Very easy to read informational guide on the basics of launching a book as a self-published author. I'm glad I own the physical copy so I can reference it whenever I need to in the future. Both authors are candid about their experiences in terms of sales and profit. I've learned so much from each of them by subscribing to their YouTube channels as well. Indie authors, you need this on your shelf!

The final book of the Marketing for Authors series puts together all of the lessons and takeaways of the previous four books of the series into making a profitable book launch. Starting from when you are writing the book to past release day, Mandi Lynn and Bethany Atazadeh take you through each step of promoting the book. It goes into cover reveals and street teams and ARCs and book tours to release day and what comes afterward. Most of the major marketing tools are covered, along with a few I haven't considered, and they add in their personal experiences with each step, which gave me a lot to think about. In the back, there's dozens of links and references to enhance the experience. While generally you can read these books in any order, you should read this one after reading the others, or at the very least understand the basic concepts of the four books before getting into this one. I know with all of these great tips, I'll be going back to this book again and again when I prepare to publish.

I have now read this entire series of books, and recommend them for authors at any stage of their career. With the ever-changing field of social media, there's always something to learn.

In this case, it's a practical set of steps for launching a book.

One of the things I love about this series is how frank the authors are. They tell you not to do everything on the list, because you'll get overwhelmed. Instead, pick a couple of things to try. If they work, great. If not, try another thing.

So many things about marketing really are trial and error; these are practical, friendly guides that won't make you lose your mind with busy-ness.

SO excited this book is officially released! It's the fifth and final book in the Marketing for Authors Series, and is for both self-published and traditionally published authors who are getting ready for a book launch and want to set their book up for success! While the other books in the series can be read in any order, we typically suggest reading this one *after* the other books, as it pulls a ton of information from those previous books into the strategies listed in these pages. Happy reading!

I've read the first 2 books in the Marketing for Authors series, but still need to read books 3 and 4, so I can confirm you can read the series out of order. I've self-published 2 books, so while I'm not as experienced as Mandi and Bethany are with publishing, I don't think I'm a newbie author anymore. This series is great for newer authors who have no clue what they're doing with marketing and authors like me who have already published a few books, but are looking for new marketing tactics.

Plan a Profitable Book Launch provides many great tactics for a successful book launch. Mandi and Bethany both share their own experiences with publishing, which provides insightful information about what they have each tried and their mistakes along the way. I especially found the section about pre-orders useful. I wish this book had been published sooner because the chapter about author events/book signings was incredibly helpful. It provides all the information you need to know before setting up book signings.

I highly recommend this book and the entire marketing series to any indie authors who are wondering where to start with marketing, need new marketing tactics, and want to read about what did and didn't work for other authors.

This easy-to-read book contains a helpful list of ideas and strategies to use when launching your book. It focuses on the experience of the two authors (Lynn and Atazadeh) who have released multiple books, and have implemented a variety of strategies with varied success. In this book, they talk about what worked, what didn't work, and what might work in different circumstances. They discuss return on investment - what it is, and why it's important to consider - and give lots of ideas for things you can try.

I enjoyed this book - especially since I have a release coming up next month. Even though I've done pretty much everything wrong, it will be good to sit down and think about what I can do to change things up in the next weeks in order to salvage what I can.

There are also heaps of links in the resource chapter to videos that go into more depth on certain topics, which can be helpful if you want to take a deeper dive.

This book is an extremely helpful. If you were considering taking the Publish and Thrive Course, but couldn't afford it, this book (and the others in the series) might be a great alternative option, as I feel they cover much of the same information.

I was so thrilled to be given an advanced reader copy of the book and I am telling you now, I will be running to get my hands on the other books in this series asap.

This book, in particular, was just what I needed to read to help me out with wrapping my head around when and how to begin marketing and launching my own books one day

It covers all the different kinds of marketing from hard marketing to soft marketing (I didn't even know there was a difference), promotions, and all the printing advice you could ask for. It gives you the rundown of so many companies and presents lists of pros and cons which are so useful.

The to-do lists are fantastic and it breaks down all the things you should know and, instead of trying to tell you which option to choose, it presents you with all the possible information you could want in order to make an informed choice and then make the best decisions for YOUR book.

Mandi and Bethany have done such an incredible job with this series, I would definitely recommend it to any indie/up-and-coming author who is looking for some helpful (and cheap) advice with their book publishing process.

I really liked the advice in here. I do recognize however that a lot of it will work best (or only) if you already have built an author platform or a following online. Some of the advice will also work well if you have friends and family who support you. So it's very important to try to create a following, most of all. Especially those of us whose family won't even read our books, much less leave a review, and our friends unfriended us the moment we self-published and started marketing ourselves as authors 😅 . At the end of the day, no matter how introverted you are, if you have something to sell you have to be doing stuff online and getting yourself out there. If at first you don't succeed, try again and again.

There's a book for just that in this series, by the way, on how to build your author platform, which I read and liked a lot as well. I'm going to reread that and make a plan to build a following because at the end of the day that's really what it all comes down to. Overall this is very good advice, easy to follow, and there are a lot of resources provided at the end that you can check out. The links are provided too, so if you have the ebook you can simply click on these and have all the information available right there.

Plan A Profitable Book Launch is the 5th book in the Marketing for Authors series. I loved all the books in the series, but this one has to be my favorite! I devoured this book in a day, and I know it's one I will continually come back to as a reference. This book is jam-packed with relevant and detailed tips! I published my first book this year, and this series has been indispensable to my own author journey.
I wish this book would have come out sooner as it has many excellent tips for planning a successful and profitable book launch that I would have loved to try. The good news is if you haven't released your book yet, you are in luck. Do yourself a favor and read this one!!! If you already have a book out there, you can still implement many of the ideas going forward with your current release. I know I will use this book as a reference when planning my next book launch.

Disclaimer- I received a free eARC in exchange for an honest review. I would have read and reviewed it regardless because I'm such a fan of the series! I also plan to buy the paperback when it releases to add it to my collection of reference books.

I received a free eARC and am leaving an honest review. This is book 5 in the series, and I have only read book 4, so I'm aware that I've missed a few but can say I loved the 2 I have read.

The book covered a lot of different aspects of planning and things to consider with a launch. Following on from the book before, it expands on how to use in-person events and social media to focus on profit, some rough guides for a timeline, and suggests ways to fine tune what you’ll already be doing (especially if you’re implementing the techniques from the previous instalment.)

This book follows on especially well from the previous one, including some points I hadn’t considered when exploring how I might run my own book launch plan. As I am still in the editing process, planning a launch is still a way off for me, so I was not implementing the recommendations at this point. However I will be returning to this book when I reach that stage, especially for the checklists to ensure I don’t miss anything.

Another great resource for indie authors!

I'm not new to this Marketing for Authors series by Mandi Lynn and Bethany Atazadeh and I'm really glad I read it. In this book, the authors explore the world behind planning a book launch, sharing information, tips and resources that they have used personally throughout the steps leading to release (and even after that).

This is a very valuable tool, and though I won't try everything that's described in the book, I'll definetely use it as reference for my next book launch.

Highly recommended!

Mandi Lynn and Bethany Atazedah are personable self-publishing experts whose YouTube channels have offered hours of useful education and entertainment. This slim volume—part of a five-part series useful for self-publishing—acts as the Cliff notes for the book release portion of a self-publisher. The narrative voices are true to the YouTube personae: both authors are forthright about their experiences and honest in their assessment of how things have gone so far. In short, this is a nifty reference for anyone contemplating independent publishing in the 2020's.

If you're an author who's planing on releasing a book soon, this book is a must read! It gives you a lot of tips on how to market your books and how to be effective instead of wasting your time. Mandi and Bethany talk about different marketing paths that you can try and give you a lot of insight in their own experiences. I can also highly recommend all the other books in the series. As an author who does not really like marketing, reading these books helped me to not feel overwelmed by it.

I would say this book is the most useful one in the series, for me personally. There was a lot of info I didn't know about and a different perspective on things I already knew about.
I liked learning about the different options for distributing ARCs and I've been given new ideas for running my Street Teams in the future.
Best of all, I'm now more confident in my decision to hire out my book tour planning for my upcoming book.
I definitely recommend this great

An incredibly useful book for anyone planning on launching a book. The parts I found particularly useful were on planning your publishing and marketing timeline, and on ways to get ARC readers. But this gave me so many more things to think about and some great tips for planning my book launch! Plus there is an awesome list of resources at the back. It was a nice quick read that I highly recommend.

This was actually my least favorite book of this series. I think that’s because the marketing strategies discussed are a better fit for fiction books and I’m writing non-fiction. That’s just my perspective. However, there are an abundance of resources inside. Overall, informative. Just not sure how much I’ll apply to my own book launch. The entire series really is super helpful. Highly recommend.

Very helpful book! I’m planning a short story launch and this book gave me many ideas. What I loved the most is that the two authors mentioned their preferences or what worked for them, so you can resonate with one or the other (or both). This isn’t a book telling you how to fix everything, with fake promises. It is very humane in its approach of sharing tips and letting YOU decide what works best for your projects.

For anyone planning their first book launch, this is a must read. And even if it's not your first book launch, I'm sure you can find great tips and resources from this book.

I haven't read the rest of the series, but this one is a great guide to book launches. The book is full of ideas and tips, some of which I'm excited to test myself.

This is the first book I've read in this series and I'm hooked. Mandi and Bethany do a fantastic job of outlining the tough journey of planning a book launch. For any new author - or even one who hasn't done a launch in a while or is a pro at them - the details and insights given are priceless!
