to the story. I found this engaging and the high school reunion aspect very relatable.
