Welcome to Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency, where Marion Matched is ready to help you find your soul mate.
When it comes to dating, Marion Matched has seen it all. She’s the witch people call when they’re fed up with unsolicited d*ck pics on their dating apps, being ghosted, or asked to do questionable things with their date’s feet. She has the unique ability to just know when two people are perfect for each other. There’s only ever been one person she hasn’t been able to match—herself. And that’s fine with her. She’s never wanted to settle down anyway. Or at least that’s what she tells herself when she runs into her recently divorced high school sweetheart in her new town of Premonition Pointe.
Marion doesn’t have time to worry about her own dating life, anyway. She has a new business to set up, a reputation to prove, and an annoying ghost to shake. But when Marion’s new client turns out to be matched with her mortal enemy, Marion has her work cut out for her. She’ll need to uncover a decade’s old mystery to get the two star-crossed lovers in each other’s arms or else she’s in danger of losing her new business… and the budding connection to her first love. With the help of her newly acquired ghost, the Premonition Pointe coven, and the man who keeps asking her out, just maybe Marion will solve the mystery, save her business, and make a love connection she never thought she’d find.
Deanna is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn't writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, making glass beads, or out hocking her wares at various bead shows across the country. For more information and updates on newest releases visit her blog at www.deannachase.com.
Star-Crossed Witch by Deanna Chase is her new paranormal women's fiction series. A spin-off from her Premonition Pointe paranormal women's series it was lovely to see some of the characters from the original series and to meet Marion Matched. Romance, witchcraft, curses, humor, and a little suspense curses keep this story moving until the end. I was thrilled to be back in Premonition Pointe.

Their blurb that caught my eye: When it comes to dating, Marion Matched has seen it all. She’s the witch people call when they’re fed up with unsolicited d*ck pics, being ghosted, or asked to do questionable things with their date’s feet. She has the unique ability to just know when two people are perfect for each other.
Another reviewer rated it low due to unexpected 🌶 so thanks GR reader...I was sold and this is why I always read 3* & under reviews when considering new reads they tend to list dislikes and are easier for me to find things imma want 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Star-Crossed Witch by Deanna Chase is the debut of the Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency series. It is a spin-off of the Premonition Pointe series. Deanna Chase has an engaging writing style that draws the reader right into the story. There is an eclectic group of characters beginning with Marion Matched. Her ability to see auras tells her who is compatible and who is not. Marion is hoping that moving her business to Premonition Pointe is not a mistake. She has an excellent track record in matching her clients. The only person Marion has not been able to find a match for is herself. Marion was interested in one man, but she ended up letting him go. He is now divorced and living in Premonition Pointe. The chemistry between them is as strong as ever. Marion has a social media influencer as a new client who could make or break her agency. Her father shows up needing a place to stay. It seems dear old dad has ghosted another girlfriend. If only he would take Marion’s advice instead of continually picking the wrong women. Marion also has a ghost who is determined to work for Miss Matched. The often inappropriate ghost would like a match of her own (for payment for her services). Marion’s launch party is going well until the unthinkable happens. Marion has her work cut out for her if she is going to make a success of her business. Star-Crossed Witch has plenty of hilarity especially if you like risqué comments. I admit that I do not find that type of humor appealing, nor did I like the significant amount of foul language. The characters from the Premonition Pointe series (Grace, Iris, Hope, Joy, Gigi, and Carly) are in the book. However, you do not need to read the Premonition Pointe series before embarking on Star-Crossed Witch. There is plenty of magic as the coven is needed to help with a few problems. If you are a fan of the Premonition Pointe series, you will want to read Star-Crossed Witch. Star-Crossed Witch has Marion making magical matches plus a salacious spirit, analyzing auras, an unpredicted conflagration, a shocking spell, a social media sweetheart, and a father fiasco.
This was an audio review. I absolutely loved the first book in this new series. Loved the new characters and old characters from the Premonition Pointe! The story kept me guessing until the very end. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I don't know why I started a new series that isn't complete. Not that I don't love reading these books, but I'm a chronic binge reader and was a bit upset to realize this isn't a completed series. Oh well, I'll just add it to the list of books I'm waiting for. I really enjoy this author's work and enjoyed this book quite a bit. The characters are interesting and the story is well written. it moves at an even pace. The romance is sweet and a bit spicy.
The MV, Marion, is a witch but her only power is being able to see auras and being able to match people up with their potential mates based on the colors of their auras. She's part of a coven and the other witches have their own powers. She has a business partner, Iris, and a ghost, Celia, who insists on being part of the business and on Marion finding her a ghost man. Side characters include the 5 witches who make up the coven, an former boyfriend who still pines after Marion, Marion's father, her aunt, and Ty - a younger man who she took into her home when his own mother passed even though he was of legal age. He calls Marion Mom. And his partner Kennedy. Also there's the client who plays a big part in this specific story, Lennon. She's a famous influencer who agrees to use Miss Matched, Marion's dating agency and leave reviews because she has thousands of followers. Things happen and adventures ensue. Marion is cursed and it begins to look like she's going to lose her business.
This is a stand alone novel but ends with a teaser that makes you want to jump into the next book. Not an actual cliffhanger, but more of an invitation to come along for another crazy ride.
I read a number of this author's books and truly enjoyed them. The plot and characters in this book were very good. However, there was way too much sexual content: conversation, innuendos, and detailed bedroom scenes. That kind of content is not necessary for a good paranormal mystery. I will not read any more of the series.
And to add insult to injury, the book ended with a cliffhanger. Authors, please note: I will read the next one in the series if I enjoyed this book. A cliffhanger truly annoys me and makes me wonder if I'll have to deal with that with subsequent books in the series. Arghhh!
Amazon synopsis:'When it comes to dating, Marion Matched has seen it all. Marion doesn’t have time to worry about her own dating life, anyway. She has a new business to set up, a reputation to prove, and an annoying ghost to shake. But when Marion hires a social media influencer to document her dating experiences with the agency, a vicious curse turns every date into a nightmare. Sabotaged and in danger of losing her new business, Marion will need the help of her newly acquired ghost, the Premonition Pointe coven, and the man who keeps asking her out to save her dating agency… and just maybe make a love connection she never thought she’d find.
I love the PWF Premonition Pointe witches, and twisting it into a new Miss Matched Dating Agency branch is brilliant. Some of the twists & turns of the dating fiasco in this book was a bit predictable, but Chase keeps you on your toes questioning why till the very end. There are plenty of opportunities for other plots featuring more characters while keeping with the dating agency theme; and I’m excited to see where else it will lead. And more spice has been added = yum!
Took advantage of a free book Amazon/Kindle offer and read this book knowing nothing about it. Matchmaker/Witch sets up an influencer as a PR stunt. Things go awry. Meanwhile, she juggles a dating life, Terri “sons”, her live-in father, and a random ghost (whom I never really enjoyed) that appears.
After reading some reviews since finishing the book, I see that this connects to a previous serious. This explains why I often felt like references were made and characters discussed without any/much explanation or background.
Given this is a light read, I carried on well enough, but the ending really sealed my 2-star rating—I mean WAS there one? All I could make of it was a half-baked attempt at the least bit of closure or presumption that the reader was planning on reading the next book in the series. I won’t be—but others who are familiar with the previous series might…maybe?
Star-crossed Witch is the start of a spin-off series from Deanna Chase's other paranormal women's fiction series, Premonition Pointe. It stars the newest member of the coven, Marion Matched, and her new business (wait for it!) Miss Matched Dating Agency. Even if Deanna Chase wasn't on my Must Read shelf, I would have pre-ordered this book based on the name of this agency alone. It hinted of hilarious good times in my favorite Nor-Cal coastal town Premonition Pointe! And it certainly didn't disappoint! Deanna Chase has one of the most inventive imaginations and the world she has created in Premonition Pointe is a delightful example of Deanna's prowess. Her writing, sucks you in to this magical community from page one and you never want to leave! In fact, as a native Californian I find myself looking for my Premonition Pointe, every time I drive up and down the coastal highway! Her brilliant descriptions of the town and its people are magical. It's like looking at a picture in a gallery and suddenly finding yourself there participating in the lives and events of the community! Masterful! Then there are the characters. I mean Marion Matched, is perfect as magical matchmaker! I love how Marion is not a twenty something gullible college graduate. In keeping with the genre, Marion is a successful mature business woman, hoping to bring her successful business to a new town. The support characters include the coven of Premonition Pointe of course. The friendship and love shared by these women is awe inspiring and something I can relate to. Ride or die friends who have your back always make this story precious. But as usual the other support characters add the laugh out loud moments to the plot. The ghost that haunts Marion demanding a job in exchange for a match with a ghostly hottie of her own, stirs up some uproarious moments throughout the story. Add in Marion's feisty, elder aunt and the comic relief is off the charts. Of course, paranormal women's fiction would not be complete without the midlife love interest, in Star-crossed Witch, it is Marion's own star-crossed past love , Jax that provides the intense sexual tension you can feel steamy up your Kindle! How is it that such a talented matchmaker, whose magic includes knowing immediately what couples are meant to be, fail to see her own soulmate when he is right in front of her? Anyway, there is the usual steamy love scenes but again I appreciate that Deanna's writing displays sensitivity to the issues that concern us women of a certain age. Intimate relationships for men and women in mid-life are not the same wild monkey sex of our youth. But having your 70- something aunt demonstrate how to use a penis pump, can cause some real laugh out load moments. Certainly, Aunt Lucy, will clear away any lingering doubts you may have about sex after menopause! It's not all love and games as there is a magical enemy on the loose in Premonition. This mysterious witch or wizard must be caught if Marion is ever to get her happily ever after. So if you are on the edge of your seat wondering just what mischief evil magic causes for Marion and her friends, pick-up Deanna's Chase Star-crossed Witch. If you are a women no longer as young as you used to be but your still not ready to spend your days rocking on your porch, pick up Star-crossed Witch. The latest addition to the paranormal women's fiction genre is a hilarious romp of love ,laughter and adventure in a romantic oceanside setting. And just in case you haven't read the previous Premonition Pointe series, "RUN, Don't Walk!" , to your favorite retailer. You won't be disappointed!
Deanna Chase returns to Premonition Pointe with Star-Crossed Witch, the first book in her new series. Marion Matched had a successful matchmaking business in Los Angeles, but now she wants to swift the focus of her business to helping middle-aged witches find their true loves. So she’s opening a new business in Premonition Pointe. At first, Marion believes her new life is off to a great start. She’s found a great group of new friends in the Premonition Pointe coven. A prominent social media influencer has agreed to a deal to promote the Miss Matched Middle-Aged Dating Agency. Sure, Marion’s long-lost first love (who she’s never gotten over) is in town, and her dad shows up unexpectedly after a break-up with yet another unsuitable girlfriend, but overall, Marion’s feeling good about life. Then the night of her new agency’s first event, a fire breaks out during the mixer. And everything is downhill from there. The social media influencer’s dates are disasters. The paparazzi splashes Marion’s personal life all over the news. New clients start demanding refunds. Marion quickly learns that she has been cursed, but she has no idea who would want to sabotage her new business. But someone is out to get her, and soon that person starts using the people that Marion loves the most to get to her. If she can’t identify the person behind the curse, Marion could lose everything that she holds dear.
Star-Cross Witch starts off a whole new series, but honestly, at this point, it just feels like another book in the Premonition Pointe series. While Ms. Chase does introduce several new characters, the coven members from the first series play a huge role in this book. And, like several of the books in the original series, this book still has a curse driving the plot. I did enjoy the curse plot line more in this book than I did in the last couple of Premonition Pointe books though. The major difference between the two series so far is that the new series is told in the first person rather the third person like the original series. I’m interested to see how Ms. Chase moves forward with this series to make it stand out as a separate entity from the Premonition Pointe series.
I did enjoy the relationships in this book. Marion’s relationship with her surrogate son is particularly touching. Ms. Chase does an excellent job conveying the genuine love between Marion and Ty and using their relationship to show that family is often who choose, not the family you’re born into. I’m hoping to see more of Ty in future novels. I also appreciated the relationship between Marion and her dad. She obviously loves her dad very much and wants him to be happy. But the end of his marriage has left him unwilling to pursue a relationship that actually has a future. Marion sees the mistakes that her dad is making in love, but she can’t see that she’s doing the same thing in her own life. I found this to be an especially realistic aspect of Marion’s life and made her a relatable character.
I received an ARC of this novel from the author, but that did not influence my review
Edit: just found out: This really was a spin off like I suspected. I just hate that if it isn't said clearly in description: if you like to read this, read other novels first. _ _ _
The idea was nice and I liked that FMC wasn't a helpless fragile maiden or evil "pick me" snowflake. There was a mystery in plot: too many accidents happens to FMC and she finds that someone is trying to stop her, but no idea who and why. There was sweet idea for second change romance with highschool sweethearth and strong indipendent woman building her career, story was spiced a bit paranormal mystery case and sexual tension. Lots of blanks from which to build an interesting story. But the story had weaknesses: too many names and characters without proper introduction and backstory. Even the main character's background was told far too thinly. The world wasn't introduced at all: apparently the modern world is full of witches who are openly witches. But the world or magical system wasn't opened up at all. It felt like jumping into the middle of the series instead of part 1.
This story had potential. There was interesting characters, unfortunately they were too superficially presented. And a lots and lots of characters that were just names that were hard to remember, I wasn't sure who was who and what kind of personalities they have. I can't believe this was a stand alone or really the first book in the series. Felt like a Spin off?
The main characters breakup at the time and being 20 years apart felt silly when there was no real reason for it. FMC's father's romantic life: he didn't seem like any sensible woman would be interested in him. So FMC's acquaintance's romantic interest for him felt unnatural. FMC's father seemed like someone a nice woman wouldn't touch with a long stick. FMC's stepson and his friends were lovely. FMC's friends felt like superficial, hard to say anything about them. MC's life was left almost completely unintroduced, the character was left hollow: no information about his family, friends, interests, or really anything.
This was a pretty heartwarming read, though. It had potential to be excellent, now it was only "ok, probably won't remember this after a year".
Didn't like gliffhanger in this book. I don't mind them always, but there it was a bit forced.
I had such a blast with Star-Crossed Witch that I haven’t stopped smiling since I finished the final page. Marion’s story is the start of the Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency series, which in turn, is a spin-off of the Premonition Pointe series (part of the original Fab 13 releases) that kicked off the PWF, Paranormal Women’s Fiction genre. I mention this because we’ll run into some familiar faces from the Premonition Pointe series in this first book. It gives you an idea of what you’re diving into if you’ve already read that first series… or something to go back and pick up now.
While most of what you’d want to know about Star-Crossed Witch can be found in the Cover Description, what you won’t find there are the emotions, the laughter, the anger, and the connections all of these characters have with each other… well, except for the villain, and there is a vile villain to be dealt with. I could easily envision each scene as it played out and when I wasn’t laughing I was seething at the actions of a nasty piece of work. I loved not only Marion but Jax as well, something about second chances always draws me in until the happy ending can be found. I adored our resident matchmaking, mischief-filled ghost who only wants her own match to be found somehow in the afterlife. And new, as well, as familiar faces to round out a cast of enjoyable, relatable characters for this kind of cozy mystery in the PWF world.
There is laughter and there is danger in this story, some steamy moments, and lots of tension-filled ones as well. I admit that I gave the actual culprit only a moment’s consideration, so the hide it in plain sight factor was there as well. I had fun, and to me, that is one of the most important parts… if you create a world that I cannot wait to visit again, then you’ve got me hooked on a series. And I am definitely in need of knowing more about the Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency world. If that’s what draws you into a story, then Star-Crossed Witch is a perfect match for you.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Marion Matched had a successful match-making business in Los Angeles. Using to her aura-reading abilities, she can see when someone is with their "perfect match." But, one can only set up older white men with women half their age for so long without getting cynical, so she decides to set up shop in Preminition Point. Hiring an Instagram Influencer who specializes in disastrous dates, Marion finds her a few potential suitors. Unfortunately, disaster strikes at Marion's first mixer, when her own father accidentally sets fire to the place. As the disasters pile up, is there something more sinister involved?
This series is a spin-off the of the Preminition Point series, by Ms. Chase. However, you don't have to read that series first. Although, if you do, it is like coming home to a bunch of friends! Since I loved the characters in that series, it was awesome to see how the coven has grown in power, confidence and friendship. Writing characters that you wish you had in your life, has always been Ms. Chase's strong-suit and this series is not exception!
I am also enthused that Ms. Chase has added an under-sexed ghost assistant, who agrees to work for Marion in return for a match of her own. Celia is hilarious! (Think a younger version of Ida Mae from the Piper Rayne Series- boy the trouble those two could get into!). Add in Aunt Lucy, who is savage and holds an impromptu class on the proper use of "penis pumps" within minutes of entering the tale and you have a world that I will gladly jump into with both feet!
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved Marion and Jax's story and the Miss Matched Dating Agency! The fact that it has some of the characters from the Premonition Pointe novels is a plus. The biggest roadblock for Marion and Jax is Marion herself. What does a woman afraid of love do when it is right in front of her face? Well, you have to read to find out!
The mystery in this book is as incredible as the romance and the characters. I thought I knew who was doing it twice. I was wrong both times. The second person I thought it was I thought until the very second I read the name of the real bad person.
Deanna weaves a social media influencer into the fray in a sensational way, and of course the Premonition Pointe coven has a role to play in this book. And where would a Deanna Chase book be without some family or pseudo family? That where Ty and Kennedy come in. Ty is the son of Marion's best friend who died when he was 18 years old and Marion took in as her own. He has his own story in the book, which is often the case in these books. It's just fantastic world building.
Finally, I was ready to pre-order the next book by the middle of this one, but when I got to the very end of this book, it was a no-brainer to go right to Amazon and pre-order it. I actually pre-ordered the next two. Deanna sets up the mystery for the next book perfectly. In most of the books, the next book is set up in the last chapter, but it is usually a new romance. The next one in this books is another mystery and I cannot wait to read it.
I absolutely loved Star Crossed Witch the newest series that is set in Premonition Pointe in the Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency novels. It is always so rewarding when the author does more than give a mere nod to the previous characters in a location and in this new spinoff series not only do they interact they are still dominant core characters. Our newest main couple are Marion Matched that has found a wonderful way to put her ability to see auras to use and Jax Williams, her heart throb from high school, who now that he has found her again will be working overtime to convince her they are meant to be together. This book is marvelously written, and while I was surprised at the mature nature and very graphic and explicit content and language than many of her other books, but in my opinion it only lends credence to the validity of the characters and as is the usual with Deanna Chase books, she takes hard life issues and inserts them into her tales in such a way as to bring life to her characters and their stories. The world building is so well done that before you know it, you are there, experiencing everything with them and before I forget, just reading this book will make you so hungry from so many delicious foods described. I loved the deeply dramatic mixed with the raunchy comedic relief of a certain ghost that I will not be giving spoilers to, but I will say that it appears that Premonition Pointe is in for a lot of fun to go with their disasters and dramas. I can't wait for the next release!
Welcome back to Premonition Point but with a new character and series! Deanna Chase did not disappoint with this book....she even went beyond her normal...but I will let you figure out what that is...if you read Deanna's books you will pick it out when it happens.
I loved everything about this book...love, romance, hilarity, mystery. Deanna has a way of captivating you from the first pages until the end. The story flowed and kept me reading. If life didn't interrupt I would have finished it in one sitting...I highly recommend this book if you like the paranormal and witches.
Marion Match is setting up a dating agency to place couples together with her unique ability...what is that ability you ask? Well I am NOT one to give the story away so trust me you will have to read the book to find out. But things don't always go the way they should and Marion has to call on her Coven (the witches from Premonition Point series) to help her. It's nice to see the gang back and helping where they are needed.
I laughed quite a bit especially with the ghost who reminds me so much of another ghost in another one of Deanna's series. Also Aunt Lucy was hilarious once she joined the story... Highly recommend all of Deanna's books and this one fits right in!
Thank you to Deanna Chase for allowing me to read a digital ARC of this book for an honest review...these are my words and my words alone!
Miss Matched Midlife Dating Agency always gets the match right. Marion Matched has proven time and again that she can find your soul mate for you. She just knows when two people are right for each other. She is too busy, however, to think about her own love life with her new business needing her attention.
Hiring a social media influencer to help grow the business, a curse starts to sabotage each date. Can Marion get help from Celia the ghost (who demanded a job in return for Marion finding her a ghostly boyfriend) or the Premonition Pointe’s coven, where she is a member? Could a voodoo doll point somehow to the person who cursed her? The ladies insisted the curse is permanent, or at least they didn’t have the power to break it. But something has to be done! Because if she doesn’t act soon, she will lose her dating agency.
I loved watching Marion’s friends jump in to help her figure this out. There were so many things going on, but they kept at it. Will they find the person causing all this havoc? Will they find out why this is happening to Marion? Grab your copy and find out just what is going on! And will it get resolved in time to save her Dating Agency?
We're back in Premonition Pointe with a matchmaking witch who's dealing with a WHOLE LOT of stuff. Seriously. Marion has quite a bit on her plate and things only get stickier when her current client keeps getting hit with really AWFUL dates. Seeing as how her agency set up said dates, Marion's entire business could be on the line if she doesn't turn things around.
To make things even more complicated, her high school sweetheart has fallen back into her life and she's fighting her feelings for him (because a matchmaker isn't good at finding matches for herself!), her dad is continuing his streak of self-destructive dating, and the ghost hanging around her agency has a very different view of appropriate business behavior than Marion does.
In other words, it's just another day in Premonition Pointe.
Some familiar faces (the coven!), a few spectacularly bad dates, a whole lot of family, and the potential rekindling of a relationship that has Marion kind of freaking out (in a good way. Mostly.). GOOD STUFF.
So, this book is the first in a new series that is set in Premonition Pointe. I love that the original members of the previous series is in this book as well as the main character, Marion Matched. Marion fits right in with the other coven members and is opening her new dating agency. She runs into a past love named Jax who still has feelings for her. After the first mixer she has, everything that can go wrong does. She needs to find out who is targeting and why before it ruins not only her business but also the potential for her and Jax to rekindle their romance.
This book was so good! I am a big fan of Deanna Chase and the books she writes. She did an outstanding job writing this series. It definitely is a page turner and really hard to put down. You don’t have to read the previous series in order to enjoy this one but it will help you to understand who is who and what their owns stories are. I really look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Marion Matched is using her ability to see auras to start her dating agency. She can see if two people are a match simply by viewing their auras. Vibrant purple means the two are a strong match. Working with her assistant (and Premonition Point Coven Member) Iris Hartsen, she enlists a popular online celebrity, Lenon Love, to go on a few dates and post her experiences online. Things don't go exactly as planned when at one of her parties, Marion is cursed. As the coven works to determine who cursed her, Marion's ability to see auras has been tainted by it. In addition to that, her father has shown up at her doorstep to "stay for a while". The curse also affects Lenon's dates and turns them into disasters. Seeing her dating agency go up in flames, her father dating everyone in town by the one right for him, and trying to avoid her lifellong feelings for her highschool sweethear, Marion has her hands full! She needs to get to the bottom of the curse, before friends are hurt, or possibly killed.
First book I’ve read in this series. I enjoyed this overall but won’t remember it next week. Took a while to finish it as I kept putting it down. Ends with the curse still in action. Marion comes across as controlling and needs therapy about parental issues. The Dad situation is also a bit weird. I just couldn’t understand their dynamic. A few times I thought it went sideways and off track with the sheer amount of characters and situations. I did like the adoptive son and his boyfriend scenario, that was so sweet and supportive. Celia the ghost was funny at times and obnoxious at others. The ex-flame part with Jax was simple and this is where I thought Marion controlling . SHE decided years ago that Jax needed someone better than her. And again nowadays, she says and acts the same. Making decisions about who he should date and be with. The fact his marriage ended in divorce shows she’s not correct in her matchmaking. The baddie ended up a bit obvious, but I didn’t really get a clear picture of why. Seems to continue in next book but I’m not invested in these people.
What a cute read! I really am not a romance reader but I'm a sucker for paranormal elements especially when it's more of an everyday normal sort of thing. I bought this book on a whim after trying a sample. I loved how simple it was written. The conversations and characters were actually believable! The main character completely relatable and her thought process actually makes sense! I feel that these are things romance novels have specifically let me down in and this one really didn't. The story was well paced and even though the mystery part was almost in the background it kind of worked in the story. The focus is very clearly this woman trying to hold herself, her business, and her family together. As a regular mystery reader, I found myself not minding that at all surprisingly. I'm absolutely continuing the series!
Highly recommend this book to anyone that would like a quick easy read about witches, love, and all things that surround them 😊
OK, this book got me in the feels. This is the first book in a new series by this author. It does take place in an “old” world (Premonition Pointe), and we do get to see old faces. I love Marion and her job, and this book is a wild ride with her trying to make a name for herself in her new town, get her dad’s love-life on the right track, and keep her old flame at arm’s distance. I love that she isn’t a spring chicken anymore, and that doesn’t mean she can’t find love. This is filled with romance, hilarity, love, and tears. If you need a book to warm your heart, this is definitely the one. I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with Marion’s next job! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Marion and the coven plus and old flame New life. New town. New business. Maybe an old love? She's always used the ability to see auras to determine if a couple is a good match. Now she's going to use that ability to match people and make a living. Getting started she uses a popular social media local citizen to help advertise. Setting her up could be the best or the worst idea. It might have been the former if a curse hadn't gotten in the way. This is a bang-up start to a new series spin-off in Premonition Pointe. Lots of old friends, new friends, a persistent ghost, a new "adopted" son, and so many more. Throw in a curse, danger, some steam, and a great storyline, and you have a book that just keeps you reading. I can't wait for more.
Who would have thought that matchmaking is so hard!! When Marion Matched launched her new matchmaking business only to see if go up in flames! Oh this was a fun story to get lost in! I enjoyed visiting Premonition Pointe and seeing all of the characters again. Marion story is a whirlwind and bless her hear she just can’t catch a break!! I really enjoyed how it had a bit more of a magical element to it and I hope it continues on with the series. The love story is so cute and there’s a bit of spicy scenes to keep the reader engaged. The narrator Gabra Zachman is fantastic. She has a pleasant voice and the variety of tones and inflections used were great! I can’t wait to see the next couple.
Book 1 in a brand new series. Love how Deanna Chase always knows how to grab the listener attention. Deanna wrote a very detailed story with great description . This story takes place in Premonition Point but with a twist . It has its funny moments, and suspense . The heroine is Marion Match. Marion has an idea of how to help people get together. Her plan is to help them become couples with her talent . Things really take off when an old flame of Marion shows up , Jax . Jax shows he still desires and has feelings for Marion . When strange things start to happen to Marion Jax wants to step in and help solve the mystery.
Gabra Zackman Performance was spot on . She it the tones right on
The book was nice, but not my favorite amongst the Deanna Chase books. I didn't dislike the main character but I didn't connect with her as much as I have with some other characters. I also just wasn't that into the main plot, especially once we found out who did it and why. I really liked the main character's relationship with her unofficial son. He is the son of her best friend and his mom died when he was 18. He didn't need money, but he needed emotional support and a parental figure, so Marion (the main character) took him in and they both helped each other through their grief. Their relationship is beautiful. My favorite part of the book is when Marion explains her pov on the definition of true (inner) strength.
