This was a seven part podcast series which is available free with a subscription to Audible, written and narrated by an Australian life coach. I’ve listened to quite a few of these types of recordings now, because I find their upbeat positive messages are a good accompaniment to running, but until this week I hadn’t run since September, so this has been sitting there waiting for new to finish it. I think there are possibly diminishing returns with them as this didn’t feel like anything new although I liked her delivery style.

This tackles figuring out what your dreams & values are, learning how to say no, managing feelings & moods, tackling negative messages (from others and yourself), avoiding overreaching, overcoming mental obstacles and visualising the future you want.
Bertolucci speaks clearly and has a pleasant soft Aussie accent but I found all the personal anecdotes off-putting - she comes across as horribly smug from her own success. There are short interviews with clients at the end of each chapter to illustrate the points made but I found these too vague and limited to be particularly useful, I would’ve preferred more concrete examples. It did make me think about things but I need more than just being told how to think to change my mindset.

I think this would work best for someone new to this kind of life coaching podcast. It’s not too long and it is very simple to follow. She mentions a free workbook which I suppose could be helpful but previously I’ve found these sorts of resources inevitably involve signing up to the author’s newsletter and I can’t be bothered with that.

Favourite excerpts:
Ep 1: "Anytime you find yourself saying 'I could do this, I should do that, if only then I would do it', it's a clear sign that you're not talking about something you actually want to do."
"Release yourself from expectations, yours and everyone else's."
Ep 2: "Because I don't want to is a perfectly valid reason to say no, not now, or not ever. You don't need to justify your decision or defend your position."
"Saying no is your prerogative, it's your choice and their reactions are about them and not you."
"When you say no and someone is disappointed, that is simply their reaction, not your responsibility."
Ep 4: "'Some will, some won't, so what?' ... while some people would think positively about me..., others might not. But the real question I needed to answer was why did it matter, why did I care...
"Why should someone else's opinion or judgement of you matter so much? Why should it matter more than your opinion or judgement of yourself? Why would you prioritize their thoughts, feelings or opinions over your own?"
Ep 5: "Fear is simply your subconscious' way of letting you that something is important."

A 7 part [I just realised how silly it is to say that - it's right in the title, AM] audiobook, with handouts and links to her life coaching website - naturally.

Some days I think I've heard all of this before, but it helps my dumbass to get it to hear it again. It can't hurt, right?

The 7 Step Mindset Makeover is nothing revolutionary, but it's a good recalibration from getting sucked into life and caring about what other people think.

Helped me dump things I did not want. And have a place to put my best interest at one place.
I started this book in January all pumped for new year but lost track. Now I did complete it.

The Aha moment for me was intentional living. I have been seeing signs in form of people, intuition and posts telling me to listen to this that what I need from my life is not a goal or a hustle but an intention that I can work on each day and not something I achieve over a time and forget or feel tired at the end.

I hope it gives others insights and time to think, as much as it gave to me!

Still have to go through the bonuses!!!

Old and familiar concepts written in a new voice. The only step that I found unique was the first one. The detoxification of dreams. All the other steps sounded familiar from many self help books.

Contient des bonnes astuces. Très simple à comprendre. Tout de même assez léger!
