Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.
As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

Best cliffhanger in One Piece, set to the tune of a psychotic kids' song. Of course no one's remotely convinced that the Straw Hats - or even Sunny - might actually be gone, but even so, it was a pretty good scene, well got across the power and terror of an Emperor and her crew. This arc's been stretching but it ends well at least.
I hope Pekoms is okay.
(Also, based on some later events, I like to think that Katakuri could've kept going and ultimately killed Luffy... but chose not to because he had a glimpse of the future of just what would happen after that, and decided he's not dealing with that shit today, he's clocking out.)
OMG!! After so long! I always love One Piece. I can't wait for Wano's adventure. Eiichiro is just amazing! What an intense escape!
I also didn't expect what Doogtooth said. It's just amazing how great Luffy's influence is. I have always adored his character and to think he is always saved by all of the people he cherished. Even those that he unexpectedly touched. It's just wonderful.
Ridiculously good installment. I really like Katakuri, definitely making it to the hall of fame of OP's antagonists. Flampe can rot in hell, tho. Kind of wish we'd seen more of Amande, I like her character's design. Sanji, Reiju, Luffy and Chiffon gave me so much feels, especially Reiju in protective big-sister mode (love her so much).

Its the final war between Luffy and Katakuri and its epic and we get the latters backstory and the fight ends as you expect and he does make in time to his crew, also enter Germa 66 and they escape and Big Mom is on an island where they put the cake and feelings from her past come into being which is good and then the next part with the ending was weird. The straw hats escape but can't? Like idk what happened there. An okayish ending not the big fight we were expecting but then again this arc has been all weird and one of the weakest in One Piece, just rushing through it now to get to Reverie next volume.
i bet luffy and katakuri's fight is insane in the anime and i can't wait to watch it one day. dang that cliffhanger at the end is crazy. like even knowing that they're gonna be okay i still worried about their safety
A UERJ me fez ler aquela bomba de livro do muleque listrado que é problemático mas vô compartilhar pra vcs um dos ápices aqui do manifesto comunista II
“I’m the man.. who will be king of the pirates!!!” “You’re looking quite far.. into the future!!!” The Luffy and Katakuri fight is my all time favorite
Volume 89: Chapter 890-900 Saga 9: Whole Cake Island Arc 29: Whole Cake Island Arc 30: Reverie Arc
Big Mom is getting up on Sunny. Jinbe managed to push her off. Jinbe, Brook, Nami and Chopper fight against Big Mom. Fire Tank Pirates arrived with the wedding cake. Big Mom and Perospero's fleets follow Fire Tank Pirates while Smoothie and her fleets follow Straw Hat Pirates.
Luffy fights against Katakuri become more intense. Suddenly, Luffy lose his focus and being stabbed at his stomach. The spoiled brat, Flampe, used his silent needle to attack Luffy. After knowing the truth, Katakuri stabbed himself. Luffy and Katakuri then used their Conqueror's Haki to knock out the hindrance.
Luffy used his new form, Gear 4: Snake Man. Luffy is faster than ever and also he unlocks Advance Observation Haki that let him to see a glimpse of the future. He fights toe-to-toe with Katakuri for several hours. Finally, Katakuri is fallen and admit defeat.
Pekoms help Luffy to escape from the Mirroworld. They come out at Cacao Island but the island was already swarmed with Big Mom Pirates. Sanji take Luffy and head to Sunny. Germa 66 arrived to help Sanji. Straw Hat Pirates was still surrounded but later Sun Pirates comes to help.
I don't love the Luffy/Katakuri fight as much as everyone else but what really makes this volume for me are all the Luffy/Sanji interactions, particularly: "Why is he just listing off all your best qualities?"
Best New World arc so far. Second best arc overall. I love Whole Cake Island. (Despite the absence of God Usopp) I think it is the most unique arc in the series. It has tons of memorable moments and a great final fight. Sanjis backstory was devastating and I loved how it was connected to the presence with Luffy. Luffy is the best in this arc. The existence of this arc alone proves what a great captain Luffy is and what he does in this arc just tops it all off. But I have to say the real MVPs were Brook and Jinbei. Big Moms past, her devil fruit and her dreams were all very interesting, although I don’t like her character design at all. I loved the Mafia and the heist vibes and the great escape was a nice ending. This arc proved the true power of the emperors of the sea so the next island wont get any easier.
