About the author

Toronto writer Kathleen Gauer's published works include illustrated children's books, High in the Sky, For No Reason, The Wish Carvers, and Bathtime Fun! as well as poetry, and magazine and newspaper articles. Her books have been acquired in libraries across Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Kathleen worked as a contributing associate editor for a Toronto community focus magazine for 15 years, and as an arts columnist for the Etobicoke Guardian newspaper. She retired as an Educational Assistant in Special Education after working with the Toronto District School Board for 29 years. When not writing or reading, Kathleen enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, yoga, hiking, golf, knitting, world travel, and choral singing. She also volunteers with IBBY Canada's Reading with Newcomer Children program in Toronto and does author visits and story time programs in local schools and libraries.

My kids just loved these endearing illustrations! My kids absolutely love bath time and playing in the tub. This book was so sweet with the idea that kiddos go on adventures while they're bathing! Oh the places their minds can take them! Definitely a must read for any kiddos who love bath time. The activities at the end make the book extra special.

Oh, I love this book so much! It is seriously, amazing! The lyrical text, and clever, superb rhyming, will roll off of your tongue, as you read it. The painted illustrations are gorgeous, with detailed surprises throughout.

Love how the book starts out with a little toy boat, in an ordinary bathtub, and then it goes on an awesome adventure! The children in the book are diverse, as they meet various animals and situations. This fun story uses imagination so well, and I had to read it again, to take it all in!

This special, heartwarming book, will inspire kids to dream big, and to use their imaginations, and I bet they will want to take a bath! 😊Also, love the activities in the back pages. Treat a child, or yourself, to this special, engaging, and delightful book! ❤️

I just read Kathleen Gauer's latest book: "Bathtime Fun!" and it's absolutely amazing! I loved everything about it; the imaginary places the main character travels to from his/her bathtub, the illustrations, the rhyme pattern which flows so naturally and never sounds forced, everything! My favorite part was the one where the hippo got stuck in the mud and the child rescued it with his tugboat. All in his imagination, of course! I'm sure this book will make every child who reads it eager to take a bath. Great job, Kathleen!

Kathleen Gauer continues to capture the imaginations of children. When you read this rhyming story to a child, expect to fill your bathtub! One bath toy takes them away on an adventure of discovery and exploration. Without giving away too many spoilers, I particularly enjoyed the spot where only children know. Always an educational component, the author includes storytime fun activities at the back of the book. Sari Richter’s illustrations are second to none and fully captivate anyone who picks up this book. I'm adding 'Bathtime Fun' to my collection for my future grandchildren!

My little one loved it – the beautiful illustrations are full of hidden bathtime treasures, an exciting bathtime adventure, and we loved how it rhymed!
Bathtime Fun was a journey for the imagination!  I loved the diversity – the children, the animals, and the places you will go! We read it again just to find more inspiration.  What I love about Kathleen’s books are the activities at the back to engage the reader even more, the diversity of the characters, and the creative illustrations!

Both children and adults will love this adorable picture book full of bright and colourful illustrations. Written in rhyme, this story will definitely trigger a child's imagination and make bathtime fun. One special bath toy is the star of exciting adventures where many interesting animals are introduced. As a bonus, an engaging "What Am I?" activity is also included at the back of the book.

This is a nice story book that can be introduced to little kiddos who are still scared to take a bath. Because once they get into the bathtub, then starts the journey of imagination which every little kid would love. The surf waves, nice island, rock caves and what not. The illustrations explain it all ! The rhythmic style of the writing is so much fun to read!

Bathtime Fun is bursting with imagination! It is a beautifully written rhyming book full of colorful and fun explorative illustrations. Any child reading this book can let their imagination run wild and all it took was one tugboat and a couple of toys, to take a boy on many adventures, making his bath time such fun. I loved the candy trees and the hippo that got saved but you will have to read the book to find out the rest. It is a great read for all children but especially for those who hate getting into the bath but they should know that when they do get in, wonderful things can happen!

This lovely story is chock-full of glorious imagery that could have come straight from a child's imagination; so much to discover throughout this book as bathtime becomes an adventure to far off places with a tug boat. My girls love this book!

BATHTIME FUN is a fun Children's Book that both parents and young kids will adore.

The story is written in rhyme which allows the narrative to flow.

Children who may have been hesitant to have a bath or who start out afraid of the water, will see bath time as a time for fun during which they can allow their imagination to soar.

When I read this book to my daughter, she immediately immersed herself in a world of make believe, while floating around in a tub full of bubbles.
