Bati is surprised as anyone when he is leht to his brother's mate's sister, Tiani. Even though they butt heads, she makes him feel things he's been waiting his entire life to feel. Things he wants to feel forever. Unfortunately, a few heated encounters is as far as Tiani's willing to let it go.
Tiani likes to think she's smart when it comes to relationships. Don't get too close and don't make any promises. She can think of worse things than a tumble with a sexy alien. Just as long as that's all it is.
We were first introduced to Bati and his Lyqa brothers in "Kwarq." Get into this second book in the Lyqa Planet Lovers Series!
Nikki Clarke is a poet and writer who’s always loved a good love story in books and on film. Her favorite on screen love declarations in no particular order are: Darius and Nina under the viaduct, Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth in the field (Knightley and MacFadden version), and Dwayne and Whitley at the wedding. Nikki doesn’t mind a little weird (or raunch) mixed in with her romance and hopes to contribute to more happily ever afters of all shades and styles.
Look I was ready to fight Tee. And I totally get her issues but read the room girl. That male was trying to love you down and I’m so glad her sisters set her straight. Not gonna lie it made me mad enough that it took me till almost the end of the book to feel the feels between them. I’m at a point in my reading journey where fated mates with intense insta-love don’t hit the same for me anymore. So I didn’t move on to this book for a while but Sol is way more interesting so I’m definitely getting to that one sooner rather than later. Clarke has a writing style that I always vibe with so this was more content issues for me than anything. Because the pace was good, it just wasn’t holding me attention well. But Sol and Shay seem really quirky and interesting so I’m all over that.
Finally a great alien read that involves black females. There were minor grammar error but I could get the gist. I will be stalking this author. It's not everyday that I read and like (ok- love) an author after reading two of their books, back-to-back. This story had the drama, laughs, and love that blended so well. Please.... please.... pretty please -- you MUST tell me Shay and Sol's story. Shay is hilarious!!!! You are my new favorite author. Y'all better start reading this author ☺
Bati and his dahni🥹 this story was so sweet. I suspected the relationship between Bati and KJ the moment he was introduced, and I’m glad I was right. I’m also happy that Tiani came around in the end, because I just loved their little family dynamic🥰
I found Tiani to be annoying heroine but I loved that she didn’t freak out aa much as Amina did in her book. I loved Bati. he was such a cinnamon roll and the way he was with KJ 😭
I like this one better than the first one but they are both good. Although I believe Bati gave in a little too easily I think I would’ve made him play harder to get when the roles reversed.
Tiani doesn’t do feelings, but being Bati’s lehti just might change her mind.
OMG I didn’t expect how much I would like this book. The first one was a little clunky at times, but this was a great improvement. Tiani just needed sometime, and I really appreciated that Bati was willing to give it to her.
If you like black girls x anybody, and interspecies romance is your jam, this series is for you.
I enjoyed this story, I just wish I could have had a little more backstory to KJ's father, although it may not seem important, I feel it was a major factor on WHY Tiani was the way she was. I didn't feel as emotionally connected to Bati and Tiani as I did with Kwarq and Amina. I did enjoy traveling to the different galaxies and planets and the relationship between KJ and Bati was very pure and organic. Overall, this was a good story.
I have recently decided that I love alien romances and these stories are everything I need. I love when two people are fated to be together and only one believes it at first. I love that we get to see another culture and the way they interact. Bati and stamina had a great story that was easy to read an kept me entertained.
Nikki has done it again this is the second Lyqa book and I could not put it down..I can't wait for the next book. This is a must read it you haven't you will not be disappointed.
This book was better than the first one. I really enjoyed Bati and Tee. At first I wasn't thrilled with Tee. But the story explained why she was like she was and I rooted for her after. KJ is a hoot. Love the series.
Ok... so Bati, he’s the alpha twin. And his woman is in dire need of a male who can “tame” her, but not in a mean way. #kindnessmatters I’m still looking dreaming of the a$$hole eldest brother. Keep writing let all the black girl magic out.
I enjoyed this story even more than the first in the series! However, the female main character, Tiani (who is Amina's sister from the first story), got on my nerves a bit. Her attitude was a bit stank at first, but thankfully, she eventually came to her senses. I understand that she had been through some stuff, so I was willing to give her a chance.
On the other hand, the male main character, Bati (who is Kwarq's twin brother from the first story) was wonderful right from the start! He was kind, respectful, loving, and definitely had a sexy side! Even though he lacked experience, I suppose aliens learn quickly without much instruction. That said, Tiani still managed to teach him something new in the bedroom—yes! But Bati's sexiness aside, his heart was also so pure. The selfless act he performed was nothing short of amazing. If there were a perfect man (or alien), Bati would probably be it!
Then there’s KJ, Tiani’s son, who was absolutely the cutest. I really enjoyed the relationship he developed with Bati; their interactions warmed my heart. KJ was a delightful addition to this story. Although I didn't care for Tiani at first, she grew on me. She proved to be a good mother, and I appreciated the relationship journey between her and Bati. The little family dynamic among Tiani, Bati, and KJ was especially enjoyable.
The story also had its share of adventure and suspense; the world building is top tier! There were tense moments that had me holding my breath. I loved seeing Amina and Kwarq make cameos, and I’m hoping to read more about Tiani and Bati in the next installment or elsewhere in the series. The author, Nikki Clarke, is new to me, but she has quickly become one of my favorites for 'Paranormal Otherworldly' fantasy romances. I can't wait to continue with the series! It was clever of her to place Ah'dan's story further down the line—I'm eager for what comes next!
I am so far enjoying this Lyqa Planet series. In this 2nd book, sister to the Book 1 heroine, Tiana, a “man-eating” single mother meets Bati, virginal alien and twin brother to Book 1 hero, when their families get together to meet and celebrate the Book 1 couple’s marriage. What’s fated mates for Bati is every reason to run for Tiana, who’s been burned before by her no-good ex and left holding the baby with no support. She makes it more than clear that she wasn’t nothing more than “benefits” from Bati but he wants more.
I liked this book more or less. Tiana was not the most likable heroine but I also understood where she was coming from emotionally given her past experience. Bati was an absolute delight and KJ, Tiana’s little boy was cute. I think at times the heroine was perhaps a little too bitter to allow for happiness but overall I think this was cute and did a good job with consent.
Bati: If, “all in,” was a person it would be Bati. He was an open book with all aspects of his life and had no problem sharing his feelings.
Tiani “Tee” Bennet: If, “resistance,” was a person it would be Tee. Her walls were built so high almost no one could get over them.
Book two took us completely by surprise. We didn’t think we could fall more in love with the Lyqa people, but this installment really immersed us in their culture. This one showed love in all it’s forms and it was just perfect. It showed that anything worth having is worth fighting for. We highly recommend.
If you told me a week ago that I'd be into alien romantasy with a lot of spice and that I'd like it, I would have called you crazy. Yet, here I am into book 2 and hooked asf.
I love how Clarke continues to serve with simplicity and complexity at the same time. Bati is incredible. Sorry Kwarq but he's my new favorite so far. The other books will tell haha.
Tiani... mhm. I don't mind a difficult heroine. Clarke did a good job showing that Tee wanted to change versus her being a butthead the whole time. Look at the way she handled the water 👏🏿. She didn't resort to her default. She didn't blame anyone. She GREW and I won't let anyone come for her difficult ass.
I love that this book was so adventurous. At first I didn't because for some dumb reason I thought it would distract, but it was very helpful for their growth.
I'm so glad I discovered this book, and this author. I have become bored with, the Urban and Contemporary romance books that are out now. I decided to give Paranormal books a try, and I was not disappointed with this series. I love these Lyqa heroes so much. Tiani, was really pissing me off at first, I'm glad she got herself together, because Bati, was to sweet to treat like that. I know Sol and Shay's story is next, but I have to know what happened with Ah' nand's leti, and will they get back together. You did a great job, and I can't wait for the next story.
I never thought I would like any kind of book with an alien in it because I'm a very paranoid person however Miss Clarke has done her thing with all three of these books in the series I think I would only read books by her she definitely have me on my toes with these aliens in envisioning what they could possibly look like and oh my goodness the sex needs but so have you wanting to go and make love to your significant other whoever that may be LOL my bad I did not mean to go there for those of you who are sensitive it's a certain type of reviews I love this book can't wait for the next one to come out
I really enjoyed this book. Your characters Bati and Tiani were so much fun to read about. Excitement, fun, adventure, laughs and thrills. I loved reading the evolution that Tiani went through with Bati. Bati stayed so patient and hopeful with his love for Tiani. They ended up being a passionate, steamy, scorching and spicy couple that kept me all riled up and fanning myself.😅🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️ I thought having a child as one of the main characters was a wonderful idea. I really liked Bati and KJ's relationship. It was beautiful. I like how more characters are being introduced within the story for another book. I'm looking forward to the next read.
The first book definitely had all the feels and this book was more action/adventure packed. We got to discover an additional planet and other beings outside of Lyqa.
Bati be talking ish and I love it. T puts a bad taste in my mouth. She is rude and super guarded. She’s been hurt in the past but she didn’t have to be that mean. Then she went from you get on my nerves to I like you to I love you in 4 days. I love KJ. He’s the comedic relief we need throughout the entire book. The end reeled me back in with the feels though.
Tiani was playing with my soft Bati and I did not like that one bit. However she had her reasons, and she came around quickly when her sisters bluntly told her about her rudeness. I liked that there was more exploration of this alien world the author created. I'm still Loving this series.
Another great offering from Nikki Clarke. It is a testament to her writing skill that I actually read and enjoyed a book with a single parent, which I normally avoid like the plague. I appreciated that there was a bit of adventure in this installment. The heroine was a hard case, but she did have a reason and I warmed up to eventually. Anyway, I can't wait for the next one!
Anti is so sweet, and at the beginning I truly believed he would be my favorite character, but KJ took the cake. This little boy stole my heart and all of my attention. Yes I want to see what happens with Sol and LeShay, but I really want to read about KJ some more.
I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the first because of Tiani’s behavior in the beginning of the book. She was mean and just downright rude to Bati when he did nothing to warrant that behavior. While I didn’t outright hate this book, I didn’t fall in love with the couple like the first one. I liked Bati just fine.
I did not love the first half of this book, but the second half made up for it. Tiani was just straight up mean at first. We find out why later and as she realizes that Bati isn't like her kid's dad, we see her finally open up and be sweet and sarcastic. I loved the interactions with Bati and little KJ, so precious!
Tee was pissing me off half of the book, but we see where she’s coming from due to her husband abandoning her and their son,so shes not trusting of any man. And then she saw how sweet he was with her son, how trustworthy he was and completely changed her mind and gave him a real chance. This book was full of adventure, romance, angst, highly recommend.
