The second my car comes screeching to a halt in front of her I know she’s the one. I’m obsessed.

Anyone who hurts her or comes near her will pay with his last breath.

This possessiveness is completely unlike me, unlike any way I’ve ever felt.

I’m a businessman, albeit an underworld boss. You can never grow attached to anyone or anything, or else you’re setting yourself up to get let down, or worse yet to get put underground...as in six feet under.

Permanently.

But I know without a shadow of a doubt that this girl is my future, and that I’m all in when it comes to her.

I’m sick all right.

Sick in the head when it comes to her.

She’s consumed all my thoughts, my desires, everything I think about and do. A one-track mind that only pulls into her station. It’s unhealthy, lacks balance, and is exactly what the f*ck I want and refuse to change. At all.

I’ve never been one to believe in religion, luck, or fate…until all three suddenly make sense at the same time.

This girl has flipped my world upside down and there’s no righting the ship now. She will be mine.

**2.2/5 stars**

This book started out fairly decent; it had some tropes that I normally enjoy, sadly, the more I read, the less I liked it. Even if the setup was improbable and very over the top, it still somewhat worked out for me...until it went downhill. This short novel that should've been read in a couple hours at most literally felt unending, especially with the epilogues at the end. Yes, with an 's'. Multiple.

The story got straight to the point in the beginning. Carlito saves a random girl in the middle of the night. For him, it's love at first sight and he becomes obsessed with her right away. He decides they will get married and that she'll have his kids. That's the story in a nutshell. There wasn't much else to it other than two people leisuring and obsessing over each other. One attempting to woo the other and convince her to stay, while the other let him.

Carlito could've been a very interesting male character. He was obsessed, OTT and jealous. But he also had a sense of respect, was very caring and definitely wanted Carolina to choose him and stay with him willingly. Weirdly enough, this part of him made him extremely boring to me. It took away the tension, the dangerous feeling surrounding him and his past actions. Maybe I'm just that far gone but I kinda wished there'd been dubcon 😅 I just didn't feel like Carlito was intense at all. Crazy and weird sure, but never intense. He was a little bland in the corners.

I’m going to make sure she’s mine forever when I claim her, fill her with my seed over and over and over again, swelling her belly year after year as we celebrate the annual births of our children.
-Carlito

If the hero hadn't been human, I'd let it pass but the use of the word 'seed' is just so strange to me when the hero IS human. The repetitive use of it was also an issue for me.

As for Carolina, hmmm...Honestly, I don't really know what to say about her. I barely wrote anything about her in my notes. She was very easy to woo and to adapt and accept her the situation with Carlito. At first, she seemed somewhat relatable but that was just at 20%. After that, I was very weirded out by her attitude, especially knowing a dangerous man seemed to be obsessed with her. She never really asked questions before jumping in a relationship with a guy she literally had just met. She gave no challenge at all, wasn't really smart or rational. Definitely immature and lonely.

“Daddy’s going to lick his Little Girl clean, spit shine her private parts.”
“Okay. It’s good to be clean.”
“Especially when Daddy does it his way,” he mumbles into my flesh and continues doing what he was doing.

I...— This is not hot 😬🥶

Their relationship started okay-ish up until they got to the steamy scenes. I have nothing against daddy kink and even roleplay, but there is a fine line between enjoyable and cringe. It's usually a hit or a miss for me, and this time, it was definitely a miss. I was very uncomfortable with the unending dialogues and the fact that Carlito called Carolina 'Little Girl'. The fact that Carlito was more than twice her age just made it so weird to me. I really couldn't get past my discomfort with it. And most scenes had very 'wtf' references, paired with the heavy breeding kink of the hero and his dialogues, I just wanted him to shut his mouth. 😂

Somehow he manages to cock back his hips one last time and drive into me, the head of his dick pressed firmly against my womb as he unleashes a hot geyser of seed inside me, painting my womb like a Jackson Pollock, splattering his baby making fluids all over inside me.
-Carolina

I said it in my book notes/update and I'll say it again!
↳ Leave Jackson Pollock out of this
✋🛑

Other than that, I felt like the mafia trope wasn't really explored other than in the first 20% or so. The rest of the story didn't have anything to do with Carlito's role as the big boss feared by all. I think it would've been nicer if the author committed to the trope and milked it a little bit more. Seriously, because I couldn't care less about two obsessed people falling in love with literally no tension, no fighting, no drama, no challenge, or anything. The guy had butt loads of money so every little problem could be solved with money. It was an okay read, but not very engaging or romantic.

Would I recommend this novella? Personally, no. Definitely not for me and I probably won't read the other novels in this series. This author's style is just not for me.

Carlito rescues Carolina when she was on the run from pervert boss. He immediately falls into insta-love. This story had a few tropes I liked such as OTT, jealous, obsessive but I was disappointed overall in the direction of the story. Carolina barely had any personality. Didn't get much info on why she suddenly decided to become an au pair in Italy. She provided no challenge at all to Carlito, getting into a relationship with some dude she knew nothing about. Carlito was supposed to be some badass mafia man who's known by everyone in Italy but he came off as tame. Despite him killing two people for Carolina(happened quickly with little details), I found he lacked the intensity and darkness I expect from a crime boss.

At first, I liked that he was loathe to hurt or do anything to disrespect her but the constant repetition of consent made him seem boring. Where was the insane, lawbreaker who did whatever he wanted society be damned? Where was the passion, tension and conflict? Dude could've been a butcher for how easy it was for him to walk away from the crime life. The daddy/little girl talk was a major turnoff. I could've ignored it if it was light but it got cringy as the story went on. Took me too long to read this novella because I was bored by the blandness of it all.

Great Story

I love how obsessed the hero is with his love. He makes sure she is always safe and knows she is loved.

I can definitely say this series isn't for me. The writing style is okay and the story flow. However, I'm just not a fan of DDLG and it really makes me cringe so hard. The 21 year age gap here too is way uncomfortable for me, but maybe that's a me thing.

Carlito (39) and Carolina (18) met when she ran way from her pervy boss. He rescued her then kill the guy. But after seeing Carlito killed her ex-boss she escaped but Carlito being all powerful in Italy hunt her down and made her stay in his house. And that's basically the start of their relationship.

Like I said maybe it's a me thing. I didn't enjoy the daddy kink, tbh, it made my skin crawl. I'm so weirded out by that "Daddy" and "Little girl" exchange. Maybe this will work with other readers, unfortunately it didn't with me.

Obsession was an amazing OTT insta love romance by Lena Little. Its book 5 in the A Possessive Man series by Lena Little and can be read on its own. Carolina and Carlito were smoking hot together. Carlito sees Carolina for the first time when she is being attacked and he is quick to eliminate the threat. Now that Carlito has laid eyes on his princess, he will stop at nothing to claim her and make her his. No one will ever take her away from him. Great story!

To Whom This May Concern:

This is the fifth book in the Possessive Man series. I have read the third book in the series as well, but the books can be read as a stand-alone.

The couple in this book is Carlito Carminati and Carolina West. This a mafia trope with a stalker/obsession romance vibe. Also, this is an insta love relationship. However, it was too fast in my opinion where the relationship did not have any chemistry. For example, they just knew immediately and the love was just there. It made me tilt my head and cynically just laughed at the probability that it could happened.

In this book, Carolina is running from her job into the arms of Carlito. The beginning of the book wasn’t too bad. However, the character’s inner conflicts throughout the was basically how a teenage girl would want a guy to obsess with her. It was not well written. The book consisted of 17 chapters with a three part epilogue and written in dual points of view, Carolina and Carlito.

The “romance” scene were steamy with dialogue, but lack plausibility. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. Carolina was touched and bam she finished.

The ending of the book tied the book together and the character’s conflicts were addressed

With that being said, I give the second book in this series a 2 out of 5. I rank this series in the following order from best to least: Book 3 and then Book 5.

With thanks.

Disclaimer: I did get this book for free through Booksprout. However, I did not get paid for a skewed review. This is an honest review with no intentions to sway readers to persuade sales.

Carlito is an underworld boss in Rome. He has fought his way to the top and now everyone fears him. He has no time for emotions or women until Carolina runs in front of his car. Just one look at her is enough for him to become obsessed with her. Seeing her run in fears brings out all his protective instincts. He leaves her safe in his car and goes after the man chasing her. His anger with the aggressive man ends in a fight and death. When Carlito returns to the car, Carolina is gone. Now Carlito will do anything and everything to get his angel back.

Carolina is a struggling 18 year old who traveled to Rome to become a nanny. On her first day there, the man of the house demands more service than she is willing to give. Carolina runs in fear chased by the man who was supposed to hire her. When she runs into Carlito, he instantly makes her feel safe. However when he kills the man after her, she becomes filled with fear. Who is Carlito that he could kill a man so easily. Carolina runs and hides. She wants to escape but she has no money for a trip home. When Carlito finds her at the bus station she is relieved but still has some fears. Can she handle being with a man who can kill so easily even if he is just protecting her.

A smirk engulfs my face. Yeah, that’s right. “You are cordially invited to the union of Carolina West and Carlito Carminati, this Saturday…”
he did not-
please tell me its not what i think

Almost as if on cue, as if she’s teasing me, she tucks a hand underneath the blanket and into her panties and moves her digits one time in a circular motion.
she is sleeping
ABORT MISSION I REPEAT ABORT MISSION

I’ll be fighting off potential suitors for years. No dating until she’s fifty.
someone give this man a stage already

I bend down on all fours and lick the floor like a cat drinking milk from a bowl.
🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

i was going to give it a 5 until this sentence.

Come on…how in the world can an older man from Rome and a younger woman from North Carolina be so perfect for each other, then somehow meet, under crazy circumstances no less, and less than a year later bring life into this world?
who is going to tell him?

Is eight enough? Doubtful. Ten? Now we’re getting somewhere.
someone steal his baby sack

this book was well written no doubt but i don't know why the sex scenes felt so robotic and the amount of times people have awakened something inside them should be illegal

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the A Possessive Man series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Carolina trying to live her life the best that she can but sometimes things planned do not work out the way intended, and she needs a little saving. Carlito sexy as all get out savior the moment, he saves Carolina he knows she was born to be his and it will stop at nothing to make her his including hurting or getting rid of anyone who hurts her. They are amazing together and he is good for her in every way. The chemistry is intense and instant, the magnetic pull can’t be ignored will he keep her safe, protected, will she accept him, who he is and can they find happiness together.

Obviously there are books that are just to entertain and pass the time but omg, I can't finish this is too funny and I can't take it seriously.

It's insta-love and I must understand that this is not for me, in general I have no problems with that genre/troupe but it must be well done, like paranormal or the relationship must be well established, this was dumb.

I debated about writing a review. I love Lena Little stories and have read them all. Some can be a little hit or miss with me but I usually enjoy them regardless. Lately this new series has been mostly misses with me and I almost DNF this one which would have been a first. I powered through but took 3x longer to read because I did not want to pick it back up. I feel like there was not much story and even less dialogue between characters. I don’t think they talked until at least 1/3 of the way into the story and rest was all his inner monologue which went on & on… and on. He was not a man of action just inner ramblings of how he was gonna act with his new obsession. I really need more action and less inner monologue on how he is going to be this obsessed man in love. I find this to be the case with a lot of the books in this series.

One moment is all it took for Carlito to become obsessed with Caroline, Hes a mafia boss who can't afford to have a weakness but he cant be without her. Carolines took a nanny job in Rome but when she arrived the job was anything but she had ran but ended up running into Carlito and witnessing something she shouldn't have, back on the run she soon discovers you can't run from a man obsessed! Carlito will do anything to keep her safe but will she want to stay with a man as dangerous as Carlito?
Well written overprotective alpha obsessive mafia D/l themed romance, fast paced desire filled and those steamy hot scenes hit the spot!

When Carolina meets Carlito for the first time its when she's running from someone trying to attack her. Carlito is stunned by Carolina and knows he wants her for his own from the moment he rescues her. He takes care of her pursuer and when he gets back to his car she is gone. He is in a panic and sends his men to search for her. Carolina ends up in a train station when she is found. She can't believe how far he went to find her. Will he be able to convince her that they are meant for one another?

This is an amazing story that once I started I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

An agency flew Carolina all the way to Rome to be a nanny. When she gets there everything goes horribly wrong. While running away, she ends up running up to a random stranger and begging him for help. What happens when your hero becomes obsessed with you?

I think it's awful how all the events started. Carolina shouldn't have had to literally climb a random stranger like a tree begging him to save her. I do like how Carlito didn't even have to look in her eyes, he already knew she would be his. It's nice that Carolina felt so comfortable around Carlito that she fell asleep in his car. Carolina can run but she will never be able to hide from Carlito.

This was a cute read. I love the ending. Definitely wish it was longer. I would've loved to see a few things play out on paper.

I thought that this was a hot yet sweet book. Carolina and Carlito were great together. I loved the connection and chemistry between these two. Carlito has finally found his one person and he is willing to do anything and everything to get her, keep her, and make her happy all the time. Carolina is just trying to live her life but it hasn't gone according to her plans at all. This has lots of steam, growly alpha, sweet heroine, misunderstandings but a really great HEA. I would recommend this book and Ms. Lena as a great author.

A woman running out into the middle of the road almost causes Carlito to crash. She’s begging for help and just as soon as he turns his back on her, she’s gone. Carolina ran from multiple people that night, but despite her efforts, Carlito was able to find her. The woman he was now completely obsessed with.

Carlito and Carolina are both out of their minds which makes them absolutely perfect for each other. They fall into quite the whirlwind romance. Obsession includes Daddy/little girl play and there is some rough BDSM. There are twists and turns, no cliffhanger and HEA

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a short, instant love romance between Carlito and Carolina. She has found herself in trouble and runs straight into him. He might not be a good man but he will be her knight in tarnished armor. Regardless of their differences, these two are perfect together. The story moves quickly and they get their chance for a happy future together.

I think the title for this story is completely accurate. Carlito stumbles over Carolina after she is attacked by her employer. His obsession with her is instant but she disappears before he can steal her away safely. As he runs Rome, there is no place for her to hide. What follows once he finds her is obsession at it's best. Plenty of heat, action, some drama from a misunderstanding but through it all a man that is driven to make this woman his.

5 STARS for Obsession by Lena Little

Copy received from Booksprout and author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

Obsession is an excellent title for this book because from the get go - Carlito becomes obsessed with Carolina. The story is a bit predictable but it’s fast paced and well written.

Great chemistry and a happily ever after! . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Obsession is the story of Carolina and Carlito.

They meet when she’s running away from her stepbrother or brother I’m not sure, when she meets Carlito and asks him for help. He does but she runs away after he beats up the guy. Carlito goes crazy trying to find her and once he does, he claims her. He gets mad when she wants to leave and basically he makes them fake passports and is like let’s start a new life and let’s go to Singapore and live there. She’s hesitant but then he asks her to marry him to which she says yes. They have a HEA and 10 kids.

Solid 4/5

Carlito and Carolina

Great story. Carolina is 18 years old in a pickle. She left America, travelling all the way to Italy, to be a babysitter to a wealthy family but things didn't go as planned when she was forced to flee when the husband assumed her duties included bedding the boss. She runs blindly almost getting run over by a man that comes to her rescue. But did she jump from the fire into the frypan? Highly recommended

Brilliant read loved it

Carlito never knew when he stopped his car that he would see the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life together but first he needs to save Carolina.
Carolina runs from Carlito but he finds her and shows her what it is like to be his woman. After a misunderstanding thinking Carlito was going to hand her in for the ransom that is out for her he shows Carolina what their future looks like and she wants to be by his side for the rest of her life.
