When Felix the Quiz Bowl Champion reveals other oversized assets besides his brain, it takes PJ, the super-wheeler-dealer, to wangle maximum profits from it—in bets, wet jock strap contests, and Wang of the Week.
But winning money turns out to be second to falling in lust, and sexual escapades replace time at the poker tables as the number-one activity of their wicked week in Vegas.
Still, accepting the hospitality of PJ’s father’s client, the mobster Joey Oretano, proves a nearly fatal money-saving scheme, and brings Felix and PJ face-to-face with the serious side of life. Very. Serious.
Will someone take the chance to be a hero? Or will someone wind up dead?
BETTING ON HIS BF is a friends-to-lovers, bisexual awakening, what-happens-in-Vegas-can-win-you-money, dash-of-suspense, MM romance—with large assets.
Having been, at various times and under different names, a minister’s daughter, a computer programmer, the author of paranormal mysteries, a game designer, an organic farmer, an avid hiker, and a profound sleeper, Eli is happily embarking on yet another incarnation as a m/m romance author.
As an addicted reader of such, she is tinkled pink when an author manages to combine literary merit, vast stores of humor, melting hotness and eye-dabbing sweetness into one story. She promises to strive to achieve most of that most of the time. She currently lives on a farm in Pennsylvania with her husband, three bulldogs, three cows and six chickens. All of them (except for the husband) are female, hence explaining the naked men that have taken up residence in her latest fiction writing.

...well i have never read a romance where one of the heroes sucks his own dick. a first time for everything, i guess??
but this was cute, until the whole random mafia plot line hijacked the storyline? i literally skimmed the fuck out of it just wanting it to be solved bcos it was so absurd and melodramatic. i wanted more of PJ and Felix together... not whatever tf this ended up being.
PJ and Felix as a couple would probably be a four star read. but the side plot ruined the fuck out of this book💀 then the abrupt ending had me finally settling on two stars bcos it seriously felt like this book went from 0-100 within a matter of pages. shame since i actually loved the romance and their friendship in the beginning is what hooked me... but this author duo fell victim to some Lucy Lennox shit.
I loved the MCs! Felix is all brains, sass, and smart mouth. He doesn't show it, but he's a little insecure about his body. He's also very much in love with his best friend; he just doesn't know it yet.
PJ is savvy and charming. He can bet the pants off you, and you'll leave naked but smiling. PJ's always thinking of quick ways to make a buck, always scheming, and sometimes even cheating. It's what his wealthy rich financier father taught him: Winners win, and losers lose.
And there's a third MC: Felix's schlong, his tool, his phallus, his ... you get the picture.
Felix is packing, y'all, so of course PJ finds a way to capitalize on Felix's assets and enters him in a Wet Wang contest, which is exactly as hilarious as it sounds. Felix gets decked out as Loki and works it hard so he can win for PJ.
The first part of the book is just so dang cute. It's all friends-to-lovers and bisexual awakening/exploration. PJ is fascinated with Felix's dick (I mean, who wouldn't be?) and is determined to take it all (the man does love a challenge). That scene in the bathtub is WOW, so so hot.
Around 60 percent, however, it's like someone pulled a switch lever and the story went careening off the tracks.
The blurb references a mobster named Joey, and we all know fiction involving mobsters and crime syndicates is rarely believable.
PJ's dad falls from grace and all of a sudden PJ becomes collateral. Felix comes to the rescue in a very creative fashion involving a dumbwaiter and an Elvis costume. The guys execute their Great Escape and make it just in time for the Wang of the Week contest.
And yeah, it's a lot. The plot loses the "real life" feeling of the previous three books.
Surprisingly, I didn't mind this too much. Yes, it's a bit silly and not at all realistic, but it's still PJ and Felix! I saw the plot holes but chose to ignore them because I wanted to enjoy the rest of the ride.
Be prepared to put on your fiction shades and GO because PJ and Felix are definitely worth it.
So much about Betting on His BF was outrageous. Aspects of the plot, PJ’s constant scheming, Felix’s super huge schlong…all of it OUTRAGEOUS, bordering on silly and OTT at many points in this story, to which most readers will surely agree.
But you know what? I had a blast reading this story! Outrageousness be damned, because PJ and Felix’s Vegas shenanigans were a whole truckload of fun to follow. And, quite frankly, any book that can make me smile and keep me entertained the way this one did, is a win in my book.
This story definitely had a different vibe to it than its three predecessors, but that is certainly not a bad thing. Where the rest of the series bounced heavily off the enemies-to-lovers trope, PJ and Felix broke the mold as already fully cemented besties, despite their jock and nerd status, respectively.
What played out the same was how perfectly these opposites attracted, this time exploring some delicious double bi-curiosities while on a bro-trip to Vegas together.
Less serious than some of the previous books, this one certainly had its silly, laugh-out-loud at the crazy situations, thing going for it. With PJ always looking for a quick way to make money and with Felix’s extra special endowment just sitting there waiting to be capitalized on, Vegas certainly was the place for these two college guys to play to their strengths, as it were.
Despite all the theatrics, which included a highly entertaining wet wang contest, PJ and Felix’s relationship shifted with such ease and eagerness that I couldn’t help the goofy grin I had on my face just thinking about them.
There was some true silliness towards the end, involving a kidnapping and gangsters, but even that didn’t deter me from the overall fun I was having reading this story.
Easton and Lain’s Nerds vs Jocks series has been a major success for me, for one reason or another, from book to book, and this, although a bit different, was a fun way to round the series out on a super positive and joyful note.
I, for one, can’t wait to venture into the next co-written series these authors whip up (next on the menu, the Hot Cannolis series), because this is one collab team I now trust wholeheartedly with my reading enjoyment.
Well, that was a ride. A lot happened, but probably a bit too much. I skimmed quite bit of this book and was still bored at times. I loved Dusty Rose and everything about the contest, the sex scenes were hot, and I really enjoyed the follow up with past characters. That’s about it.
P.S. One of the MCs takes a 14 inch dick like it’s nothing…sure.
Best friends to lovers Bi-awakening Zero angst about awakening A huge “member” It’s basically another character Inconceivable plot points Weak resolution
Although I’ll never pick up this book again, I know that I’ll never get images from this story out of my head.
This made me laugh so much. PJ is such a piece of work, I totally felt sorry for Felix. He didn't stand a chance. But what a story 😂 it's the final book in the Nerds vrs Jocks series, all which I've enjoyed immensely. This one has to be my favourite. It's basically a Romcom, and such a romp. Together the guys, are absolutely hilarious, and work so well together. I loved the mystery/suspense element, as well as their growing bond. Simply a superb read. Had me howling with laughter😂
PJ and Felix's trip to Las Vegas, what can go wrong? This whole story is about PJ and Felix's shenanigans and misadventure at Vegas. Is funny and over the top, but all in good fun. Felix's enormous dong sounds monstrous, everyone was *gasp* shocked, while PJ just wanna eat the magical peen. I find the side plot with the mafia not as interesting as I would like. Honestly, I miss the college setting and the other side characters. We only get to see them in the epilogue, which is left me wanting for more.
This book is hilarious. I had so much fun reading it.
The misadventures of two best friends in Las Vegas, it features a lot of fun shenanigans – dick measurement contest, wet jockstrap contest, cheating at poker, and even a run-in with the mob that resulted in a thrilling rescue mission. I didn’t have a dull moment with this book.
I found the two MCs very cute and endearing in their determination to have a blast in Vegas, despite being short on cash. One is a schemer, the other a reluctant sidekick with a renowned asset inside his pants, which was mercilessly exploited for profit by his entrepreneur best friend. Along the way, in and out of troubles, the BF as in best friend became the BF boyfriend. They realized how they were meant for each other all this time of being inseparable pals.
This novel has all the trademark humors from the writing duo of Eli Easton & Tara Lain. If you love their rom-coms in the past, pick up this book. It’s part of a 4-book series, but can be read as a standalone.
Betting on His BF is the fourth book in the ‘Nerd vs Jocks’ series. It stars Felix, the Quiz Bowl Champion, and PJ, aka Parker, the Jock. This is told in first person through both Felix and PJ’s povs.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the authors. I am leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
I rarely DNF a book and most especially not a book by one of these authors who happens to be a long-term favorite, but this story is so OTT that I can't go on. 35% is the most I can manage. I didn't even get to the kidnapping, which I know is coming because (out of boredom) i scoped out the latter part of the story.
I laughed at some of the characters antics in the beginning but the whole thing was just too unreal from the oversized wang to ostensibly straight boy PJ, who asks to lick it, to the Mafia family friend who gifts them a luxurious suite for days on end to... I digress. I am very disappointed.
This is the last book in the Nerds vs Jocks series, and it was a great way to close out the series. It’s different from the first 3 books in that this one can be read as a standalone and the MCs were already friends instead of being enemies. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments as well as a but of suspense, but even that had its funny moments. As with the rest of the series, I couldn't put this book down. I hope we get a short story with all these guys in the future, since I hate saying goodbye to them.
I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.
PJ and Felix in Las Vegas. Craziness ensues. Which sort of explains why Felix has entered a wet jockstrap competition, he knew he was just going to be humiliated but PJ assured him he could win. His rather large attribute leads to winning a contest and in a roundabout way to fleeing mobsters.
Good character development. The relationship between the main characters benefited from their strong friendship.
I felt that it kind of went off the rails with the mobster part of the story. However it was a funny and fun book. Laugh out loud in places.
Voto 4,5 .
Okay, non me l’aspettavo…
Avevo caldo, stavo bruciando.
Malizioso, divertente, rocambolesco e very, very hot.
In un bilico costante tra "what the..." e "oh mamma devo leggere tutto e subito".
Diverso.
No, non scherzo.
Troppe parolacce.
What a finale to the Nerds vs Jocks series. This very well may be my favourite out of them all.
This is the 4th in the Nerds vs Jocks series, you can read it as a standalone though and I think you'd still get a lot out of it. All the way through the series both PJ and Felix have been recurring characters, PJ has perhaps been a bit more visible because of his penchant for running bets. Felix though we've had references to him all the way through and his somewhat large ... attribute.
Right from the start, this book is a completely fun road trip. Felix and PJ are so different yet they work so well together. PJ is the ultimate wheeler-dealer and Felix his long suffering partner in crime. More than once Felix's large attribute gets them out of trouble. I couldn't stop laughing at PJ's antics in the diner and then entering Felix in the wet jockstrap contest.
Amongst all the humour though there's real feelings there, it was good to see that PJ realised he'd maybe pushed Felix too far out of his comfort zone and at least felt bad about it, only for Felix to embrace it and shine on the stage. These two are just so perfect for each other and I really think this pairing was my favourite. Lots, and LOTS of sexual chemistry too between them - I liked that PJ put Felix at ease about his appearance, and made him feel better about people only wanting him for the curiosity value of his large appendage.
Amongst all the humour and sexual tension, there's a good story here with PJ's dad and vegas mobsters that adds a great dramatic twist alongside the humour.
What a finish to this series, I loved it.
I received an ARC from GRR and this was my honest review.
This is not a book I would normally enjoy. The problems with the Mob would normally deter me from continuing. Yet, the almost hilarious matching of the main characters is captivating. Felix, the nerd is the one I identify with mostly but when he realizes he is willing to save Parker and Parker also realizes how much he misses Felix, then you know you have a HEA ending. I did find the Epilogue difficult as I had not read about the other nerds and jocks but otherwise this is a book that can stand alone.
Betting on His BF is a delightful addition to the Nerds vs Jocks series by Eli Easton & Tara Lain. Felix may be smart, short and thin but he is quite the stud on campus. PJ is an athlete and no dummy. When the Nerds and Jocks were forced to get along Felix and PJ became friends. They plan a trip to Las Vegas to find some fun. What they find is so much more. This story is filled with love, fear and laugh out loud hijinks. I absolutely adored this story.
Great end of this series!!! PJ and Felix makes this book really good and entertaining, this two have a great chemistry and their banter is hilarious, so many heartwarming moments, their steamy scenes are of the charts!!! I love their friendship and how things happen between them. There are a few moments that I was reading faster because I want to know what it’s going to happen because these two are in big trouble!! OMG!!! The suspense was killing me…lol. I enjoy so much this book and I highly recommend it!
What a great finale to this series! I am going to miss these guys. Immediately we’re thrust into the chaos that is PJ when he’s got an idea and poor Felix is usually at the center of it. This book was hilarious from the beginning and I loved the dynamic between PJ and Felix. I read the blurb so was familiar with the mob storyline and wasn’t sure how that was going to fit in, but the story flowed seamlessly. I really hope there’s more collaborative writing in Eli Easton’s and Tara Lain’s future because they write wonderful books together.
Betting on His Best Friend, Nerds VS Jocks book four by Eli Easton and Tara Lain. This m/m romance had a lot of funny, Hot, adventures. Great characters! I wish I had read the books before this one. I’m sure they’re fantastic!
Good but not my favorite, I know it's fiction but the ending ruined it for me. It was like putting a Bruce Willis movie ending in, with all the unbelievable stuff that no one would get away with in real life. *****Spoiler*****
Seriously, escape from the gangster and then testify against him? He'd totally send someone after you to shut you up. Just don't testify and let him go down for his other crimes. At that point you are probably forgotten as he's dealing with the FBI. And come on there was the perfect out, tell Joey about Felix saving Angie, done and done and way more believable. And when you do escape, you still go to participate in a dick measuring contest, yeah, no....

Best friends Felix and PJ of ‘Betting on his BF’ by Eli Easton and Tara Lain go on a road trip to Las Vegas. Even though they are from rival fraternities, they have always gotten along well. PJ’s ability to make the most out of every situation promises to make it a trip they will both remember.
On the way, Felix and PJ stop at a diner with a huge buffet. When it’s time to pay, they can’t afford the bill. PJ makes a bet with the manager, who looks like a bouncer, that Felix is more “well endowed” than he is. If Felix wins, then their meal is free. Of course, everyone figures that there is no way a little guy like Felix could win, but it doesn’t concern PJ because he already knows Felix will be hard to beat in the “size” department. While the judging is taking place, PJ busies himself, taking bets on the outcome. It amazes the crowd when the “judge” declares Felix the winner.
When they arrive in Vegas, they need somewhere to stay. Instead of looking for a cheap hotel, PJ drives to one of the most expensive ones there. Felix wonders how they can afford a hotel so luxurious. PJ explains it belongs to one of his father’s clients, Joe Orentago. PJ’s family has an open invitation to stay there anytime they are in Las Vegas. Felix is nervous about staying at the hotel and the two gangster-type men who greet them do nothing to allay his fears. The men usher PJ and Felix to the most ornate suite either of them has ever seen. Felix is ready to gamble, but PJ quickly warns him that the casinos rig the games. Instead, PJ contacts Norman, a hotel employee, for a list of out-of-the-way places. Armed with this list, PJ and Felix set off on their adventure.
As the week goes on, PJ takes Felix to several “shady” places, looking for ways to make money. One is a gay bar whose night’s highlight is a wet jockstrap contest with a $1,000 prize. Naturally, PJ talks Felix into entering; he becomes the show’s star and signs up for the weekly competition with a $5,000 prize. Things are going great for PJ and Felix until Mr. Orentagao receives news that the authorities have arrested PJ’s father for embezzlement. Suddenly, PJ becomes a bargaining chip to help Orentagao recoup some of his losses.
‘Betting on his BF’ is a hilarious and naughty friends-to-loves story. Eli and Tara outdid themselves with this addition to the series. Often, I laughed long and hard at PJ and Felix’s antics. Even when they were in trouble, their escape plan had its funny moments. Thanks, Eli and Tara, for such an enjoyable read and, of course, for giving PJ and Felix their happy ending.
I’ve enjoyed this series, and PJ and Felix’s opposites attract/friends to lovers story rounds it out nicely. As with others in the series, there’s a focus on family, but in a completely different way. I loved how the story starts as a road trip to have fun in Vegas then morphs into suspense, but with a few crazy twists and turns.
PJ is a little nuts with his wheeling and dealing, but he has a huge heart, while Felix is more cautious and a really good guy. I felt for PJ when he realises the truth about his parents, and in particularly his father, and reality comes crashing down. I thought the authors did a great job in showing how PJ, although being a bright guy, has accepted his reality without questioning it. I loved how Felix saves the day, and his perspective of PJ’s family.
The plot is a fun read until it takes a serious turn, and even then it doesn’t lose its edge of craziness. The supporting cast along the way are great, especially Dusty Rose.
I loved the epilogue and catching up with the other couples in the series a few years later. Very sweet end satisfying ending.
First off I hate to see the series end, it is such a fun series to read!! Jocks versus nerds - opposites attract, PJ and Felix did not disappoint! Road trip to Vegas, food, fun, competition, gambling. These two have a blast in Vegas, PH with all his schemes to get rich, Felix trying to let loose and try different things. But some things they did not expect, like who would rescue who when times get really tough.
There was so much more to this story than just having fun in Vegas, the straight nerd falling for the gay jock, having your family foundation rocked to the core and being caught in the middle of it and who has your back always. These ladies know how to write stories that have you up late at night reading and not wanting to put the book down!! You can’t go wrong choosing to read this series, all of the stories are that good!!
These authors have a real gift of selling their characters short. I mean that in the best way! Starting with the first book in the series, the side characters- who you know will be getting their own stories- are incredibly unappealing. They’re written as jerks or described in unattractive terms. I really had no desire to read any of their stories. Yet, when they do get their own books, the authors peel back the layers on their personalities, espousing the underlying motivations that the MCs from chars to real people that you begin to root for.
I couldn’t stand PJ and Felix in the other books - they were both rude and snarky- but they’re all charm here. This book takes place entirely off campus and is one long Vegas adventure. Even far-fetched, it’s a nice end to the series.
We have met Felix and PJ in the previous books. So I was excited that they were getting their own book! And this book isn’t like the previous books. PJ and Felix have been best friends since the two rival frat houses were forced to work together. They found friendship while the other guys found love. But something definitely changes when they are in Vegas together. There is so much hi-jinxed that happens on this trip and through all that they figure out their friendship is amazing but there is so much more between them. This book is funny, action packed, sweet and sexy. It has it all. I have loved all the books in this series but this one was definitely my favourite. I was so happy they gave these men a story but I’m sad that this series is done. I hope to see more collaborations between these two authors in the future
Well, they saved the best for last!!! This book was everything!!! These guys were everything, Felix and Pj's shenanigans were laugh out loud, side splitting funny!!! This book had a bit of everything.... sass galore, spice, humor, sweetness, mystery and last but not least swoon worthy love!!!! This was the best book in this series, hands down!!! If your looking for a classic rom/com that will have you literally laughing your butt off...this ones for you, it's a must read....trust me 😂 I loved it!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
Felix and PJ story was exhilarating, funny, with a touch of adrenalin and danger. I was so happy to see their journey to happiness, all the troubles they get into and how they ended from best friends to lovers. Their trip to Vegas brings them happiness, danger, they get closer than ever, PJ betting makes him conscious of his feelings for Felix, and Felix support and devotement makes him realise what love is. I liked the way they make friends that helps them in their time of need, their way to find a funny thing even in their most difficult moments and their reunion with their friends.
