Wonderful read, great characters and a storyline that holds you captivated
Renato is the enforcer for the Calabresi family a job for which he is well suited, he enjoys ensuring that he has all the tools to torture answers out of those that cross him or his family and he will “Do whatever it takes”? “For as long as it takes”?
When he had a one-night stand with a dancer that had captured his attention one night she had stolen $100,000 from a bag and he had been searching for her since. Imagine his surprise when he spotted her in a club in his home town, when he tried to face her, she had once again escaped him.
Renato was furious and had discovered where Sonya was living and when he and his bouncers had kicked in her door had discovered her and her friend Brilynn, then in another room a baby whose likeness to himself was unmistakable. The timing as well led him to believe that there was a possibility that RJ may in fact have come from their one night together over a year ago.
As you discover the reason for Sonya having stolen the cash from Renato on that fateful night it had not even been for her, not it had been to help pay for her mothers’ treatments. To pay for her son’s upkeep and to keep a rook over their head and food in their stomachs she had continued to dance and to do any other jobs that would help them all.
As the couple live together under the roof of the Calabresi’s his parents immediately take to both baby RJ and his mother Sonya, she is amazed with the kindness she is shown by both of his parents and bothers and their wives.
The threats to the Calabresi family are a constant and they have learned to deal with the precautions, however to new comers it was daunting and take Sonya time and several attempts on her life for her to appreciate how difficult Renato’s position in the company was.
However, where his family is concerned there is nothing, he will not do to ensure that they are kept safe, there is nothing and no one that will come between him and his sworn duty.
There are plenty of ups and downs during this story and as both Sonya and Renato are determined and stubborn characters it makes for a tremendously interesting read and I guarantee that you will be left looking forward to future books in the calabrese Mafia series.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

This is the 3rd book in this series, and this is Renato and Sonya’s journey. Renato is the ruthless enforcer for the Calabresi mafia family, and Sonya is a dancer. These two have a 1-night stand, and Sonya steals a vast sum of money from him. When Renato comes close to finding Sonya again, she slips through his fingers. Renato is furious, and tracks down her address, where he and his men break down her door, to find her and her friend inside, and a surprise in another room. This is a well written fast paced story, which is action packed, dark, raw, gritty, and intriguing, with secrets, twists, family, friendships, emotions, and love, which leads to a steamy and compelling page turner.

Whoa, hang on for dear life because this is one wild ride of a story. It never lets up and gives you all of the emotions along with it. L.K. does not shy away from the nitty gritty of mafia life. I love it. The older I get, the darker I like stories. And even though I would not consider this the darkest I have read it has a lot of dark elements. Oh yeah! Bring it on! The more I read them, the more I like the secret baby as long as it is not a secret for a long time in the story. The hate love bantering back and forth between Renata and Sonya is just wild and so engrossing. I love this family and cannot wait for the remaining stories.

The beginning of this story doesn’t start well for her because she had a baby and never told Renalto who is a womanizer and he makes his issues known but his dad and mom force the issue of marriage to keep her and their grandson safe and it was so much fun watching these two fall back in love he is a very protective of his family and now we wait for his next brothers turn with Cora, this series is so good.

Although this is the third book in the interconnected Calabresi Italian Mafia series, I have only read books 2 & 3 and they do read like standalone books. What may have started as a one night stand between Renato and Sonya, became so much more. These characters are well developed and compelling, the story fast paced, intense, action packed, full of sizzle, steam, some twists, surprises, and so much more.

fantastic read!!
Loved this book. It had all of the elements of a Godfather type of story! This the perfect of a modern romance with old world charm. These brothers love fiercely. These stories make me yearn for a real life version. Renato is so fierce and deadly, it makes me imagine falling for him must be the scariest thing on the planet. These guys are serious about their family. Family first and always!!

This is a fast paced, mafia read with all the ups and downs that usually go with that. This is a complicated and compelling story with twists, betrayal, hurt and a vendetta. A great job. I thoroughly enjoyed the series.
