I really hope this book doesn't portray Danielle's pregnancy the way Lily's pregnancy was portrayed. Please no scenes of Danielle whining how she can't have any coffee (because that is not true at all - pregnant women can have coffee, they just need to limit it) and/or everyone around her telling her that "nothing will happen to the baby" if she wants to wait to tell people or voices any concern over the possibility of a loss (I certainly don't want there to be any sort of loss, but it drove me CRAZY when Lily was pregnant and other characters were constantly brushing off her concerns like they weren't valid or like miscarriages never happen).
Also, PLEASE tell me that Kelly stops being so annoying, or is written out of the series all together...pretty please?? And please no more of Walt & Danielle or their friends once again finding/being entitled to more $$$ they don't need.
I actually really like this series overall and plan to listen to this next installment via Audible, but it'd be nice if pregnancy were portrayed accurately, Kelly stopped being so obnoxious, and the already rich residents of Beach Drive stopped falling onto $$--why not give Brian or Adam a chance to get some for a change???

Another great mystery. Danielle is in the early stage in her pregnancy. (Eek so excited for the next book) Who would want a 95 year old woman dead? That's the question throughout the book. I was surprised by the ending.
This one kept me on my toes through the entire thing! I suspected everyone as the murderer; however, there was one person in particular I thought it could be. I was right!
Danielle and the Beach Street crew had to figure out who killed 95 year old Rachel with poison and then who killed Pearl, Danielle and Walt’s pesky neighbor. Pearl was such a busybody, but every story needs a person the reader loves to hate on. Pearl was that person. Throughout the story, Pearl slowly changed and became a nicer woman…ghost. Too bad it wasn’t until she was dead that she threw away her bitter heart.
The Police Chief’s son can see and communicate with ghosts, too. He helped a bit in the murder investigations. Also, Danielle is pregnant and Evan told her she can have a girl, so I suspect she’ll either have a single girl or since twins run in the Marlow family, Danielle and Walt may have twins! I hope whatever Danielle has arrives in Book 30’s story!
I love this entire series, all 29 books. Every read has been unique in its own way. You can read this book as a stand-alone, but if you do you won’t understand the dynamics of all the relationships. You won’t know that Walt was once a ghost but was able to become a tangible person who was able to impregnate his wife! There are many things you’ll miss, like Lily was a ghost and human captive at the same time. You need to read this series from book 1 and go in order. It’s great! I highly recommend!
The next (and last? I hope not!) Book in the Haunting Danielle series is the 30th that will not be released until May 19, 2022 and it is titled The Ghost and the Medium.
The book I am choosing to read next is by JB Lynn and is the newest release in the Hitwoman series. Book 30 - The Hitwoman’s Girls Night Out.
I can’t be the only one a little… relieved that Pearl is out of the picture now right? That woman wasn’t a joy to read about in any of the previous books. I was mildly dreading potential reading her interactions with Walt, Danielle, and their new baby. I guess I’m glad that’s not an issue anymore! How does this little beach town keep collecting murderers though…

When Leanne Hodges finds her 95-year-old friend Rachel Moore dead one Sunday morning to bring her to church, everyone thinks it was just old age. But when a second church-going friend also dies, everyone is beginning to wonder. And who is the little girl and her dog who keeps showing up at the houses of the deceased?
Wow.. A pregnant Danielle must help out and solve the murder..murders.. of the little old ladies. Why kill a 95 year old lady?! Then why did you have to go and kill Pearl?! I was finally starting to like her. And for sure Kelly and her mom are just annoying and need to go away and take Joe with them.
I was surprised by the unexpected ghost in this one, but it was well written and a good read. The added Audible narration was excellent. I recommend this book and series. I hope this series doesn't end, I love it.
I loved this book- and the whole series. Danielle and Walt are going to have a baby! Early days yet. All their friends are very happy. Then when Danielle is visiting her friend Melony they find the woman next door dead. Rachel was very old so the police don't think much of it except that Brian, one officer who is privy to the fact that the mediums on Beach Drive can see and talk to ghosts, notices blue around the victim's lips. The old lady had a couple good friends and one, the church lady who helped her all the time, inherited her property. Or did she. There are several suspects including the people in the neighborhood who wanted to open a B&B and were shut down by Rachel at the behest of her other friend Pearl. Pearl is Walt and Danielle's nasty neighbor who had their B&B shut down. Then Pearl is murdered but she hangs around as an annoying ghost determined to help find her killer. I was surprised at the reveal of the perpetrator at the climactic end.
I try to space the books out but I can't wait for the next one.
I still love the series, but my only frustration is that these 30 year olds act like they are retirees in their 60s. Danielle makes a passing comment about Blue Bloods, and as a 31 year old I don't know of a single person in my friend group nor outside my grandparents that watches that show. I think a more accurate cultural reference for that scene about family dinners would be something like Gilmore Girls or Fast and Furious or something. I know it's a very petty complaint, but sometimes the way the characters act (like not having a single impulse to google something on their phones or Walt's insistence on wearing a fedora when that hat is notoriously known for being worn by pick up "artists") pull me right out of the story.
But, on the flip side, I don't think I'm the target age group for this book series, and changing the characters to act younger than retirees might actually alienate the audience that these books are intended for. I love the series, and it's brought me such joy, so I'll get over the anachronisms.
While we all jumped from suspect to suspect trying to figure out who killed Rachel and Pearl for once it went to the very end before the real killer was revealed. We wouldn't have been surprised if Larry killed Leanne but it was a shocker it was the other way around. Glad the letter to Tammy was found. At one point you wonder if Larry had arranged the deaths of the elder ladies Leanne had helped then received an inheritance from. Leanne's soft comment about being charged with murdering "the others" puts a dark twist on things. The reservation at the end is a super teaser for the next book. Danielle's ex-in-laws never liked her. Not sure they will accept her new marriage and baby well and by Thanksgiving she won't be able to hide the facts.
I have never before known a series to be this good for so long. I prefer series over stand alone books, because I like to get to know the characters. But usually around book 10 they get dull. Not so in these books.
I love all of these characters, old and new. This author is really good at invoking appropriate emotions, and describing scenes in a way which makes it easy to picture them without being too wordy.
This could be enjoyed as a stand alone book, with the murders, mystery, and ghosts, but you will miss a lot if you don't read the whole series.
The least popular resident of Beach Drive is murdered. Her spirit refuses to leave until the group finds out who killed her. She is as big a pain dead. Pearl’s friend was also murdered, but has moved on. Seems Angela had a child out of wedlock who she gave up for adoption. She found her years later and made her, her heir. The lady who took her to church every week thought she would her heir; so she killed her and destroyed the letter explaining the change. LeAnne wanted the house to leave her husband, but instead killed him. 😝

When an old some is murdered, everyone has their own idea who might be, then a second woman dies and everything is turned on it's head. Who could kill two women like that? The usual suspects all have an alibi. Then things get more interesting, with a new person to inherit the estate. Can Danielle a d her friends work it out. The real murderer is a surprise.
A must read for all lovers of the supernatural world.
The Ghost and the Church Lady ( Haunting Danielle book 29)
As always another great book, still sad when the story ends. I am so looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Thank you Bobbi Holmes, & Anna J. McIntyre for writing the best series that keeps me reading into the night because I just can not put the book down. That's how exciting this series is.
I read it straight through as usual, and now will go back to read a few others. I can no longer re-read the whole series when a new one comes out as I did with the first ten or so. There do seem to be an unusual amount of murders in that town. I am not sure that this can be explained by their being detected by the mediums, although clearly many were going unsuspected, as in this case. This series is a joy!
This was an intense and extremely riveting ghostly mystery. I couldn't put it down and it became another Bobbi Holmes mystery I've lost sleep over. Much to my delight! I'm a little sad to see Pearl's character no longer a part of the mysteries anymore. She sure brought a lot of drama to Danielle's life. Wonder who will replace her? Phenomenal series! Hope it goes on for a very long time!!!!
We start with a dead body who’s not surprised she’s dead because she’s 95. When she’s found the police become suspicious because she smells like almonds and then her friend ends up dead. A couple of break ins later and then another dead body. A mysterious benefactor ends up inheriting and more mysteries come out. Wait! How many people have you killed? I have a feeling there’s gonna be a fight for a certain house in the future. 👀👀👀
The 29th book in the Haunting Danielle series is great! I'm not one to give too much info in a book review but if you haven't read the series, start now. The Ghost of Marlow House is the first book, then you can follow the Beach Drive mediums and their friends thru 29 adventures!
I always love a good who done it mystery. This one is a really good one. It had me all over the p!ace with who did the deed. We loose a character who we love to hate, we learn about ghost dogs, and the Marlows pregnancy is moving along. What will her dead husbands mom say about it.😍👻🐕🍼
This is my favorite series and was so happy to read this series again. I missed these characters. I love this Author as she writes great mysteries and has a great imagination. I highly recommend all Her books to everyone who loves a great paranormal mystery. You will love the ghosts. Diana Romano
I can't believe that, because I picked up the first book , I became hooked on the series and just finished reading "The Ghost And The Church Lady" book 29. Here I am waiting for book #30. I feel I know the characters intimately and look forward to meeting them each time I open the newest chapter.
This story was true to the series of characters and storylines. Having read the series from book one, I enjoy the building of them and the references to previous stories and reintroducing previous minor characters as main characters. I can't wait for the next book to come out! Until then, I will miss my friends.
I love reading and read nightly for many hours. This book bored me so much I fell asleep reading it. The mystery was more misery. I don't like giving up on a book but had to quit this one. There wasn't a catch. It had a boring premise and no mystery. I kept saying "give a chance". I waited. And waited. And waited. Oh well, off to find a new read.
I loved it. I am a beta reader so I get the book free for a review. Bobbi writes such interesting books and keeps me guessing all the time. There were ghosts that I didn’t realize were ghosts right away. It is also a wonderful love story.
A Fun Foray Into Another Haunting Danielle Mystery
Another fun mystery in the series with a new twist and new developments in the lives of the Beach Drive Mediums. Holmes continues to write compelling mysteries that keep you turning the pages late into the night!
I loved this book, but you really had to concentrate with so many red herrings and suspects. It seems that there are more ghosts and people who can talk to ghosts. It almost make you believe it could happen.
I have read every book in this series and they stay fresh and fun every time. You just have to suspend reality to believe thAt so many ghosts and mediums live in the same area.
