My fate was sealed the first time I met the gorgeous, fun, and older Ollie Hale. Though forbidden, he captivated me, and for years, I couldn’t let him go.
I never thought I’d have him, but then… an unexpected kiss and the start of something new. My heart aches for his love while my mind tells me to run.
I’ve seen this story before, and it doesn’t end well. He’s a damaged man unable to give me more, and I’m a woman who wants it all. I’ve dreamed of my happily ever after, but I’m terrified we’re heading toward a tragic ending.
Now that I know what it’s like to be with him, I won’t be able to survive without his strength, despite the downward spiral catapulting us toward our inevitable fate.
I’m just praying it doesn’t break me.
And if I break, was he worth it?
***Intended for readers 18+ due to mature content ***Book 3 in The Beautiful Souls Collection. Captivated Souls can be read as a standalone. However, it's highly suggested to read the books in The Beautiful Souls Collection in order for the best reader experience.
Ellie Wade resides in southwest Michigan with her husband, three young children, and two dogs. She has a Master’s degree in education from Eastern Michigan University and is a huge University of Michigan sports fan. She loves the beauty of her home state, especially the lakes and the gorgeous autumn weather. When she is not writing, you will find her reading, snuggled up with her kids, or spending time with family and friends. She loves traveling and exploring new places with her family.
Thank you so much Ellie for allowing me the pleasure of reading an advanced copy!
I am so in love with this world. Just when I think Ellie can’t possibly top her previous book, she surprises me with this amazing gem! I absolutely devoured this book, I just couldn’t put it down. I don’t want to give anything away, but please do yourself a favor and read this series! You definitely won’t regret it!
Each book in this collection can be read as a stand-alone and features new main characters with overlapping secondary casting. Once you’ve read one, you’ll want to read the whole shebang!
Another winner to add to the Beautiful Souls Collection. Three’s the charm for the love story between Oliver (Ollie) and Quinn. For years these two have danced around each other for reasons that may sound reasonable, but when love is involved, Cupid’s not giving up with an arrow that won’t miss its mark.
Tears, fears and cheers! A book to affirm the belief that love conquers all! An emotional, beautiful love story full of heart, heat and healing with a swoon-worthy Happily-Ever-After.
Addiction is real. But so is love. This is the third in the series and it's a good and engaging story. Quinn and Ollie have always wanted to be with each other. But circumstances prevented it. Is now the time? Or will something ruin what could be the best thing for them both. Quick and easy read.
For the first time ever I gave Ellie stars..... BUT it was because the subject matter regrading Leo and Ollie was a trigger for me. I di like the bk and I also loved Quinn and Ollie together
Ellie Wade has a way of creating characters who are multi faceted and realistic. Ollie and Quinn were brought together as friends of Alma and Leo. Wherever Leo went, Ollie was present. Where Alma went, Quinn went. And though they became friends, there was always something deeper, but it just wasn’t the time to explore it. Years later, after Leo had passed on and Alma was with Amos, Ollie and Quinn were still thrown together during family get togethers. Suddenly these hidden feelings weren’t below the surface any longer. I commend Quinn for taking charge of going after what she wanted. And i admire Ollie for his commitment to helping people after they tried to turn their lives around after their downward spiral into drugs. But nothing worthwhile has ever been easy, so life interfered and threw a wrench in the works. But love is stronger than any other emotion, and it will win if two people put in the work. This story was funny, it was captivating and it was beautiful. It’s a must read for anyone who loves love.
This can be read as a standalone but it does have major spoilers for the first two books (as does this review).
I really enjoyed this book. Of course Quinn was introduced in Bared Souls as Alma’s roommate and bestie. And I was so happy to see the hero was Ollie. He intrigued me as soon as I met him as Leo’s sponsor. The timeline overlaps with book two, after Leo is gone and Alma slowly begins to move on. We quickly learn the attraction between Ollie and Quinn has always been there but timing is everything. Ellie flawlessly gives us little chapters glimpses into the past starting back to shortly after Ollie and Leo (and subsequently Quinn) met. Highlighting the attraction from afar on both ends. Ollie takes his job as a sponsor very seriously and he was (and still is) reluctant to let a potential relationship come between his responsibilities as a sponsor. But now, years after they met, some things have changed and Ollie finally is allowing himself more. You’ll have to read the rest to get the full story but I so hope you do.
I have been intrigued with Ollie since we met him and having him paired up with Quinn was utterly everything. As these are side characters from Alma’s stories, seeing how everything that had happened within their circle was raw and heartbreaking. But that sizzle between these two is intense no matter how much Ollie fights it. He wants to be that man that can be there for everyone even at the cost of his own personal life. But Quinn lit a fire under him and it was such a beautiful explosion. There is a lot that happens throughout this story as it includes the past and it is so raw. Wade has created a stunning series with these books and they need to be read.
This book is absolutely amazing!! Ellie Wade has such a way with bringing all the feelings and this story has ALL. THE. FEELS! I was obsessed with Ollie when we met him in Alma's stories and was so happy to finally get his story. Every time I read this, I got sucked in. I was so mad that life kept getting in the way from me finishing this book. Make sure you have plenty of time so you can read it all in one sitting because you aren't going to want to stop. I can't wait for the next one in this series! (5 stars)
Oh I really love Ollie and Quinn 🥺 they're so adorable.
First, I love that we got a little more of Leo and Alma being together. That healed my broken heart from the first book. (If you haven't read the first two book, idk what you're doing here then)
This was such a sweet story. Ollie never confronted his issues, he just found a way to cope with them and distract himself from them. Which leads him to be troubled and push Quinn away at some point. But she fought for them. She knew what they could be. And that epilogue of the kids 😭😭 oh my heart.
Ollie and Quinn knew each other for years but because of their connection to Leo it never seemed like a right time to do anything. Quinn finally got passed the fear that Ollie would have a relapse and told him how she felt. Things were going good until a fear of letting down one of his NA that he pulls back and can't move forward. When he comes to realize that with Quinn by his side that he can face whatever the future holds. I did kind of wish that we would have got an insight as to what was the catalyst to Leo falling back but I guess we will never know.
Without sounding cliche, I am always so captivated by Ellie’s books. She brings the characters to life in such a way that I am always intrigued by their lives past each book. That’s why I was so excited to delve deeper into the lives of Quinn and Ollie.
I was certainly not disappointed. Watching Quinn work toward her own happiness is anything that you would want for your own best friend. Definitely a must read!
I read this right after Alma’s duet and it provided additional closure and happiness for some beloved characters in the series. I love Quinn and Ollie and though none of the books in this series have the depth and angst you’d expect with such heavy subject matter- you still find yourself absorbed in their world and wanting to know how it all works out.
Friends to Lovers ❤️ Trouble past 😩 Talk of Addiction 💊
I fell in love with Quinn from book 1. When she had her fling with A I knew that wasn’t it. Ollie is perfect for her.
I love when side characters get their own story. Ellie has done an amazing job at bringing this story to life and connecting it with the past stories.
I love that we’ve been able to keep up with Alma and Lovie while learning about Quinn and her love story. It was absolutely beautiful with minor heartbreak. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from book one. This was a beautiful story about fighting your demons and coming out and realizing you deserve more than what you’re allowing yourself. Ollie is amazing character and his self awareness is something that I think all people strive for.
Can be read as a standalone but better if read with series. This is 3 of 6
Once again, this author did NOT disappoint! I was so excited to read Quinn’s story and I’m so glad she ended up with Ollie. I never read this fast but this series has quickly become one of my new favorites❤️
I had the pleasure of reading this book a little earlier than most and what can I say….. amazing, another fantastic story, beautifuly written and so captivating, loved it
I love that the idea of this relationship was just barely hinted at in the last book and we didn't really see it coming. Well written, like the rest, and a nice quick read.
I loved this story so much! This had all the classic Ellie Wade that I have come to love but with fewer tears. I sob reading her books and this one only got me once lol. We met Quinn all the way back in Bared Souls and I was always wanting more of her story. Fast forward 8 years and we are with Quinn who is successful and dating a great guy, everything is great except for one thing. He isn't Ollie. Ollie has been off limits for the past 8 years beaches was Leo's NA sponsor but the heart wants what it wants. Quinn has been patient and now she I willing to sacrifice for love. Ollie is closed off from relationships due to his experience with his fellow NA clients but he is no match for Quinn. She comes in like a storm and is putting it all on the line for them. This story was fun and frustrating and whitty. I am so thankful that we got to see what happens when you are willing to open yourself up to love despite your reservations about the future. Quinn is who we should all strive to be a little bit more like.
yet to read book 1 or 2!??!?! Captivated Souls - book 3 (read in the 1st spot) Fated Souls - book 4 (read it in the 3rd spot) Entwined Souls - book 6 (reading in the 2nd spot) i read these all out of order, because they were not available in the order they have be read in. LOL!! i am reading book 5 now. so silly. i think book 1 is like a 6 month wait?? are you kidding me ...this is through my local library leaning program. ... so silly. wouldn't u think that they would allow more copies of a kindle book if they noticed lots of folks wanting to read it ... right??!
This was a good book. It has been so long since I had read the first books in this series I had forgotten the back story of Alma, Leo and Amos. I also had forgotten why Leo relapsed. I wished that it would of touched a little bit more of why just to catch up. Otherwise, another good read by this author! Recommended even if you haven't read the others. I can be read as a standalone.
This was a sweet, more of a slow burn book of two characters I already liked. I felt it was great to get to know Ollie more and get his story too. I also could relate with Quinn as a fashion major who ended up just working retail and slowly working my way up to merchandise manager 😂 plus she’s just got a fun personality too. Very cute and not quite as much angst as the first in the series. Looking forward whats in store for the next few in the series
These books just keep getting better. I don’t know how, but they do. I cannot wait to read more. It was sad that Ollie was blaming himself over Leo. I cried when I read that. It wasn’t his fault. I wanted to jump through the book to tell him. Now on to the next book. I wonder what Cat’s story is going to be like.
This book is perfect for The Beautiful Souls Collection. I loved how Quinn’s story shares some of the same moments as Bared Souls and Kindred Souls without simply recapping them.
Not quite 5 stars but really good book. Quinn is Alma’s best friend and Ollie was Leo’s sponsor. The road to thier romance was a long time in coming. But worth it.
