Urgh everything was perfect- until that rushed end 🥲 I wanted sm more, still don’t have a clue how they end up. Only had half a chapter of romance content between them after finding out, which was mostly smut.

Had potential. However, the fact that the only reason for Draco's obsession and devotion was caused by a single encounter where she was in a blue dress and sneered at him was just not it. It's not really realistic. His "apology" letter implied some intense affections, but it's honestly unrealistic for it be derived from a one-time, shallow meeting. But if I looked past this, the writing's not bad.

Ironically, the moment I believed to be noteworthy was with Ron:
"I'm sorry," Hermione whispered.

Ron nodded. "I am, too."

She carefully walked over, sitting on the side of his bed and holding his hand in her palm, stroking his fingers. "I do love you."

"Me too," Ron responded sadly. "But what's not enough, is it?"

She didn't answer, she didn't have to.

This was okay!

Ended too abruptly and took itself a bit too seriously. But I liked the parallels and it had a good story about the wolfsbane potion.

It had been a bit over a week and a little more than a few books since I had a Draco/Hermione fic and I was missing them, so I started reviewing my many Dramione fics and I came across Overture. I was interested in it since I enjoyed The Phantom of the Opera and it seemed like it would be a good, natural blending of the properties. Dirtymudblood totally pulled it off and did an excellent job with it! Draco’s not as dark as the movie Phantom, though if someone threatened Hermione, I could see him going there, but it’s more of a subtle darkness than anything else. Even though, he’s all obsessy, it doesn’t really feel toxic because while I have no doubts Draco would always watch over Hermione and try to help her in whatever way he could, if she wasn’t into him and told him to stay away from her and not talk to her, he would do that. I know that’s like duh, that’s how it should be, I’m just saying given that this is Phantomesque and while I was rooting for the Phantom, he doesn’t have the best reputation and I know Draco technically doesn’t have one either considering everything, but I probably unnecessarily wanted to point out that this isn’t a toxic fic. I don’t know why I went so hard on that. Anyway, I had an awesome time reading Overture, it was sexy and fun and had a nice amount of dark, roughness to it — I loved it and I definitely want to check out this author again!

I just feel like Hermione was weirdly insecure and incompetent. I get loving the phantom of the opera, but Christine is a bit of an idiot. A beautiful voice but not exactly brainy or brave. She’s an ingénue. It just doesn’t mix well with Hermione. Hermione would not need a man to give her the courage and vision to fight injustice. Maybe help her finesse a bit, be more slick and flattering. But this Hermione was just a bit dimwitted. It made it harder to get into. Also it was very weird to me that their first encounter is in her office which is also the sight of a previous sexual assault. Hard to read that as romantic.

Also the scene where she teases herself by the windows feeling the phantom is watching… she above Florian Fortesque’s!!!! The main downtown spot for all of wondering Britain. She feels like someone unseen is watching?! No duh! You live in the commercial center of Wizarding Britain!

“If you have any regard for Zabini’s life, you’ll refrain from mentioning his name here. Or any other man for that matter.”

I LOVED LOVED THE DRACO IN IT, IT'S MY FIRST FIC INTO THE FANDOM AND I THINK I FELL HARDER AND HARDER, THOUGH THE ENDING COULD HAVE BEEN A LITTLE SMOOTHER, THIS FIC DIDN'T DISAPPOINT AT ALL.

This was super cute. I don't usually love the already-likes-her guy especially in this pairing but the way it was pulled off was really sweet.

Dramione. Pining dark obsessive Draco, but he does it via secret admirer notes. Also he breaks Ron's leg.

This was a great possessive/obsessed Draco and i really enjoyed it. However, the ending felt super rushed.

Semi-dark / obsessive Draco, with a sweet twist.

I don't know, it was good, but I would've wanted more romance and maybe Draco's POV.

Plus points for the Greek god references:)

Short read but enjoyed it! Actually wholesome and not creepy imo. Very sweet though I would have loved a Draco POV

I’m a huge Phantom of the Opera fan so I was excited for this. I wish the book was longer. There was so much potential and I felt shorted.

Not sure how I feel about this, we never got a love confession and it ended so abruptly! But it was entertaining

I always love a Phantom of the Opera inspired story. Felt the ending was slightly rushed, but the story was a lot of fun.

I actually really liked this one. The ending was a bit rushed for my tastes, but I really liked the rest of it. It was a unique idea.

The little tidbits thrown in here and there that make you realize just how deep Draco’s influence ran? *chef’s kiss*
