The Watchmaker 2

Rate this book
The Saga Continues as ten years have passed, and the Watchmaker and his family are now settled into their thriving new jewelry business, in the heart of New York City's jewelry district. Despite their emotional anguish, they manage to somehow move on from the horrors and their hardships of the Holocaust.

Until one summer afternoon, without notice a mysterious stranger appeared in their shop, and after a short introduction, he began sharing his never before spoken, tragic and compelling story of his family's horrific demise in the Auschwitz concentration camp. It was one of the most heinous and barbaric concentration camps ever devised by the Germans.

He had personally devoted the past eight years of what was left of his painfully broken hearted life, searching for the Nazi degenerate who had escaped justice and perpetrated the sadistic murder of his two little boys. Now, after laying in wait for all those years, that loathsome scoundrel had finally crawled from out of his rancid cesspool, and the vengeful stranger finally had the knowledge of this demon's whereabouts. In his mind there was only one family that could help him execute the proper justice and retribution that this evil, diabolical Nazi butcher deserved.

That family was; The Watchmaker, with his sons Jacob and Benny..."The Shecket's Boy".

I just finished the Watchmaker 2. It is a fast paced, exciting read. It is about family, faith in God, and retribution for crimes committed against a family. I liked the twists and turns presented in the book. There are so many that the reader will guess what will happen next, all the way to the very end! Without giving up the plot, I enjoyed Mr. Blocher's use of historical figures in the novel to give an accurate perspective on their characters. I then researched the people written about in the book and found that their portrayal was on the mark. All the more making me root for the heroes Benny, Jacob, Hanna and their father. There are other subplots that are enjoyable too. Overall, this was a great, quick and fun book.
