It's cute, it's funny, it's a bit silly and it makes my 2-yo laugh so much he wakes me up putting this book on my face to read it to him. And it is quite heavy, mind you.

داستان بامزه و هیجان‌انگیز ۹۹۹تا بچه‌وزغ و مامان و باباشون.

قضیه از این قراره که (اسپویلر!) بچه‌وزغ‌ها بزرگ شده‌ن و آبگیر براشون کوچیکه، پس باید مهاجرت کنن.
توی راه به یه مشکل خطرناک می‌خورن که ناخواسته به هدف می‌رسوندشون. شیوهٔ مواجههٔ وزغ‌های کوچولویی که هیچ‌چیز از خطر نمی‌دونن، واقعاً بامزه‌ست.

Both my boys LOVED this book..as did I. Recommended by a good resource. Makes you giggle and they love saying the "999!" part of the book. Who doesn't like tadpoles and frogs and their journey to find a home big enough for their family. Super cute.

Mother and Father Frog find it necessary to move to a larger pond after hatching 999 tadpoles.

A more accurate title would be 999 froglets as the baby frogs only spend three pages as tadpoles before becoming frogs.

The frog family outgrows its pond after hatching 999 baby frogs, and all 1,001 frogs set out to find a bigger home. They encounter two predators on their journey, making a very narrow escape.

This story touches upon the life cycle of the frog as well as the concept of predator and prey.

The artwork by Yasunari Murakami is delightful in its minimalism. The stylized frogs pop against the white space.

My favorite in Ken Kimura's frog series is still 999 Frogs Wake Up.

This is the story of a mom and dad frog who give birth to 999 tadpoles, close to 1000! (Poor mom must be SORE and croaky after such a big birth! Aww!) As soon as all 999 grow too big for their britches to stay in their small pond, mom and dad decide to get amphibious and move out, but to beware of the big snake that might eat them whole. (This, you see, is how parents feed misinfo to their own tadpoles). The big snake they do find is tooooo tiiiired to even have one frog for a snack, but that doesn't stop another predator from trying-- THE HAWK! The Hawk loves snatching frogs! The Hawk loves eating frogs without guilt. THE HAWK KICKS BUTT! Hawkie grabs mom and dad in its talons and takes them to the sky, and our 999 little heroes jump aboard for the ride until the Hawkie is overloaded like a heavy Cessna dragging the KISS band airborne with all their sound equipment!!! Stuff like this makes for...RIBBITING ADVENTURE!!! Read it to your kids!!!

This is a fun tale about a group of tadpoles who go on an adventure when they discover that the place where they were born is too small for all of them. The narrative is simple and reminds me somewhat of Satoshi Kitamura while Yasunari Murakami's illustrations also have a bit of Eric Carle-esque flair.

Overall, I recommend this book to parents reading with their children.

999 Tadpoles by Ken Kimura is a cute story about growing up and the dangers of the world around us. In this tale, a mom and dad frog have 999 babies. When the babies get too big for the pond, they have to make the dangerous journey to a new home, facing many scary creatures along the way. The pictures and colors used in this book are very engaging, and it is a story that would be loved by many ages.

Is it bad that I thought this was cute and funny? A huge family of baby frogs (with their parents) almost end up eaten by a hawk - but the little frogs think it's a grand adventure! Tiny certainly liked looking at the pictures and turning the pages on his own (as well as he could do, anyway). But we had fun with this one.

I'm not even sure why I like this book so much, but I do. I can't wait to read it with my class-fun illustrations, great humor. This feels like a fable for today's kids. I might ask my students what the moral would be if it was a fable.

Mom and dad frog notice that there 999 tadpoles for growing into frogs and their pond was too small. So they decided to get out of the pond following frog (dad) through and across the field. They had encounters with snaked a Hawk. But when the hawk grabbed the their dad, the 999 frogs grabbed on too. They all flew through the sky, until they all wiggle and the hawk let them go. All the frogs fell into a big pond and their journey to our new, bigger home had finished.

What? This book is boring and weird. I mean, all children's books are a bit weird but this is more like a very odd, short story written for adults who are mature and stuffy but can't read very well. The pictures don't do much for me either.

I'd recommend it for K-1. The kids will find the frog family's adventure funny. It has a good amount of repetition so it's a good one for early readers. Could also be used to talk about how you know if something you read is nonfiction or fiction.

خیلی بیخود بود!😂
نمیدونم شاید میخواست لزوم با هم بودن و اتحاد رو یادآوری کنه، ولی خب بچه وزغ ها زیادی خوش شانس بودن، میشد در نهایت جای دیگه ای بیوفتن و این با هم بودنه، اتفاقا به ضررشون تمام می��د!!🤷🏻‍♀️
