Make Me Duet #2

Welcome to hell…

Or at least this is what I imagine Hell would be like.

Things are more messed up than they were before and the past that I was running from came back from the grave and caught me.

The men that I had fallen for were not at all what they seemed and I think that hurts more than what I’m going through at the hands of pure evil.

Is this where I die, after everything I’ve fought for?

I guess only time will tell...

This is the second book in the Make Me Duet, it is a Dark Reverse Harem Romance. This means that there will be things in this book that people will find triggering, and it is only intended for people 18+ due to those themes. Plus read the extensive trigger warning at the beginning of the book before diving in. Some themes included violence, torture, assault, and more that will be explained in the content warning section in the book.

Woah.... Just finished the Duet and it has to be my favourite out of all November Sweets' books. I loved Jane/Eve as a FMC. Arlo was still my favourite out of all the guys.
*Can we take a moment to note that I did not see that letter and it's contents coming whatsoever???*
Highly recommend this Duet. I'm really looking forward to reading about Luck, Dare and Chance...

disappointing

Possible spoilers

First I want to start with the book could have been amazing. But I honestly hate books with cheating. It skeeves me out and automatically turns me off the book. I'd have prolly not even picked this series up if I was warned. 😑 Since I wasn't and I read both books I'm going to give me rant\opinion. My most deeply irritating situation about this book would be Fuckhead trying to start relationships while Eve is kidnapped and suffeing but claims to love her. Like who freaking does that?! Then when she had breakdowns mofos were mire worried bout her not wanting their dicks in her and being with them then actually fucking helping her. Then omg arlo... The dude is a damn child. I couldn't handle it. Eve is going through all this shit and trying to be strong but she's also having to sensor herself and being forced to forgive people before she's ready and being forced to focus on someone else's mental health when she herself is struggling. He was selfish as fuck but everyone treated his like a golden egg when he was a damn child. Smh. It wasn't this bad in the first book, but the fact of the matter was while Eve was being tortured he was so whiny that everyone needed to buy him a babysitter, sure he bad some info but they could have gotten that without buying him for arlo. Then he took everything from her. I wss ducking proud of Vince when he told fuckhead no and wanted to focus on her and not what fuckhead was trying to do,which was encroach at the wrong fucking time. I was hoping arlo got killed off after that shot honestly and then hoped fuckhead did too. Without those two it would have been perfect or duck just made them separate from the group because they ruined everything to me. If it weren't for them I would have loved the series but every time they popped up it ruined MT mood and just made me mad.

I got disappointed in this second book in the duet, i loved the first one but this let me down.
There is so much emotions and angst in this, all the characters is having an emotional war. The heroin Jane or Eve / plaything is fighting for her life and when she finally comes back she is not how she was before.
I have really mixed opinions and emotions about the guys, for me it sort of destroyed my feelings when i felt fuckboy / Alaric came into their lil family and took over Jane´s place, like replaced her for him. He was both into Arlo and Vance, i have no problem with two guys also be in love in their relationship but it depends on how you write it all together. I just got really irritated when Arlo and Alaric was building something, he used the same nickname as plaything was using. Meanwhile Plaything was kidnapped and tortured... that was the worst thing. I felt they could have established their relationship maybe in the first one more naturally, like if Alaric loved Jane he wanna join her harem and then he starts being interested or falling for Arlo (and vance) and so on. So the focus in this second book is so not on Alaric and his relationships, if ya know what i mean. That´s the thing, the focus was off from the heroin so much that i felt her not being in the center anymore.
What saved me was jack and how obsessed and protective he was with Jane, he was putting Jane first and would do anything for her. That silver fox
I liked Dimitri more in this one than the first book, he did some growth. Still he struggled with his feelings with jane and how to handle those feels. But he tried his best, cute
Vance, i don´t really know what to say about him. I did not feel that much connection with him, i did like that he said no to fuckboy to focus on Jane instead of building something between each other and do that later. He was just there, i guess. he was alright i guess just battling with doing something more with Alaric.
Alaric in the first one was great i liked him then, bu he said he loved Jane but i did not feel that in his actions. He was not showing that enough in my opinion. I mean what he did, he could have gone down on his knees and said he would do anything to be forgiven or something
Arlo was the sweetest guy and had so much demons that someone had to help him, so i get that Alaric had to go in. But he was also a bit naive. Could Alaric not used another nickname than the nickname Jane came up with?? whyyy
The ending, the heartbreaking news of Mark, i felt Jane/ Eve ´s pain and shock . Even i did not expect that, he is a sick, he is a sick sick psycho man!!! ughh
Happy that she got her HEA tho

With Jane gone, the guys do everything in their power to get her back… when they find out that her best friend is the reason her past found her, they realize that as much as they dislike him, they also need his help.. will they find Jane before it’s too late?

This duet was not what I was expecting It to be. Jane is so strong for going through what she went through and with all of the guys having painful pasts, I think her strength really brought them altogether and softened the harder edges. And I love what she was able to be for sweet Arlo. Even with Alaric’s betrayal, I was glad he could be there for Arlo and form a relationship with him. Without the guys, Jane wouldn’t have been able to find herself again after all her trauma— even though the journey to self healing won’t be easy. Finding out what James brother did to their mother was shocking while at the same time not as shocking as it was- he was clearly a little off. The ending has a perfect HEA/HFN.

First and foremost, I’m so happy with the end results! I love how nothing was “inta love” (this book was better without it, needed true feelings) and I like how the author gave her time to heal but with each man with their terms too. They each show love differently and boy did they show it. The healing process was perfect! And the shmut was SHMUUUUTING!! 🫰🏼overall I would read more books by this author!

ARC REVIEW

Book: Everything (Make Me Duet Book Two,Seduction House World)
Author: November Sweets
Stars: 5/5

This is my honest review for Everything, the second part of the Make Me Duet by November Sweets. This is a RH book filled with twists and turns!

Plaything is such a strong character and even when she feels like she is going to break, her men are they to catch her fall. The character development was amazing in this book and you really got to see how 5 very different men can come together for the one they love. Yes, I said 5! The first book only had four, who is the addition? ;)

The plot twist at the end really had me saying WTF?! What an amazing ending to a great duet. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a dark, sexy RH with a variety of hot alpha men (and Arlo who isn't so alpha, but we love him just as much!).

If you haven't added this book to your TBR, I suggest you do!
If you haven't read the first book "Plaything", I highly suggest reading that as soon as possible!

10. A 10. A fucking 10

1st let's talk about the spice because MM scenes just make me happy. And those are the focus for a while and 🥵🥵🥵🥵 The addition makes it that much more.

My heart broke reading Plaything struggle with her emotions. The desire, betrayal, heart break, hatred, fear and anxiety it's palpable and the way November writes it within it drowinG the book is amazing!

I am throughly now invested in side characters and NEED MORE!

one big family

Everything is the Book Two in the Make Me Duet and it’s amazing. We pick up right where plaything left off, Jane is missing and Arlo is hurt. Oh my heart! Completely broken the first half of this book 💔 just to be fully mended ❤️‍🩹 by the end.

The first half of the book is about Janes kidnapping and the building of Fu€kboys (Alaric) relationship with the guys, especially Arlo, the little bird. While I LOVED seeing Alaric joining the family, I do wish the bond could have been made while Jane was there rather than when she was gone. It seemed more like a betrayal without her there. Either way, the love that bloomed between Arlo and Alaric was swoon worthy and downright 🥰 adorable.

The torture Jane had to endure at the hands of her captors (you need to read to know who!!!) was intense. Plus with the way they know each other, it’s makes you squirm. It was wonderful to see how Jane came back and was beginning to blossom into her new self with the help of her guys. I was surprised to see how quickly intimacy came back into her life with all that she was put through, but Jane has always been a fighter. Getting past the betrayals all around was hard but after forgiving it lead to her happiness and all she deserves.

I do feel like the end of this book was slightly rushed over. I would have loved to read more about the making up between Alaric and Jane, as well as the highly anticipated scene between Jane, Alaric and Vince. I wanted more from this world so I’m kind of hoping a little seed that was mentioned may lead to another book for the Brothers and Minx?!! Please!!?

Overall I would highly recommend this RH duet, and it’s steamy 🌶 🥵 🔥 scenes.

Omg, to say this book frustrated me would be a clear understatement!
The grammar was horrible. There were words that I swear were out of order... meaning, literally, out of order.
Missing "ing, ed, d, s"... omg, just annoying.
I love authors that double, or triple their work, so that we, as readers, do not have to constantly stop to reread what we just read to get a possible understanding of what the author was attempting to say.. and you have to do that alot during this book!
I tried so hard to "get into it" but, I found myself frustrated, or falling asleep constantly!
I want to tell you the rest of it but, really, why bother?
Why should I put in the extra time to explain what else I didn't like about this book, if the author didn't feel it necessary to pay attention to detail?
I will give you one thing... so that if you are going to attempt to read this book...
Get used to the fmc to have no identity at all.
Jane, Eve, Plaything, Mistress... well, the mistress one, I can't fault, it LOOKS like it was used correctly but, the constant use of Plaything and Jane, was pissing me off.
Plaything, to me, is just that. No ID, just a code name... once the mmc's started to humanize her, and call her Jane, they should have stuck with it but, no... they constantly changed it up... over and over... This was actually the main thing that frustrated me.
Also, Arlo... once he started to call her Mistress, he should have stuck with it... not Jane, and not Plaything.
Omg... so tempting to point out the other stuff but, I won't because, well, why should I?

I would have rated this a zero but, the first book, once I managed to control my personal feelings, was somewhat OK to read... so it gets a 1 star overall.

Spoliers-
I enjoyed the first book, but this one was a little bit of a let down. I took a break partial way through this one because the characters felt a bit young and silly. It was very insta love and even the male character who resented her changed his mind after some really rough sex and a cliche kidnapping. I still enjoyed the book to a degree up till 75% then after the 2nd kidnapping from a fire alarm felt irritated because of another cliche and the stupidity of the male characters to lose her again. Further, she had been roughly humiliated and sexually assaulted and she within that day has sex with one of the characters after the first kidnapping. This is a bit of a sore point for me as it has a lack of understanding surrounding sexual abuse often leads to difficulties with sex following an assault. It touched on how she couldn't be Plaything again and affected her confidence but for some reason she had difficulty with the submissive character and not the dominant and aggressive character. I'm aware that everyone is different but considering the perpetrator I would have assumed difficulty with aggressive/dominant characters.
The ending wrapped up quickly and neatly into a bow. But felt rushed considering build up. The villian was disconcerting, but I'm guessing that was the point.

not as good as the first

Spoiler alert

I have to say that although I enjoyed this, it wasn’t as good as the first book. While the author is a talented writer and the series has depth of storyline and characters this book had a couple of problems for me. Firstly the whole book has far too much m/m action, from the idea of it in the first book the first half of this book is all m/m. Our poor MFC has been kidnapped and is being tortured, meanwhile with the exception of Jack and Tri the others seem more intent on each other than worrying about poor Jane!

Then it takes 3 of them to look for Arlo ( who gets more pathetic through each book) whilst knowing that Jane is being hunted. Surprise surprise Jane is kidnapped again! They all declare their love for her however their actions often don’t back it up. They seem more intent, I hate to say it to play “hide the sausage” with each other. Personally I think she should just be with Jack and maybe Tri.

Even with these issues the author writes well and I especially enjoyed the first book. The first book wasn’t rushed and really gave depth to the MFC making the reader become invested. On the whole good storyline well written even if I feel the MFC deserved better.

Although a good book, i had a few issues. The most important one I think was that more than half of the book was about Plaything’s time in the basement. It felt like I was reading but nothing or not much was really happening. At some point it almost seemed repetitive (her thoughts and some of the characters actions). Two, I get that after they got het back she had to heal and all that, but they knew that her sick as fuck brother was out there and planning something, especially after being taunted by Tri’s message, but nobody did anything. They weren’t planning or putting safety measures in place or whatever. That allong with some other things I think should have been logical.
I did thought it was funny that they were planning to have an orgy, with Fuckboy drawing it and everything. Though I think only that scene and the epilogue were kind of interesting.
And I missed madam Syn and Jimmy. Also, I hope there’s a book or series about her story (madam Syn) I’m gonna check that out.
But it was a good story and I kind of liked the ending and I definitely loved the first book, so it’s good in my opinion.

came because of the cliffy, stayed for the conclusion

I did enjoy this duet. I’m not sure I loved the characters as much as I loved the story. I know, I know, there has to be something to drive the story forward, but I swear, these older men acted like sullen teenagers sometimes.

“Calling out for help seems like a stupid idea, but I’m starting to understand why people always do that. Fear makes you do stupid things, like run out of a perfectly safe building because you are afraid the guys that you let into your heart have been lying the whole time.”
— Everything: Make Me Duet Book Two (Seduction House World) by November Sweets

Miscommunication is the name of the game in this duet. Unfounded jealousies. Teenager antics.
But overall, I think it worked. I did love the story and omg, that family member of hers was so so gross. I had Alexa reading this book aloud to me and I gagged a couple times lol.
I’d definitely read this author again.
Will there be a story for Leena? The brothers that lost her were very interesting!

I’m sure this is so cliche but this book was EVERYTHING and the perfect follow up to Plaything! The darkness, the raw emotions everyone is going through trying to get their girl back. Each characters grown not only individually but the relationships between themselves and with their girl. All of them have a very real stubbornness but Plaything brings out their softer side and it’s a real treat. Also can we talk about holy mother plot twist he!! Yes I am here for it and was completely blindside and I love it! When an author can keep you not only engaged while you read but on your toes guessing and still blindside you that is perfection! This is a dark dirty sexy RH romance that is chefs kiss phenomenal and while I love all of our girls men Arlo is has that extra special place in my heart that man right there is is perfection for me! If you haven’t started this duet you absolutely should and start with Plaything first!

T H I S ENDING!

As much as I loved Plaything, Everything took a turn for the darker, and I DEVOURED IT! I was not expecting the bomb that the ending dropped.

Jane finds herself in her own personal nightmare that she never thought could happen after what she did. It's emotional and brutal on both her body and soul, once again eduring the trauma she's been running from. She remains strong, though, knowing the difference between right and wrong, steeling herself for the inevitable and coming to terms with how it will all end. Her only regret is not getting to say goodbye the men she's come to love.

The guys have a different opinion on the matter. Things are rocky between everyone, but they know deep down they won't survive without Jane and are willing to risk whatever necessary to bring her back to them, no matter the cost. There isn't a line they won't cross to bring her home to them and make things right.

“Love, you are stuck with me for the rest of our lives.”

Everything picks up where book one, Plaything, ended. Jane has found herself in her own personal hell with her nightmare that she thought was long gone. All five of her guys fight to help find her and bring her home. I loved the growth of the guys individually and together. Their relationships and bonds strengthened through the tragedy of losing Jane. There were so many secrets that were revealed and the one at the end was a doozy! Was not expecting that at all! Once Jane is back home she has to work through her trauma and her forgiveness of secrets that all of her men kept from her. She stayed strong even in her weakest moments!

There is angst, suspense, betrayal, spice and was so emotional! But, I devoured this book! I couldn’t put it down! I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. If you haven’t read this duet then you need to! This book is very dark so check the trigger warnings!

definitely a good duet!

This duet definitely has a little bit of everything! All the characters had such different and great personalities! The kinks were all good! The sexy parts were done good! The drama was done well! The taboo was twisted yet perfectly done! The laughs, the sad parts, the happy parts, the parts making you hold you breath, it all was so good! My complaints are this: sometimes it felt dragged out, sometimes it felt repetitive on things, and the parts of the side characters we got to read about, such as Syn and Jimmy and his wife and Dare, Chance, and Lucky, yeah it gives you just enough to make you need to know the story about them all!! Come on, how you gonna end it like that with the brothers and not say anything else!? I NEED to know what the heck is going on!! Please tell me there is a story about them!?

I counted down….I prayed for early release…I stalked for an ARC 😂😂

I wanted this book more than anything and I was NOT disappointed. @novembersweets_sweetreads99 fucking Homerunned this baby. Plaything is still a boss ass Betch and her men oooo her men are one of my fav harems.

This book picks up right there Plaything left off. There was drama, there were secrets…Jesus lord the ending secret.

I’m guessing there will be a spin-off story with Minx and some others 😉 😉

My only regret is that Jimmy didn’t get more air time cause I freaking love Jimmy. I would love a Jimmy prequel to Plaything lol

CHECK TRIGGERS WITH THIS BOOK!!!

so upset

I’m so upset at this and I knew it was coming from the first book.
Alaric just ruined it for me. I didn’t buy his "love" for her in the 1st book and don’t buy it now.
It all felt wrong that Vince and Arlo were oh we love Jane but then as Alaric comes in it changed like it did. Hell they forgot about her the first damn night. He just came in and took over.
Couldn’t this fucking love story come after she was found. She’s being tortured and Alaric, Arlo are just fucking around. Geez…. Pisses me the fuck off
She should have ended up with Jack and Dimitri and let the other two run off with Alaric

So incredibly disappointed in this conclusion. The inner dialog was just too much. It felt like this conclusion could’ve happened in half the amount of time. Jane’s reactions to everything that happened were often unbelievable and often annoying at times. I hated the “plaything” name even more in this book and every time one of the guys used it I felt ripped out of the story. Their relationships started to feel unbelievable and fake at times. I hated how it felt like they weren’t doing enough to save her and the events that occurred while she was gone were confusing. Finally the introduction of the 3 other men was strange to me but I guess it was a set up for them to get their own book.

*spoilers ahead*

This book pmo so much. First of all of this could have been avoided if jane used her eyes and actually read the certificates. Also she is just straight up dumb. She ignored every red flag thrown her way even if they were glaring her in the face. The smut was good and probably the only redeeming thing but even then the relationship with fuckhead after she forgives him is barely delved into. I feel like there were too many plot devices and honestly this duet could have been one book if all the stupid bs was condensed. The whole first book happens in the span of one week and the second book happens in the span of a few. WHAT? ugh so stupid

This book is everything!!! It is so good. It is dark and has you on the edge of your seat. I loved the development that happened with the characters and that end... omg a total wtf?!?!?! Best dark romance duet that I have read this year. Highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed. The characters are hot, stubborn, and alphaholes, but that is the best kind of delicious. Eve is amazing and all that she goes through deserves to have her hea. If you have not started this duet, you need to ASAP!

Definitely Worth Reading!

Now that the duet is complete I hope more people read these books because the Seduction House world is fantastic and I want more!! The men in this harem are so well written and even when they are being horrible I still rooted for them and the relationships. The twists were twisted and unexpected which was a nice change from the normal. I really hope the author continues in this world and we’re given cameos to see how the relationships grow!!
Fantastic books. Read them! Read them! Read them!

great duet

Oh man what Jane has to go through in her brother’s basement is heartbreaking. Not just the torture but her thinking that her guys aren’t coming for her. While Jane’s story is dark in this book you also get to meet some new characters, the brothers, that I hope I’ll be seeing more of in later books. And Fuckboy finally joins the guys. There is a lot of sad but you also get happy once Jane is finally united again with her guys. I absolutely loved the entire story of this duet. Definitely not conventional but still great with a lot of sex, secrets, and dark pasts.

Everything : Make me Duet
By: November Sweets

Sum up of the Book:
This book picks up right where the first left off. Plaything is kidnapped by her crazy brother, While Arlo is shot in the hospital. The rest of the men are suspicious of everyone including fuck boy.

Review:
The first book was amazing and I absolutely loved it. I did enjoy this book just as well. It focuses a lot more on the men and fuck boy. We also get a peek at some characters that I hope get their own book. If you haven't already picked up this duet then I highly recommend going and grabbing it.

so many thoughts

Potential Spoilers.
First off I was really annoyed by the marriage certificate thing both as Janes motivation and the reason they existed at all. Two things would have made way more sense and 1 power of attorney 2 the need for fresh air. Anyway I might could have forgotten about it and enjoyed the book more if Jane would have stopped bringing it up in her internal dialogues. Some of this was just to drawn out honestly. But as always the spicy is very good. I just wish the plot was a better thought out.

I feel this book needs some warnings……
1) do not read in a place you cannot burst out laughing, or crack up saying cock keeper, bitches is thirsty and other such hilarious one liners.
2) do not wear non-waterproof mascara when reading this book.
I love Jane’s inter-monologue, I guess another warning should be don’t read late at night when you don’t wanna wake up the children.
Have you ever cried so much your throat hurt, sobbed ….weep anything like, that I swear through half of this book my throat hurts so bad.

Wow I loved this duet series, its one of my favourite reads of 2022. It was a nice way to wrap up the story even though I would've liked to read details of Mark getting what he finally deserved. I loved all the characters and im glad we got to know them alot better in this book. Like the first book this kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down, loved all the plot twists and turns too, made the story extra good. Definitely highly recommend this series it was amazing and is a must read, you won't be disappointed .

Gutted

This duet gutted me. Omg just everything from beginning middle and end. Evie is my hero. She’s a survivor and I love how we see her struggle with her trauma because that’s reality. It’s not sunshine and rainbows. You lash out at the ones you love and I love how this book showed that. The ending…I can’t even. That was just all sorts of seven gates of hell wrong. I hope Minx gets a book with those three brothers.

Dark and steamy

I was hooked from the first page of the first book, Plaything. So much that I read through both books in one day! I love Jane and Al lol of her men. These books are dark and super steamy. From the first time Jane meets the first of her men, their chemistry is off the charts! The last truth just blew me away, I did not see that coming. Jane's story is heartbreaking, but seeing her find herself through the love her men have for her was amazing.
