The five Savage siblings and heirs are American royalty. Ares the CEO, Apollo the rock star, Athena the bestselling novelist, Eros the movie star and Artemis the supermodel have it all. But what few people know is that they’d trade all the money and fame in the world for one thing.
As glamorous as their lives may be, what each of them wants is elusive: the same kind of star-crossed love their parents were known for. But nothing is perfect, and not everything is always as it seems. Before they’ll arrive at their happily ever afters—if they can get there at all—they’ll leave a trail of broken hearts, jilted lovers and obsessed fans along the way. And when someone turns up dead at the Wedding of the Year, it’s not clear at first who the victim or killer is, or what the motive might turn out to be …
Beautiful Savages is a fun standalone rom-com with a murder mystery twist.
J. Capulet also writes contemporary romance as Julie Capulet. Her stories are inspired by true love and she's married to her own real life hero. When she's not writing, she's reading, walking on the beach, drinking wine and watching rom-coms ♥
ღ Beautiful Savages-: In this amazing Novel, we find our self’s reading not 1 not 2, but about 5 different siblings and how they heirs are American royalty in their own way
Come on what more can you ask for, we got Ares the CEO, Apollo the rock star, Athena the bestselling novelist, Eros the movie star and Artemis the supermodel …. They have it all. Or so you might think they do….
As you can imagine each of these siblings have their ups and downs… but what they have in common the most besides blood , is that , everyone wants a piece of them in one way or other…..
One of the things, I love most about these 5 siblings is even thought they all live busy life’s, they still manage to be a close-knit family
Now I must say I thought I was reading one Ms Capulet usual romance Novel, but then I slowly realize that book had so much more to it … like a murder mystery twist, even had bit of rom-com feel to it……. Oh I got kick out the fact that all the main characters were named after mythical gods
Beautiful Savages is a stand alone romance/mystery by J. Capulet (Julie Capulet.) This is so different from anything I’ve read before of Julie’s. It’s the story of the five Savage siblings, Ares the CEO, Apollo the rock star, Athena the famous author, Eros the A-list movie star and Artemis, the supermodel. All five siblings are rich beyond measure. It seems that anything any of them attempt instantly turns to gold. But in reality, these five are just people, human beings that have wants and needs like anyone else. And what they all want more than anything, is love.
The Savages lost their parents a few years before. Their parents were madly in love, their love story told many times in the press. All five of their children hope and dream to find the same thing for themselves.
Really, it’s genius the way the author put this story together. The chapters rotate between the POV’s of the five siblings and many secondary characters. I worried in the beginning I wouldn’t be able to keep them all straight. But as I got to know each one, everything fell into place. I was pulled into the individual lives of each and every character and was astounded at the way Julie managed to tie them all together. Yes, there is a crime here and the book builds toward it all the way to the end. You are kept waiting until the very last minute to see how it all turns out!
I don’t really think I’ve read anything like this before. As I said, it’s so unique the way she constructed it all. Five siblings, all famous, all rich, all talented, and all with big hearts. But mostly, they are all just like you and me, with wants, needs and weaknesses. I found I couldn’t put it down, I had to see what happened next. I love when an author breaks out of her norm to try something new and in this case, it is a wonderful success
This was a nice surprise from J. Capulet! She managed to combine efficiently the stories of 5 siblings in one release and deliver a suspenseful, romantic and very good paced work!
It had some stereotypes, like all siblings were successful, beautiful, famous and more than rich. It was like a soap opera, yet I enjoyed it and kept my interest.
I have been WOWed!!! My socks? They were rocked right off!
No matter the words I write in my review, they won’t do this story justice.
In Ms. Capulet’s Note to Readers at the beginning of the book, she mentions this story “…is pitched as Jackie Collins meets Big Little Lies.” I haven’t read Big Little Lies, but back in the day, I was a big Jackie Collins fan. Huge, actually. I would read all of her novels I could get my hands on. When I first heard this, I was super giddy and all I AM SO HERE FOR THIS.
The Savage siblings: a CEO, a supermodel, an author, a rock star, and a movie star. Each with their own story, their own problems, their own drama & troubles. Then finally, their happy endings.
A bunch of parallel stories, separate, yet connected. At the end, everything was brilliantly and so perfectly woven together and tied up in a pretty red bow.
At first, there were lots of characters to learn, but the author did a fabulous job at letting me slowly get to know them, and then she made me fall hard. I loved, loved, loved getting to know them all. The whole way through, learning about them, wanting more of them, needing to know everything.
This story was like the perfect recipe: a pinch of angst, a heaping scoop of suspense, a touch of humor, big handfuls of swoons, tons of sparks & passion, with splashes of delicious steam. Blended all together for a superb read. Serving suggestion: Best enjoyed without any real-life interruptions or distractions.
As each chapter passed, I swore I had it figured out. The author did a fabulous job at planting little seeds where you suspect and point fingers and blame… and then doubt. Just when I thought I might have it…NOPE. Along comes another suspect, and I was SURE it was that one instead. This story kept me turning the pages, kept me guessing, kept me enthralled. This story consumed me! Days later, and I catch myself still thinking about it.
If you haven’t guessed by now, I absolutely loved this well-written book. It comes highly recommended by me.
I just finished a VERY intriguing book by a author I love who is best known for her steamy romances, but this book breaks the mold and defies categorization. What genre can this be classified as? Mystery, yes! Suspense, that too but sprinkled with plenty of heartfelt romance, sexy encounters, tons of humor and some crazy plot twists that were wildly entertaining!!
This standalone story has a murder that's been committed at some point, but you won't know the how, when or why until the very end!! The character's experiences intertwined flawlessly to add more layers to the building suspense in this creative and intricately woven story. I looked forward to the witty dialogue, which felt like clues, between the detectives and the suspects they interviewed at the end of each chapter. This clever, compelling story was so much FUN to read- the variety and breadth of every character was a discovery in itself as each new person's voices were added and let me tell you, they were hilarious at times. I finished this book in one day and my curiousity was kept on edge the whole way through. My life and responsibilities...all but forgotten!!!
This story centers around the 'Beautiful Savages'- a diverse family of 5 gorgeous, talented and successful siblings who have been blessed with looks, charm and more money than they could spend in a lifetime. They are cursed with fame and all the unwanted attention that comes with their worldwide notoriety...it seems everyone wants a piece of them! These 3 brothers and 2 sisters are relentlessly followed, hounded, lusted after, obessed over, photographed, tweeted about, imitated, stalked, misjudged and maligned. In the end, they're just a caring, close knit, loving family, wanting to find what everyone hopes for- peace, happiness and a special someone to love that makes them feel complete. Is it possible for untouchable American royality such as themselves- the CEO, rockstar, bestselling author, actor and supermodel, to find love in their jaded world??
Come along for the ride as these Beautiful Savage's show you what it's like to walk a mile in their shoes....it's not always easy to be one of them. What lengths would someone go to get close to them?? To try to slip into their world and take whatever they want from them? This was one hell of a story and how it all came together...just WOW!!! Seriously, this book was Kindle crack in all it's glory and completely addicting. I couldn't rest until I knew the ending and hoped it would be a happy one... never fear, it was, but what a juicy nail biter it was getting there.
I was really excited to see what kind of magic web J. Capulet was going to spin here as she explored a new to her genre and succeeded in adding another dimension to her writing. I was thrilled to be a given a chance to read an early copy of Beautiful Savages which proves again what a talented and gifted author she truly is.

Beautiful Savages de J. Capulet
Argumento:
Cinco hermanos.
Beautiful Savages is a unique, sexy, wholly entertaining story that I could not get enough of. The writing was fantastic and the interwoven storylines made it impossible for me to put this book down. I absolutely love books that steer away from formulaic storytelling and overused tropes, and Beautiful Savages was that and so much more. I wasn't bored for a single moment and I completely fell in love with the characters and the interesting way the story was told.
J. Capulet somehow managed to create a story with five different love stories while giving depth and heart to her characters in a way that has the reader rooting for them. Each of the Savage siblings had such different characteristics and dealt with their family tragedy in their own way. I loved seeing them find their own happiness and true love after hitting some entertaining bumps along the way.
This book had humor and angst and really well executed romance. It hits on some heavy topics that were all written with realism and skill. The only problem with this story is that it left me wanting more. I sincerely hope that this author had more books like this planned in the future because she knocked this one totally out of the park.
This is more of a melodrama than a mystery--at least I found that the so-called mystery was obvious pretty much from the beginning.
When I grabbed this off NetGalley I thought, why not check out some contemporary mystery and glitz fiction to see how our tastes match up. I should have taken warning from a happy reviewer's claim that it was like reading fiction about the Kardashians. Unfortunately, I think the Kardashians are really, really boring.
It didn't help that this book opens with a long description of every character, emphasizing their hotness and perfection. That set a tone that just couldn't grab me. I disliked them all, though I can see how there might be a huge audience for this type of story, I found them all to be a bunch of interchangeable pissbiscuits.
It'd make a great TV show that I would never watch, but I know a lot of people who would. Tastes differ--it was an interesting experiment.
This is my first book by this author and her first book in this genre and in my opinion she killed it!!!!!!!!!!!! She describes her book as Jackie Collins meet Big Little Lies and in this readers opinion she definitely channeled her inner Jackie Collins with this one. It is so delicious that I had to make myself put it down to sleep. This book has drama, sex, adventure, romance and everything a romance thriller fan loves!!!!! It is a very entertaining, juicy novel that you will devour just as I did. I highly recommend this book.
I ended up enjoying this book the more pages I read. There were a lot of characters to get to know for this novel and it took me a while to get the feel of it, but once I did, I could not turn the pages fast enough. Humor at the end of each chapter when you got the one liners from the police interviews, and once they all came together, priceless. A nice tidy sum of all that took place at the end of the book.
Oh my heavens that was quite a wild ride with this crew! Julie stated that this would be like Big Little Lies meets a Jackie Collins read and I couldn't get enough. This is the tale of five famous siblings each on the pursuit to finding their true love and happiness now lets throw in a murder where each and everyone of them is a suspect and yes they all have a motive! We have ourselves quite an adventure filled with mystery, suspense, romance and yes it is funny too! SO much different than what I am used to reading from Julie but well worth it! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
OH MY GOSH !!! I have no idea what to say....This book actually blew me away and was not what I was expecting. It is UNIQUELY Brilliant and I have never read a story like it. J.Capulet's writing is perfection,and chapter by chapter the story built up word for word perfectly,she has constructed a gripping, intriguing romantic suspense. Telling the stories of 5 Famous siblings and the ones who steal their hearts,but their stories take place around a murder....Everyone is a suspect...everyone has motive...I was so blinkin hooked I could not put it down until the end..I wanted, no needed to know what had happened and if these 5 siblings would have an HEA.I Really liked all five of the savages and I didn't want one of them to be a murderer..each of their stories showed what they were like as people and the hard reality of being a Savage,and having famous parents...and possibly having enemies too. This book is PHENOMENAL, and I enjoyed every single part of it. I could not recommend this book highly enough. 5 Excellent Stars.
I liked the idea of it but unfortunately was all over the place with a million of different POV's. Other than the 10 we have,since there are 5 couples, plus other secondary characters. Romance wise...it was hard because of course it wasn't developed enough none of this 5 love story's. I skipped a lot and lost interest pretty fast.
this book is nothing like ive have ever read before. it follows 5 couples, and 1 murder mystery. all five siblings named after a Greek God all got their special epic romance with the right amount of drama thrown in. i thought i was going to be super confused by the many, many characters but i surprised i was not. it was surprisingly easy to follow and fun to read. the siblings are Eros, Athena, Apollo, Ares and Artemis. they are all famous for different reasons whether it be a best-selling author, a rock star, a CEO, an actor or an architect, they all are constantly in the public eye and long for the magical love their parents had. i really liked the difference between the siblings characters and whom they fell in love with. my favorite couple would definitely have to be Apollo and Daisy. the others love story was also super quick and interesting to read about but some of them were rather short or missing a lot in a couple but Apollo and Daisy definitely had the best storyline!
overall, i came out of my comfort zone while reading this book. it was fun, interesting and a surprisingly fast read!
These five Savage siblings bring all the hot sexy thrills you didn't think possible. Each one is more complicated and alluring than the next as you dive deeper into their stories that have been perfectly woven together. There are a LOT of characters to follow and yet ever chapter is a new piece of info to get you closer to the answer or answers you have been crazily wanting and guessing at along the way. Suspenseful yet mesmerizing. You can't help but feel for them all at one point or another and wondering (or fantasizing) what it would be like to either be them or be with them. It would be a hell of a family gathering, that's for sure. Loved the writing, characters and the over the top circumstances which had me binge reading this like a manic. I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest opinion.
Julie is one of my favourites, this story is different from what she writes , after seeing the blurb, I know its a must read for me. I absolutely enjoyed this story, it's full of intrigue and mystery which kept me turning the pages. There's so much suspense, drama, , jealousy, romance and of course lots of steam. She left nothing out and it's a WOW for me. A must read. I received an ARC for my voluntary honest review
Talk about totally different from anything you’ve ever read this is it. Five siblings from the same family each with there own story that comes together in the end for the wedding of the century.
Unique approach to a murder mystery. You’ve never read another book like this.
Julie has stepped out of her ‘usual’ to write an exceptional and interesting story. It is most unusual: a suspenseful mystery romance! The characters are very spot on for each ‘role’, the story builds in a different way that keeps you guessing until the end, when all is revealed. This will make a great movie! Highly entertaining and definitely recommend.
We are immersed in the lives of brothers and sisters, who have everything going for them, but following the tragic death of their parents, everyone reacts in their own way, all have the name of Greeks gods: Ares, god of war, is the eldest, CEO of the family business, workaholic, duty-bound to his family. Apollo, god of arts, music, male beauty, is the second son, rockstar, suffers the most from the death of his parents, dives into drugs, alcohol, and medication… Athena; goddess of wisdom and military strategy, writer, she’s very introvert Eros; god of love and creative power, movie star, he would like to be recognized as a real actor, win an oscar and not be just a beautiful male…. Artemis; goddess of hunting, wild nature; supermodel, painter, she has a stalker after her. The police investigation is the common thread of the book, multiple POV …. I really enjoyed reading, no downtime, I felt like I was watching a movie. Absolutely to read.
Lots of action with a satisfying conclusion I just finished Beautiful Savages and I have to say, I'm very satisfied with the way it all turned out. 5 love stories and a murder mystery, it was a big ask, but Ms Capulet rose to the occasion. I found that at about chapter 7 or 8 I was losing the details of the end chapter interviews and who everyone was especially with the introduction of ID numbers for the wedding guests and the little clues we were getting along the way, so I went back to the beginning and started keeping notes, yes I read the book with a pad and pen next to me - of course this lead to me seeing the ending well before it happened (the clues were all there) - but this is certainly not necessary! I loved all the individual Savage stories, seeing more of them than the skin-deep persona cultivated for the social media obsessed world we live in, and the growth some of them made in the short time dedicated to them. The story was well structured and despite the notebook, very easy to read and follow along. While we know at the beginning someone gets shot at “The Wedding of the Year” the who and whose wedding keeps you flipping those pages over to find out. At the conclusion of each chapter, the investigating Detective interviews various wedding guests and the events of that night start to unravel. A thoroughly enjoyable read!
Disclosure: I was provided a copy of this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for a review, however all opinions are my own.
Okay so this is a little different from anything I've read recently. It kind of blends the fabulous lives of these five siblings with murder and intrigue and social media.
I'll start off with the reason this didn't get 5 stars: it's a little ridiculous. You have to suspend reality a little bit - 5 hot siblings with everything at their fingertips, and some of them do absolutely ridiculous things for love. It's a bit much.
Nonetheless this is a great beach read with a ton of revolving characters and definite intrigue when it comes to a murder at the Biggest Wedding of the Year. It was a little easy to guess what would happen at the end, but it was fun trying to get there in the meantime. I found myself looking forward to this book despite the fact that it's a little over the top, and sometimes the point of reading is just to escape reality for awhile.
Is this the best book I've ever ready? No, it's not on my favorite books of 2021 list. But was it a fun read that I enjoyed? Absolutely. So if you need something fun and a little sexy, this might be a great choice for you!
Wow, what an amazing read! I love reading this author's stories. This book was written in a new style but this author knocked it out of rhe park. I will be honest, it took me a couple chapters to get the hang of all the characters and get into the flow of the stories. Once I did, I had a hard time putting it down and could not wait to get back to it. I loved meeting each of the Savage siblings, learning so much more about them then the media could release and how it effected them. Money is not everything but sometimes it can come in handy to get you what you need. Five famous and wealthy siblings that have everything they could ever want but someone special in their life to share it with. Their parents showed them what true love looks like before they passed away. This story intertwines all their HEA stories plus a mystery layer surrounding the death of one of the characters. Loved it! Enjoy!
I really loved this book. I loved the characters and the story. I don't read mystery romance but she's one of my favorite authors so I decided to try it out and I'm so glad I did. She really made you feel for all of the Savage siblings. It's a book you won't want to put down. I wish it never ended.
I will have to say that I wasn’t sure what to expect. I will admit that at first the book was kind of confusing, so many characters inter dispersed with interrogations from a detective and unknown individuals. But, I’m so glad that I kept at it, after a couple of chapters I couldn’t put it down! Who got shot and why? Who got married? This was a different type of book that Ms Capulet usually writes but it was well written and kept you wanting more. It wasn’t as steamy as some of her others but was well worth the read.
NEWS UPDATE: One of the Savage heirs is involved in a murder at the Wedding of the Year!!!
NEWS UPDATE: A handgun has been found!
NEWS UPDATE: A Savage has been shot!
We will keep you updated as the story unfolds!
Cedrik Hugo is a fashion photographer and he is determined to get the perfect shot for this shoot of the Savage siblings for the cover of the trendiest magazine in publication. If he could just get them to cooperate. He needs Apollo to take OFF those sunglasses so he can get a shot of those gorgeous turquoise eyes that match the ocean in the background.
The Savage heirs are the most glamourous and gorgeous people he has ever seen and this photograph will put a red ribbon on his already outstanding resume. He is even impressed with himself as he gazes upon the siblings that he has garbed in a modern version of the Greek gods and goddesses they are named for.
As he waited for them to get in a perfect position, he ran over the siblings in his mind. Ares, Apollo, Athena, Eros and Artemis.
Ares was the oldest and heir to the Savage Empire. With his black hair, steel-gray eyes, and billionaire status, he was one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. At the age of 27, he was a hedge fund manager, internet entrepreneur, real estate mogul, and Hollywood studio executive.
Apollo the rock star. His shows sold out hours after going on the market. With his dark hair, tattoos, and turquoise eyes, he was just as gorgeous as the god he was named for.
Athena was a bestselling novelist of books full of sex and fantasy. She also wrote a column for the paper about her life as an heiress. Her honey gold hair and green eyes were enchanting.
Eros had blonde curls and was the most beautiful human being that Cedrik had ever laid eyes on and being a fashion photographer that was saying something. He was also one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood.
Artemis with her raven black hair and green eyes was a supermodel and artist.
Everything these Savage siblings touched turned to gold. It was dubbed "The Savage Effect". Everyone wanted to be them and he was no different. But, he would settle for sleeping with one of them and he wasn't particular whether it was a male or female sibling, he was happy to swing either way.
Both of their parents, Jack and Cassie, were deceased leaving five huge homes, but even though each of the homes was large enough to house not only the siblings but any family they were to have they all drifted to their favorite home and made it their own. But the doors were always open for any sibling who happened to be in the area.
Ares took the Park Avenue penthouse, Apollo the Nashville mansion, Athena the cottage in the Hamptons where we were doing this photoshoot, Eros the Malibu estate, and Artemis the Telluride ranch in Colorado.
Eros was on the beach with two girls trying to outdo the other for his attention. He had needed a breath of fresh air away from all the photographing and was more than happy to let them please him. Double the pleasure.
Women literally begged to sleep with him, but Eros wanted something more. He knew he should be more grateful. After all, women found him irresistible and he had everything he could ever ask for. But, he wanted more than being seen as a pretty boy and good lay. He wanted to be taken seriously.
Hopefully, the movie that he was auditioning for would give him the recognition he was craving. He had just returned from a shoot where he played a hitman for a few days for millions of dollars. He was more than aware that part of that was his name and not his acting ability, but being an actor was his passion.
One of the girls, Neve? was trying to get him to agree to a no-strings arrangement, but when he told her that he wasn't much into dating and turned to rejoin his brothers and sisters, he left behind two very angry women - whose names were actually Barbara and Jolene.
Ares lived for the hustle of New York and rarely left the city except when he was needed in LA at the film studio he co-owned. He had just returned to the city at 3 a.m. and was not in any mood to be going into the office to deal with a disaster. His CFO was found with a prostitute. The underaged prostitute had been found tied to the bed screaming.
His thoughts of how much he had enjoyed the weekend in the company of his siblings left his mind as he entered the boardroom. It had been over a year since they had all gotten together. He had to make sure they spent more time together regardless of everyone's busy schedules.
As he was leaving the boardroom after firing his CFO and telling the girl's lawyer that he would give her 2 million dollars to keep this from going to court and traumatizing the girl any further, her attorney followed him from this room. Wanting to know if she could sit down over a cup of coffee and discuss the details. Details he reminded her that had already been taken care of.
Unknown to him, Tiffany Chamberlain (aka Dawn-Marie Davidson) was no longer an attorney having been disbarred for fraud. She had been planning this for months and paid the girl well for her performance. No, Tiffany had plans for Ares. She was determined to have him and would do anything to make that happen.
Athena had a standing appointment for the first Thursday of each month with the senior editors of the City newspaper. Tamar Takahashi, the editor-in-chief, dressed exclusively in animal prints and had no problem mixing patterns and accessorizing to the hilt.
These meetings always revolved around what they wanted her column to be about for the month. She was an intensely private person and was having a harder and harder time accepting the demands for more personal information to be shared with the public. Little did Athena know that her column accounted for a 40% increase in readership.
But, now they have blindsided her with the fact that they signed her up for the Matchmaker Charity Auction. To be auctioned off for a weekend getaway with the highest bidder. To top that off they want her to write a column about the complete experience. She tried to make a donation instead of actively participated. She had already anonymously donated half her net worth to a major charity she personally funded. But, Tamar knew her weakness for children and dug in deep to get her way.
Athena is being fussed over backstage with people applying makeup and doing her hair. The dress that Tamar has put her in is way past her comfort zone, but she is just ready to get this night over with. As she circulates before the auction begins she meets a young tech genius who goes on and on about how much he loves her books, most especially the sex scenes.
She tells him how much she appreciates his praise and decides to end the conversation that was getting way too creepy considering the age of this boy. When she turns around she bumps into a wall spilling her drink all down the front of him.
This man has hair the color of a mink and blue eyes with very dense lashes. He introduces himself as Wyatt Boone. This mountain of a man with a Texan accent is in your face beefcake masculinity. Maybe she could control the tech genius if he won the bid because this man had alpha hole written all over him and he would definitely be the one in control.
$4 MILLION DOLLARS!
Athena is still in shock that Wyatt Boone spent $4 million dollars to spend a few days with her. Sure, it went to charity, but really?
Percy Mercy was THE director in Hollywood and Eros wanted to be in his next film. Being in one of his films would give him the recognition he needed, but he was shocked that he had to audition. His name and previous acting should negate auditioning, but he would gear down and do what needed to be done to nail down this part.
After reading his lines, the director and his assistant huddled for a discussion and asked if he could stay and read lines with the female lead. He was sure SHE didn't have to audition since she was the sister of the director.
When Marlowe Mercy entered the room his jaw hit the floor. Her deep green eyes and skin the color of butterscotch were mesmerizing. Her hair was styled in the 70s afro look, but the ringlet curls were gold-tipped. She looked like a modern-day Medusa. But, she ignored him as if he was an everyday Joe and didn't impress her.
No one had ever treated Eros in such a manner and he was beyond enchanted and intrigued. When he offered her a ride to her next appointment she flat out refused and walked away. But when Athena mentions that Marlowe will be participating in the Matchmaker Charity Auction, he knows that he will be the winning bidder for Marlowe Mercy.
Artemis painted abstract interpretative portraits of rich people and celebrities. Some reviewers called her the voice of her generation, while one of the more serious reviewers hammered her with bad reviews, but for some reason, this woman hated women artists and gave rave reviews to men, so she didn't take it too much to heart.
She is dressed in the most unglamorous outfit imaginable and is happier in her 501s and a paint-splattered t-shirt than any high fashion gown. When her assistant Arlo calls to remind her that the architect who built this home was coming to show his work to prospective clients she rushed to change realizing they should be here any second.
When she opens the door to Cooper Salazgar she is speechless. She has always been a fan and loved this home in the Colorado mountains that he designed with her parents. But, she didn't expect the gorgeous charismatic man standing in front of her.
Artemis invited Arlo to attend her brother Apollo's closing concert with her that night. She had talked Apollo into spending a few days with her to decompress after his tour. She was so worried about him. He had been going on a downward spiral for the last two years. Ever since he found their mother floating in the pool of their home in the Hamptons.
He spent the whole weekend in the Hamptons during their photoshoot either stoned from popping pills or snorting coke or being the drunken life of the party. He had more scandals surrounding him than they could count.
Apollo woke up to blinding light and for a minute wondered where he was, but when his sister entered the room with coffee he remembered. The concert his fans were singing so loud it covered up the fact that he was stoned out of his head.
After dinner with Artemis, he decided to take a walk and clear his head. When he passed by Arlo's car that was full of groceries that he had bought to stock Artemis' fridge he grabbed the two bottles of champagne and headed for the river.
After downing both bottles and realizing how late it was getting he headed back up to the house where he saw his father's Harley XL 1200. What would it hurt to take a little ride? The next thing he knows the wheels of the motorcycle are clear of the road and the trees are beneath him. He's not a religious man, but he promised God that he really didn't want to die and he would get clean as long as he survived.
Apollo wakes up to white walls and is hooked up to machines. As he starts grabbing to remove them he is stopped by a nurse who looks like an angel. Did he die after all? Daisy Sullivan has light red hair and amber eyes and he is thankful when she injects the meds in his IV line that puts him back to sleep and takes away the pain.
He is going mad! His siblings didn't check him into a hospital where you get released after your injuries have healed. No! His sadist siblings checked him into a rehab facility. And not just any rehab facility...a "research rehabilitation facility" as they keep reminding him.
Ares was tired and not looking forward to returning to his penthouse and have to deal with Tiffany. He couldn't wait to get through another week to see if his moment of madness in his limo had gotten her pregnant.
As he enters the door to his building he is stopped by the doorman to let him know that a woman has been sitting in the lobby all day to speak with him. The woman is tall with dark hair and striking dark eyes. If she wasn't a model she needed to be.
She asked to speak with him and Tiffany. Not wanting to deal with Tiffany right now, he decided to speak with the woman first and led her to a bistro down the street. He should be shocked, but was more angry than shocked at the story Jazmin Diaz was telling him.
Jazmin and her sibling took a small boat out of Cuba and snuck into the United States. One of her brothers had been caught and returned to Cuba and her other brother got involved in drugs and was now in prison. So she and her younger sister made their way to New York. Jazmin had always been told New York had streets of gold and she was hoping they could start a new life there.
So she got a job waitressing and looked for an immigration lawyer so that she and her sister could get their green card. Tiffany had promised her and her sister $4,000 dollars to scam the bookkeeper so they could pay for the green card process, but when Jazmin went looking for Tiffany to get their documents and money, she found that Tiffany and moved her office and couldn't be found.
Then Jazmin saw the magazine with the Savage family on the cover and photos of Ares and Tiffany exiting his building together. So she took the only option she had and chased him down.
Their parents had that rare, once-in-a-lifetime kind of love that all the siblings were scared they would never have. None of the siblings had ever had a meaningful relationship because they wouldn't settle for anything less than love like their parents shared.
Senior Detective Statham was taking statements about the shooting at the Wedding of the Year. "When did you hear the shooting?" he asked over and over...
This is Julie's best book yet! Not only do we have 5 romances in this book and a murder mystery, but there are also so many secondary characters to keep up with. And Julie does just that! This book is so well written and you would think that with so much going on that it wouldn't be as fully developed and in-depth as it is.
This book is action-packed from page one. We have tragedy, ex-wives, ex-girlfriends, stalkers, spurned lovers. We have gorgeous, arrogant, surly, charismatic, alpha men. We have beautiful, insecure, talented women. And they are all damaged in some way from their past.
The individual love stories are smoking hot and have their own hurdles to get through and amazingly Julie doesn't lose sight of each of their personalities and voices. All of these characters are complex and Julie brought them all to life for me.
LOVED the Detective interview blurbs throughout the book. Hilarious comments from those being interviewed after the shooting death and having the comments woven through the story kept all the suspects lurking in the back of my mind to see if I could figure out the mystery.
This is a new genre of writing for Julie Capulet, but you would never know it. The plot and storyline kept my attention from page one. The romances and mystery were pulled together perfectly.
I loved all the characters (even the ones you hate were artfully written). I am absolutely in love with Rosie and am so glad how her story played out.
I highly recommend this book!!! I fell in love with Julie Capulet's writing with Rafe and have read all of her books, but this is by far the best that Julie has written.
Ares, Apollo, Athena, Eros, and Artemis are American Royalty and they all have their own careers. They are beautiful and talented, but they are all missing that elusive love. The wedding of the year is happening but there has been a murder. Will the five siblings find love? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. Love these characters and the book is a wild ride.
🟥TRIGGER WARNING- Mention of suicide. LOTS of drug abuse and alcohol abuse.
🟥NOTE- If you like the review that you're about to read and if you will give this book a try, I have made a .....sort of a flow chart that will help you navigate the relationships in this book. As many people complained that there were too many POVs in the book and too many main characters, I think my review will help you out and if anytime u get stuck u can always come back here and understand it. This review is a bit long because the book is lengthy. I will also be providing all kind of spoilers.
🌼THIS IS A STORY ABOUT THE LIFE OF SAVAGE(thats a real last name) SIBLINGS AND HOW THEY FALL IN LOVE.
🟦THE SAVAGE SIBLINGS(eldest to youngest)-
(All the siblings are between the ages of 28 to 20. All the love intrests are between the ages of 30 to 21.)
💜COOPER SALAZAR( Architecht-He designed all the houses that Savages own across the world)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🟥SPOILERS-🟥
✅Relationship History(Includes OW/OM drama)-Except for Daisy, Athena and Jazmin no one else is a virgin.
✨Ares has NEVER been in a relationship, only hookups. There is an OP scene (not at all detailed) of him with OW, Tiffany. He breaks off all contacts after he meets Jazmin a month later. Tiffany causes a LOT of trouble between Jazmin and Ares. But he is obsessed with Jazmin only.
✨Apollo is a manhoe. Celibate for like a week or so. Never been in a relationship. Lots of drug abuse and alcohol abuse by him.
✨Wyatt Boone is celibate and only did casual hookups.
✨Athena is introvert and has a hard time dating.
✨Eros is a manhoe.(my least fav character in the book becoz i cud smell he was selfish from a mile away. idk this is just my opinion.) He is celibate for a month or two before he meets Marlowe.
✨Artemis. Its not clear if she's a virgin or not cause its not mentioned but i think she is since she has had a problem with a stalker for the past few years so she remains out of the public eye.
✨Cooper Salazar has been married for 3 years to a woman he dosent love. He was forced to marry because of parental pressure. His wife tried to force him to try and have a baby with her(cause she was almost 40 to his 30) , but simultaneously cheated on him with 5 different men(including on the wedding day with the best man.) He divorced her as soon as he met Artemis. He has been celibate for 8 months.
✨All the Savage men, Cooper and Wyatt, are celibate from a year to a week.
✨All the Heroes are OTT, J/P.
✨There is absolutely no cheating.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
✨This book has a chic-lit vibe to it. Its like reading a celebrity magazine. This book is VERY VERY VERY VERY glamarous. The Main Characters are almost god-like. 🤣
✨The Savage siblings lost their parents 2 years prior to the book events and all the Savages are greiving in their own way.
✨In terms of smut Id say compared to JC's other books, this focused more on the plot rather than the smut itself. Intimate scenes are only mentioned breifly with every couple.
'Beautiful Savages' by J. Capulet is a fabulous book and a departure from her usual style of writing. The book revolves around the Savage siblings; Ares, the CEO, Apollo, the rock star, Athena, the famous author, Eros, the A-list movie star, and Artemis, the supermodel and artist. Ms. Capulet gave each sibling their own story, problems, drama, and troubles told from their own POV. There is a murder that is interwoven into each story as a common thread. Both of their parents, Jack and Cassie, were deceased leaving them all independently wealthy, although they each increased their wealth in a variety of ways. Everything the Savage siblings touched turned to gold, it was dubbed 'The Savage Effect'. But as in most cases lucky in work, unlucky in love and that is what the five Savages wanted more then riches. A love like their parents had.
Ms. Capulet has done a stellar job keeping all of the siblings stories entwined and relevant. The book is so well written and developed from the first page it just draws you in. There is drama, action, murder, stalkers, lies, secrets, ex-wives, ex-lovers, laughs, arrogant, charismatic, men, beautiful, insecure, talented, women, and plenty of heat. This story was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone who likes a mystery with their love story.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
