I belonged in exotic locations, making a life out of my photography. Lazy days under a high sun in a wine haze, maybe joined by a sexy pool boy. But here I am, engaged and back in Newport Beach where I grew up. I only needed a few weeks, and everything would fall perfectly into place. If I could pull it all off unscathed.
What I didn’t expect was for my fiancé to bring his twin sons along for the ride. Three Greek Gods and one dreamy beach house. What could go wrong?
Judas
I’m the ‘bad’ twin. There’s always one, right? I’m okay with that though, cuz I’m also the one who always gets invited to the party. This move is a fresh start. My chance to explore the taboo part of me that wanted more than friendship with my best friend, Leo.
I’ll admit, I loved attention from both men and women. My Greek bloodline puffing out my chest, a beacon on the beach. I could handle beach life easily.
Then I met Dad’s fiancée. A total stunner.
But damn if it wasn’t a nightmare trying to keep my hands off her.
Jeno
Dad already met someone, just a year after mom left. One brief, elated moment when I received my acceptance letter from UCLA. The next day we packed up for Southern California. A summer job was the only way I could tolerate this obnoxious town. I preferred dusty bookstores and quiet coffee shops.
The day I met Alyssa, that all changed. Left spluttering and speechless. One problem: she was engaged to my father.
How was I supposed to sleep in the same house with a woman I barely knew but couldn’t stop thinking about?

This was a TikTok find, and it's a hard DNF @ 16%.
I tried, I really did. I wanted to give this book a chance to get better, but I can't spend another minute reading this.
Simply put, this book was not ready for publication. It needs a substantive edit, top to bottom, inside out.
Although this is labeled #1 in a series, it felt like we're missing a lot of backstory here. It's as if the first several chapters of this book are missing. We're dropped in the middle of these peoples' lives with no preamble. There's zero story structure, and the characters are the barest sketch of a person, save one uninteresting trait each--she loves sex, he's the stereotypical "bad boy," he's the studious one. Yawn.
The exceptionally short chapters were jarring; you never got to settle into a scene (most of which didn't serve the story anyway) before you're thrown into the next POV. The overwhelming use of "I"-first sentences made the narrative repetitive and sluggish. There's no logical flow to the story; it feels like words and ideas just thrown at a page. It was all very disjointed.
But perhaps the biggest strike to this book is the overwhelming amount of errors. There were so many tense issues as well as grammatical, continuity, and punctuation errors. This book honestly felt like a first draft instead of a finished product. Not to mention the book was full of UK spellings when the book takes place in the US, and from their bio, I assume the author is American. Where was the editor here? Where were the beta readers?
Clearly, this book was a miss for me, and I cannot recommend it to other readers.
What the hell did I just read? Like another reviewer this was a TikTok find and I regret every minute I wasted reading this. I kept hoping it would get better but it never did. Goes to show you cool TikTok videos mean nothing when it comes to the actual book.
I seriously don't know what the point of this story was. You have Alyssa, a sex addict who blows through men as part of some "plan" the readers aren't clued in about. In order to take over her parent's business, she has to be married. What? Ya sure. OK. So she picks an abusive asshole and gets engaged in two seconds, knowing next to nothing about him. She didn't even know how old his kids were.
And the "kids"? They're 19. Twins. Boys. And they both want to have sex with her. Along with their dad. Ew. I get the twin trope can be hot but this is gross.
Jeno? A cardboard whistler blower who tattles on his twin to daddy. Served Z.E.R.O. purpose to this story other than being another idiot in love with Alyssa for no good reason.
Judas? The so called "bad boy" of the story because he has tattoos and rides a bike and pulls on her stupid nipple ring while she's standing naked in the kitchen. Wow. So bad. You know what is bad? Leading your best friend Leo on while you dabble in bisexuality and then kick Leo to the curb so you can screw your stepmom and make her call you daddy. Yup. The 19 year old is pretending to be a dom and makes the 30 something year old step mom call him daddy and then calls her pukey names like Little Bird.
And Kostas the dad? Another cardboard cutout of an alcoholic bad guy to further the crappy ass plot. Other than being a reason for Alyssa to meet Judas and then being the bad guy of the story, Kostas does absolutely nothing.
No one in this story is likable except Leo and Juniper, the twin's sidekicks. The main characters are wooden and contrived and there is zero chemistry or believability.
So now for the grammar and technical side. Typos, bad sentence structure, no continuity within a scene let alone the whole story, pacing was terrible. Spot on about the English/American confusion. Was that a mistake or the author trying to make the story sound smarter than it was?
Did this person hire an editor? Did anyone look at it before they hit publish? Was this something thrown together in a month for NaNoWriMo and slapped up on Amazon to make a quick buck? I got a refund. That's how terrible this was. I want to love and support self pubbed authors but crap like this is what gives self pubbed authors a bad name. There are some fantastic authors out there. This author is N.O.T. one of them. Don't waste your money or your time because you can only get one of them back.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Like others I found this thru TT. The author seemed funny and made some cool videos so I gave it a chance. Huge mistake. If this wasn't in KU I would have returned it. Plot was terrible. Characters were terrible. The writing was atrocious. Bad grammar, typos, telling instead of showing. There isn't a single reason to care about anyone in this book.
The worst part for me is how the author has handled criticism. Since this book was released she's made a lot of TTs complaining about being people being triggered and that's why they didn't like it. No, I didn't like it because it was horrible writing and bad execution. She said her style is blunt. You can be blunt and good. There is a time and place for blunt, fast paced writing. This is blunt and bad, lacking details and connection and coherency. Maybe learn the rules of the English language before you try to make yourself look edgy by breaking them.
Don't waste your time or money supporting such an unprofessional author wannabe.
What complete trash! I feel sorry for all of the reviewers praising this load of crap. Did they get some magical version that wasn't uploaded to KU? I don't understand why all of them are licking this author's ass and claiming it is the greatest thing ever. The writing is god awful. The plot is beyond stupid. And the author herself? What a joke. Go check out TikTok if you don't believe me. She is so rude to readers and reviewers. If you don't sing her praises then she rips you to shreds. The next LJ Shen wanna be except she has no where near the level of fame Shen does. Take it from me and the honest reviewers and don't give her your time of day or your hard earned money.
I don't normally review books but I had to for this because of how terrible this book was. I couldn't even finish. It was a HARD DNF at the 25% mark for me. I don't know how I made it that far.
And I have to agree with the other reviewers who have addressed the author's appalling behavior. You expect people to invest their time and their money into your product and when they are dissatisfied because YOU did not provide a decent story, you turn around and blast them all on social media? I don't know how anyone could want to support you after that. You have no class and I feel sorry for you that you are clearly lacking in maturity as well as any talent what so ever.
If it wasn’t for work this weekend, I would have devoured this book in one sitting. There were so many webs being weaved throughout that I couldn’t stop reading. Following three POVs, there was always someone plotting or getting smutty that I couldn’t stop thinking about where this story might end.
Alyssa can never settle. After three marriages, she could never find anyone that compared to her first husband. She wants to experience the world and everything it has to offer and for someone to fly beside her with those same morals in life.
Following three POVs was a lot of fun, it kept me entertained especially when they each had their own relationships to work out. I honestly could never figure out Alyssa’s motive with her new fiancé and I love that it kept me guessing. Jeno is the goody sweet boy while Judas is the ultimate bad boy and they were both in for a treat when they met their new soon to be stepmom. The smut was so good .. The kitchen scene (which was just a tease, was still freakin 'hot) , the beach scene had me begging for more and the couch scene was exhilarating… those are just brimming on the surface of my brain and there was more! 👀 The only downsides I had were the editing (which wasn’t too bad just slowed my reading down a bit because my stupid brain kept picking them out) and the ending felt a little rushed. Overall I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait to read more from this author.
⚠️ Spoilers ⚠️ Taboo romance, cougar trope ( my new fav), MM and MF scenes, kink, piercings, TW for abuse.
I really enjoyed this book. If you're looking for a dark, spicy read with some taboo elements (age gap/cougar, cheating, some bdsm), this is definitely the book for you!
In addition to the spice, the book is well-written. The plot is intriguing, the pacing is great, and the characters come alive on the page. I especially loved not knowing all of Alyssa's motivations and plans until later in the book; it kept me turning pages without frustrating or disappointing me. Often romances portray idealized relationships, but this book is a great exception, where all of the relationships (romantic, family, and friends) seem very realistic to me.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a dark, spicy read, as long as the trigger warnings aren't applicable to you.
I received a free Advanced Review Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Twice as Twisted is seductive and sinful. From the passionate words the author weaves to the fascinating characters, this story will capture both your mind and imagination and leave you wanting more.
The story as a whole is well written. I was intrigued by Alyssa. A huge part of me wished I was as confident as she is. Truly one of my favorite characters. The men….dreamy and totally wicked!
I truly enjoyed this book! I was captivated from beginning to end. This exciting and consuming book is a must read! If you’re looking for something different that will tantalize your senses, this book is for you. I give it 5 stars.
This is the first book I've read by the Savvy Rose. It is a dark and twisted romance that has a few triggers so if you don't like triggers then this book isn't for you.
It started a bit slow but it did deliver a spicy story between Alyssa an her younger man. Alyssa is a strong woman that just have been with the wrong abusing men and when she finally gets a chance to be treated right it gets a bit complicated but damn that is when the spice meets some hotness.
A with a cast of flawed characters who struggle with insecurities and temptations, it seemed authentic, relatable. Alyssa's journey to finding her version of freedom was utterly satisfying.
