Sam and Lexi are back in Chaotic Creations book two in the Demons & Demigods series. This book picks up where book one left off so I definitely recommend you read The Devil's Delight first. There's a lot going on in this action packed, entertaining paranormal romance and once I started reading it I didn't put it down until the last page. After that cliffhanger ending, I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is book two of the Demons and Demigods series and the main characters are Sam Rivers aka Lucifer, and Lexi Sutton, who run a bakery, Sinsational Sweets, together in Boston, are the new power couple. Sam for obvious reasons, but Lexi has her own powers from having a powerful witch as her mother and Loki as her father, but that has to be kept on the down low. If Odin found out Loki had another child, he would make sure she was killed, just like all his other kids and make him watch no doubt! Lexi is trying to figure out how to tell her roommate Sophie, that she wants to move in with Sam, as their relationship keeps progressing and she has already said those three little words, something Sam finds difficult to say or even think about saying to a woman. Sam is busy trying to protect Salem and Boston from the coming war with Abaddon, who took over the underworld after kicking Lucifer topside. He keeps on sending lower-level demons to try and kill Lucifer and cause chaos amongst the humans, revealing the existence of the supernatural to one and all. Lexi’s actual powers are unknown and Lucifer has her mother work on her magic control, whilst he gets Apolo’s son, Nathan, to help her learn to fight, but in fact Lexi gets Nathan to take her along, each time the city is breached and he and his team have to fight off demons of all kinds. The demons are getting bigger, nastier and more dangerous, needing more people to join Lucifer’s side. He has been trying to contact his brothers and find out what is going on upstairs, but not had an answer, and the number of angels found dead is increasing. When Lilith, Lucifer’s former lover and supposed ally, arrives in a terrible state, he takes her to one of his safehouses, to allow her to heal, before interrogating her about what Abaddon did to her and what she knows of his plans. She wants to join Lucifer again and thinks he will just pick up their relationship as they have in the past, but now he is with Lexi, no one else will do! She isn’t happy that he is rebuffing her advances, but he doesn’t exactly explain why, not wanting her to know about Lexi, as he gets a feeling that he can’t quite trust her. She isn’t telling him any lies, as he would know, but not necessarily the full truth either! Lexi’s father Loki is just as protective towards Lexi, as Lucifer is, but in a very surprising way as we find out later on.

Nathan has unexpected Seer powers and can tell something big is brewing, but not exactly when or where, and later on someone is messing with his visions, blurring them so he is unable to see just who is behind what is happening. When Lilith makes her move on Lucifer, she ensures Lexi, Loki and Nathan, walk in on their clinch, leaving Lexi upset and Lucifer to blame for not telling her the truth when Lilith appeared and for being distracted enough to allow her to jump on him! Loki isn’t best pleased with his behaviour, knowing that his daughter loves Lucifer, and he knows Lucifer cares more for Lexi than he has for any other woman in existence. Lucifer’s teams are being spread thin and the attacks are multiplying. Abaddon is ramping up the pressure on these two cities and Miranda’s coven needs extra oomph to power a new spell to ward Boston, after Salem was sorted out. Lucifer should have been able to sense when demons of any kind breached the wards of the cities, but something is stopping him. Abaddon has someone making weapons that can kill angels and the fallen, as well as gods, as well as amulets that are hiding them, somewhat like the one Lexi has to hide her power from others. A huge battle is coming and Lucifer and his friends will need a lot more allies if hey are to stay alive and stop Abaddon, who as powerful allies of his own, providing him with lots of items and weapons to get his demons and Fallen into Lucifer’s back yard. His attacks get ever more frantic, as he sends a foe that shows he is now the most dangerous being in either realm and if he is not stopped, he will destroy the world itself by using uncontrollable beings, as he tries to kill Lucifer and make sure he can’t take over the underworld from him. Lilith has a key part to play in the latter attacks, and she may not be as trustworthy as Lucifer once thought. Lexi is unfortunately a target, as she gets in the way of another’s plan, and the story ends on a cliff hanger as she gets surprised whilst Lucifer and Loki have to face a Titan! There are lots of other important players in the story, some who make sacrifices to save their friends and colleagues, others who do all they can to keep Lexi safe, and those that try to stop the attacks on their cities. So much more to come for the allies Lucifer has draw to him and their cause, as they strike out to save Lexi and put Abaddon and others back where they belong!

NA PN action-romance, myths and magic, cliffhanger/ serial 4*s
As stated previously for part one, I appreciated the research Ms. Boruff did to make her version of mythical characters and setting more believable, historically rather than using the version kids hear in Sunday school. There may be just a tiny bit of the author inserted when it comes to taking Comparative Religious Studies or maybe she used self-guided research as background for fleshing out her famous characters. This reader appreciates the extra mile she went to for the sake of the work. Everyone, including those labeled by American Christianity as villainous, has a reason to be, weather it is a popular position or not. Book one was the getting to know you part of this plot arch and slower paced while preparing readers for part two, which pretty much hits the ground running, so I'm glad I was able to read them close together. I was so caught up in the story, I finished it in a marathon even though I really should have been sleeping. While this is an action-type plot, time was also taken to grow and show the inter-character relationships so all characters invoke empathy or at least understanding on some level, from villainous hero, those caught in the middle, scorned ex-lovers, and the younger warriors as they find themselves. Eagerly looking forward to part three.

Omg i love this new series!!

So i had to read book 1 first, not sure how i missed it releasing since i LOVE everything by LA Boruff, but it was sooooooo worth it.

This is, of course, book 2 in the Demon's and Demigods series and i just devoured both books. They are so good. In book 2, Lexi and Lucifer, aka Sam, are working together along with other powerful supernaturals to get ready for war against hell so lucifer can reclaim his throne. But they are still running the bakery together. With everything going on, lucifer has been super busy and Lexi feels like she's not getting to see him very much. But alas, she has been working with Nathan to learn how to fight and how to fight using her powers.

Lucifer is hiding something really big from Lexi... like how his ex, Lillith, was injured and is staying at one of the safe houses. He's fairly sure he can trust her but something inside him is telling him to be cautious since it seems a little chaotic. Lol

More supernatural characters come to join the fight... like Thor and Leviathan That part made me cry just a little bit.
Zeus even came in to help save the day.... well today at least, since now Lexi is missing!!!!

I can't wait to read the next one! I am so hooked!!

I received an ARC for my honest review!

Lucifer/Sam and Lexi have set up home in Boston. But at the moment Lucifer/Sam is in Salem setting up wards with Miranda Sutton, Lexi's mother and current witch coven leader. She tells Lucifer/Sam that while she was helping to set up the wards she felt something watching. She would rather he get back to Boston to be with his wife, her daughter. Lucifer/Sam and Lexi have opened up a bakery names Sinsational Sweets. So he pics the office and materializes in front of the desk. He steps out of the office into total chaos. He meets with Izumi,a daughter of Hermes. Then he spies his wife supervising Kameron, a covenless witch who's a freshman at UMass. In the dining area he meets up with Nathan, a son of Apollo and was a seer.
Once he's talked to Nathan to set up guards on two paths, he tells him he has a special job for him. To guard Lexi.
Memories plague Lucifer/Sam of danger that Lexi had gotten into. He shudders thinking of what could have happened to her. Then a danger he didn't see coming, an ex girlfriend, shows on the horizon. Her plan get revenge on either him or Lexi...she's not picky. OUCH!
Will they be able to take her on and out before Lucifer/Sam's dreams of being with Lexi drifts into the wind.
A fascinating story on a figure who isn't too well represented in stories.

CHAOTIC CREATIONS is the second book in the Demons and Demigods series. These absolutely must be read in the order of release. Do not read this book without reading The Devil’s Delight first.

Lexi and Lucifer are busy in this continuing adventure to save the world. They are running the bakery, she is learning how to fight and how to fight with her powers, and everyone is preparing for the coming war to re-throne Lucifer in Hell.

Because of Loki, Lexi’s siblings are -historically- the stuff of nightmares. Yet, a different light is shown on them and a few other heroes and anti-heroes. The research the author has put into shows and is a beautiful thing to read. Comparing religions and bringing them together seamlessly in a fictionalized story of good and evil - and debating what is evil.

I love this series and am anxiously looking forward to book 3.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via BookSprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

This is the sequel for The Devil’s Delight and seeing Lucifer Morningstar fall in love was awesome. Seeing him run a cafe in Boston near U of Mass is just awesome. Although to the human world, he is Sam Rivers. He hunts down demons as Abaddon has taken over Hell and dethroned him. Lucifer is hunting for a way to get down there and take it all back. Lexi is his powerful girlfriend and works with him. They are just adorable and hot. Seeing other Gods and Goddesses that aren’t really in the limelight like Loki or Lucifer and have a spotlight on them from Marvel, was way cool. Saw some cool ones from South America in this.

In this book, Lucifer is gathering help to get his Throne back. There are also a nice grouping of demigods in the book. Also there are Fae Gods and Goddesses in there as well, like the Morrigan and the leader of the Wild Hunt. Even other archangels show up.

Sooooo cool! I really like the main characters and more people are now helping them at the bakery. Can’t wait to read the final book of the trilogy!

when former friends and lovers come to town, things can get dicey

Lexi and Lucifer are working on striking a balance in their business/ save the worlds / love life. they really do seem to be doing a pretty poor job. Sam should also follow his instincts when he feels drawn to spend more time with Lexi - you never know how much time you really have together

betrayals by former friends and allies cut deep, and put the balance in peril between the heavens and stations in hell.

the battle continues, as allies and enemies shift - dangerous changes lie on the horizon.

epic battles, baked goods and romance

I enjoyed reading this book on Kindle Unlimited

It's been so long since I read book 1, that I had a hard time falling back into the story. This definitely started where book 1 left off. It wasn't bad or anything that I could actually list, I just felt lost, because I didn't retain much from book 1 from reading it 6 months ago. Because of that, I'm not going to give this any stars since I believe this is not the book I need to read unless I start with book 1 again...

At my age (60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.

Sam and Lexi are back and so is all the fun. They are dealing with so much in this story. New and old characters pop in as they try their best to fight the demons and make plans for the future. A few surprises and lots of action and danger are present. But it was entertaining and fun to read as Sam and Lexi do their thing. They try their best to find allies for the big battles to come as they fight the small battles now. Loved it and cannot wait to see what happens next based on the ending in this one.

Wow. “What happens next” wasn’t anything I was expecting. This book takes off at a run pretty much from the moment it opens. And it never lets up all the way to the cliff-hanger ending that has me gnashing my teeth in frustration that I can’t immediately start reading the next book. There are new enemies and allies. Secrets revealed and treachery afoot. The only thing I know for certain is that I’m desperate to learn the rest of the story.

Omg omg omg omg omg omg!
That was what went through my head almost this entire book.
Don’t Get me wrong - I love this book, the plot, the characters and how they tell this story. And it has a little bit of spice, a little bit of humor and a lot of action! But for me it was a little to much! Mainly because it came to many Gods, and to much history for me to keep up with all the names. But put that aside - great book!

An Entertaining Trip down Mythology Lane

This story starts up where The Devil’s Delight left off - Lucifer has been evicted from Hell and a war I’d brewing, while Lexi and Lucifer’s relationship keeps heating up. Lots of crazy chaotic fight scenes in this book, which I quite enjoyed, as well as terrific secondary characters. And oh that cliffhanger!…here’s to hoping we don’t have to wait as long for book three!

This is book 2 in the Demons and Demigods series and this is the continuation of Lexi’s and Sam’s (Lucifer’s) story. There has been so much going on in this story with Sam and Lexi running the bakery and with Lexi finding out that her father is Loki and now with Sam’s ex trying to get him back well let’s just say that it’s going to be hell and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3. This is a fantastic story but sorry guys no spoilers and I highly recommend this book/ series.

A strong plot -

If you like mythologies (norse, greek) mixed in with angels and demons, witches and other paranormal you will enjoy this book. It is best to read others in the series but it can be read as a stand alone and it ends on a cliffhanger.

Really can't wait to the next book comes out, you have to keep up with the twists and turns though!

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Chaotic Creations, the second book in the Demons and Demigods series by L.A. Boruff and JL Burns. Sam and Lexi are back and the complications keep coming. This is one fast paced, action packed read. There is a cliff hanger ending, but the setup is great!

Lexi is continuing to figure out her powers. Lucifer still adores her but gets himself in trouble (not his fault!), everyone is fighting demons left and right which of course we all know is really Abaddon still trying to take over.

There are new characters who come into play and I LOVE seeing how the author uses Greek mythology yet it's not necessarily exactly what we know. It's even better!

Sam and Lexi . . .

Lucifer (“Sam”) and Lexi are good together, trying to keep their relationship strong while looking for allies to help with what is to come. Can Lexi get her father to help them out? Grab your copy that continues from where Book 1 left off. The pace does not slow down!

This is an action packed second book in the Demon and Demigods series. It picks up right where book 1 left off. It was great to get back into Sam and Lexi's story. The writing evoked emotion and it was easy to feel for the characters. It does in a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more.

What an amazing series. Book 2 does not disappoint after a great book 1 and even though you could probably read this book on its own don't deprive yourself of the whole 3 book series as well worth reading as books I will return to read as so enjoyed entering and sharing the world of Lexi and Lucifer, their friends, all the characters, the realms and whole new outlook and perspective on some very interesting mythological beings.
Books make me laugh at loud as engaging characters, interactions and situations, lots of good sex, romance and adventures. Bit of everything rolled up nicely into a great supernatural, fantasy rollercoaster ride of delight.

I am completely caught up in the series. I just noticed that the sun is rising and I really should get some sleep, but I’ll probably start the final book first.
I don’t think I can give a stronger endorsement than that.
