My name is Honey Martinez. I live in New York City. I make coffee. I’m not a fan of staying in any one place for too damn long. I have a simple life and a few friends. Nothing special, but that’s because I’ve made it that way. My life has been lived in the shadows of my past, and it’s a past I’ve worked hard to run from. Well, everything except for one place—The Cairn Club.
New York City’s most exclusive and luxe BDSM club. It is a playground I’ve thrived in, a place where I am known, desired, and indulged. The freedom of the Cairn Club sustains me through my mundane every day, but all of that changes when Lawson Sokolov enters my world.
Lawson…
She’s the woman I shouldn’t want, but from the second I see her, Honey is all that I need. She’s sweet, open, and trusting in a way the city eats up and spits out. Every Dominant instinct in my body demands I protect her, keep her close, and that’s exactly what I intend to do—even though a smarter man would run from Honey.
In a world like mine, there’s no room for softness and soft is all Honey calls up in me. She makes me weak, but it’s the like I never thought to experience, not after what I’ve done to get to where I am. I’ve got blood on my hands, but Honey’s smile, her touch, the woman’s slightest kiss washes it all away and makes me believe that I can be a man worth a damn again.
What will happen when this couple is caught up in the inner workings of the Cairn? When the all-powerful Zeus takes an interest in Honey and Lawson is asked to play the role of protector, her shield against the man that would see her fall? Will they fight their attraction, or will they take a leap of faith and give in to the kinkiest desires of their hearts and find their own brand of happiness as Daddy and Little?
Honey, Honey is for fans of Midnight Poppy Land and anyone that goes weak for a gruff hero going sweet over their heroine of choice. This novel a darkly sweet and steamy BDSM romance novel with age play, DDlg, spanking, dirty talk, restraints, impact play, and a creepy lurking ex. All sex is explicitly consensual and deliciously enjoyed by all involved. Read Honey, Honey, the first novel in the Cairn Series Duet, for an emotionally fulfilling, kinky, BDSM romance novel replete with a yummy HFN.
Rebel Carter loves love. So much in fact that she decided to write the love stories she desperately wanted to read. A book by Rebel means diverse characters, sexy banter, a real big helping of steamy scenes, and, of course, a whole lotta heart.
Rebel lives in Colorado, makes a mean espresso, and is hell-bent on filling your bookcase with as many romance stories as humanly possible!
*foot note review* DNF at 28% I can’t stand so much description and inner monologue in books 😭 I tried reading this book and there was like 5 pages of just her describing things and talking to herself
2 different situations where a random woman is mad at the main character for being around the hot guy. ✨therapy with a side of misogyny✨
A chapter ended and the next chapter recapped what I just read.
Also, I’m convinced BDSM writers never Experienced that life style. Obviously neither have I, but what are the odds that 2 complete strangers have the same kinks and belong to same sex club. Give me a break.
Honey, Honey turned out to be more of a slow burn than I expected given what the content warning says. It definitely ends on a HFN, which had I known I probably would have waited to read this until it was a complete series. Much of the plot is left open with a bit of a mystery so I’m going to have to watch for more. :)
Law is the perfect man and Honey reminds me so much of myself. Their chemistry is off the charts and they really do enhance and make each other better which is the dream really. It has a satisfying HFN and I can't wait for the next book for their ultimate HEA!
DNF 36% through. I really tried to like this because of the great reviews and because the read up to the final book feedback could be worth it. But I think it's an epidemic for writers of romance lately where they choose to write endless inner monologue before getting to the point for each character. In this case, Honey's inner monologues were lengthy and confusing. There was a time jump in one of her chapters and it wasn't indicated until the middle of the chapter. I had to stop and re-read. Why is there so much information in-between dialogue? I had to go back to previous dialogue to figure out what was being answered in the next. It is supposed take place in New York City, but I'm not sure what the time period is due to old colloquialisms.
Pros: The heat between Lawson and Honey is electric and fires off the page. The way they're drawn to each other is very beautifully written and made me want more. I'm not a fan of the slow burn and this book didn't give me that. Lawson and Honey gave into their needs rather quickly, which I liked. Lawson's chapters were written better than Honey's. His inner monologue seemed to give me information that I needed to know.
Cons: Too much inner monologue between dialogue and actions. Wanted more actions and movement, rather than just thinking. It's natural for humans to overanalyze and overthink, but not for 2-3 pages when you're supposed to be in a conversation. Why is the inner monologue starting on the next chapter with a recap of what just happened in the last chapter? It's not like the character is reminiscing naturally. They're straight up giving a blow by blow which takes up space and doesn't get the reader any closer to the plot.
Can't comment on how well written the book is since I DNF'd.
If you don't mind a lot of inner monologue and repetition (probably a C.M Stunich fan) then I say read the book, but I won't be finishing this series.
Ok one thing you have to be ok with is BDSM to fully enjoy this book. The author shares some notes in the beginning and I think you should check them out before beginning.
With that being said I did not enjoy Lawson as much I did in Come to Daddy. I'm not sure if the possessive nature of character read different thus go wrong but yeah me no likes. What I did like is again his prioritization to discuss rules and safe words. I think there was some on page exploration that Honey stoke something in him but idk. On the otherhand Honey was a big ball of anxiety and being a sub helps provide a relief for. Her daydreaming and desire for anonymity really played up the nervous of her character but a bit confusing when her dialogue was framed as I'm not weak I'm a goddess. But lets be honest both can true.
Connie for me was the standout character and she really does her own book. She is playing chess and I want to know why.
CW/N: bdsm, flogging, spanking, dom/brat dynamic, bondage, humiliation, praise, and daddykink, staling, verbal abuse, child neglect, sense of loneliness
This is one of those stories that you know in your bones could be a 5 star but something holds it back. In this case, it was the drawn out writing. It was too long for what it was. The smut was 5 stars. The banter was 5 stars. The characters were 5 stars. The overly drawn out mental dialogue and excessive details to day to day life, it brought the story down. The solution? Skim the boring bits.
Tropes: Daddy/Brat, billionaire, grumpy/sunshine, Bdsm club, age gap?
As I said, this is worth reading. I almost just wish the series could be skimmed down to one book. It’s pace is slow and while that works in its favor in some cases like character building, sometimes it was redundant.
this is a good book, and I love the honest portrayal of the BDSM community and what the characters like and are into. Oftentimes I read books like this and there is this odd aura of shame surrounding it, which I cannot stand. I deeply appreciate that the author took the time show this. However, I was not happy that the book just ended. It just ends! I wish the author had set it up a bit more and gave us a bit more to look forward to in the next book.

I found out that ddlg isn't my vibe so i'm not gonna rating the book because the main theme of the book it's something that i actually not my thing. But here is my opinion: why the book sound like an insta-love trope, but they take SO MUCH TIME to actually do the THING? I feel like there were so many mismatches around the book that don't actually help with the development of the story or the characters.
3.5 stars 2/3 short books that can be read as standalones (3rd book isn’t out yet). Smut is the plot. Scenes were written better in this book than the first. Can be read without the first book- 1st book was pointless in my opinion. More tension and brooding here. I didn’t really like the characters. Not enough to really hook me. I wouldn’t have read this knowing what I know know. 🤷🏽♀️
This book is really well written and I love the plot and characters. I had to DNF due to my own triggers. This book is clear about the contents I just have some that are not normally in a list. So this is no fault to the book. I think if this is your jam you will truly love it. I would love to come back and try to read it again sometime when I might be able to handle it better.
Book is a good read. It has dom/daddy innit but it’s not a deep dive into the bdsm world. This is the softer sweeter side if you’re looking to dip your toes. It’s not their ending so be prepared to purchase another book. I didn’t realize it wasn’t a complete story. I will buy the next one but prefer to know in advance that it’s not a a standalone in a series.
Finish it but regretted spending time on it. The whole story line was good, but I just can’t with the Daddy/Little Girl kink. I know we’re not supposed to judge reading choices, but a man liking little girls is messed up.
Oh My Goodness! This was so good. Right amount of spice and intensely passionate. She was the right amount of submissive for Law. Great couple! Seriously worth the read.
A little too much internal dialogue but i enjoyed the parts with Honey and Law together. Looking forward to a sequel with more direct interaction between the two MCs.
- loved the beginning where he saved her from embarrassment - lot of spicy - happy ending but also makes it where you read the next book ( continue of a story) - decent book overall
This book was good. If you like BDSM, Daddy Doms, a sexy man with money (and morally gray) who also has a sketchy past and a FMC who’s sassy and also has a messed up past then you’ll like this book!
