I don't think I particularly want to travel to Africa, on safari or otherwise; but I can certainly enjoy the high quality National Geographic footage of animals and landscapes and learning about the same.
I have mixed feelings about the lecturer. He presents a good image most of the time. It is just that sometimes there are clips of him on location and between his graphic t-shirts and Steve Irwin-esque over-exaggerated enthusiasm it is sort of hard to respect him; he seems much more like an admirable wilderness guide on the soundstage.

A lot of hours went into research for this book. Extra resources for further reading available in each chapter / lecture.
