Secret Destiny: Origins of Goldsboro

Rate this book
Quinn Perry knows that Goldsboro has thrived since the town's beginnings in 1871 because of its roots in magic; a magic that also protects Goldsboro from a malevolent force.

After Sojo and Mike uncover secrets that send Quinn diving into her family's past, there's only one person she'll turn to for Frederick Douglass Davidson, her best friend since childhood.

Lately, Freddy's been haunted by dreams that he can't remember, so he hopes that helping Quinn will put an end to his nightmares. He certainly didn't expect the nightmares to lead to hot sex with his best friend.

While Quinn and Freddy don't want to ruin their friendship, their desire for each other keeps growing even as they race to save Goldsboro from destruction.

This series is great!!! The characters are strong and the history and the magic of our people is awesome. Each character has their own journey to fulfill. History lessons are given throughout each book. On my way to buy the last book!! I can't wait to see how it all ends!!!

Magic. Perspective. Love

This series is so incredible. It’s a romance and a thriller but it’s also a fantasy. It’s a look at all we lost and all that was taken. It’s a beautiful story of a brilliant possibility. I want to live in and have grown up in a Goldsboro. The mythology is also well done.I still absolutely cannot stand Sojourner’s nickname or how she want she her mother as more than the woman she was. And my least favorite thing about magic and fantasy is all the secrets. Like how Quinn’s mom just wouldn’t speak plainly but that’s personal pet peeve. On to book 3 I can’t wait. Zora and High are about to get in my nerves I can feel it lol

Crazy Good!!

Once again we are thrown into the wonderful imagination of this writer. We get to go on one neck of ride to find clues to save a beloved town and to learn that sometimes you can come home. This was an exciting follow-up to the first story and it keeps that same energy throughout the story. Once again the transition between past and present is done so so smoothly. There are of course some very strong truths in this story and you are going to feel thing ,but the writer handles everything so very well. Once again take a wild ride with the people of Goldsboro.

love it!

A book. I couldn’t put down. Really can’t put none of them down. This was amazing from beginning to end. I love how there was a build up of action in every part of the book especially at the end. Had me on the edge of my bed. L.L. Does an amazing job at telling a story that I can get invested in. Looking forward to more. <3

The power of family and Legacy

This author has allowed me look at our history in America with slavery in a different way. The strength and tenacity that our ancestors had to hold close to fight for not only their lives, but for generations to come. This may be a book of fiction. Story about freedom and justice is real. I love this series.

Definitely a breath of fresh air from Book 1’s protagonist. Great plot and pretty spooky towards the end. I’ll do a full review of the entire series when done😊👍🏾

This story line keeps hitting and hitting. Farmer's imagination is off the charts. I am motivated to believe in greater possibilities
