In this guidebook you will find all the information and resources I have collected throughout the years that you will need to self-publish successfully within the United States, though some steps may be useful in other territories. I have also included checklists to help you along. This book was put together especially for BIPOC writers, those of us who because of the systematic lack of diversity in traditional publishing opt to take on the task of doing this ourselves. If you purchased this guidebook, it is because you are preparing to publish. I have done this before so you are off to a great start, I must warn you, with this guidebook you will learn how much work is really involved with self-publishing. Unlike authors who publish with indie presses and or big publishing houses, when you decide to self-publish you do not have a team supporting you. You will be the writer, publisher, promoter, customer service rep, mailer, etc., start wrapping your mind around that and pace yourself. However, there are ways to diminish the feelings of overwhelmness and that is by creating a strategy, pacing yourself, and doing your due diligence. Allow me to empower you and teach you the ways.
The information was exceptionally helpful and easy to follow. The guide was filled with many examples and direct links to sites that are necessary for the process of publishing. The information was so compelling that I was able to read the entire guide in one day. I love the fact that it lives on my phone because I can come back to it as many times as I'd like since I am in the process of self-publishing myself.
I’ve read quite a few books for writers but I’ve yet to read one with hyperlink resources and no up-sell. Not to sound sentimental but I feel as if the author cares and wants others to win too. If you are self publishing or writing wishing to publish one day, you definitely need to read this.
