Strong is book two of the Crown and Sceptre sweet fantasy fairy tale series. This series can be enjoyed as standalone novels or in sequence.
Three books in, and I'm really enjoying this world spun of fairy tales with interwoven characters. The take on familiar stories is a more modern spin, with stronger leading ladies, set in bygone times.
Celine is a great heroine, both compassionate and kick a**. Also, loves carbs:
"A heady sense of freedom washed over Celine as she breathed in the scent of fried food and sweet, sugary pastries. Skipping after the crowd, she made her way through the town until she reached the square— now packed with villagers, finished with their day’s labour. She spent a few minutes browsing stalls selling food and other merchandise before settling on a sweet concoction of fried dough sprinkled with cinnamon sugar."
The series overall could use another round of editing as there are many glaring errors.
