It was a rough start for me with Sincere and Aurora. I didn't quite follow the introduction of them and the story didn't flow very well to me. But the storyline had me very intrigued. By about 20% in things heated up tremendously and I had a little whiplash at the turn of events. The more I read, the more I understood. Zahara is a new to me author and I can honestly say she k ow how to weave a good story together. I was not expecting to be as hooked as I was. I still feel like there's more I need to know about both Beauty and King. That relationship kind of came out of left field, but it was very entertaining. I'm so glad book 2 is out so I can see what happens next.
I know good and dang on well she didn’t just end this book like that! This book stressed me all the way out! I need for both of the to get they ish together at this point. And she needs to come up off of part 2 sensational
I came for the Kink & got so much more. I’ma be honest I came to see what the rope play was hitting for—& it is HITTING. But King and Beauty are so complicatedly beautiful together as they “use” each other as an escape.
This is a cliffhanger so ima head out so I can get into book two.
Well, well, well. What a pleasant surprise "The B Side" turned out to be. I bumped this book up on my reading list at the behest of my cousin who vouched for it and encouraged me to read. And she's a tough cookie to crack, she doesn't like ANYTHING...so if she's saying something is good and that I should read it, I listen.
Now i'm not going to lie...the first few chapters of this book, I was doubting my cousins taste and recommendation. The book just wasn't giving what I thought it should be giving...But I pushed through, and boy and I glad I did because BAYYYYBEEEE!!! Like I said before, pleasantly surprised.
I went from having to force myself to continue to pick up the book, to taking every opportunity I could to read bits and pieces of it throughout my VERY busy work day. Once the story picked up and Rory and Sin are finally in one anothers orbit, it was like I was getting addicted right along with them.
Sin is hard to get a read on initially and so I coudln't tell in the beginning if I was going to like him let alone if I would ilke the two of them together. But in retrospect, I think thats by design. I think we aren't meant to really SEE Sin until he's ready for us to, and even when he's ready, we still only get a small peek behind the mask. But i'll take it!!! I'll take whatever peeks I can get. SIGN ME UP! I am all in!
This book is sexy and engrossing, these characters are intense and endearing. I don't have much else to say besides that...I really just want to be done with laying down my thoughts so I can pick up the next book and see what the hell is going to happen and how Sin is going to FIX THIS SHIT!
All I can say is ..this book is so damn good! I love Sin so much. I enjoy books about black men and BDMS. I love seeing more authors explore this realm of sexuality and relationships with black folks. Rory is so many of us, not feeling like most women, or even feel like we belong. This story was a slow burn, but baby when it got hot, it didn’t stop burning. I pray there is a book two, because listen!!! I gotta know what’s next!
Uggghhh. I absolutely dislike books that have cliffhanger endings like this, without warning. At least I would know to avoid it if pre-warned. Great characters, nice continuation from the erotique noir collection but I was invested in getting resolution. The ending negates all the good that came in the book. Getting to the climax with no satisfaction. Nobody likes that, well, I don’t. If not for the ending I’d probably rate it a 4 or 5.
Rory was a beautifully complex character. When mother thinks she knows best but is unable to read the room. Lee is selfish and only looking out for his career. Sin was well on his way with his talents and skills. Mara allowed herself to be influenced by family and it did not end well. Quite a coincidence that Rory and Sin would become neighbors. The gift that Sin gave Rory is one that fantasies are made of. The arrangement of what they had would have ended well if it were based on truth.
Whew this is so juicy! A part of me feels bad for Rory because she just wants to be loved and it just seems like it’s not in the cards for her. I’m hoping she gets the closure from her family that she needs but I’m also crossing my fingers that Sin is able to make it right. Really good story so far and I’m anxious for part 2
I read this cuz ppl were talking abt having more Subaru in black romance and I will say that it was god and interesting but I think my main issue was the fact he had a literal child he ran away from for months like it wasn’t cute to me at all. Also the random povs of other people were unnecessary in my opinion.
This one was good but really did it end like that? Is there going to be a part 2? I am left with so many questions and I need answers ASAP please let me know if there will be a part 2
The connection between these characters if only the spoke their truths to each other. I want to kick Kaz behind with her scheming trying to come up behind. Can't belief the way this ended. Where the hell is part 2?
Wow!! 🤯 I was not expecting for things to unfold the way they did. This was one heck of a story!! I can’t wait for part two because I know it’ll be good! I recommend this read, just hold onto your seats 💖
I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. The characters were relatable and interesting enough to make you want to know more. The storyline line flowed and kept you eager for the turn of the page. Can't wait for Part 2!
Whew hunny!!! I really enjoyed this read...Sin Sin Sin....my heart my breaks for Rory she's been dealt a rough hand but I got a good feeling this thing between them us going to come full circle... This is my first read by this author and definitely not my last
Is there going to be a part 2?!?!? There's no way she can leave us hanging like this. This story is incomplete. I need Kaz to get what's coming to her and I need Sin to get Rory back, tell her the truth and make her whole!
The story is a lot. I almost dnf’d cuz no way a Dom would make some of the decisions Sincere did. But he did just go through a traumatic time in his life. It’s mildly understandable. Hopefully this gets turned around.
So flabbergasted, like this was some hot s***! Kaz'mere should have got them hands....I'll wait. Assuming is a muther.... Now what?!.... She a runner......
When I started this book I thought I knew what I was in for… thought I had it all figured out! As it turns out, I had absolutely no clue as to what I was walking into!
The cast of characters Zahara put together for this book came with so many twist and turns that I literally could not stop reading until I hit the end!
My emotions stayed caught between I hate these people surrounding Rory & Sin and would like to fight their fictional behinds in the street and feeling like I would be arrested for voyeurism after getting to know the REAL SIN aka B-Side aka King and seeing what he was capable of.
I’m super pressed for the next part of this story because the ending broke my heart and I’m just praying the author makes it right!
My name is K Sherrie and I recommend this read! 💦💦💦💦💦
