Backroom Bully

Rate this book
Rebecca Life is full of difficult choices. Complicated, maddening, heart-wrenching choices. But nothing is as maddening or complicated as Joseph Ryker. He’s in my blood, under my skin, and as my addiction to this man grows—so do the reasons I should walk away. He bullies me. Pleases me. Wrecks me. Saves me. And as secrets bleed from the shadows, and blackmail threads our lives together, our relationship teeters on the edge of love and hate. But behind his dark, depraved desires, I’m beginning to see the man he truly is… And now, I’m faced with a choice. One that can save my bully—or devour him. Backroom Bully is the third and final book in the Savage Revenge Series from author Harper West. This series features a sexy, dominating anti-hero, a twisted romance, and plenty of panty melting heat.

Booooooooo

This didn’t need to be a series. The ending was a build up for a stupid plot twist. This series would have been way better in one book.

I'm not even sure why I made myself read all 3 books. I guess I wanted to see if anything would actually happen with these characters besides fight, threaten to go to HR, more threats of HR, fight again, more threats of going to HR. Rinse, repeat like 59 times. There wasn't even any chemistry with the characters.
I feel like some easy research could have made this story more believable as some things just didn't seem realistic...like court proceedings for example.  If any CEO acted like that he wouldn't be around for long. Rebecca was a joke. Joseph was just mean and I truly don't know what they actually saw in eachother. The ending wasn't even great. Waste of time. Could easily been one book but it still would have missed the mark. No sparks, no chemistry just fighting and empty threats. 2 stars is generous. Sorry.

Huh?

This series has been a very confusing story. I thought there was a hacker or someone impersonating her boss because of the complete opposite replies from one minute to the next. To be frank they aren't even together until the very very end of this book. The rest of the series is about her sister and her boss and their big secret. I think there was potential for a great story but the story needs some proofreading to get timeline and maybe a change of viewpoint to clear up some of the confusion when he has hot and cold attitudes. The hacker part just confused slot of this story. I liked it ok for the first book but the second book wasn't very interesting and this book while better is still confusing.

Tepid Ending; Poor Writing

I have never rage quit a book. I did this time. Between poor character growth and inaccurate word choice or redundant descriptions, this was the hardest short story I’ve ever read.

Learn how to connect plot points. Learn how to connect character emotions and thoughts with their actions. Learn how to transition between scenes without restoring to “it passed in a blur.” And, please, for the love of readers everywhere, get a thesaurus and find a better word for scornful laughter than “snickering.”

Backroom bully

I enjoyed it, I felt like Rebecca faltered, she'd didn't stand her ground. She had a few minutes where she gave Joseph ultimatums, then like an hour later she wants to know if he loves her or not. Or how one minute she was disowned by her family and then two days later she having dinner them. In all still nice read, but honestly this could've been just one big book.

3 Books Series

Savage Revenge Series books 1-3. I was getting a little tired of how Joseph's flip flop attitude changes reminds of someone Bi-polar.
Missing things that never were explained:
We never found out who was messing with the computers and rumors. Also Becca's co-worker said she was married and wore her wedding ring on a necklace around her neck. Otherwise a good read, thanks author

Holy smokes!!!

What a ride. This trilogy was phenomenal! I loved it all. There was so much excitement in these books. I can't believe how well the author wrote. It is definitely a wonderful enemy to lovers book. But the ending is all hea. Great job. Can't wait to read more by this author!

Um, took forever

There was such a great story here but you can almost skip Book 2 and most of Book 3. I never quit a series. Always giving the author time to put it all together but it was way to repetitive. The story never moved and then the last 10 pages of Book 3 everything happens. Really? Expected more.

Dull.

This was the worst one yet. The whole series was a disappointment. It was nothing like the beginning of the book set it out to be. Things happened out of scenes and we are supposed to roll with it. Plenty of things made no sense. Things would happen then we were just supposed to forget and move on with no actual resolution.

Bully

A bully is only a person whom has secrets and running from his past. Ash, got the answers and Joseph got the love he always denied himself,

Still deeply dysfunctional. I didn't like this as much as book 2- there were too many loose ends and things weren't wrapped up as well as they could have been.

hurray!

Hurray! That’s how I felt when I’d finished this book.

Not because it has a happy ever after or whatever but because Becca grew some balls and started standing up for herself, because people got what they deserved and because truths come out.

The Savage Revenge trilogy includes Boardroom Bully, Bedroom Bully, and Backroom Bully by Harper West. This trilogy is an office bully romance, and it definitely was a slow burn for me.

Rebecca "Becca" Loren got hired at TechGiants as an accountant that paid very well. On her first day, she is shocked and surprised that her new boss is the man who bullied her in high school and dated her sister Maggie, Joseph "Jojo" Ryker. Maggie and Josephs's relationship ended badly. Joseph wants revenge and plans to take it out on poor Becca. Joseph treats Becca like dirt. This poor girl can take some punches. Becca starts to have feelings for Joseph and allows him to degrade and torment her so she can get closer to him. Things begin to change after Becca is almost assaulted by her other male co-worker in the parking lot.

I liked finding out why Joseph hated Maggie and her sister and the reason behind it all didn't see that coming.

I was surprised by the twist in this trilogy, and I loved how Joseph and Becca's story ended!
