When a terrible illness hits her people and puts her older brother in bed, Sorcha Campbell is forced to become the lady of the Campbell clan. The lass is very responsible, and she is trying to control things, sometimes more than needed, but none of her efforts seem to be appreciated by the clan elders. Sorcha serves as a scapegoat in this tragedy, and to make things worse, her young sister gets terribly ill!
The only one who can help her is Malcolm, one of the best warriors of the clan who seems to be immune to the disease. The scary-looking Highlander will take the girl to a hidden healing place where she recovers, winning Sorcha’s trust. The lass is desperately trying to find a solution, even if everyone tells her that they are cursed and that only God can save them. And yet, Sorcha can not accept that their fate is entirely in the hands of God.
After a while, a woman shows up and explains to her that they are indeed cursed; Sorcha must rule the Dunscaith castle, the only place where a woman can rule, or she must find a husband to rule the Campbell castle. She has 17 days until the next full moon when she will not be able to lift the curse. The worst part? She must marry a man who is born “a King, a Warrior, and a Wolf Killer,” the lady says.
No man is born with all of those traits, so Sorcha thinks that she has no chance. However, Malcolm used to work for such a man; Laird Fraser has always been known as a fierce warrior, and he earned the nickname of “wolf-bane” when he slew a wolf as a young boy! His branch of nobility extends from the royal bloodline, so Sorcha and Malcolm will begin on a journey to find the man who they believe can save the clan.
On their journey, they will find that those they thought as friends might not mean well, and they will also find unexpected allies. As the two companions travel together, they will begin to develop feelings for each other, but they both know they could never be a couple. However, when they get into deadly danger, the least Malcolm feels he can do, is risk his life to save the lass, who is not only the lady of his clan but who has also captured his heart…
I loved this thrilling story and Sorcha rocks! She and Malcolm went through a lot to help their clan. given the curse that was upon them. This well written story draws you in and keeps you glued to the pages to see how it will end! I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
I did enjoy this book but found the lack of strong men frustrating. Dand should have been laird but can’t manage it despite the peril the whole family are in. Fergus is oblivious to what is happening until the end. I thought the whole point of Moire marrying Fergus was to have a strong ally for the Campbell’s! However, they all redeem themselves by the end of the book. I like Malcolm’s story and who he turns out to be. Sorcha is a strong resilient woman surrounded by weak men who think they know better! Overall, a good story.
This was the final story of the Legend of the Campbell Clan. It was the story of Lady Sorcha Campbell and Marcus Fraser. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It had everything from the plague to clan wars, deception and intrigue. It was an enjoyable read, and I enjoyed it even more than the first two books in this series.
I enjoyed this story but I think I would give it 4.5 stars. The main characters of Lady Sorcha and Malcolm were intriguing. They both were strong willed and wanting to do what is right for others. I was somewhat disheartened that Laird Fergus didn’t do more to help the Campbell clan. Overall it was a very good story with some twists and turns that were quite unexpected.
Wow this Campbell family sure has been through some ordeals. They can’t seem catch a brake every since their parents died. The curse that Sorcha brought on her clan…did she really or is it just a coincidence? And Marcus the poor guy had it rough has well and the ending.
I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Sorcha was made clan leader when her brother the laird took sick from the plague. A mysterious man comes to the village when she goes there to see how her clan people were doing after also falling sick. He protects her from the angry clan members and sees her back to the castle. This is where their story begins.
I was heartbroken for Marcus losing his father. What a Wonderful Wonderful Story. I just loved loved loved this story and characters. I can’t wait to read the next book. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊😊
I have loved each and everyone book in this series. I love Highlanders stories and there are some of my favorites. It was exciting enough to keep me up late and sweet enough to make me all warm inside. Romantic with be x rated. Can't wait to start the next book.
This is a really good series I'm fixing to be on #4I'm not gonna leave any spoiler alerts or anything like that I just love the way the right or right and continues just the story through each 1.
I love the twist of irony of this well told story! Sorcha had way too much to deal with at such a young age, but everything worked out divine for her in the end.
