A brilliant study in American films, focusing on the trauma, memory, and fantasy of the American society as individuals and as a society.

It deals with race, imperialism, and personal traumas through the big blockbusters after the ’80s, and offers a deep and surprising psychological reading through Freud, Lacan, and other important thinkers.

Brilliant book.
