Hi my name is Katie, I’m an indie author who lives in the sunny state of Florida. When I’m not working or spending time with my family, I enjoy getting lost in a good book. My favorite hobby is gardening, whether it is edible or decorative. In my opinion one can never have too many flowers! I may have a slight addiction to creating things in Procreate and Canva.
This was a fun first installment in the immortal guardians series. Sierra is a normal eighteen year old girl who is visited by a guy, Dante, in her dreams. Dante claims that they are soul mates and tells Sierra that her parents are hiding things from her, but that more would soon be revealed.
Sierra eventually begins to learn about what she truly is as she prepares to take on Excalibur and save those she loves most. The story was intriguing and I enjoyed learning more about the immortal guardians and following Sierra and Dante's story. The romance was very sweet and the world is unique. I always love a unique plot line or world! The high council rules the world of immortal guardians and I'm super excited to learn more about how that all works.
Two things kept me from giving give stars. First, it was almost insta-love between Dante and Sierra, and it didn't feel like their relationship grew organically. It went from them not knowing each other to being in love super quickly for me, so I hope to see their relationship grow more in book 2. Second, I was disappointed that we didn't get more of the story, it seems like we had lots of build up and then it just ended mid story. However, this will be a series so I'm sure book 2 will be action packed!
Overall, I really enjoyed this read and will definitely pick up book 2!
This book is such a heartwarmingly beautiful love story with some action and suspense. It’s the first book of the Immortal Guardians Series and it’s an interesting read with very intelligible language and detailed descriptions. The author has done an outstanding job at writing down the details; they are intricate, comprehensive and riveting. It’s a tale of two lovers who are destined to be together as it’s their fate. Dante is an immortal guardian who protects humans from evil supernatural creatures such as demons, witches, dark immortals, vampires and fairies. He’s also a dream-walker so he often sneaks into Sierra’s dreams but erases her memories later on. While Sierra is a human (yet to be immortal) and is anima gamelli (soulmate) of Dante but she doesn’t know as her parents hid this from her. She’ll automatically transition into an immortal at 20 but she can choose to become an immortal after 18 if she wants to. Sierra was living an ordinary life but her life changed drastically after her 18th birthday as Dante finally introduced himself in her dream without wiping her memory. All the further events that take place in Sierra’s life are like a roller coaster ride; everything happens so suddenly and quickly that it’ll keep you on your toes. Excalibur is an evil immortal who kidnaps Sierra’s parents; which gives Sierra the courage and motivation to transition into an immortal, so she can help save her parents. The relationship between Sierra and Dante is so fascinating; Dante is there with her through everything and he’s even willing to risk his immortal guardian position just to protect Sierra and save her parents. The author has developed the characters very well and constructed a very strong bond between Sierra and Dante. The story is moving and it keeps getting more and more gripping as the journey of Sierra and Dante unfolds. Although the book ended on a cliffhanger, still I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’d love to read the next part of the series. I can’t wait to find out what happens next and how will the fight between Excalibur and Sierra’s family take place. Indeed a very compelling read with lots of exertion and excitement. Love it!
It’s an enjoyable read, giving us the story of Sierra and Dante who are fated. It is intricate, mysterious and delightful. Can’t wait to read what happens next
Sierra Rose Wilson is on the eve of her 18th birthday. Her world is about to change in ways she can't begin to imagine. She dreams of a gorgeous man that claims to be her soulmate. Dante Xavier is an immortal guardian and a dreamwalker. He was told a long time ago by her parents that he could not tell her about what they are. They would tell her when the time came and let her decide if she wanted to transition to become an immortal guardian as well. Until Sierra is told, Dante will have to be content with visiting her in her dreams. He also gave her a protection amulet that allows him to feel her emotions. She's safe, right?
Sierra is living her life but getting more and more despondent about this big secret her parents are keeping from her. The point of guardians is to protect humans from the supernatural. The High Council rules over the guardians in Graystone. On their way to Ireland to visit her Uncle Joe and Aunt Grace. The thing that her parents left Graystone for attacked the plane. Excalibur has been trying to take over Graystone and the High Council for a while. This was his chance. Thankfully Dante was able too save Sierra and get her to her aunt and uncle. Her parents are captured by Excalibur.
Whew, this spun out of control quickly. After the plane crash, everything goes full throttle. Sierra had to be told about the immortals and who Dante was to her. What decision will she make? She has a life and friends in the mortal world. Is she ready to give all of that up? This book ends on a cliffhanger. Readers will be anxiously awaiting the next book in this series.
Dante Xavier is an immortal guardian who protects humans from supernatural creatures such as demons, witches, dark immortals, vampires and fairies who would do them harm. Because he is also a dream-walker, he can visit Sierra in dreams which she will forget when she wakes.
Sierra has been dreaming of a handsome man named Dante. He tells her in this dream that he is a part of her destiny. She is his soulmate. But he can only reach her like this through dreams until she decides for herself who she wants to be. He watches over her and keeps her safe. He places an oval necklace around her neck with an emerald that matches his eyes. It will protect her if he can’t be there. It is powered by his magic and will alert him if she is in danger. He wraps his arms around her, kisses her deeply, and she wakes up back in her bedroom… but still wearing the amulet. And this time, she doesn’t forget the dream.
A plane crash caused by the evil immortal Excalibur makes things even more confusing as Sierra is not sure who the good guys and the bad guys are. But there are people who need to be rescued from wherever he is hiding them. She is ready to accept her destiny and do her part to rescue the captives.
The story will end with a cliffhanger, but it will definitely capture your attention and take you along for the wild ride.
It took me some time and thinking before rating this book and deciding on 3.5⭐
The story is easy to read and relaxing, with not so long chapters. The facts are related from multiple perspectives and I really loved that. It gave a better understanding of each character personality and motives. The friendship relationship between Ema and Sierra is so strong and nicely described.
The world building and chatacters introduction was well written.
But, the love interest between Sierra and Dante is kind of weird for me. I understand the idea of soulmates but the age difference is of at least 100 years. Moreover, Sierra is only 18 and has no experience with love or realtionships.
The paragraph where Dante mentions first meeting Sierra, as a newborn in the hospital, is creepy. Altough the author tries to make it sound normal: "Creepy as it may sound that I was tied to an infant in that way, it wasn’t like that, not until she was older".
The love between Dante and Sierra did not develop and was entirely based on the idea of them being soulmates. A focus on their love story and some chemistry would have helped.
I still don't know what to say about the ending. 🤔
I received this ebook in echange of a honest review.
✨Book Review✨ Title: Destiny Author: Katie Richard My Rating 3.5 ⭐
I received a copy of this book as an ARC. My opinions are my own. Overall, I liked the book. It takes place in a unique world and has a unique plot.i also love the cover. Super beautiful. Something that I found interesting is how all sorts of magical creatures are seeking Sierra out. Very much gives me Percy Jackson vibes with Dante being like her Satyr. Very similar to how Grover was Percy's protector. The relationship between Dante and Sierra was very sweet but I feel kind of meh about it.
The reason why I could not give this book full stars is because of the insta love relationship between Sierra and Dante. I know some people love this but it is just not for me. The relationship just felt very fake, fated, and not organic. The relationship was still very sweet and I hope to see the relationship develop more in later books.

Destiny’ is a heartwarming fantasy romance. This is a fun first installment in the immortal guardians series. Sierra is a normal eighteen year old girl who is visited by a guy, Dante, in her dreams. Dante claims that they are soul mates and tells Sierra that her parents are hiding things from her, but that more would soon be revealed.
This Young Adult fantasy is entertaining right from the start and we get to hear from a different character's perspective throughout the story. This works really well and helps us to understand the world of the Immortals. The love story is spellbinding and innocent.
The author has done an outstanding job at writing down the details; they are intricate, comprehensive and riveting. It’s a tale of two lovers who are fated to be together.
I haven't read a story along the lines of this one. I feel like its X-men meets witches and quardians. I loved the fantasy, superpowers, and a realistic world combined. This allows anything to happen for the rest of the series.
💟 The first installment of a wonderful young adult fantasy series that includes immortals, soul mates, dream walkers, and more expertly woven into a story that will grab your attention from the first chapter and not let it go.
💟 The characters were easily likable and handled the challenges that were thrown their way with behaviors that fit the characters and the story. I enjoyed reading about how Sierra had to come into her own after her 18th birthday and loved how Dante was by her side every step of the way.
💟 Author Katie Richard handled the world of fantasy with the touch of a pro. The unique world building and diverse span of characters we were introduced to as readers was a smashing hit. The plot was moving and I found myself extremely immersed in the story.
💟 I would have given 5 stars if I was able to get into the dialogue more. There were times that the dialogue felt immature and it made it a bit harder for me to get into the moment of the story, but overall, did not distract from the enjoyment of the book.
💟 Overall, it was a quick read! I recommend this book to someone looking for a young adult fantasy read with an entirely new world hidden between the pages and a thirst for adventure!
💟 Tropes: Soul Mates, Fated Mates, Hidden Identity, Immortal Fantasy
This is a story of immoral guardians who possess magical gifts and protect humans from evils the human population knows nothing about.
Around 100 years ago a guardian went rouge. Determined to overthrow the guardian council, he tries to recruit the strongest immorals to his side. When they refuse and turn him in, he goes after their families. Deciding to run for their lives, after the council refuses to help, the immorals hide among the humans.
Sierra is your everyday teenage girl who just turned 18. She has no idea what she wants to do with her life until a mysterious man comes to her in her dreams. She will never be the same again.
This story is told from the POV of nearly all the characters. Giving the reader a glimpse of how everyone is processing the events around them.
The plot is very good, and I enjoyed the basic idea. Though it was rushed in a few places, it was still nicely paced. I did find some errors with it being written in both past tense and present tense. But other than those, I didn't see any glaring errors, which makes me happy as a clam.
I am in enough suspense that I want to read book two! I would recommend this book for a nice light read. I appreciate the chance to read this book for my honest review.
📚Synopsis: When Sierra Walker turned 18 years old, she meets her destined soul mate Dante in a dream and he starts unraveling her past. Before her parents can explain everything they encounter a plane crash and she is now faced with the decision to choose the dangerous life that could rescue her family and saying goodbye to the life she knows forever.
📚Review:
The book started really good. The characters were introduced well and they seemed very interesting. The story is told from the perspective of many of the characters and I actually like this, because it’s different from what I am use to. However, the thought of destiny and soul mates sounded really romantic when I first read the synopsis, but somehow there wasn’t much of love development between the two main characters, Other then just been soulmates and everything happened too quickly. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and the book leaves us at a cliffhanger and I am actually really excited to continue reading the story in the next installment of the Destiny Of Graystone series!
Destiny is a fantasy novel that follows eternal soulmates Sierra and Dante. The story is told from the perspective of many of the characters and love feeling like I'm in the narrator's head the whole time. Sierra had the normal life of an 18-year-old until Dante starts entering her dreams. There's a secret her family's been keeping but things take a quick turn before they get to talk to her about it. Dante is her immortal protector, later lover, and guides her as she quickly is thrown into a new world of witches, warlocks, and immortals. Though Graystone is a whole new world to Sierra, it was refreshing to have some background through Dante's perspective and familiarity with everything. Things are worse than we thought and in the end we see Sierra, Dante, and company gearing up and training for what I'm sure will be an epic battle (hopefully with minimum losses). The book leaves us at a cliffhanger and I can't wait to start the next installment and see where the story goes!
This book is a really good way to start out in the YA fantasy world. It captures witches, vampires, immortals and fairies wonderfully. There's a little romance in there to keep it interesting and I very much enjoyed the POV. Sometimes with one character explaining a story can get boring but with how Katie was able to describe multiple POVs was a job well done. I didn't get lost in who was what and i enjoyed that very much. Sierra is a young adult who isn't aware of her immortality and her parents planned to tell her once they reached Ireland for their yearly vacation with Uncle Joe and Aunt Grace. Suddenly on the plane ride something tragic happens and somehow (no spoilers) she survives leaving her aunt and uncle to explain a whole new world for her. I'm very excited to see how Sierra, Dante and her family and friends defeat Excalibur in her next book Into The Storm! Also lets not forget how gorgeous the book cover is!
‘Destiny’ is a heartwarming fantasy romance centered around two very different characters - Sierra, an 18 year old with no knowledge of her family's past; and Dante, an immortal guardian. It is destiny that Sierra and Dante should be together but when an evil immortal called Excalibur takes Sierra’s parents hostage her whole world is thrown into chaos.
This Young Adult fantasy is entertaining right from the start and we get to hear from a different character's perspective throughout the story. This works really well and helps us to understand the world of the Immortals. The love story between Sierra and Dante is spellbinding and innocent and I am intrigued to see what happens to them in future books. This is the first book in a new series and I feel it’s main purpose was to set the scene and introduce the characters and Greystone. I am interested to see what happens next for Sierra and Dante.
I received a free ebook of this novel. This review is my honest opinion and is written voluntarily.
This book was adorable! I loved it! The world building was so good! I could really picture Graystone in my head and gods is it beautiful! I thought this was a great introductory book into the world of Graystone, Sierra, and the conflict they're facing. Like getting to see Sierra from her humble beginnings to the transition of being the hero of her story was beautiful and it all flowed so nicely! Such a good read and if I didn't have to stop to do things I would have read it in one sitting! Can't wait to read the next book!
This book is an amazing Urban Fantasy with Fated Mates and family secrets. Now understand that it does end a little unresolved but it is a great story of true triumph and a greater level of mature thinking. Sierra is a smart, funny and unique girl who is blindsided by a world she never knew existed. This is a love story with a chase and difficult decisions that could mean life or death. Dante is doing his absolute best to respect her parents wishes but how long can he wait for them to tell her the truth.
This is the first book by Katie I have read and I loved it. Sierra has just turned 18 and she meets Dante in a dream. He tells her there are many things she doesn’t know and that her parents have things to tell her. Dante is an immortal guardian and he protects the humans from all of the things that go bump in the night. When Sierra and her family go to Ireland their plane is taken down by Excalibur who had tried to get Sierra’s family to join his revolution. Sierra has a tough decision to make and that is to go through the transition and become immortal or stay human.
This YA Fantasy is captivating, and the world building is fabulous. It gives different POVs throughout the story, but this allows seeing the growth of characters.
Sierra's 18th birthday is coming up. yet, she starts having someone visit her dreams. Is Dante even real? how does her best friends brother fit into all of this? Have her parents been lying to her this whole time of who/what they are? This cliffhanger left me wanting more; can't wait to read the next book!
this was a wonderfully done fantasy novel and a great start to the series. The characters were what I was looking for and can't wait to read more in this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.
A fantasy romance story with mystery and suspense. The author brings the reader into this new world and keeps the reader engaged with the story. The author writes a spellbinding plot and wonderful characters.

The Destiny of Graystone series is a gripping and imaginative tale of good versus evil and the harrowing path a young woman must travel to discover her own destiny. The plot pulls you in and captures your full attention. There’s so many questions and secrets that progressively reveal themselves. I’ve read the first 2 books in this series and hope there are several more to come. I would definitely recommend this series as an excellent read.
I received this book from Voracious Readers Only. This was the first book that I have read from this author. If you like reading romance and supernatural this book does not disappoint.

A cute start to the series. Just enough information to get you hooked and wanting more.
This is a fantasy story about a girl unaware of what she is due to her parents running and hiding from a devious enemy. Though she gets to meet her soulmate in the dream realm and begins to question her life.
It is cute, sweet at times, and a little thrilling. A perfect blend of things for the YA group.
I am excited to share this book with you guys! Destiny was a great read and I am already waiting for the next book in the series! My favorite part of Katie’s writing is how descriptive she is and all the different points of view she provides. While reading Destiny you not only get to see what Sierra thinks as she goes from only knowing the human realm to also learning about Greystone but what everyone else in the story is thinking as well. One thing that I wish would be added is a perspective of Excalibur but I think that could also cause spoilers so I understand why that was not chosen to be added. I did not have any parts I didn’t love! Sierra and Dante’s blossoming relationship is so cute and refreshing. Seeing how sweet they are together reminds me of the puppy love phase of most relationships. This book is a must read and I absolutely loved it!
I like the concept of this book but did have a little trouble keeping up with everyone. Overall, I give it 3 stars and will read the next book to see what happens next.
A captivating young adult fantasy romance with immersive world building, suspense, and thrilling action. Sierra's discovery of her magical heritage, and her soulmate Dante, brings her seemingly ordinary life into chaos. When an evil warlock tried to overthrow the High Council of Graystone, her family fled to the human world, and never told Sierra about their origins. Circumstances bring Dante and Sierra together and they form an alliance to fight against the evil warlock, and to protect humans and those they love. This is the first book in the Destiny of Graystone series and I can't wait to continue the journey! I received a review copy with no expectation of a review. All opinions are my own.
I liked reading about Destiny and her Dante. Her parents have kept secrets her while life and now she's learning how to live with everything. This book is well written and the characters are likeable. I enjoyed reading it.
I absolutely love books by this author! Sierra is an immortal but grows up as a human — after her parents get taken, she learns of her true identity and has to make a choice if she will proceed with the transition. This was such a GOOD book & I can’t wait to begin book 2!!!
