First of all, I'd love to congratulate the author on her amazing debut🎉👏

Coming to the book,I liked the cover which has a mysterious touch to it which shall be revealed as you read it.

As I went on reading,it felt like it was a mixture of Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments, but, make no mistake, this is a book in its own right.
Because of the magical realism depicted and Gemma's biological background,it might lead you to believe that but it is not so.

I loved to see that our protagonist wasn't an overnight success to be a powerful witch. She was an entirely unaware 19yo girl, who didn't know she was a witch, much less how powerful she was.
It was good to see that she learnt from her mistakes and she had a love for reading through which she learnt some more magic, although unknowingly that wasn't something she should have had access to.

Her love interest,Tobler,is also someone I liked. He had powers of his own and loved her immensely to the extent he was willing to endanger his own life. It was a nice love story they've here.

I am not sure if I like or hate Orianna. The prologue made me fall in love with her and her attitude but as the story progresses, she got on my nerves with her mother hen behaviour. I understand that she would be protective over her niece but sometimes,it was as if Gemma's personality and thinking just didn't matter and it was like she was treating a dog 'sit, stand, bark, repeat'. Anything out of line and she would be pissed off. I also didn't understand her borderline loathing towards Tobler. There were several hints but no concrete basis to go by. I hope to see the answers to these unresolved questions in the upcoming books.

Zavier has been a constant pillar to Orianna with her stubbornness,Gemma with her naïveté and with Tobler as a father figure/friend. He was the only character who made sense in the most absurd of situations and arguments to me.

Gemma's adoptive mother had little role to play and I wanted to know what happened to her after Gemma left or if it's something that has slipped my mind even if I read it..?

I didn't like that some parts of the book seemed to drag on and could have been avoided. But as the story progressed,I understood that it was a necessary evil to add flesh to the skeleton of the story.
The culmination in the dream, which is one of the first times I have seen to be a battlefield of sorts, was well executed.

There was this robed character who is in confidence with both Leo and Orianna and I suspect that to be Maggie. However,it is not revealed to us. So,I expect to see more of friendship, betrayal, love and loss in the upcoming book.

All in all,it was a fabulous read that I finished within 36hours.

I'd recommend this book to readers who enjoy magical realism, fantasy,Harry Potter series and The Mortal Instruments.
But do keep in mind that this is an entirely new and different book on its own!

Oliver's antique
One of the best book I've read this month
It's an amazing fantasy novel with magical powers and the best characters❤️.
Gemma is unaware of the magical powers she beholds 🔮 but when she visits Oliver's antiques the truth enlightens changing her life forever.

October month went so hectic for me
Everything was Just messed up. This book lighted up my mood and I am so glad I picked up this book to read.
I loved tobler how he flirted around (in a good way ) and also loved zavier and orriana , their relationship made my heart flutter.
So if you're looking around to read something witchy this book is perfect.
Also recommended for the fans of hp
(When I read first chapter, I thought I would recommend it to cruel prince fans cause orriana in the first chapter gave off major Jude duarte vibes 😳)

Favourite quote
“I don’t think you’re crazy at all. When you love something, or someone, it doesn’t have to make sense. It’s all based on emotion and instinct. If you feel this place is your home, then it must be true. Love, in any of its many forms, isn’t supposed to make sense because it is not ruled by logic.”
( Long captions can be boring , so I'll rant about this book in my stories 🤎❤️, hehe!!)

I thought it was an interesting theory that an older witch could have knowledge of magic that is no longer 'around'. It felt too simple for a character to have a 'lust for power', but being consumed by power is something viable. The cauldron seemed like a very typical witch item to have.
I was interested in knowing about the antagonist's history, and perhaps the history that has led to the current day - though the motivations seemed slightly flimsy.
I enjoyed some of the atmosphere of the book as well as the writing style - though I didn't always agree with the way Gemma's aunt and uncle referred to Tobler.
I got a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Review of book 'Oliver's Antiques' by author 'Vincenza Di Martino'

My Rating - 4.2/5 ⭐
Genre- Fantasy/ Thriller
Length- 424 pages
Author -Vincenza Di Martino

Oliver's Antiques talks about Gemma, an orphan who discovers that she has some mysterious powers. The story covers her journey to realising her strength and finding truth about her past.

Starting with the cover of the book, it's designed very neatly. The cover is very intriguing.

The next thing that caught my attention was the prologue. The prologue was written beautifully.
It peeked my interest to start reading the book right away.

I liked the writing style of the author. It kept me hooked untill the end. The vocabulary was rich in words and the
Scene description was done beautifully.
It felt as if the scenes were unfolding before my eyes.

I really liked how well the characters were crafted.
Certain characters radiated sketchy vibes that kept me in suspense throughout the book.
I loved Gemma's character, how this 19 year old wasn't just a perfectionist, but she made mistakes too throughout her journey.

I liked the character of Tobias as well.
He was a  good boyfriend and even has a good sense of humour which works as a plus point.

Zavier's character was the most sane one throughout the book. He was the one with a good sense of direction. He kept his calm throughout the panic scenes and made sensible points which I liked the most.

Last but not the least is Orianna. I kind of found her sketchy.
I liked her, but I think her character might take up turn in the next book.
She is a good aunt to Gemma, but she is someone who is overprotective which irritated me a lot.

Having said that the author did a fabulous job, and I loved the book even more after learning that this is her debut book.

This is a story containing elements of witch, magic, love, pain and friendship. There are some unanswered mysteries which I look forward to read more in the next installment.

However, I felt that the story could have been cut down a little. However, since this is the forst part of the book, I can't really tell when a small incident can turn into a turning point for the next book.

Final Say - I would like to recommend this books to people who love to read fantasy or thriller. This book is a gem!
Looking forward to read the next sequel soon.

Oliver's Antiques by Vincenza Di Martino is the best book that I red in this genere.

A story bound with enchantment, dream, black magic, diverse domain, mixture, spells, underhanded and a lot more supernatural elements.
The hero of the story is a young lady of 19 years who was a witch yet had no clue about it and her forces .
Character of Gemma has been composed wonderfully whether it was her honest energy on tracking down her genuine family and about herself. I enjoyed how her person got down to business in the story and knowledgeable in the peak for the following period of her person as well.
Orianal character was mind boggling as it has many layers, beginning from before, responsibility, love for her family and a perfect inclination to save them from hurt. I preferred how her person unfurled showing a layer each time. Tobler character was solid, strong and adorable. He was clever and amazing. His capacity to peruse different feelings was a significant piece of the book and Gemma's life. I enjoyed how he really focused on her yet some of the time it felt excessively over defensive.
The whole story will come before your eyes as you continue to peruse ahead. Larger part of the battle, feelings will cause you to relate effectively to them .
The language is amateurs amicable and quick moving portrayal and very much set up parts made the perusing experience wonderful. The person and world structure in the story was very much point by point and made a legitimate laid up for the following book. The cover is a straightforward one however lovely and it shows a brief look into the story as well.
This book is a fine blend of imagination and enchantment. On the off chance that you appreciate perusing dream books, this may very well be a beginning of an astonishing series loaded up with sorcery.
An extremely captivating and Intersting plot. Incredible eye appealing cover that can draw in perusers without any problem. An exceptionally enchanted and dream book so individuals who love these classes will disobediently love it up as I did.

We begin this book with a harrowing scene of familial loss as we meet Orianna Oliver. She is evidently the last member of her family alive and she is broken by the loss that she believes she should have prevented.
The story then skips ahead and we meet Gemma and her antique loving mom on the trail of treasures. Although Gemma doesn’t really love to go antiquing, she loves her mom and they stumble across a new store called Oliver’s Antiques. Once inside the store is bigger and odder than either expect and while the separate to browse, Gemma finds a necklace that calls to her and a hidden door in the shop. The owner is in fact, Orianna Oliver and Gemma is her long lost niece.
Without saying more about the story, the fantasy is set with our world being the “Echo” of the land of witches, warlocks, werewolves and nature walkers.

The book has good pace, and the characters feel real. There are some editing issues, things like misspellings, pronoun errors, and a few other mistakes that in no way damage the story. These small typos will likely be corrected when caught by a copy editor. The strength of the book is its interplay between the characters and the world that has been built, but I can’t help but wish for a bit more time and energy into development of the characters. Tobler may be the best developed and we see a fair bit of his internal life, but Gemma’s relationship with her mom is underutilized. I mean by this that Gemma’s mom could be completely left out and it wouldn’t have mattered. The author may be doing this on purpose, but it felt a bit like we needed a family to leave so that the new family could be compared with something.

The author has a solid start to a series and I will be interested to see what happens next. This book gets a 4 from me due to have strong characters and a realistic world with a bit more work to really flesh it out. The story is a good read and will certainly engage teens as well as adults. Definitely worth a read!

Oliver's Antiques by Vincenza Di Martino is the first book in the Witch's Folly book series. A story laced with magic, fantasy, witchcraft, different realm, potion, spells, evil and many more magical entities.

Gemma character has been written beautifully whether it was her childlike excitement on finding her real family and about herself. I liked how her character shaped up in the story and well versed in the climax for the next phase of her character too. The other characters were written well too but Zavier has to be my favourite amongst them as he had a good mind and well tuned in his thought. His character was always in the focus and I enjoyed his witty sense of humour too.

Orianna character was complex as it has many layers, starting from her past, guilt, love for her family and an impeccable urge to save them from harm. I liked how her character unfolded showing a layer each time. Tobler character was strong, bold and lovable. He was witty and powerful. His ability to read other emotions was a major part of the book and Gemma's life. I liked how he cared for her but sometimes it felt too over protective.

The language is beginners friendly and fast paced narration and well put up chapters made the reading experience magnificent. The character and world building in the story was well detailed and made a proper laid up for the next book. The cover is a simple one but pretty and it shows a glimpse into the story too. This book is a fine combination of fantasy and magic. If you enjoy reading fantasy books, this might just be a start of an amazing series filled with magic.

by 𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐚 𝐃𝐢 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨

🔮This book is mainly centered around a 19 year old girl named, Gemma who was totally unaware of the magical source she beholds in herself.

🔮The story beautifully scales her priceless journey, that how she goes from being unaware of the magical world to a eager person who craves knowledge and understanding about her ancestoral realm.

🔮I like the author's narration in the book which is quite rich and neat with swiftly flowing writing style.

🔮The other thing which amplifies the grace of the story according to me, is the depth with which all the characters are explained. They really adds a proper structure to the whole storyline.

🔮The story explores the witchy elements one by one which gives a spooky but intriguing vibes.

🔮The cover of the book looks unique and is perfect for the story.

🔮I really want to appreciate the author here for her fine work in her debut book.

🔮I would definitely recommend this book to the Potter heads and to those who are into reading something unique but intense in fantasy genre.

"Oliver's Antiques" is a tour to magical world with Gemma a 19 yr old witch who is unaware of her powers and potential. Story starts with Gemma searching for her biological parents. She was raised Knowing that she was adopted. Her parents treated her well however her heart aches to know about her biological parents. Will she able to find them? When she finds them what challenges will be on her way?
The story withheld essence of friendship, love, betrayal, and many more with twist and turns. The another centric character is Orianna reader can't decide whether to hate or admire her. On the other hand character of Tobler is charming. Love between Tobler and Gemma is crafted beautifully. Story had been drafted intriguing with connecting language and remarkable writing style. Cover is stupendous.

Line from story:
Gemma froze at the thought of leaving the only world
she’d known to see where she belonged. Belonged. The
word tasted sweet in her mouth, tipping her decision. If
she didn’t go now, then when? Why wait?

I did like this book a lot. It reminded me in some ways of the type of fantasy stories that I liked as a child/teenager. There was a theme of magic in the story, and I felt that the author created a world for the reader to escape into. That's important to me as a reader - I like the books I read to be an escape, something that serves as a distraction from everyday life, just for a little while.

I warmed to the central characters quickly and found them all very likeable. I enjoyed the ways in which the characters connected with each other, and how they all looked out for and supported each other. There was also some playful banter between them, which I found amusing. There was some romance in the story, and I felt it was enough to warm the heart of the reader and potentially make them smile, without distracting them from the rest of the story.

I enjoyed Gemma's journey and how she learned more about herself, and the world that she became part of. If this book is part of a series, and there are other books featuring these characters, I may be interested in reading those at some point in the future.

Gemma is just a normal orphan girl living with her adoptive mother but when she realises that she's a witch and belongs to the strong witch bloodline, her journey begins to unravel the truth about her past. It's a very nice story that keeps you guessing on what will happen next when you're taken into this fantasy world where magic, witches exists who possess magical abilities inside them. The author has a way with words and even though the subject matter is sometimes dark, there is a lot of great humor and touching moments along the way.

The author has created a world where anything can happen, and one where you cannot help but be immersed in this story. I loved the way the other supporting characters are written with enough depth that they enhance the storyline and help the story flow easily. Part of me just wants to gush about the writing, the plot, the characters, the depth, the enchanting magical realism writing style. I don't want to pick things apart, like I normally do. This is a story about finding out who you are. A story about love, loss, friendship.

I love books which have many things inclided in them like suspense, good story, relatabitlity, etc. And this was one such kind of a book. Oliver's Antiques is written by Vincenza Martino. The protagonist of the story is a girl of 19 years who was a witch but had no idea about it and her powers . The genre of magic and witches wasn't much explored by me but after reading this I am surely gonna read more of it as I really loved the book. The characters are built well as it feels real. The entire story will come in front of your eyes as you keep reading ahead. Majority of the struggle, emotions will make you relate easily to them . How one can learn from one's mistakes is a good lesson everybody can learn from the book. A very intriguing and Intersting plot. Great eye catchy cover that can attract readers easily. A very magical and fantasy book so people who love these genres will defiantly have a great time like I did. Kudos to the author for this amazing debut.

🟤 The book took me to an epic journey throughout the book.

🟤 This story is about Gemma, an orphan, who's life changes forever when she visits Oliver's antique.

🟤 I really liked Gemma's character as she  was trying to find her true self and the magic in her.

🟤 When I started the book I fell in love  with Oriana but as we came to the end of the story her character completely changed and I don't know if I like her anymore.

🟤 This book gave me Narnia vibes and other magical worlds.

🟤 The realm of Goblidet is mesmerizing. I loved it and would like to explore it more.

🟤 The writing of the book kept me hooked throughout the book.

🟤 Now, coming to the cover,  it's pretty.

🟤 This book is a story of humor, witch, power and love.

🟤 This book was not like any another book that I have read so far and would recommend this to all of my fellow readers out here.

A great debut to the world of Goblidet!

This is a wonderful story full of humor, relatable characters, and page turning suspense! With the prevalence of new authors it's always a treat to find one that stirs emotions and imagination, Witch's Folly does just that! Through whirlwind emotional scenes you'll feel the characters hurt, love, and struggle. You'll be celebrating their victories and gritting your teeth through their failures. I, for one, am eager to dive back into this chaotic world and see what's in store for Gemma, Tobler, and the rest.

Pros:
1) The writing style was gripping and rich with the concept of magic. It adhered to its theme of fantasy and thrill pretty well.

2) The characters and places especially Goblidet are well-elaborated to give the readers a strong backdrop

3) Gemma is a well-crafted character and the way her journey was portrayed, I felt as if I am a part of that journey as well.

Cons:
The plot is not very unique. I did not feel like I am reading something like this for the first time. Gemma's backdrop reminded me of a very popular character from the magical realm (You Know Who).

Honestly I love your writing style, it was a beautiful piece of art but...
It was just too predictable to me

Knowing fully well it's your debut I'd have to say congratulations, but the plot was way too simple and predictable, I expected more suspense but the book was simply simple, you did a beautiful thing with the forgotten magic and dark magic but I felt the character, which is Gemma and her aunt lacked depth.

I hope the second release would be more suspenseful and a little bit tasking.
