There’s something strange going on at the academy. The longer they’re there the more dark and twisted secrets start to be exposed somehow they’re at the heart of it.
Between the unusual courses, helping Atlas with his jobs and a dangerous mystery that could put all their lives at stake, they still find time for each other and Evers starting to realise that the guys were holding back, now they’ve said they’re all in there’s no stopping them.
She loves it, but that’s not the only thing they’ve been holding back on.
Their darkness might just rival hers and isn’t that a deliciously dangerous realisation?
This is a medium burn Reverse Harem.
Warnings: Please be advised that this book contains dark themes, including abuse, memories of abuse from when she was a child, violence and cursing.

Pages: 413 My rating: 3.5 only to express that it's better than the first two books, rounded down to three stars
While the first book reminded me of TVD without the UF, this book reminds me of Hannaford Prep and Secret girl (this one mainly because one girl in a all boys school). But both series were done better in my opinion.
Basically Ever and the boy have to leave because somebody in her new hometown a spy for the criminals. They now attend an academy and college for rich kids. And now they are involved in more stuff: a mystery and solve, why the boss of Ever’s father wants her.
There were less mistake in this one compared to the second book. In my opinion adding the mystery to all the other stuff that’s going on, was unnecessary. And when it was said that they will have another guy housing with them it was pretty clear that it will be Atlas. Also another guy is add to the harem. (Come on eight guys and one girl?).
I don’t know if I will continue with the series. It will depend on my mood an how many other books are planned in this series.
The Characters: Names and descriptions of the persons
3.5 Stars I really liked this series. Book 2 probably has to be my favourite. I kinda don't know how to feel about Phoenix. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Ugh I don’t know about this series! It supposed to be a +20 books series and I personally LOVE long ass series but something is missing for me. It’s just so bland and boring, I want to like Everleigh and the guys and I keep continuing with the next installments but I’m still left unsatisfied…
I don’t know if I should continue pushing🫠🫠
Book 2 was the best installment yet and it’s still ongoing, I’m putting book 4 on hold for now (knowing myself I’ll probably stop at this one).
WHO CARES ABOUT THE EDITING OF THE LANGUAGE!! That's not the problem...
Not even excited about the next book. Another guy added, seriously?? That means that in the next there will be a 9th? I cannot make a connection with the guys if there are so many... I mean we have barely gotten to get to know the OGs of the H and now we have to get to know somebody else? Also how is this not affecting the guys emotionally? If there is literally no limit, no exclusivity, nothing special to their bond.
I thought the special thing was that they grew up together? But now it's become a thing that every friend of the guys that has a dark past and a trigger is welcome to the h just lile that. It honestly makes it feel like playing pretend rather than "real love" between them. Not to mention, the more guys in the h, the less time each one of them has with her, so much less that I forget they exist. Is the author adding so many guys because creatively she cannot come up with more plot in the story or deepen the guys personalities? Or because she herself finds the personalities she created were too boring and needed something new? Because I dont see how these new guys are needed in the story at all.
Also, the story kind of sidetracked from my pov. First, I thought all her work with her dad was going to catch up to her (someone with revenge or whatever), then we get a random stalker, then out of the blue she needs to go in hidding to a veryyyyy random place that doesnt make sense at all and hide from someome that is not intending to harm her?? And now this secret society or whatever is apparently run by her mother? Who is trying to get her killed? With what intentions is she threatening her? I don't even understand what is the mother trying to prevent Ever of interfering with?? If they themselves have zero clue what's going on?!?! The storyyy is simply too all over the place!
You could say I didnt even read this. I paraphrased it because it was really boring. The guys just repeat and do the same things over and over and over again and she as well. I cannot say I'm excited for the next book if I'm being honest...
I worked out what was bugging me so much about this series. It’s lazy writing. the characters all talk in cliches and don’t feel real. No one would say ‘we’ll go in under the cover of darkness’. It feels like the author wanted to write an edgy story about trauma and such but doesn’t understand it in the slightest. Or maybe just a vague sense. None of these characters respond in authentic that people with trauma have. Just toss some panic attacks in to make up for it? Nope that’s not how that works. Plus they’re 17/18??? NOT BELIEVABLE.
This book also explored other characters POV which added nothing to the story because they all think the same. And then they all repeat those same thoughts.
It’s like this was a first draft because the story idea is good, it’s just too long and should have been developed more. Especially in editing, the number of errors were HUGE. I started highlighting them all just too see how many I could find. Simple things like missing words or the wrong word. Can’t get an editor? Fine, get some beta readers.
TLDR The author is writing what she thinks the audience wants and it doesn’t feel real and authentic to someone in those situations. Sad because the ideas are good.
Unfortunately this is where I end my reading of this series.
For the Love of god. I must really like this author because I am putting up with so many grammar issues it's starting to drive me insane. Again, I like the story however, the grammar is really beginning to piss me the fuck off. Again I know a wee bit crass but I don't care. She is starting to really piss me off. Nikita is a great author. I do not understand why this series has failed so much. The story is solid. I'm enjoying that part of it but I do not like the missing words. I do not like the fact that there are extra words that shouldn't even be there. I do not like the fact that she keeps on mixing up US terms versus UK terms. I do not like the fact that she keeps calling it a floor when it should be the ground. The floor insinuates that it's inside not outside. You do not have to be from the USA to understand the difference. This book, this whole series, is frustrating the hell out of me. But you know what? Doesn't matter. Cuz I'm going to read the next book. Heaven help me.
As much as I liked the previous books, this one was boring and I really struggled finishing it... It's not that it's very bad but this academy thing didn't make sense in my opinion and the pace was slow... The storyline becomes more and more unrealistic and now there is this Phoenix cult...(didn't it remember you some Harry Potter book😅😕). The end was the best part and there is definitely something cooking with who was Amelia and what she's for Ever... I have to say that my main interest in the story is to read about how Rage and Ever relationship is developing. It's sweet and hilarious at some point🥰 I definitely love this guy!!! I hope the last book would be more interesting and captivating!
So, I guess we still aren’t proofreading these books ahead of time.
Example: “Not here, you want to mess around, do it on your own fucking time.” Rage says appearing out of nowhere and pushing his way through the crowd his eyes widen when he sees me stood facing off the guy.
That entire thing is a mess.
Between the massive amount of proofreading errors and continual use of British spelling and terminology, I think I’m done with the series. It’s just too distracting and disappointing.
Update: I changed my review from two to one stars. It is so bad that I couldn’t finish. DNF at 25%.
This author is officially on my “”Never Again” list.
I need more!!! I cannot wait for the next book to come out! That twist at the end??? I didn't see that coming and I am so invested in this that I need to know what's going on. I can't wait to see how things play out with everyone. Especially Rage. I kinda wish Ever didn't have so many people out to get her all the dang time though. It's been one after another so I hope when we find out why that is I'm not let down with some silly excuse.
Loved all the new plot information and background we received in this book and the amazingly close relationships. Can't wait to find out what will happen next.
The idea for the story was good but it wasn’t executed well. Lots of grammatical errors, and stuff that just didn’t add up. Why did Atlas just hand off everything to Trick immediately? If they were so great at doing jobs then how is Trick coming with up with all these things that they’ve never thought about before that are crucial to any job? If Cash isn’t that good at hacking why is he taking chances with all this stuff knowing it could be detrimental? I could go on and on. Nothing really happened in this book and I really wanted some answers and to continue with this series but I think I will be leaving it here.
I understand the author is not from the US, however as her books are set in the US for the most part US grammar and syntax should be used. All word processors have the ability to switch the dictionary between different countries. If the word processor used doesn’t have this function, then beta readers should be found from the US to correct the issue. While I enjoyed the book in general the foreign grammar and syntax usage took away from my ability to immerse myself in the story.
Decent but for the love of everything fix bought and brought
This was a great installment to the series, but the author even though having revised this STILL needs to have bought and brought fixed. They are constantly being used incorrectly. In addition to that there are still words that need capitalizing, italics and the like. Random commas are also still found.
Still despite that I am enjoying this story, though I am still unsure about several things.
I definitely found Riley’s behavior shady AF, and I didn’t like how she was supposedly supportive to Ever but then bounced as soon as she got a girlfriend. Idk it was weird.
The whole story is a bit odd in that they are teenagers with this crazy skill set. It’s a bit unbelievable and Ever seems to know how to do a lot of things. Still I do believe it is plausible that there are some teens out there who probably have had a life knowing those skills. Anywho, the story of the, having to go to this new school is crazy. I definitely predicted that Atlas would be there.
But I was surprised to find out that the harem would be adding another member - Rage. I like him too. So far honestly none of the guys rub me the wrong way. They are all thoughtful, all into Ever and they all communicate rather well. They work together great.
What is odd is how they managed to miss a ton of classes and have zero repercussions or anyone looking into it.
Also the Detective said that this place was a safe place for Ever and the guys to go to but it’s cut throat? Started reminding me of Aurora Academy al la Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac. But we don’t get enough details or scenes in this school before Ever is led down a literal rabbit hole. This hole culminates in a new plot that is most definitely going to be after her as well. The odd thing about it is how all the stories may be intertwined. Idk.
Oh another part I found odd, someone from Ever’s past just happens to be at this specific party and going to an adjacent school? That’s a bit far fetched for me.
Still I am enjoying the mystery and intrigue though I do wish that Ever would focus. I also don’t understand why she wants to investigate about missing kids that sounded like it happened a while back. It just seems weird for her interest with the exception of it being some Scooby mission.
The ending is a little suspect. In that why would someone write that specific note like that. And how would they know about that specific word? More questions than answers.
Book definitely needs more revisions on the editing but otherwise the story is decent enough to keep my interest and investment. Just wish there wasn’t always a cliffhanger.
This series is my addiction. It is so good and consuming me completely. I love Ever and her bad a** ness and the boys. Now the harem is growing so let’s get a run down for all:
1. Trick - the string leader of the group and boss man, storm grey eyes, calls her sweetheart, tongue pierced, surfer blonde hair. 2. Rafe- Huge, dark brown hair in man bun and dark blue eyes, used to stutter, signs now, calls him big guy, didn’t speak since she left, now speaks, sexy voice, bisexual, also with riot, calls her baby, master cook, biggest of the guys. 3. Riot - messes her hair, black perfectly styled hair, amber eyes, nightmares, calls him sunshine, burns all over him, came out as bi at 14, father lost his shit burnt him, for 2 weeks, emancipated. 4. Jensen - dark blonde, dark green eyes, stubble, cheeky, clumsy, laidback, trickster, fighter, blood thirsty, when he was 4 2 guys broke in and beat mum and sister killing them both, calls her angel, scared of spiders. 5. Luc - calls him luci, calls her firecracker, chocolate brown eyes, reddish brown man bun, strong jaw, plump lips, cheeky, gets triggered , stayed with aunt and uncle, uncle would beat his Aunty almost killed her he saved her, police did nothing, parents stopped him seeing aunt, hates his parents, aunt actually his sister. 6. Cash - short brown hair, hazel eyes, calls her sweetheart, looks after them when hurt, olive skin, Italian half, mustang, il mio cuore (my heart), plays guitar and can sing, dimple. Atlas -boys bff, disappeared over summer, scary mf, fighter, plays guitar, aversion to being touched, tall, tattoos, ice blue eyes, black hair, scar down face, calls him atty, calls her princess, forever and Always, came in last book. Rage - big tattooed guy, friends with a, calls her puddin, aqua blue eyes, calls him rageykins, curly dark auburn hair, killed her dad, woman who raised him hates him, covered in tats, can’t hug a woman, mum and aunts used to pretend to be nice then hurt him, mums a famous actress. Not yet in harem but practically.
Sorry for spoilers but some like me may appreciate :)

Finding my home is definitely my favorite RH series of all time!!!
I was very excited to read the next book in the series and a bit dredded it too, to be honest. Since the first two books of the series were perfect and I enjoyed them ....a lot, I did not want to be dissappointed........ And I was not!! This proved to be another great masterpiece.
I have to say that Nikita Parmenter sure knows how to write a reverse harem book. I am a very big fan of the whole series with which I fell in love right from the start.
All of the main characters are well developed and relatable, which is very important when a book is not a standalone. It also helps that even though this is the third book in the series and there are others being released, we still do not know everything about Ever's and the guys pasts and more is reveiled step by step keeping the mystery alive and me as reader there and under a spell.
In my opinion, Rage is a great addition to Ever and the guys, really enjoyed reading the first interaction scene between Rage and Ever. The author also has found a great way to interconnect Rage's and Atlas's past with Ever's so that there is a connection between them the same way there is a past connection between Ever and the "original" guys Rafe, Luc, Riot, Jensen, Trick and Cash.
One thing that kind of bothered me through the whole book is that even though the book is set in a academy, there is practically no high shool type of interactions in the school setting, and I have to say that this kind of bothered me a little.
Nikita did it again. I don’t know why I’m surprised after the first two books. Her writing is really good and I can’t wait to read more. I already plan to dive back into the book and start to read it all over again. The book picks up where it left off. The guys and Ever start the new school and find a big surprise there. I don’t want to spoil it, so you will have to read it to find out. All the guys and Ever get to live together and I’m so happy for them. It was clear in book two how hard it was for them to be apart. There are a lot of mysteries throughout the book and we see more of Ever's and the guys background. And Ever makes a new friend who is hilarious! I can’t wait to see more of him. The book is also full of funny moments, but heartbreaking and shocking/surprising as well. I’m so curious to see what Liam is up to and why he is so different with Ever. I just hope they are not related. I was a bit afraid how Rage would fit in the group when we meet him. But after Atlas fitting in perfectly I was silly to be worried. He fits perfectly as well and I can’t wait to see more of him and his relationship with Ever. The cliffhanger wasn’t as bad as in the first book but I’m so curious to see everything fold out that I don’t know how I will manage to wait months for the next book.
I would have to say I have really enjoyed this series. There are only two things that really irritate me about these books so far. One, it is obviously written by a non-American. The terms used and phrases are clearly not something spoken natively in America. For example, in America, it's a sweater, not a jumper. The back end of the vehicle is a trunk, not a boot. The front end is the hood and not a bonnet. My biggest one is when you are outside it is called the ground and not the floor. If you are going to write a book with characters from another country, make sure they sound like they are from that country. This may sound petty but it drove me nuts during all three books and the three books in her other series. Secondly, the grammatical errors and misspellings were terrible. A simple spell check would have caught a lot of these problems.
That being said I really did enjoy these characters and the way they are developed. I like how even though Ever is badass, she still gets overwhelmed in certain situations. This makes her real and authentic. The idea of having eight men, however unrealistic, is interesting. The bones and structure of the books are great. It just needs to be polished.
OMG hands down this is Nikitas best book! I know people has been annoyed at her for the wrong spelling and grammar, but i have not noticed it that much. I guess it could be cuz i ain´t a native english speaker. I got a nice surprise yesterday that this third book would be released today. Yaas! I really liked how confident the heroin Ever is and how kick ass she is. I am excited to read more about her story, i read somewhere that she will end up with 11 guys? I think Alaric will join her harem, maybe. And Rage is already in almost, my feeling. I got annoyed when they was so scared to show their darkness to Ever, after all she has shown that she is already in the darkness... bruh, there is still sooo much to know about all of the characters , especially Ever and the guys. I felt like we got a lot of answers in this book BUT so much new questions left us in the unknown again, lol. The ending is not that bad of a cliffhanger, it leaves us more in the unknown who her momma is etc I have to do a reread asap
I want to start out by saying this book is good. It’s honestly better than I was expecting after her Imprinted Tattoo series. That being said, what the heck?! It was my bad, assuming that this was the last book. But still, there was a good bit of filler in the book too. I’m over Ever being hurt ALL the ever loving time. I’m bored with it. Also, I get having one bad guy in the story and one that spans the series but now there are two spanning more than one book. So there are far more questions and contradictions than answers. I find myself annoyed about these kids being so tactically trained that they can’t figure out to check out yearbooks or look for pictures of people. Even with this being a work of fiction, that was driving me absolutely up the wall. I know that’s a lot of complaints but in general, we t was good. I was sure it was going to be the best of the series. And then, all the stuff I said happened and then a cliffhanger that introduced yet another character or conspiracy. Now it’s just becoming too busy.
The author wrote in her Facebook group that she will be following these characters’ throughout their lives, and plans on writing a LOT of books for this series. That being said, book 3 was a great installment and really started to show a new depth for each of the characters we have already grown to love, while introducing new characters that are undoubtedly important for future storylines. This book started to set up some of the mystery for future books and I have so many theories it’s insane how many different directions this story could go. I am so excited to see where this authors creativity takes us next. For some constructive criticism, this author seems pretty new, and there are certain things that can be cleaned up while her writing continues to develop and improve. I’ve already noticed a big difference between some of her first books to the most recent, and I know the more she writes, the better it will get. For example, yes, there is a lot of cursing (author is British so no surprise there), a few typos or run on sentences here and there, and possibly some redundant or repetitive lines that could be reworded differently, but these are all minor kinks that can easily be improved upon. It certainly wasn’t enough for me to remove a star over any of it. The story and the characters are just so intriguing and quite frankly, addicting, that makes it all worth it. Great story, cannot WAIT to read more works by Nikita.
Problems: - Lots of garbled sentences. - Punctuation used with no rhyme or reason - Characters having long thoughts, and then speaking them aloud word- for-word - Ever is still the only decent woman on the planet, so much so that the author did away with her girl bestie and gave her a gay guy bestie (because, if he were anything but full on gay he'd join her dick brigade, obvi) - still no werewolves - there's not an iota of realistic plotting, character development, world building, or dialog to be found - this entire series is reading like one very long book, and the plot advances at a snails pace - I'm going to continue reading this series
Positives - either I've learned to understand the author's writing better, or she's gotten better at differentiating the male characters and remembering how many there actually are. She probably did a recount when she added more - I'm going to continue reading the series.
holy sh*t bro, i didn’t even notice that the book was ending until it ended on a biggg cliffhanger as i said on the last two reviews i like the way the author talks about deep stuff and the personality that she insert in our main character i knew that the detective was sus but thank god he was in our side the way i knew we would meet atlas at this new school left me soo anxious to that scene and when it happen it was the happiest and funniest thing rage is a character that i’m currently in love and atlas still has my heart although i love all of them and wouldn’t be able to chose one also what’s happening with liam, i don’t know if i need to hate him or love him i knew he was the guy we met in the first book and his caring part for her left me confused about his intentions like the characters but the thing he did with rylie is the only thing that makes me a little wary of him rylie also lost credits with me although i would be equally scared as her and peter is starting to have a special place in my heart another thing: what’s up with the phoenix thingy, like why are the members so dangerous and mysterious over a club kkkkkk they almost killed my girl to maintain their secrets and importance 🙄 my favs in the end are: atlas, jensen and rage
After the revelations of the previous book, now the gang is on their way to the rather exclusive, and reclusive, Blackbreak Academy - where money can buy you just about anything, for the right price.
Ever and the guys are being sent to this cutthroat school as Alaric's version of witness protection, but things aren't as they appear. A new bestie for Ever, and teachers that are as rotten as the students complicate their self-imposed mission once they arrive at the school. Really enjoyed this, as I am a sucker for a dark academic setting, and with all the shit that hits the fan in this book, I'm surprised that anyone is left standing at the end. Still has all the trigger warnings, but the characters have levelled up since the first book and this school setting suits the nature of the story.
I have to admit, that despite the continuing physical abuse and violence that these kids endure, I am hooked and have to find out that is in store for them.
I have a few reasons why I continued reading this, despite my mediocre reviews:
One, I found the whole only girl in a boys academy kind of funny, and I had a feeling a certain person (one I really wanted to see again) would be there ().
Two, I wanted to meet Rage (glad I did btw). Had a feeling he would be showing up after he was mentioned in the previous book.
Three, I really wanted to see some more action between Ever and the guys (sorely disappointed on that one).
And lastly, I bought the first three books in a package deal, so I might as well read it, since I wanted to see the aforementioned.
Will I finish the series? It's not that I hate the story, but there are so many good books out there, just waiting to be picked up. So no, I'm not gonna continue with this series.
I just started rereading the first book in this series because I was reading a spin off and realized that I stopped this series after the 2nd book because I was waiting for the 3rd to come out. Well, I got distracted by a lot of other books and decided to come back to these! I have missed Ever and her guys. Watching the relationships between them grow stronger gives me the best feelings. I can’t wait to see how that all turns out. I’m loving the mystery aspect in this 3rd book. Ever and her guys are sent to an all boys school to keep her safe from the men who worked with her father. While there, they end up trying to solve an age old mystery involving a secret society called Phoenix. Danger seems to follow Ever and her men wherever they go. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Just when you think you’ve figured it all out…BAMM, there’s another plot twist.
Ever and her boys are sent away to attend a prestigious all-boys Academy. But things just get more complicated as new puzzles pieces keep showing up, distorting what they thought was their reality.
Rage. The newest addition to Ever’s group. I think he’s the only one who constantly bickers with Ever…and it’s so freaking entertaining. His backstory was so heart-breaking; it makes it more satisfying watching the other boys making it a point to include him in their plans. His confusion at their involvement was so cute.
Also, can we just talk about Peter? He’s such a diva! I live for it. Now I want a bestie like that. His dialogue, style and flair for the dramatics is so fun to read.
This book was definitely a huge improvement on the second book & while there was a lot more plot, I wish some of this plot was in book 2 because it was a slight overload!
At this point atlas & rage are SAVING this series for me and are the reason I’m continuing to read 🥹
There were so many additional characters introduced in this that it became kind of hard to keep track of everyone (jynx, emery, d ect). Also who thought it was a good idea to have both a rage & a rafe in a group of mmc’s? Every time I read or hear their names I have to reverify which one it is.
Still sad at the lack of mm between riot & rafe - they’re literally together yet have 0 interactions outside of a few kisses. This is starting to feel like throwing an mm relationship in as a filler.
The author definitely needs to not be as repetitive with words 😅
Review of Twisted Complications by Nikita Parmenter, book 3 of Finding My Home series * * * * * Oh my golly goshness I have been wanting to read this book for so long and it was so bloody good! The plot took a huge turn I definitely did not expect it to make, but it was still thrilling and invited new fabulous characters. Another hotness is added - hello my dear Rage, more Atlas - yes queen, brave risky missions, and an amazing cliffhanger that has me wanting the fourth book badly! Like seriously, that last two pages has me going dun dun DUN! Btw, the stab-a-bitch game is my favourite too, lol.
Honestly I was really looking forward to reading this series. But I couldn't finish. There has been that many errors it's unreal. It seams like every other page has a missing word or wrong word in it. It's the same with the previous 2 books in the series. I've really struggled to read them because of all the errors. You get into the swing of reading and then there is another mistake. This series could do with a really good proof read or Betta readers. It's a shame because it had huge potential. If in the future it's proof read then I may go back and read but for now it's a dnf.
