He’s my brother’s best friend. I’m his opposite in every way.
Being a pencil pusher isn’t what I had in mind when I joined the FBI.
So when I finally get a chance to prove myself, I won’t let anyone mess it up.
Especially Harrison Everhart, my brother’s best friend and former Army Ranger.
He’s quiet and lethal–but also incredibly loyal. Harrison doesn’t mind bending the law to get things done. He’ll do whatever it takes to do the right thing.
And that may just mess up my big break. I know he’s willing to fight with me, but if I give him my heart will he fight for me as well?
Fight for Me is an opposites-attract, military romance with action, adventure, and plenty of steam. This angsty read is both fun and emotional as Luna and Harrison bring justice to the bad guys and heat up the bedroom. This is the second book in the Everhart Brothers series by USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa.
Claudia is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author. She writes alluring, thrilling stories about complicated women and the men who take their breath away. She lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband and her youngest two children. She has a sweet Bichon, Macey, who thinks she's the ruler of the house. She's only partially right. When Claudia is not writing, you can find her reading, knitting, or just hanging out with her family. At night, she likes to binge watch shows with her equally geeky husband.
The Everharts are quickly becoming my favorite brothers! Harrison the oldest and most guarded of the brothers is fine with his crazy life and his secrets! He takes care of his family as well as the world and finds solace with any woman whose fine for one night until he meets the sister of his coworker! Luna is the only girl and the youngest of her siblings! She fills her days working for the FBI and has no use for relationships! Neither Harrison or Luna want messy or attachment but when buttons are pushed and the heat rises can these two keep it professional? Can they keep their feelings at bay and only be friends?
I fell in love with Harrison and Luna because both seem so different yet are so much alike! Their flaws are what make them such a beautiful couple because no matter what they have so much love for the world around them even when they act so hard and closed off! Amazing love story brought to us by the amazing Claudia! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the other Everharts!
I can’t get enough of these four gorgeous Everhart brothers. First it was the youngest brother Hunter in Flawed and now it’s the oldest Harrison in Fervent which isn’t only centered around him but the entire Everhart family and their dynamics. I really love and appreciate that cause every brother is interesting, crucial for the other brothers and has so much story to tell.
Luna is a kickass and fierce woman who has lost her mother when she was just a baby. Her loss will still play a huge part of Luna’s job and choices especially when it comes to men. Harrison is a nurturer and has cared for his brothers since they lost their parents. When he meets Luna through his colleague sparks fly instantly and he starts to reevaluate his life. I could easily feel an emotional connection between them but I would’ve love more intimacy between them.
What I love about Fervent is how other characters from other Claudia Burgoa books make an appearance. It can easily be read as a standalone. Fervent is all about family, love and loyalty. So many new revelations are revealed and still many seeds are planted. Now I just want Scott’s or Fitzhenry’s story. I don’t care as long as I get more Everhart.

I say this every time with Claudia Burgoa's books, but it deserves saying again, this author captures the ties, the loyalty, and emotions of a family so well!! I'll always be a Decker (from her The Unexpected Series Boxed Set), but the Harrison boys...
Harrison Everhart is the oldest of the brothers, and the protector, whereas Luna is one kickass lady. I adored her and loved the chemistry between these two! I'm looking forward to more of these Everhart brothers!

Since you seem to like roleplay, we can play doctor while I take care of that itch.
“Rule number five, we work on your love life.” He lifts his arms, tracing a line across the air. “It’ll be called, an ‘affair to remember.’ Your future boyfriends will have trouble measuring up to me, but I can live with the title, ‘the legend.’”
Hunter, you’re my everything. My air, my sun, my love. You’re that happy beat I need when my heart is about to stop. You’re poetry to my soul.
The day we met you felt familiar. As I got to know you, it felt as if I began to remember who you are. My soul mate, my companion, and the woman I hope to spend the next eternity with. I’ve loved you since always. I’ll love you for always.
“Here,” Willow says, handing me her bouquet… “I’m not tossing it. I’m handing it.” “Like tag, you’re it?” I push it back to her. “I’m not playing, but thank you.”
My Review:
Fervent had a fast-paced and eventful storyline with an active and well-crafted plot. The characters of Luna and Harrison were enticing and alluring, although I didn’t fully appreciate Luna initially, as she was a bit kooky. Luna was a well-trained and intelligent FBI agent who checked her horoscope on three different apps every day and planned her approach to the day around the predictions. She also held some odd superstitions and a belief her life would be short due to the lines on her palm and the unfortunate history of her maternal line. She was also fierce, stubborn, feisty, and a kick-ass chick, and I do gravitate to a strong kick-ass heroine. Presented with a dual POV, Ms. Burgoa’s writing was well-balanced between cleverly amusing and heart-squeezing; she has certainly mastered the feels and emotive storytelling. While the characters experienced an obsessive and magnetic pull toward each other, their romantic encounters were limited to epic kissing sessions until the very end of the book, although, before recommending to sensitive readers, be aware that Harrison, while often the source of comic relief, had a filthy mouth and frequently peppered his speech with obscenities. I absolutely adored him.
Harrison Everhart is the eldest Everhart brother who was a former US Ranger. He enlisted in order to avenge his loved ones from the 9/11 attack but wanted more to fight against his foes. We see familiar faces appear and together they form HIB. When a friend asks him for a favor he cannot refuse. However, when the favor involves a beautiful woman the favor becomes even better.
Luna Santillan is an FBI undercover agent who relies on her horoscope to plan her day. She is on secret assignment and has to get close to Hazel to meet her target. Yet she has trouble and has to work through another source even if it means working with one of Hazel’s sexy best friends to complete her mission. She is strong, feisty, and in control of her situation but does tend to lower her guard around one person.
Together these two dance around each other while proving they are the best kickass characters we know them to be. I loved their first encounter in the elevator and in Luna’s apartment. Both were hilarious and we got to see some returning characters like YES!! Claudia is always able to write amazing stories while involving some tears. It’s her mission to make us cry a little lol. Overall it’s a funny, steamy, and emotional piece worth the time to read.
I'm torn on how to rate this book... Did I enjoy it? Yes Did it pull at my heart strings? Not Really, I did cry at one part but that was it...no where near as much as the first book had me crying. Was I happy with the ending? Not really and right there is my issue. I was hoping for more from the ending especially with the case that Luna was working on for the FBI.
This book takes place after Flawed and it tells the story of another Everhart brother, Harrison. I will say after Flawed, this story is a total 180. Harrison is the eldest of the Everharts. He and the second brother became the guardians of their younger brothers after losing their parents on 9/11. Flawed was a bit heavy because the MC had their issues, the MCs in Fervent are the complete opposites in dealing with their issues. Harrison joined the military to avenge his parents’ loss. Now he works for a private company. Luna is the sister of one of Harrison's teammates and best friends. Luna works for the FBI and she is going undercover for some sting. Her brother is worried about her so he contacts his buddy Harrison to help her with her cover, and to get her into the circles she needs to infiltrate. With them working together, soon heat rises between these two that goes beyond professional and into personal. Theirs is a love story and it builds slowly but what a steamy read it is. They seem so different yet are so much alike! I am looking forward to reading more about this awesome family.
My Rating: 4.7 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Fervent is the second book following Flawed and can be read as a standalone. Once again Claudia has built a great story with some great characters., a solid story line and some amazing chemistry between the characters. This book left me happy and smiling and really enjoying how the story unfolded.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Trigger warnings: Depression, mention of 9/11, possible PTSD, human trafficking.
Harrison and Luna's story could be considered entirely predictable for several reasons - he's a bad boy security agent from his now turned over military days/she's an agent tracking down the villains responsible for a human trafficking ring. A totally badass couple, right?
That is right. But they are so much more than that.
If you look at the emotionally distressing problems that Harrison faces under his charming, cocky behaviour from the outside, you can sympathise with him, even wanting to lend a hand to try and break him free from his demons. Demons that he's never freed himself from after having to take care of his younger brothers alongside his slightly older brother Scott (his book comes third after this one). Demons of his parents in 9/11 and his relationships that afterwards spiralled downwards.
Luna understands this. Her own relationship with her brothers and grandparents was not easy and often times she felt misunderstood and unable to talk to anyone about her own problems.
Therefore Harrison and Luna made a perfect couple (even Hazel knew that) - that they both understood each other so much that they would both only be able to lean on each other in hard times.
I absolutely loved spending time with Harrison and Luna, enjoying their chemistry and emotional bond they slowly developed and rooting for their HEA.
As usual, Claudia's writing does not fail to wow me both in the chemistry department and the emotional bonding her characters form when they slowly get to know each other more.
So I cannot wait for the next book to experience even more emotional bonding and going through a roller coaster of emotions that Claudia brings out so well in me.
Harrison doesn't mind pointing out the obvious, “Your dress is see through,” I mumble, grinding my teeth." Luna sure knows how to get her man's blood flowing, “I’m looking forward to witness how you build your case, Harry.” Her voice is sultry, and I’m ready to pin her against the wall and eff her." I really enjoyed this book, boy was there some hot chemistry between Luna and Harrison.
We get another Everhart Brother!!! The first was Hunter in Flawed and now it big brother Harrison's turn in Fervent! I fell in love with these brothers and the sense of family and duty. Their back story touch my heart and it made me want to get to know them each better. I love the dynamics of this small family and how they always have each others back no matter what. I felt each of the emotions that each of the characters went through and I couldn't have ask for a more well written story. I love how Claudia always know when to give us those right moments and when to sock us in the gut with twist and turns...love it!!!
Harrison is a former Army ranger that works for private security now, when he is asked to help keep an eye on a co-workers sister, he know he will do anything for him. What he wasn't expecting was Luna to take him by storm and make him re-evaluate his life. What happens when these two let the sparks fly?
I love reading Claudia's books, she always brings us into her stories as we are one of her characters and we are right there on their journey with them. I cant wait to see what brother we get next.
The moment I started reading this book I fell in love with the story and with Harrison and Luna.
They are complete opposites of each other, yet they are so perfect for each other at the same time. Harrison and Luna are both broken souls. Their pasts both have tragedy in them. Those tragedies have changed how they lived their lives. I loved the banter, the flirting, the tension and just the emotion between these two characters.
Luna is a BA. She doesn’t want just a desk job for the FBI. She wants to be out in the field, despite her father and her brother’s being against it. Yet, she is smart and she can take down any man. I loved her fierceness and that she really isn’t afraid. She has accepted everything in her life. Though, accepting what may happen in the future also caused her to have walls around herself. That is until Harrison. I absolutely loved Harrison, too. He is the oldest of the Everhart brothers and probably the most mysterious. He isn’t the relationship type, but the moment he laid eyes on Luna that instantly changed and there was just something about her he was drawn to.
I love that this story had some action mixed throughout, plus of course more of the Everhart brothers. I love the bond they all share so much and I love getting to see different sides of it from each brother throughout this series so far.
If you’re looking for an opposites attract, military romance this is one to check out.
After reading Flawed this book was a huge disappointment. I question how so many people rated this 4 and 5. This book was all over the place. Luna is in the FBI request a transfer to NYC do go under cover for Human Trafficking and never does a thing in regards to her job. She never files a report who has any contact with her boss at the FBI. She spends little time working to find out who killed her mother 31 years ago when she was 4 months old (there's already someone in prison for the murder). Another dead end story. Out of no where she teams up with Harrison and his guys and does an operation with them. I felt the author didn't know what she wanted. A few other problems. The start of the book is an interview with Luna for a job with three people talking back and forth but you don't know until the end of the conversation that it's regarding a job interview. Just like at the end. She's talking to someone who I thought might be Hazel and then I wonder if she is in counseling. The person is revealed after the conversation. Many many times there were conversations between 3, 4, 5 or more people but you had no idea who was talking. You knew who was in the room but not who was saying what. Several times I was going to quit this book and I wish I did.
Yet another complex and engaging story from the Everhart Brother’s world, though this one a bit lighter and with some fun action. I just adore these brothers and their connection, and the swoony way they fall in love.
Harrison and Luna’s story is full of dazzling chemistry- a slow and steady falling into each other. The characters are both really enjoyable. Harrison loves hard, a heart on his sleeve kind of guy- and he’s also quite humorous. He never planned to fall in love again but Luna is a force of nature. She’s so dynamic- fierce, liberated, focused, and resilient. She’s strong, but also tender-hearted and has a lightness to her. They are quite a pair- each with their own baggage and quirks.
This story is a SLOOOOOOOW burn, and while I’m not here for the heat, I did feel frustrated by the pace- but the sexual tension is well done. And, the family and action elements kept the pages turning while I was getting angsty for the real steam. All in all, a great addition to the series!
Ooh, this was angsty but so much fun to read as we get Harrison and Luna in an opposites-attract totally hot story. It's suspenseful and exciting and even though it's a slow burn, you can't help but read until the end because the chemistry is just amazing. One of the narrators is new to me and I loved what she did with the character and bringing her to life. Both narrators really make the story pop and felt as though I was right there with them.
After reading Flawed (originally published as All of You, All of Me), I was ecstatic to get a book about one of the other Everhart brothers. They appealed so greatly to me; I knew their stories needed to be told. I went into the book expecting the same intensity, the same heavy themes, the same emotion as I got in Flawed, but it didn’t quite stand up to its predecessor. It was still a good book; it only fell short of my expectations.
Fervent is a far lighter book than Flawed was. It focused on learning to trust and letting go of all those defenses people use to protect themselves from being hurt by another human being. Family was also a huge player in this book, both in the way they help heal and how they can hurt.
Luna was an enigma; as an FBI agent, she was tough and smart and highly logical. Her personal life and beliefs belied that persona though, as she relied heavily on horoscopes, palm reading, and superstitions when going about her day to day life. She filled both roles seamlessly, which was fascinating. After learning about her past and the way, she was raised – the things she was told time and again – it was apparent why she had taken two vastly different paths in life.
When I began reading Fervent, I thought Harrison was going to be a total bad boy. Hard edges, deeply flawed, gruff, and unfeeling. The more I read, however, I learned he was actually a kind, caring, compassionate soul. He had been hurt deeply – on more than one occasion – and did everything in his control to keep most people at arm’s length to keep from getting hurt again. Harrison, while still a bad boy on the surface, was revealed to be so much more once those layers of protection were peeled back.
The back and forth between Luna and Harrison was entertaining. Their chemistry was evident from their first, slightly violent, interaction. I loved witnessing them fight the connection they had, both swearing their relationship would only be casual when they obviously were working toward something epic together. Theirs was a slow, very slow, burn romance. The time they took to break through walls, to learn to trust one another, to show one another their deepest secrets, was worth it. They built something beautiful and lasting during that time.
My wish for this book is that the storyline that brought Luna to New York would have been completed. It seemed to have been abandoned fairly early on with only a few brief mentions of it later in the book. There was no resolution or satisfaction of that thread of the novel, and I found it disappointing as it had SO much potential.
Claudia Burgoa drew me into this story and made me want to go back and read her previously published Unexpected series with her inclusion of those characters as Harrison’s coworkers. She did a great job of keeping me interested in both her primary and secondary characters and I can’t wait to read about the other brothers and Hazel. The world she’s built in this series is excellent, and I am eagerly anticipating whoever’s story comes next.
Fervent by Claudia Y. Burgoa is the story about Harrison and Luna, we meet Harrison in Flawed, he is Hunter's older brother, but dont worry if you havent read Flawed you can still read this one because is a standalone.
Here we know about Harrison life, his past is really sad because he and his brothers lost their parents when they were soo young and you can see all the difficult situations that he has to past to give his brothers a good life.
Then we meet Luna a girl who came from a family where all the men work in something related to investigation and of course she finds herself working in something similar. Luna has a lovely family but sometimes they can make her life a bit difficult ( I LOVE her abuelita).
So this book is the story about how Harrison and Luna fell in love even when they arent expecting because according with their lifes they have other priorities... Luna is well accepted with the Everhart family and friends and since the beginning they are saying that Luna and HArrison are a lovely couple, but they aren't so sure... We can see that one of them is the first in recognize is feelings so it has to show to the other person that they can be together no matter what and have a good life.
In this story we can meet amazing secondary characters that you will love just as much as Harrison and Luna.... this book for me was really beautiful about a girl who is strong and knows what she wants and a guy who even his past is sad is trying to live the best life he can. Together they are dinamite, for me they are an amazing couple and so perfect to each other.
I'm so excited to read more about the other Everhart brothers and friends!! Can't wait to know more about these all amazing characters.
As always Claudia wrote a beautiful and realistic story that will make you feel all kind of things.... you will cry. and fell in love with all these characters.
Congratulations Claudia for this book and can't wait to read the next one!!! :D :D
Claudia Burgoa skillfully creates stories that grabs you and holds your interest until the end and Fervent is no exception. This is the second story in the Everhart brothers series and although quite different and much lighter than the first book Flawed, it was just as interesting.
This is Harrison and Luna's story but the rest of the gang was very much present throughout the novel. I absolutely love the bond the brothers have with each other and with Hazel. Claudia treats us to a cast of well-developed, complex characters who all have a life of their own and makes you want to know more about all of them. They all single-handedly and as a group added to the story and made Fervent the magic that it is.
Fervent was a slow burn. Harrison and Luna had instant, intense chemistry and their back and forth banter and flirtation was just icing on the cake. However watching them slowly fall for each other was such a treat. I really loved them both. We are given some past history in this story which helps us to understand what shaped both Harrison and Luna. Harrison as the eldest son was mysterious, and the protector of the family. Luna was quirky and bubbly and so different to Harrison yet she was so strong, fierce and intelligent, she complemented him to a T.
Although a romance, this story had an action element, some family drama, and ex-history that all came together to give us a fun, but at times emotional read. Fervent is a surprising, unexpected page-turner which will have you hooked until the end and leave you anxious for the next book in the series. I loved this story and highly recommend this 5-star read. **I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.**
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Harrison is a form Army Ranger who works for a high intelligence, private security company. He has seen his fair share of death betrayal and pain. He lived them. He trusts no one except his brothers and his best friend. He was always like that but everything changed the day his parents died and his nation was attacked. Since then family comes first and work is his mistress. Nothing else matters. That is, until Luna walked into his life. Short dress, long, tanned legs and honey eyes that make him weak. She is chaos. Shes's sunshine and daffodils. She is loud, a fighter, a dreamer and everything he hates. Why then is it so hard to walk away from her.
I am so in love with these Everhart brothers. Harrison is the oldest of the Everhart brothers. He meets Luna through a coworkers and best friends. She is his sister actually. Luna though works for the FBI and is a bad butt character. I simply loved her. She and Harrison end up working together when she goes undercover and Harrison is asked to keep an eye on her. This is the beginning of their attraction and one amazing story. You do not want to miss this story and your going to want to read Flawed if you have not already as soon as you finish.
I can't wait to see which Harrison brother we get next.
The Everhart boys are back!!! Harrison is the oldest of the brothers. He’s been their caretaker. Each brother is so different. Harrison loves his family and job. He's overprotective, sweet. What he doesn’t need is to be knocked down by Luna.
Luna is fierce, a force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t need anyone to protect her. She can handle herself. Luna's job is everything to her. It holds a part of her past. Luna lost her mom as a baby and it haunts her every day. Luna is very close to her family. The banter between them is hilarious.
Harrison and Luna paths crossed when they have a job to do. Neither one needs a distraction but the connection is explosive. The sexual tension and banter had me laughing... each one is fun. Their relationship is a slow burn.
Claudia writes a story you can fall so deeply and emotionally with each chapter. I loved seeing the crossover of characters from previous books. I can’t wait for Scott and Fitz's book. The Everhart men will have you falling for them all. There’s not a part of each we don’t want.
I absolutely loved this book by Claudia Burgoa. It’s a heart-warming story about loyalty, family and what lengths you would go to for love. There is plenty of plotting and doubt planting, which makes this read suspenseful and a real page turner.
Claudia had a great knack for grasping at family ties and digging deep in what pulls them together. The heroine, who is a fiery, loud and passionate piece of work; versus the nurturing hero, who is portrayed as the protector, brings this story to life and adds to its brilliant elements.
This is the story of the eldest Everhart brother and can be read as a stand-alone. However, I did feel as I hadn’t read the other books about these brothers that I missed out on the familiarity the characters have with one another. But I’m looking forward to adding them to my TBR list.
This book has a little bit of everything and is a must read!! Harrison and Luna make the perfect match. I loved the push and pull between them and their sexual tension was palpable!! Harrison Everhart is a smooth talker and is not afraid to fight for what he wants. We learn more about his past and his role as caretaker after his parents deaths and how it helped guide him, but also suffocate him over the years. Luna is awesome!! She is quite the little firecracker and is not afraid to use it!! She also has a past that haunts her and is looking for answers. Harrison and Luna team up to solve the case, but end up falling hard. Fervent is filled with playful banter, an over protective family and lots of action!! This story is very different than the first book in the series, Flawed, but just as good!!
I loved this book! This book takes place after Flawed, telling the story of another Everhart brother, Harrison. It is not necessary to have read Flawed to enjoy this one, though. Harrison is the eldest of the Everharts. He and the second brother became the guardians of their younger brothers after losing their parents on 9/11. They all dealt with the loss differently, with Harrison joining the military to avenge their loss. Now he works for a private company. Luna is the sister of one of Harrison's teammates and best friends. She works for the FBI and is going undercover. Her brother asks Harrison to help her with her cover, and to get her into the circles she needs to infiltrate. I loved these characters, especially Luna. I love her spirit, her joy, and her fierceness. If you've read other books by this author, you will also love the appearances by characters from her other books. As I already mentioned, this is a standalone book but knowing these characters well from their books is more like a visit from old friends and that knowledge enhances the story experience. I am looking forward to reading more about this enchanting family.
After Flawed, this book is a complete 180! Where Flawed was a little heavy with the MCs having their issues, the MCs in Fervent are the complete opposite in dealing with them! Yes, there are still issues, but this was a very fun and enjoyable read! Luna is no whiny female MC, and Harrison is not your broody male MC. They literally are a perfect match!
Another Everheart who didn't think he would find love in his lifetime, has met his match! Luna is not your typical girl next door though. She's a kick ass woman who works with the FBI, but she's not really happy with her boss. Now going undercover, she also has a hidden agenda. To give her mother justice. Will she succeed even if her whole family is against her working on it?
One thing I'm missing though is Tiago. I wanted to see how he was able to accept the relationship. I kind of missed that best friend kicks best friend's ass haha!
Claudia has done it again. Like all of her other books ahe has made me fall in love with another family. I cannot wait to read more of this series. My review may not be long but when a book is great you just say that and this book was GREAT. I have read just about all of Mrs. Burgoa books and each one brings forth greatness on some form and this one is no different so check it out.
I received this book as an ARC in return for honest review. Luna is an undercover FBI agent who works in human trafficking. She is transferred to New York and moves into brothers apartment. Harry is still dealing with loss of both his parents on September eleventh. Her brother gets his friend Harry to help with undercover work. They are supposed to be pretending to date but Harry has other ideas. He's falling for her and she's falling even though she'll deny it. Will they be able to keep their relationship only friends? Will Luna be able to let him in? I loved this story!
First I wanna thank you for not breaking my heart this time, I don’t think the poor thing can take another hit from you and your amazing words 😉, even though you make me shed some tears. Freakin love Luna and her kicking ass skills, plus I want her jewelry like right now. And Harrison, oh sweet lord have mercy 😍😍😍😍😍. Y gracias por usar mi palabra favorita: Carajo! Ah como me encanta carajear a diestra y siniestra🤣🤣🤣
When this author writes about a family you know you are in for a fantastic book and she has done it again with the Everhart brothers. These characters are so complex that you are drawn into the book that you won't want to put it down. I was gifted this book for a fair and honest review.
