“When life wants to hurt you, it comes with a fullproof plan!” ✨ Brief- Inspired by true events. Life has a Song for Everyone, a debut novel by Mayur Madhekar is a story about rejection, realisation and the essence of life. Narrated with the perspective of 3 characters Arvind, Sonali and Smitha. Where Arvind being the main protagonist, a topper who is always happy, filled with philosophies. But! Hides grave memories of past. He faces dramatic changes in his life from the second year of engineering. Life takes him to bizarre situation where he never wanted to go. He becomes what he hated the most. Throughout the story we learn how things find its way when they are meant to be and what was the reason behind their occurance. ✨Review- Nirvana!! Story may not be that deep but the message it conveys is. You get some realisations, some meanings, hope, faith, a different vision. Which are really appreciative. I genuinely like the story and the way its been portrayed. In the beginning I was a little bored, thought it may not be that great but the moment Smitha arrived. The story changed for better. Suddenly I gained interest, felt empathetic, emotions went through my nerves, started enjoying, laughing on the lame jokes by Arvind. Ahh Arvind!! I like him so much and maybe I like this book because of him. I saw many similarities between me and him. The way we both are from engineering, a soul of philosophies (friends guiding us to leave engineering and take philosophy as a career 😂). My beliefs on love, relationships, life so much resonated with him. Arvind says Sonali resonated with him, I say “Arvind I resonated with you ❤️” “Life bless you with what helps you grow, and not with what you wish for.” The book had a movie like ending which I don't like generally, still I had a smile on my lips. Reason you know.. Arvind and his lame jokes.(which I ended up liking, because I liked Arvind)❤️ ✨What I like- - 3 perspective. It gave me insights. About the feelings of others. What their reasons are , their thoughts and thus why they did it.
- The lessons. They may not be something extraordinary, I haven't heard about or thought so. But the way they have been given a perspective, a life is unique.
- OM ( read the book to know what I am talking about. It's something really great, you maybe missing)
- The conversation between Sonali and her mother ( in the last)
- Karan and Smitha, characters we wish to have in real life. I adore you both.
- Last Chapter- “Life”
- The personal touch author had sprinkled by including playlist. ✨ What I didn't like- - The length. It would be great if it was a little or more less.
- Sonali! She was an amazing person but with the mentality of a 10 year old. Who gets convinced so easily, changes her perspective with a single talk. She who is always confused and was the reason behind all the fuss. But she was meant to be like this, the story needed her to be a little dumb (we can see this since her entry) So, it's all good. She made the story more impactful & was a crucial part to it.
This books is highly underrated. I wish more people know about this and put some light on this. Highly urge people to read this, specially to all the beginners. This book reminded me of my initial reading days. You should definitely try this one. ✨ Remember- “We have to live better because...we are dying.”
“Feel and live everything that you are about to discover!”
The cover states that this book is a ‘story of love, life and how meaning finds you.’ The book is a collection of intangibles that leave an impact on our minds and body. The story takes the readers on a journey of discovery, realization, and acceptance, in that order. It does so through three main characters – Arvind, Sonali, and Smitha. While the central message is a strong one, the pace of the plot does hold it back. It is slow and does not pick up pace until Smitha arrives. The characters are however relatable and make for a good reading experience.
Pick this book up if you are looking for a story that navigates life and its varied meanings through its characters and inter-related events. It is character-driven and does not shy away from creating scenarios that bear resemblance to real life and catch the reader’s attention. The language used is simple and does not rank high on the eloquence scale if there was one.
I absolutely forgot that I have this book with me and that I have to pick it up real soon. Well, yes the title is absolutely sweet and hopeful, and the book cover seems quite nice too. This is the story of Arvind who confesses his love for and to Sonali, while they are in the second year of engineering and surprisingly she doesn't reject, she decides to be friends first. Of course with time their friendship blooms. And then Smitha enters into the scene and life plays a game with them. The story was fun and refreshing, it wasn't a boring love story. Written in multiple narrations, it's an exciting ride with slight philosophical talk and entertaining characters. The book is 300 pages long and could have been slightly shortened. The author won me with the fact that each chapter has been titled with a popular song and the author has shared the entire playlist at the end along with Spotify links and QR code.
Life has song for everyone taught & enlighten us a new definition of love. They says Everyone has defined love specifically. They says that Love hurts but it never was Love, we blamed love for nothing. It was something else, for some, it's expectations, for some it's trust. it's different for every person out there. Love is to let go.. of expectations & every issues, & you really will feel the serenity.
This is the story of Arvind & Sonali and their discovery of life's meaning. Arvind, simple & fun loving guy fell in love with Sonali at first sight, something about her made Arvind's heart go crazy, He wanted to suppress his feeling but failed to do so. He decided to confess her about his feelings & think about the consequences later on, but Sonali rejected him, her past didn't let her move on. Her gut feelings told her that he is different, & she shared about her past. They became friends & they both understood that they vibe so well together. They decided to continue their friendship & never to force on each other. Sonali loved the way Arvind explains complicated things so easily, she always gets curious about Arvind's opinion on it. Arvind too loved Sonali's company & love to make her laugh. Things went south after the Zealicon. Arvind changed or was it his persona? Something triggered Arvind's past & he could not move on in his life. What is Zealicon? What actually happened with Arvind? Where is Sonali? Who is the new character? so mang questions left to be answered.
This book really has touched my heart with its poem, Arvind's philosophy, Sneha's unconditional Love And the meaning of OM. It's inspiring. 5 on 5 stars for that. & we all need friends like Karan. And you can never blame anyone, We all have met someone Like Arvind or Sonali, they are so real & raw. And that's what I love the most. Oh! the description of the locations is so vivid, feels like You are in that place, and the mention of hostel, woah! made me miss my hostel room. That part was so relatable. Arvind's Dada will always be the coolest grandfather for me & The last chapter of Life OMGG. It was like an appetizer, enhanced the beauty of the book. & thankyou for the song playlist. :)
The title of the book is unique I was like for my situation it suited me better. I was like let's try it out and find out what is in the book. Whenever I read books like these where I can feel the emotions of those characters in the book and connect with their story, I feel like Is it happening to me? Anyway, this book will tell you that every single thing happening in our lives has a reason behind that. In this story, we can read about Arvind and Sonali who are friends come lovers but not yet. Second, he has to feel toward Sonali and he is confident about his feelings he gained all the courage to confess his love to Sonali but Sonali doesn't think like that at all, she used to be friends with him and she decided to be friends with him it's like she is unknown of her feelings and all. We all may see movies and read books about two friends who are close but when a third person comes into their life what happens and all, somewhat we have the idea of what happens next in their lives right... That's what happened in the story of Arvind and Sonali's lives, Smitha enters their life as a friend, what will happen in this journey of one-sided love and a love triangle, emotions stuff involved with them, their friendship, and all? Where their relationship will end and how their relationship is going to be? I like this story, you may think like this genre will be the same as that fits in every book but trust me it's not like that at all, these three characters have their personality and I need to say the author explained them very well characterized and their feelings about each other, we can read three points of view in this story that will keep you on the edge and you don't feel like getting bored by the story, it keeps getting interesting to read about one other and their mindset about others and all. Check out this book surely you'll like this one for sure.
Life has a song for everyone by Mayur Madhekar🌟 I stay away from love triangle troupe and it's because I always root for the one that's left alone and that leaves me heartbroken. But I honestly didn't expect that this book was gonna hit me this hard.
It's a college YA romance book, it revolves around a group of friends Arvind, Sonali, Smitha, Karan and Badri. Arvind, the protagonist is a easy going , charming guy who falls for Sonali, they become great friends when Sonali comes into their lives, at first everything seems perfect but one night changes everything and none of them will ever be the same.
What stands out in this book, is that it's a multitude POV narration and it's executed so well that you are in the character's head. Aravind with his point of view of life love stole my heart, he is the best friend anybody could ask for. Sonali is a confident girl and a bit jaded and cynical, she doesn't want to jeopardize her friendship with Arvind. It's clear right from the start that they were kind of perfect for each other. When a new girl Smitha comes into their group, they become fast friends.
Smitha OMG she is the best thing in this book her character gave me chills she is so awesome and everything that she goes through made me cry so bad. She's one of those characters that makes you wish that she was real. I admire her strength.
Dealing with loss, importance of mental health, support of friends while going through hard times is portrayed really well by the author. So overall this book was surprisingly good and had me in tears, it was a 4 star read for me but just for Smitha I would give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Brave stars
I randomly came across this beautiful and heart touching novel while finding novels to read and the thought of what lied within the book consumed me. The cover and the title grabbed my attention and I couldn't resist myself and read it, hoping for an interesting story and I'm glad to say that it lived up beyond my expectations. It is a fictional plot focusing on the characters named Arvind and Sonali who met in the second year of engineering. Arvind confesses to Sonali yet she decides to stick to the terms of friends with him. They let their bond grow and decides to give it some time to explore its colours to the fullest. But life has its own plans for these two characters, a new person named Smitha enters into their lives. With the new character a new chapter is added to their story which makes the things more interesting for them. The characters get involved in a turmoil of love and emotions, which is being potraited neatly by the author. The language is kept simple by the author which helps the reader to understand and interpret the book in an easier way and connects the readers to the book. Overall it's an amazing book!
Life Has a Song for Everyone is a remarkable novel that offers a poignant exploration of the human experience. Madhekar's writing is both thoughtful and insightful, providing a nuanced and captivating depiction of life, love, and the search for meaning. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking a heartfelt and thought-provoking story that will resonate long after the final page.
The novel presents a refreshing and authentic portrayal of love and its many nuances. Madhekar delves into the intricacies of the characters' emotions and desires, creating a multidimensional and captivating storyline. The novel's exploration of love is raw, authentic, and at times, heart-wrenching.
However, the novel is not just a love story. It is also a powerful exploration of the human search for meaning and purpose. Madhekar's portrayal of the characters' struggles emphasizes the importance of resilience and hope in the face of life's unpredictability and chaos. The novel reminds readers that finding one's purpose is a messy and often non-linear process, but one that is ultimately worthwhile.
Book name : Life has a song for everyone (a story of love, life and how meanfinds you)
Author name : Mayur Madhekar.
A love triangle ! But is it really love ? Or just a feel?? Not everyone loves the feeling of love. Some just hate it and try to run away.
This is the case with Arvind, he fell in love with Sonali, while they were batchmates in the second year of the college. But life took a complete turn when Smitha came in their life. The meaning of love and life seemed to be lost and not known !
We get to read a lot of emotions in this read. I loved the way it's written. The story revolves around all three but mainly around arvind. I loved the way College Life is penned down. It's interesting to know what happens between these three. How they deal with the changes and what meaning they could understand of love.
It's a good read. Buy a copy of the book. And give it a read.
Life Has a Song for Everyone is a beautifully written and deeply moving novel that explores the complexities of love, life, and personal growth. The novel's message of hope and resilience is a powerful and inspiring reminder of the human capacity for growth and change.
Overall, this is a poignant and thought-provoking novel that explores the universal themes of love, life, and the pursuit of meaning. The novel is beautifully written, with lyrical prose and vivid descriptions that transport the reader to the streets of India. If you're looking for a book that will make you think, feel, and reflect on the complexities of the human experience, then this is the book for you.
“I love her… but… it doesn’t give me any right to force her to feel the same way and to put her in unnecessary trouble. Love is weird. Isn’t it?”
Aravind and Sonali, both are survivors of their terrible pasts, met during the second year of their college life. Though Aravind fell head over heels in love with her, Sonali, being confused about the concept of love, chose to be friends at first. As the days passed, they grew closer. Just then Smitha enters their life and nothing was the same again.
No, this is not a usual love triangle. There is love, hate, heartbreak, misunderstandings, but not even a bit cliche. I couldn't take the side of any character, as all of them seemed right from their perspectives. The book is a bit lengthy with more than 300 pages, but I finished it in one go, as I couldn't leave it in the midway.
The language seemed lucid, and the narration from different perspectives made it more intriguing. The storyline is well planned and executed. Overall, a great read that gives a whole new perspective on love and life.
An interesting, funny, and incredible story. I have read tons of fiction novels but here are some of the books that make a special place in our hearts. Such is the novel, Life has a song for everyone.
The book is about three amazing people, Arvind, Sonali, and Smitha. Arvind is our protagonist who makes us laugh at his lame jokes. Well, he is one of the boys who has also been a topper and is studying engineering in college but he also has great knowledge and interest in philosophy.
Well, a drastic change comes in his life during his college life which he never thought of. His entire life comes to a stack and it makes him believe that life has its plan and your plan wouldn't work before it.
Whereas on the other hand, Sonali is the girl who is an easily manipulative one. Anyone can make her do anything. Now how is life is going to turn out for these 3 people and how their life is connected is what makes this book so interesting. It's a must-read, especially for beginners.

The book has college romance vibes. It felt like I was a part of the characters' life and I was witnessing their sweet and sour moments along with them. I liked the writing style too. Overall, recommended.

This is an amazing book and the content of the story is new and very interesting . It revolves around three young college going people Arvind , Sonali and Smitha. They were in an engineering college doing their best for a better future for themselves. But ofc college life is not only about studies it's also about friendship and love . Arvind falls for Sonali and he even confessed it to her but she decided to being on friends maybe she would think about the relationship later or not? Then comes Smitha , and everything thing changed. Is there going to be a love triangle? You never know what will happen in your life it's the most unpredictable thing and life always surprises and shocks you . The story has many emotions , twist and turns . The detailing in the book is so good that it seems like watching a movie . Language used is simple and easy to understand and narration done is very well. Characters are also explained nicely . Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to all. Must read 😍
This is a story of friendship and love. A regular teenage story with engineering college background. The protagonist falls in love with the college crush but she is not yet able to accept the proposal. Later on another girl who is perfect in every sense falls in love with protagonist but gets rejected. Life takes a difficult turn for all three of them and their lives are overturned. What will be they do next ? How turn will they choose on this fork presented before them? They will find different meanings to life or will they come out of their trauma?
You will find all fun elements of college, events, friendships, hostel Life, love triangle, breakups, misunderstandings and everything you love to read. There are subtle life lessons dropped around in story via the protagonist. I felt the story is too long. It might be a few pages short. The language is subtle so there won't be issue in understanding them. The protagonist goes through a trauma and overcomes it. Motivation means different to different people. Same thing never works for all. Find your own motivation and path which will keep you holding tight. People interested in young adult love stories and college drama can surely go for this one.
The story is interesting, heart breaking, hopeful and ultimately, amazingly memorable. It has unique perspective towards relationships love, romance, struggles to be happy or with unhappiness, fear of rejection and breaking out of your shell, without ever being preachy or cloying.

I love this book and I recommend everyone to read this✨
Life has never been certain for any of us. It keeps taking different roads to teach us how unpredictable it can be but at the end of the day, whatever happens, happens for good.
Such is the life of Arvind who is the protagonist of the story, a topper, and an engineering student, and a philosophy lover by heart. Do you think he will be able to follow his heart?
The character of Arvind is really interesting which makes you read more and more of the story as his funny jokes and his personality will make you smile and fall in love with him.
On the other hand, the other two characters, Sonali and Smitha are going ahead to have one similar desire in mind. Sonali is a little girl like whi can be easily Influenced by almost everyone so you must read how she is going to be in trouble for that.
The story is interesting and funny, the writing style is witty and emotional, the characters are unique and worth reading. The book is the perfect pack to have some entertainment and especially for beginners.
This book had me on a rollercoaster. The immense plot twists and enormous emotionality that is oozing out of the pages is gripping me hard back and welling up my eyes. I learned many life lessons through this. How not everything works out for everyone in the same manner or not at all. Arvind, Sonali and Smitha's life was full of twists. Life played with them all. It brought them together and split them apart. And as time passed and realisation hits each of them they learned to cherish life, love and whatever is at hand. Their Friendship make me envy them. I want to manifest this kind of approach, relation to everything and everyone one. Must Read. Recommending with all my soul.
Plus point of book: Amazing song recommendations at the End!
Wow! I just amazed with the gift to the readers in the end. I didn't realize earlier that all the titles he has kept for each chapters are songs. I thought he made it unique. But finding it as songs is so wonderful and wish to listen all these songs. Then also he made it so simple by aligning it along with the artist’s name made me surprised and I have gone through all those lovely songs and those awesome lyrics. It made me to feel happy that some of them are my favorite too. Right at the time of finishing this story and I just go with the flow in the end straight away to listen those songs to feel the completeness of this book. The ideology behind all his thoughts that he wants to convey to this world is really appreciable.
I am sure that all the readers will go along with Arvind, the protagonist of this novel to live like him or live with him. His love Sonali, the female protagonist and all other characters Smitha, Badri and Karan, all his friends made this story with all fun that includes pain, regret, hurt and love too. Life has so much hardships but it doesn't stop there itself. We can relate the story in most of the places since it was surrounding the college and friends. I just back to my college days while reading, the behaviors, emotions between our friends are all recapping to me my mind just like Aravind, Sonali, Smitha and their friends.
I really loved the feel of the author though it is a fiction that too in some of the quotes and inner feelings that existed in between the story.
The desire to bound the loved ones to ourselves is meaningless.
To love someone is set them free, let them grow.
You can never hate a person whom you love.
Love really feels like free from happiness and pain.
You are living and remember at that same time that you are dying too.
Learn from realizations. People are different and their means to get wisdom too. Accept your way and so of others!
Life is precious. Live it fully whether it is sweet or spicy.
The author made the book perfect with his lucid language along with a beautiful cover and the title. Simply I can say I loved and lived it. Recommended to go back to your stories of college days.
Book Name: Life has a song for everyone Author: Mayur Madhekar
The book came to me with a special packet. The cover page of the book is giltering and eye soothable. The book tells us about our normal simple daily life and its aspects. Life has a song for everyone is a fantastic book and the story is beautiful. The choice of words are impeccable, full of wisdom and philosophy. The book depicts that love is not expecting rather than accepting and that life will not serve you the dishes that you love but the one that will helps you to grow.
Life is uncertain and unpredictable. We never know what is going to happen, who we will meet along the way because sometimes when we think we had it all, life decides to take a funny turn and show us who is in control.
So, this is a love story, I guess we can all figure that out from the first read itself but one thing that is the element of surprise in this book is that it is not your usual love story. It is filled with actions and developments that one can hardly see that so much time has passed while reading it.
Aravind and Sonali, both are survivors of their terrible pasts, met during the second year of their college life. This is not just a plain and tangled love story, but it was so much more, the kind of perception Arvind had, even Smita for that matter towards life towards things in life, it will change you as a human and I think that's why the book has served it's purpose.
I am sure you will like this book Overall, I liked the book .The title is quite appropriate. The writing style of the book is interesting. Of course I would recommend this book to all readers.
My Ratings-
Overall - 4/5(⭐) Title - 5/5(⭐) Cover - 5/5(⭐) Language - 5/5(⭐)
Romance is a persistent favourite for readers everywhere, and it isn’t hard to see why. A good love story has drama, intrigue, laughs and, if you’re lucky, a little heat; while the very best romance novels can feel just like falling in love — intimate and personal, yet huge and life-changing all at once. Romance novels often get dismissed as trivial, but we know that couldn’t be further from the truth. Writing is all about drawing your reader in and making them feel something; and what genre does that better than romance?
Life has a song for everyone by Mayur Madhekar is a love story which has years old formula of a triangle love story. This story revolves mainly around three characters Aravind, Sonali, and Smitha. Aravind is studying in their second year in college at Amaravathi. Aravind fell for Sonali but the relationship does not go ahead but still they remain friends. Then enters Smitha and then the lives of Aravind and Sonali take twists and turns. The story also has a lot of sentiment, college regime, projects, punishments, class bunks, exams, love, friendship, patience, hope, attachment, philosophy, spiritual angle, rejection, heart-warming past, heartbreak and mental breakdown. What happened next? How will be the end of their love story is to be experienced and not certainly to be disclosed here.
The writing style is smooth and graceful and also the language used is simple and easily understandable. Character development is done in a very good way but I feel at times the characters behave in a very immature way with lots of drama. I could find out some grammatical mistakes in the book which could have been easily eliminated by efficient editing. For me, the book has been dragged unnecessarily. Each chapter has been titled with a popular song and the author has shared the entire playlist at the end along with Spotify links and a QR code, this is for sure unique.
Reliving the good old days of college life is what I enjoyed but this book is for the readers who are new to the hobby and are starting their reading journey, not for the one like me who is seasoned as didn’t get the literary pleasure while reading.
Set in yet another engineering College story of three engineers, one trio, an eventful mix and match of fate with appalling relatability this book will make you feel bliss, humour, anger, frustration, pain. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and nostalgia for me. The book starts of with Arvind and Sonali who are both each other's love interest although, from Sonali's side she always had her reservations to label their relationship. A year went off smoothly with Arvind and Sonali being "just friends" for each other. Until Smita enters the story, becomes a part and parcel of their life, Arvind was always committed to Sonali, but things go south soon. I loved the book when it came at describing the annual events and everything was so relatable especially when it came to anchoring and how they did a flop show under pressure I remember my head of department pressurising me once, I almost fainted because of that pressure! I do not wish to break your suspense on who makes it together but I guarantee you you'll like and dislike each and every character for their own layers.
Irrespective of the triangle, I have loved the kind of layers every character got in this book, completely justified. This is not just a plain and tangled love story, but it was so much more, the kind of perception Arvind had, even Smita for that matter towards life towards things in life, it will change you as a human and I think that's why the book has served it's purpose.
Just that for someone like 304 pages is quite a bit of long read but the exact replica of an engineering College it has painted it brought back the good old memories.
My favourite part of the book has to be when Smita finds *her* meaning of "OM".
Also while reading the whole anchoring scenario the kind of determination Smita had it is completely relatable. And I would quote myself here😂 " No artist likes to be in the audience, the stage will keep calling them back!"
Life has a song for everyone revolves around Arvind, Sonali and Smitha. Arvind studies at an engineering college and being a bright student he is elected as the class representative, He falls in love at first sight with Sonali and they soon start dating.
The relationship starts to change when Smitha enters their lives.
The book is a love triangle between the three and has elements of friendship, love, addiction etc.
Starting with the title and cover of the book, the title is catchy and has in depth meaning while the cover is designed beautifully.
Next the prologue is written very well, it maintains suspense and forces The reader to start with the first chapter right away.
I also like how the college romance portrayed is easily relatable. The book also has multiple POVs shifting between Arvind and his friends Karan and Badri. I like books with multiple POVs since it gives a deeper insight and the realistic view to the book. Hence, this was a plus point for me.
However, the pace of the book is too slow, basically holding back the reader's interest. The language could also have been richer in vocabulary.
Character development was portrayed very well across the book. However, good editing is required to eliminate the few grammatical errors.
The book even talked about blind love. It is a concept that I can't digest. Cheating is something I cannot forgive easily and stories about second chances after cheating really ruined my mood.
Book has a lot of drama which makes it less realistic and the characters often behave too immaturely.
Final Say - Proper editing, especially eliminating the unnecessary parahs would make the book much better read. I would like to recommend this book to beginners.
...... Book review 📚📚...... . Book: life has a song for everyone: A story of love, life and how meaning finds you. Author: @mayur_maina .
What If life and love are throwing the same nightmares of the past at you over and over again? They suck don’t they? We all have a past and sometimes it haunts us and our leads are nothing special here. Arvid and Sonali engineers in their 2 nd year of engineering have been through a rough journey and that is the scar of their survival. And as they both are in college we know what can happen here. Arvind falls in love with Sonali. But was it love? What is really LOVE ? I don’t know the answer to this. But Arvind does and you have to know it because Arvind is a philosopher and he was a different theory for every difficult situation, Sonali didn't accept his proposal but she didn't even reject it. That’s odd. And now she friend-zoned him. Hahahhaha kidding. It’s complicated but then comes the event that every college-going person awaits the most. The annual function and there comes are spice and our twist in the form of a “female” Arvind and we’ll call her Smitha. Now, do you know what’s gonna happen? I do but I won’t tell you to have to find it out yourself. I personally like the book as I am a student and believe me, my college is nothing like this and whom am I kidding I didn’t attend half of it due to pandemic but this wonderful piece of work made me realize I missed a lot Mann. In the starting, the book was a little fast phased which was a kinda lot to take but then I got it like I am living it. Ahhh I took more time to this one than usual because every time I read a chapter I started to make scenarios in my mind. I would like to give it a 4 🌟 and I would like to recommend it to every single person. . . And a question to author is arvind inspired by you 😂.
Life has a song for everyone by Mayur Madhekar narrates a tale of love, hatred and friendships. The story is about Arvind, Sonali, Smitha and a few of their friends, but mainly about the love triangle shared among these three characters. The plot opens up with our protagonist and his best friend gearing up for the first day of their second year in the engineering college. College days romances probably have a special place in everyone's heart, at least for those who have experienced it. That is what I thought about this book really, and it did meet the expectations somewhat. So, coming to the plot, it develops nicely I would say, and the layers are peeled like that off of an onion, and that is what I like about stories, layers, this one excelled in that department. The character arc is very impressive, every person has their own story and it is developed properly for each one of them. And the book truly delivers on how and what is the engineering life like really, especially the students and teachers and what they are like. Another thing I really liked, that the name of the chapters is based on songs all of them listed at the end of it, so hey, now I have a playlist which I like. Coming to what I did not like about the book, how slow it was along with how uninteresting it was in the beginning, had to put it down and then begin again later, I was just not intrigued by how it was written in the beginning. That made reading this a long process. I also feel that some instances shown are a bit overdramatic and did not really seem very realistic, and there should have been a trigger warning in the very beginning which was missing, and given the the prologue is something related to suicide, that was very important. Will recommend it to those who are beginning to read or enjoy college romances.
This was an okayish read for me, editing could've been crisp, would recommend this to a beginner in this genre & reading as a whole.
“...the desire to bound the loved ones to ourselves is meaningless.” 🍁🐯
“Life has a Song for Everyone” by Mayur Madhekar is the story of Arvind an engineering student who falls for his classmate Sonali but because of Sonali's prior (bad) experiences, they decide being friends first before making anything official. Then comes Smitha & the equation changes. What are the lessons they learn that'll shape their future is a thing to discover.
It's a simple tale, & the POVs shifts between the main leads & their friends Karan & Badri. Each character is given fair treatment.
However, Arvind gets more time to grow while Sonali & Smitha are one dimensional. I would've loved to see Smitha's character more, but I like that she was a much sensible person.
The campus life is beautifully captured & it's one of the things I loved in the book.
I didn't quite like the length of the book. It could've been shorter & less dragged towards the end. Sonali & her mother forgiving the father for cheating & walking out of them years ago is beyond my comprehension & I'm not buying love means forgiving stuff. I believe, when you hurt someone bad there's no redemption arc. I'm not much of a forgiving soul.
The realisations of Love could've been maturely handled rather than making it dramatic.
My Note: Learn to accept rejection & stop lamenting over it or destroying yourself in the process. Love yourself first & learn to deal with your emotions before letting someone into your life.

It was 11 - October 2012, and we were traveling in a crowded DTC bus. That's how the first day of my first relationship started. We both belonged to the same school but I proposed to her during the first semester of my engineering. It was difficult for others to breathe in such a crowded bus, but who cares when she was holding your hand. We reached Hansraj College, and she introduced me to 'Masala Dosa'. Jaat boy had South Indian food for the first time.
Coming back to the book, Arvind and Sonali are the lead protagonists of this story, sailing in the boat of engineering. Arvind is doing great in academics. Time completed another race, and Arvind inhaled the oxygen of love. He proposed his feelings to Sonali in his second year of engineering. Both started their relationship from a DTC bus named 'Friendship'. Suddenly 'this bus', collided with a 'car' driven by a beautiful girl called 'Smitha'.

IT engineer by mind, a writer by heart, Mayur Madhekar has written this novel at the age of 20. Apart from his immense affection towards music, he loves to write poems and enjoys cruising on the untraveled roads of the city and life.
Let me decode the title of this book. All 50 chapters are titled with a popular song and the author has shared the entire playlist at the end along with Spotify links and QR code. It's creative and impressive!! It's an entertaining, fresh, and inspiring love story.
