This is Seabury - where everyone knows everyone, the average tourist hasn't got a clue it even exists, and that's just how the locals like it!
Kate Hardy’s world seems to be making some kind of sense at last. The Sardine’s finally safe from her idiotic ex, things seem to be going well with Mike (though she’s pretty sure she’s going to mess that up at any moment), and she’s looking forward to celebrating Christmas with the important people in her life. People she… loves?
As much as she’s looking forward to the big day, Kate can’t help the niggling worries that keep giving her a nudge in the ribs…
Mike’s buying her beloved lighthouse and is due to get the keys any day now. Kate just wishes she could muster the courage to ask him what his plans are for the old place – instead of changing the subject every time he brings it up.
And then there’s Bernard – who’s come all the way from Canada. He’s loitering very close to Seabury and is promising to wreak yuletide havoc. The Met office are pretty sure he’s due to make landfall on Christmas day – and according to them, this storm’s going to be a doozy.
As everyone in town starts to batten down the hatches, Kate does her best to save Christmas . . . with a little bit of help from her friends!
Beth Rain has always wanted to be a writer and has been penning adventures for characters ever since she learned out to stare into the middle-distance and daydream.
She currently lives in the (sometimes) sunny South West, and it is a dream come true to spend her days hanging out with Bob – her trusty laptop – and scoffing crisps and chocolate while dreaming up swoony love stories for all her imaginary friends.
Join Beth in Seabury if you fancy dipping your toes in the waves, head to Little Bamton for some quintessential English village action, or take a trip down the river to Upper Bamton if standalones involving a spot of wine and wool are your thing!
Beth’s writing will always deliver on the happy-ever-afters.
Can’t think of a better place to spend Christmas than Seabury, this cosy community and welcoming locals made me want to join them. It’s Christmas Eve and Storm Bernard is starting to make its presence felt, is Christmas going to be spoilt, the community pull together to make it a Christmas no one will forget. Love the setting and characters in this series.
Oh wow, another fantastic book by the lovely Beth Rain. It was so so good to revisit Seabury, I love it so much. Christmas time is one of my favourite times of year and Seabury is a perfect place to spend it.
The community feel in this book is magical, everyone is so accepting and through all the tricky bits everyone helps one another. It gives you a warm glow reading it. This is the brilliant writing skills of Beth, she manages, through her words, to make you feel like you're part of the community, you know everyone by name and feel everything all the characters feel. I felt like part of the family of Seabury again.
The Christmas Dinner and the explanations was so funny and heartwarming. I loved this book.
This book kept me on my toes, there was so much happening in seabury . Kate going to meet Charlie at the allotments, Kate taking the sandbags on ther trailer . Ethel gers a surprise from Charlie then Bernard causes a storm of all storms and Leonard turns up with his part cooked turkey and his 2 holel guests. The Christmas eve of all Christmas eves begins with 2 + Stanley the bear dog & runs into about 20 all drinking wine and eventually eating a loverly turkey dinner on the stroke of midnight. Its a Christmas none of them will ever forget but will treasure for ever as a very memorable day & night. Well written beth, looking forward to the next book.
With a quaint seaside town and some amazing characters and new people where you feel like you know them already for a long time, it is an enjoyable and heart-warming story to read.
Kate Hardy is feeling content with her life as she has removed her troublesome ex and is in a happy relationship with Mike. Despite her excitement for Christmas celebrations with loved ones, she is anxious about Mike purchasing the lighthouse she loves and the upcoming storm, Storm Bernard. As the town prepares for the severe storm on Christmas day, Kate works with her friends to save Christmas and the locals who have gathered in The Sardine.
Thank for another round of Seabury and their lovely people, especially Stanley.. And coincidentally it's Christmas. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this festive season. Merry Christmas
Truly, madly love this authors wonderful sweet reads. I can lose myself in her writing for ages. The stories flow and her characters are so engaging. How I wish you could step inside a book. Can't wait to read what Beth Rain writes next.
A short story, in the sea bury series. Read them all. Enjoyed this feel good story, about Kate her little Cafe and her lovely big bear of a dog Stanley. Loved it!
Read the three books in just a few days as I couldn't wait to know what would happen. My favourite character is Stanley, of course. Well written, a perfect little romantic escape.
Loved Christmas in Seabury, with Kate and Mike. Everyone gets together as storm Bernard hits the town and the village gets together to help each other.
Loved being back in Seabury - with familiar faces, The Sardine and of course Stanley. The romance moves on a little bit and we leave the book with a happy event and more to look forward too.
