"If you are new to FX Holden, I recommend you start your reading adventure here." Dr Thomas Bruce.
Each novel in the future war series is a self contained story, with recurring characters. A frighteningly authentic vision of future war, KOBANI is as prophetic as it is unnerving. Through puppet nations, the world's superpowers duel on the Turkey-Syria border using weapons that are prototypes today, but will be a reality in ten years. With characters you will never forget, Kobani is fast-paced, believable and chilling.
GOLAN asks a question few want to consider. What will happen if Iran acquires nuclear weapons in the next ten years? In true Future of War style, GOLAN explores the question through the eyes of front line participants on all sides, in a conflict set ten years into the future. GOLAN throws the reader straight into the center of a nuclear storm and doesn’t ease up.

I have read all of his Future War novels and they are terrific. He does spend a bit more time than I care for on the details of future weapons systems, but it's all very intriguing. His characters are pretty well developed and he has several strong female protagonists. And in spite of the combat going on there is almost always a few humorous moments.
His plots are absolutely believable--and if you read his books you might just find that worrisome.
