Dr Eva, a well-known physician in her city, suddenly receives a message on her phone that her best friend, Nisha had committed suicide in faraway Nainital. The news of her friend’s death leaves her shattered. Eva recalls how Nisha’s boyfriend had also committed suicide 12 years ago in Delhi. Little does she know that Nisha had left her a missive from beyond the grave which made her embark on a journey where past and present blended together in an effort to bring peace to the souls of her two friends.
You will only understand at the end of the novel, only if you read it thoroughly, why the work is titled Full Circle. It has a nice story. Well-developed central characters and a nice flow to the storyline. I guess a little more depth in terms of presenting the cases of Debojit and Nisha could have made it better... just my opinion though. I am sure readers from across the interest areas will like the novel a lot. Well-done by a new author. Deserves a read for sure... do read it.
Dr Eva has to come to Delhi once again... the streets that she has left way back after the completion of her medical studies. The memories of suicide by Debojit, a dear friend and then a sudden news of suicide by her friend Nisha... everything presses Eva to the corner once again but she has to gather herself because Nisha has left a letter to her. What that might be? What's more to unfold? The novel is more or less an emotional drama that will keep the readers engaged with episodes of mysteries that unfold wonderfully. Language is plain and simple and the work will appeal to the readers who want sensible fiction. The conclusion is a testimony to emotional fiction – all jolly!
Cherie's novel will bring a smile on the faces of the readers that come out of satisfaction... she has written, almost, it seems, a story inspired by her own experiences. The author is also a doctor and the protagonist in the story is also a doctor. Well, leaving that aside, the novel is more an emotional journey of the protagonist Dr Eva along with Dinesh and Ban... Trisha plays an important role in bringing close many hearts and you will love that discovery.
I loved the novel. It has a proper story, a proper beginning and a satisfying ending. The novel covers many issues like the pressure of highly tense examinations and courses, career progression and also the pressure of a child who is born to an unmarried mother... Dr Eva, the protagonist, has many miles to cover before we reach the conclusion of the novel that will please the readers. However, the novel becomes a little more than predictable and readers will, by the 50-60% of the book, start anticipating what might be the next episode. This might throttle their reading pleasure...
This is one of those novels that you read with the least expectation and turns out that you end up looking the story as well as the author's effort. Full Circle is a metaphor that perfectly unfolds itself into an entire novel as you finish reading it. Eva leads the way in discovering, negotiating with her and others' luck as well as finalising the wishes that deceased friends had tacitly requested her to do. Hearts are content at the end and that's what a light novel does for the readers. Kudos to the author!
12 years, two suicides, Delhi, emotions, nostalgia, curiosity and an anxiety – this is how the novel begins and human emotions then take over the entire storyline. You can only appreciate the work that Cherie has done in this novel. A clean, if I may say, minimalistic and straightforward reading pleasure... do read it this weekend to understand how only few people can value human emotions.
The story is led by a sensible and understanding character named Dr Eva. She is happily married with two kids and everything is going smooth until she hears about the tragic suicide of her dear friend once, Nisha. Before Nisha, Debojit has also committed suicide but that was a long time ago. Eva is more than shocked when she hears about a letter Nisha left for her... what can be in that letter? Where will life take Eva from here? Will life bring more shocks or some pleasant surprises? The story is nice and it will help the readers realise unexpected twists of life as well as keep them entertained with a story that is 'full'.
After many days, I accepted to read a novel that my friend recommended. It is a nicely developed story and the novelist has used her imagination, storytelling technique and her prowess to assess the social situations in the realistic world wonderfully. Full Circle will leave the readers not only impressed but also satisfied. Do read it and you will enjoy the novel... A realistic story that begins at an educational campus and ends with a message.
It was all emotional... I must say that the novel brings to the readers sudden episodes of life that we seldom expect to encounter. However, the satisfaction that fulfilling the wishes of our loved ones brings inside our hearts is amazing and the same is there with Dr Eva, the protagonist in the novel. It is about the unmatched pressure of medical studies, falling in love with people unexpectedly, leaving someone behind you after your death and then coping with the pain. The novel is plain in terms of plot but colourful in terms of emotions.
Nisha, Eva and Debojit are the central characters at the beginning of the novel and it opens in Delhi. However, when the readers reach. a few pages deep in the novel, scenarios change completely with the news of suicides. Fast forward and flashbacks... Journey back to Delhi and then to Assam and then celebrations that mark the all's well that ends well proverb. Emotional, sensible and a light read.
Full Circle is a story of solace that human actions can bring not only to those who can walk and breathe but also to those who can no more experience life, the deceased ones. Events unfold in front of the eyes of a reader (most likely because I did experience) like a movie. A phone call takes Dr Eva back to Delhi where she had to stay to fulfil her academic qualifications, MBBS and then PG. She also witnessed and mourned, along with many other friends, the suicide by one of the best friends of her, Debojit... many years later, Debojit's then girlfriend, Nisha also commits suicide and it leaves Eva devastated... but, what might be in the letter Dinesh wants to give to her? This curiosity and a looming anxiety leads the novel into the unknown and the author has captured the tensions, events and conclusion very well.
This is a sentimental or rather emotional journey that leads Dr Eva to many revelations and many conclusions that she was, subconsciously, expecting to find out. The novel has simple language, very intriguing development of a simple storyline and a more than pleasing ending that you will surely love. I liked the simplicity of the author. Recommended to all those readers who love to read sensible fiction.
Eva's character is very wonderfully reflected by the novelist having all the colours of humanity and I am sure that the readers will see through it. Debojit represents all those who are too pressurised by the society, peer groups and may be parents too, to excel in whatever they do. Nisha represents brave women who can live their lives on their own... tragic suicides and the emotional drama that develops naturally in the novel reflect the unpredictable human life. Do enjoy it.
Cherie (the author) has written superbly. I don't know whether its her first novel or not, she has done extremely well in terms of storyline, plot construction and also the narrative. Simple tale told in a straightforward manner and it keeps the readers curious enough to flip the pages. Dr Eva goes on a nostalgic trip to Delhi to find out what did her best friend leave in an envelope before she committed suicide. It is more an emotional journey that keeps the readers attached to the storyline.
It is a simple, sweet and enlightening story of someone who is dead with a wish behind her and someone who is alive enough to keep that wish for her! I am sure many readers whom I know have been looking for a novel like this. Do read the story of Dr Eva and her friend Nisha, guys. You will surely thank me later. Truly wonderful!
You cannot go beyond 30-40 pages if you don't like a novel. This one, Full Circle, just kept turning and turning for me and I kept reading it to the last page when I saw things turning in full circle for Eva and Ban and all. I truly loved the storyline and also the characters of Eva and Dinesh, Nisha and even Debojit as a representative of all those who cannot take academic pressure and give up. The novel gives out many messages and I am sure readers will find the same out.
To set yourself on the go, just imagine the protagonist who suffers the suicides of two of her best friends... finds out many things after many years and turns out that her deceased friend has left a child behind her, a child born to her boyfriend who also committed suicide many years ago... what could the protagonist do now? This is the story of Dr Eva and through her, of many others who may find themselves in the same predicament. Do read it. Technically, the novel unfolds in a gradual way and readers are indulged, aware and active throughout. Simple language, straightforward plot and a versatile theme... executed by the novelist very well and it seems to be inspired by related events, to an extent.
“Full Circle” is a debut novel by “Cherie K”.. a fresh breeze in the world of fiction. This story has a veritable feast of characters, surrounding a central figure Dr Eva. She is a well-established medical professional whose settled life takes an unexpected turn when she receives a message about her friend, Nisha’s suicide. The story flows back and forth smoothly in flashbacks and present. Dr Eva couldn’t resist chasing the pathetic event which brought back horrifying memories of another friend’s suicide during her training days. The story unfolds slowly from a single event to a broader perspective. The end is satisfying and justifies the name of the novel. Cherie’s words hold a poetic beauty and creates the whole scenes in front of your eyes. In her debut novel she has shown the maturity of a master story teller with a stamp of her own style. This is one of those stories which starts without much expectations, slowly engages you all along and end up giving more that what you expect. I would highly recommend this novel.
The novel opens up an entirely new world of events, thoughts, ideas, emotions and truths to the readers. A superbly executed plot that expands itself to the length of a novel wonderfully. Characters, those who are deceased and those who are alive, play their part gracefully and convey the messages author intended for them to do in an emphatic manner. Dr Eva's emotions compel her to fulfil the wishes of her best friend who committed suicide. Her husband accompany her on the journey that is sentimental, emotional and also satisfying. A very different novel from the recent picks that I have been reading.
Two suicides, two deaths, and two close friends lost... Dr Eva is not sure what the letter left for her by her best friend once, Nisha, might reveal to her. However, out of curiosity and concern, she decides to come to Delhi after many years to meet the husband of her deceased friend and get hold of the letter Nisha marked under her name. What will the new turn unfold? How will Dr Eva cope with the secrets that are about to be unfolded in front of her? Many things are in the novel that will keep the readers intrigued and a lucid flow of the storyline will certainly impress many readers.
Full Circle is a sweet metaphor that the author has used. You will see its magic at the end of the novel. The novel is very emotional, sentimental and to an extent, Bollywoodesque drama that wets your eyes. Dr. Eva and her husband take a leap of faith, almost, as they land in Delhi to find out what does the letter of Eva's deceased friend, who committed suicide, says. Nisha's truths and her last wish will drive the novel to its sweet conclusion for many readers. I enjoyed it. Quick read and that with some beauty in it.
Cherie K, the author of Full Circle, is a very sensible writer and it is apparent once you read her noble. The novel might have had its genesis in the personal life of the author and there should not be any certainty about it. However, discounting everything and contexts, Full Circle is a novel that pushed me into nostalgia and I was forced to remember a few scary and sentimental months spent during my academic years. Eva and Nisha are friends and their friendship transcends beyond death... do read it to know better.
Truly an inspirational novel and it does not tell you to do things that you cannot. It only tells you to do very simple things that could make others around you happy. Suicides take shape in form of horror and sorrow for Eva who is a famous doctor. However, after the demise of her best friend Nisha, Eva cannot stop herself from visiting Delhi and confronting the past that she left behind. What will the journey bring to her? What secrets are about to be unfolded? You will know all as you read the novel.
I liked the novel overall. It is well-thought, well-planned and well-written. However, I would love to have seen a little more depth in the plot. Pardon me because my opinion might seem different or rather contrary from everyone else but I like to see a little more mystery or suspense in the works that I like. Overall, this is a good, rather relaxing and soothing novel and I am sure many readers will love it in this form only. Eva dominates the entire storyline because she is the leading character and also the protagonist. The secret child ploy worked very well.
I did not read something like this many times in my life. Cherie's novel is not extraordinary in terms of story and this is what I call the beauty of a writer's imagination. One can turn very ordinary events of life into a full-length novel and you may end up liking it more than those stories seeming out of the real world. You can end up in the situations that are mentioned in the work and that is why you connect with the story on many occasions. Do read it and you will surely find what I am trying to convey.

Wonderful novel and I would certainly recommend it to the readers who love reading different novels or simply novels that does not follow a trend – suicides are also here, flashbacks are also here, revisits and nostalgia are here as well. However, the novel does not treat these things as we usually find in the novels by many contemporary authors. Cherie's writing is different and her different approach to things described in this work make Full Circle a more suitable book. Do read this one if you are looking for something refreshing.
I think I could not get anything better than this one to end my week with a note of hope, positivity and love. Cherie's novel is pleasant, sentimental, emotional and also very sensible. No bombardment of usual sensational and senseless stuff... begins with a tragedy that unfolds in front of Dr. Eva reminding her of something similar several years ago. And, from there, the novel takes a very different and wonderful turn. Reveals many things and fulfils many things. A sweet read for the weekend!
Cherie's novel has a wonderful story that will surely touch your heart. An emotional journey of one friend to fulfil the wishes of her dead friend who died by committing suicide but left behind a mysterious letter for Eva to chase a wish. Nisha's suicide brings back the memory of Debojit's suicide in Delhi during the medical graduation years and Eva cannot be sure what to do. However, she chooses to walk the path. of reconciliation and that's what the novel is about.
A sensitive, morally upright and straightforward woman Doctor Eva's fate chides her as she knows about the suicide of her friend, Nisha. She is perturbed because she also remembers the suicide by Debojot, Nisha's boyfriend, 12 years ago. Dinesh, Nisha's husband, calls her to inform about a letter Nisha left for Eva... should she receive and read it? What might transpire? A story of secrets, emotions and resolution... simple but amazing.
