With each new Mason Black novel I am more certain Adam Nicholls has something against his character. The author really does put poor Mason through some awful situations in these books and he’s at it again with Mimicry. The impossible has happened and a dark character from Mason’s past is back from the dead, or is he? This story is a great ‘call-back’ to Mason’s very first adventure and therefore a treat for the fans that have been along for the entire ride. That said, don’t be put off if you’re new to the series and haven’t read the older books as Adam Nicholls makes sure this book works well on it’s own. This is a well written, well plotted, dark novel featuring mayhem and murder with a serial killer bent on revenge with a hero that will give all he has to stop them, even his life.

For Mason, the happy new family situation was too good to last. Now, the killer was re-creating the same murders from 8 years ago, going with the same name as the last batch of kids. The last time, the killer went after his own daughter. And now..? Who was really safe?
The past was coming back to haunt him. The killer would even plan to go after the little girl that escaped his evil plan all those years ago.

A compelling and gritty chase! Too good to put down.

This is book #6 in the Mason Black series. It’s a very well written, fast paced book and the plot is twisted, dark and entertaining. Is it possible that someone from Mason’s past is back from the dead? I was thoroughly hooked by this plot from the first to last page. There are lots of twists and turns, drama and suspense. This is an awesome series. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy from the author*

Revenge from Beyond the Grave.
Mason Black was trying. He had left the force and established a PI firm. Placating his wife with a promise that eventually the cases would be all wayward spouses and neighborly fence fights, Mason was determined to become the husband and father Diane and MJ deserved, no matter the cost.

Another in the fabulous Mason Black Series and definitely no holes barred!
Mason is being taunted by The Lullaby Killer, again!
How can this be, especially after Mason is absolutely certain that he and Bill (his friend and previously his boss in the SFPD) killed and disposed of this vile serial killer’s corpse?
With Mason’s beloved daughter having died at the hands of this evil killer, he had left the force and had become a private investigator, determined to only take cases that did not involve serial killers and in order to keep his wife and son safe.
He and Diane, his wife, were running the Agency together and everything, up until now, had been running smoothly and they were happy.
However, Mason being Mason, could not let this copycat killer continue murdering innocents in the name of The Lullaby Killer.
And, from here on in, the older and much more weary Mason once again sets out to catch the killer.
Were he and Bill mistaken in thinking the killer was dead? Is this a copycat? And will Mason and his family survive this time?
Well, you will have to read this story - and what a story it is.
This young Author truly knows how to keep his readers wanting more!
