Essential Oil Magic... 📚I've been getting into essential oils for a couple of years now and was interested in a book that would give me a basic run down of what each oil is used for and how to combine them for specific results. This book contains a lot of excellent information on essential oils and what to look for, carrier oils, and basic EO information plus recipes. No judgment but, all of the talk about spells was just a little bit beyond me. I should have discerned the difference between the magic of essential oils and essential oil magic. The basic information and history of essential oils is exactly what I was looking for! It does have an excellent section of 30 magic essential oils which are basically 30 basic essential oils. This book has a great section on how to combine different oils for specific results such as a recipe promoting healing rest and sleep or or a recipe promoting healing and/or good respiratory qualities. It's easy to pick out of this book exactly what you need and set the rest aside. I'll probably still keep looking for a more concise guide on the qualities of each specific oil and how to blend them but for now, this is a good tool & a worthwhile read. 📚 Summary that that when I saw the title of this book I assumed it was about the magic of essential oils.. One should not make assumptions, and one should read subtitles 😅 As I mentioned, this is a good book with some good information, just pick out what works for you and pass by what doesn't. It's a good basic tool in terms of the essential oil descriptions and recipes.
I picked up this book because I wanted to know more about essential oils to help me make candles. Candles aren't as deeply discussed as some of the beauty products. However, it was just deep enough of a dive into sourcing, dilutions, and ratios to give me a starting point. The 30 essential oils profiled will definitely be helpful with developing blends.
Thoughts: This is a good book to have for your shelves (and to use!) if you are into green magic. There is a lot of information in these pages. According to the author, essential oil magic is a subset of green witchcraft and is a combination of both art and science. She sets up the background by giving you the history, what to look for when buying oils, storage, carrier oils (and their pros and cons), and blending. She also adds a lot of cautions. Everyone is different and everyone reacts differently to oils. They can be beneficial, but also dangerous. There is a listing of the thirty most common oils to use and each listing has: name, common name, Latin name, folk name, polarity, magical intentions, planetary ruler, elemental ruler, description, uses, precautions, and substitutes. The recipes that follow list the ingredients, amounts, directions, and equipment. Following these are charts for substitutes, a glossary, and resources.
In other words, this is a valuable book to have on hand for your spell casting. The only thing I would have added to it—and thus making it a five star—would have been color pictures of the plants. Descriptions are nice, but pictures are even better.
Recommendation: If you’re thinking of adding oils to your spell casting practice, this is a good book to have for reference.

This has solid aromatherapy information and references. The magical parts of the recipes are based on affirmations and clear straightforward intentions.
As a long time witch and aromatherapy user, I would say there is at least one blend that would benefit you out of this book.
As a beginner in the realm. I do have to say that I have learned alot and am yearning to learn more. In my spiritual journey I plan to use my knowledge to help heal and give others hope and perspective.
Great starter into oil magic and includes measured instructions and warning about certain herbs. I do wish the kindle version wasn't on a tan background and that there was more recipes but over all it was great
Had a lot of really great information - I really appreciated the notes around the longevity of carrier oils. Took a lot of notes for my own personal practice.
